Alyssa Marie Hovde, also know as Åse (ahh-say), is a Seattle Drum & Bass DJ and aspiring producer. She brings an infectiously heartwarming energy wherever she goes, and music is her chosen medium of expressing herself. It all started with piano at a young age, followed by an almost obsessive desire to collect music around the age of 9, and leading up to her finally working up the guts to play live in front of friends in 2017. Her bread and butter is Drum and Bass, but she has a love of all things house and techno. You may have caught her playing at local venues like Rebar, Monkey Loft, Kremwerk, Timbre Room, and Substation, or even bigger events like Cascadia and Emissions. DJ BIO: You can never be completely sure what you’re in for when you see Subset perform - even he isn’t too certain what to expect. Honing his craft in the demanding and eclectic New York City scene, Mark has put down roots in Seattle's thriving world of dance music. He has spent the last 10 years soaking up the musical variety from his experiences to develop his unique and versatile sound. Links: Subset & The Instigators: https://www.facebook.com/groups/instigatorsmountup/ Field Trip: https://www.facebook.com/thatfieldtrip Noise Complaint: https://www.facebook.com/noisecomplaintsea From his weekly and monthly parties to his renegade sets at festivals around the country to massive sets at Holy Ship!, EDC Vegas, HARD Summer, and Burning Man, Subset knows just what to play to set the perfect tone, no matter the setting. Mark has also focused on ingraining himself in the communities he visits, finding every opportunity to promote positive and personal growth. BASSment Saturdays, the legendary bass music weekly Subset hosted and curated at Webster Hall, became a home and a family for electronic music fans all around the Northeast. Some traveled hours to be there every week, not necessarily for the headliners, but for the family and vibes that inhabited that space. Subset has also been an integral member of the Holy Ship! community known as Shipfam. For years, he has thrown countless preparties, afterparties, renegade sets, and meetups. In 2015, HARD recognized his aptitude for curation and event planning, and invited him to curate a stage at all Holy Ship! official preparties. In 2016, HARD recognized the demand that he had built over the last four years and gave him sets on both Holy Ships. In 2018, Subset hosted his own stage on Holy Ship, along with a coveted set on a private island in the Bahamas. 2019 will see Subset bringing his brand Noise Complaint to Holy Ship, along with a massive new project called Subset & The Instigators. Mark continues to broaden his horizons while building a platform for positivity and gratitude oriented at giving back to the community. From hosting an art car at EDC, instigating silliness at Dirtybird Campout, and curating a weekly at Q Nightclub called Field Trip, Subset continues to create experiences around the world.

Season 2 is here! We're starting things off with Darrius Washington, one of the most iconic names in Seattle's electronic dance music scene. He's been a mentor and friend to both of us, and we couldn't have more love for this beautiful soul. SoundCloud: @djDarrius Facebook: @DarriusMusic Instagram: @DarriusMusic Twitter: @_DARRIUS_ Bio: "The creation of music, or art of any style, will succeed with courage and a great deal of style, so it is without surprise that DARRIUS was vaulted into wide recognition throughout Seattle shortly after he began his music career in 2009. His effectual melodic sets, exalted by his effervescent stage presence, are no doubt a result of his deep passion and dedication to electronic dance music. Focusing first with melody, DARRIUS pours his heart into his music in personal expression, and those who’ve witnessed his performances are plugged into a sensually-captivating experience, coated by his electrically-charged positive attitude at the helm of venues all across Washington. DARRIUS also enjoys a well-deserved understanding as a leading name in Seattle’s skyward-growing dance music arena. We switched things up a bit this episode and had a previous guest of ours interview us - Lauren Hruska Round 2! We go way back with Lauren, and I highly recommend listening to Episode 12 for a bit of context on how we know her and why we gave her the reigns this time around. I love how in-depth we were able to go on so many different topics, which is apparent by the 3 hour run time! Maybe you break this one up into several parts, or digest it all at once - your call.
A Canadian and an Aussie walk into a studio...what happens next is nothing less than magic. Jamie & Sarah are profoundly special individuals, and together they created a SuperNovalie. I (Jordan) find myself more and more enthralled by Jamie's presence with every encounter. Maybe it's that captivating accent of his, but he has this glimmer in his eyes, and his catch phrase is "sprinkle magic everywhere". We absolutely adore these two, and were so happy that they came to visit and wanted to do a podcast episode with us. We got a little stoned (thanks to legal marijuana in Washington state, which, side note: walking into a dispensary was a totally new experience for them), and just let the wind take our sails wherever it so desired.

