Death Over Danishes

Armed with RBF and a desire to infiltrate an underground radio show host fight club, the girls grab some coffee and settle in for the week.   To celebrate her upcoming birthday and recent medical adventures, Ann finds that Sonya Caleffi shares the special day with her. She also found that Sonya was an Italian serial killer, that allegedly killed about 18 people, acting as an Angel of Death.   Jessi's dad put in a request for the "story about the murdered DJ from Denver." Turns out there's more than one, so Jessi dives into the story of Alan Berg, who mouthed off and got the attention of some white supremacists.

After a month hiatus, Ann and Jessi are back to bring shame to their families and make wildly inappropriate jokes.   Jessi covers the story of Paige Birgfield, a Grand Junction mother of 3 with several thriving businesses, some crazy ex's, and a secret that would send the cops scrambling.   Ann goes over the sordid and ill-advised history that led to the notorious hauntings of the Hotel Colorado, in Glenwood Springs.

The girls really took all of their favorite things, and crammed them into one episode. Coffee! Taco speakeasies! Bagel bites! The bar continues to be raised!Ann wants to stave off a full blown addiction, so she presents the cautionary tale of the 1997 coffee shop murders. Jessi needs perspective, to show her that homeowning could be worse, so she covers the haunting of the Peabody Mansion.  

Did we record on time? We did.  Did we edit on time? Sure did.  Did Jessi follow up on the minor role she plays in the publishing piece of this enterprise? No. No she did not.  They may be late to the party, but they are still fabulously disorganized with stories of 1920s floozies and 9 year old planners. 

Between turkeys roaming the streets and the most amazing fan base ever, the girls are ready to limp into a new week.

Curses and icebergs, bad parenting skills and changelings.  After a rough week, the girls are asking the hard questions. Like, is Mercury in retrograde? What the hell is retrograde? How do parents keep track of 7 kids? Maybe we'll never know.  After feeling the effects of the April Curse, Jessi delves into the many, many other examples of the people April has curb stomped.  Ann wonders how many kids got swapped out in the early 1900s after learning the story of Bobby Dunbar and the gaggle of incompetent adults surrounding him. 

Armed with homemade danishes and a live audience, the girls settle in and take you on a journey of haunted houses and phantoms. Ann lays out the bizarre happenings surrounding a house in L.A. complete with ghosts, suicides years apart, and a link to the Mason Family. Jessi takes everyone through the numerous and baffling crimes of the Phantom of Heilbronn.

After checking the fire insurance on Jessi's home, verifying the day of the week for Ann, and giving an update on an old episode, the girls continue to tell the stories of the Eleven who went to Heaven. In part 3, Ann tries to dig up information on Kimberly Pitchford and Susie Bowers, while Jessi questions the connection to Brenda Jones and Ed Bell.There's tentative connections and bad police work aplenty, but are these murders a part of something bigger?

The girls are throwing back the schnapps and enrolling the dogs in AA, but that won't stop them from judging 1970's police forces. In Part 2 of the Eleven who went to heaven, Ann and Jessi discuss the string of horror that seems to follow Ed Bell. Another set of best friends, a girl returning from band camp, and young woman just starting her adult life. All taken, all dismissed as runaways, all tied to an area Bell lived and worked.