Web developer, music creator, dj, cat whisperer, tattoo traveler, extremely good looking.... these are some of the ways to describe Anthony Samaha. From Spokane, he moved to Seattle to work as well as pursue his passion of music in the electronic music scene. It's taken him a few years, but he's finally figured out his own sound. He's djed at clubs all over Seattle, but as of late has been focusing all his attention into producing. With an EP on the way, as well as a few singles slated for release on labels around the word, expect to hear a few Samaha songs coming soon. Besides music you'll find him documenting his ridiculous cat, traveling to a new country once a year, and getting inked up along the way. aSuhmaha dude. https://soundcloud.com/samahaofficial
Our guests for this episode are Loch and Filip, AKA Dimibo. I've known Loch for around 7 years now, and I have an insane amount of respect for the dude. Filip on the other hand....haha just kidding, Fil is an absolute WIZARD on the production end of things, and it was so great to pick the brains of these two up and coming artists. I really believe these two are the next big thing, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. Upcoming Show with Seven Lions, AKA SVEN (his psytrance alias) https://www.facebook.com/events/438087016631386/ Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/dimibo Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dimibomusic/ Bio: Filip and Loch first met online in 2013 through a shared passion for producing electronic music. Both hailing from the Pacific Northwest, it wasn’t long before they sat down in the studio and started making music together. Their first song, ‘Shangri La,’ won them a trip to Las Vegas to perform at Electric Daisy Carnival as winners of Insomniac’s Discovery Project. However, this early success had to be put on hold. Not completely satisfied with their final product, they spent the next two years honing their production capabilities as well as their overall sound, and it is during this period that they discovered their mutual passion for psytrance. Their performance at a few select festivals followed by a release on the respected Brazilian psy label Alien Records caught the attention of a fellow producer who calls the Northwest home. Sharing a love of psytrance with Seven Lions, they collaborated on a massive remix of Excision’s 2016 dubstep monster ‘The Paradox.’ Deftly blending two seemingly incompatible genres, their Paradox remix immediately grabbed the attention of a wide range of listeners. With multiple tracks slated for upcoming release on Armada Music as well as Iono Music, it's safe to say that Dimibo is just getting started.

In Episode 10, I (Jordan) sat down with Connor Drazil, AKA Faraday. He had just released a new track, and I'm a big fan of his work, so I had him swing by and chat with me for a bit. The convo got a little whacky, but that's pretty much exactly how I want this podcast to be - free form & fun/random. Enjoy WEBSITE: https://www.iamfaraday.com/ BIO: "Faraday (real name Connor Drazil) has always considered himself a dreamer and a musician. Coining himself as a 'digital composer', Faraday has been performing and writing music for as long as he can remember but it wasn't until his years in college as an engineering student that he fell in love with electronic music. It was only natural that he picked up producing shortly after in order to fulfill his wildest dreams and dedicate himself to his only true passion in life: music. In the short amount of time since dropping out of college to pursue his music career at the beginning of 2015, Faraday has garnered the support of USC Events and a residency at Foundation Nightclub in Seattle along with crossing a quarter of a million total plays on his productions by getting support from major labels such as AiA, EDM.com, Adrenalin Room, and Seattle based Anomaly Music Collective. Faraday has consistently pushed the envelope with his productions and his unique sound and style has landed him shows, support, and respect from the entire West Coast and beyond" UPCOMING GIGS: Yehme2 @ Foundation - April 13 Infected Mushroom @ Foundation - April 20 Devault & Noizu @ Foundation - May 18

Our guests for this episode of the Gravity Lift Podcast are Kate Swarm & Gordon Ogden. We met these two essentially via social media, but right away we knew there was something special about them...something that transcended far beyond the often-fake world of Instagram. After a couple memorable face-to-face interactions, they invited us to teach an all-immersive experience with Walter Yoga down in Arizona, and it was absolutely AMAZING. We're so excited to have connected with these two stellar individuals and their respective beautiful families. Keep an eye out for more Walter Yoga x Gravity Lift collaborations ;) http://www.walteryoga.com/ http://www.walteryoga.com/teachers/ Below are both Kate & Gordon's bio's: Kate Swarm is an international yoga teacher based out of Oregon, with a passion for creating unique and fully immersive experiences. She has a gift for holding a sacred space of transcendence, while guiding her students to a place of union between mind, body and soul. Over the last 5 years her devotion and excitement to exploring how environment, sensory input, and intention effects a shift in consciousness, has lead her to work beside some of the most gifted artists, musicians and creatives in the wellness movement; including Walter Yoga, for whom she is both a resident yoga instructor and event producer. Kate has taught at numerous yoga and music festivals throughout the Nation, blurring the lines between yoga, movement, meditation, visual engineering, and sound immersion. Although she spends a significant amount of time curating external environmental elements, Kate is even more detail oriented when it comes to exploring her students internal environment of the “self”. She has a warm, peaceful, and grounding presence that gently guides her students to a peak state of integrated body awareness, intelligent and thoughtful movement, and self realization. Besides holding a sacred space of mind-blowing-multidimensional-blissed-out-radical-transformation Kate is a mom and a wife, who loves to dance, laugh, and never takes life too seriously. She started on her yoga journey after suffering through an extremely difficult loss. Yoga was what helped Kate find love, peace, contentment and purpose for her life, it is her greatest joy to give that gift back to the world. Gordon was first introduced to yoga nearly 20 years ago, he immediately recognized the gifts of yoga and has never looked back. In 2014, wanting to deepen his practice, he completed his 200-hour teacher certification with John Salisbury. He has seen the amazing growth, undeniable joy, and freedom that yoga cultivates in one’s life and wants to share that with every student. In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, Gordon teams up with Kate to co-produce extraordinary yoga events with Walter Yoga. He’s been a marketing professional since the mid 1990’s, an avid rock climber, and lives in Phoenix with his wife Holly, and their daughter Willow.
Today's guest is Christian Jackson, a Seattle based lighting designer, programmer, and operator specializing in the world of electronic dance music. His resume includes Lighting Director for Zomboy, Lighting Programmer for Anjunabeats, Technical Director at Q Nightclub, and various roles with USC Events festivals. His Youtube channel has almost 40k subscribers with nearly 5,000,000 views, and has come in clutch for me several times with various CDJ/mixing issues. I had a blast talking with him, so check it out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdLor-EVzOjOY7OZNXt8eIw
Episode 4 is brought to you by the letter H, for Holidaze. We invited Bailey and Jackson (our kiddo's) to join us on this special Holiday themed podcast, where we discuss our top 10 favorite things about the holidays, plus various other random, side-note tangents. And as always, keep an ear out for some Blue cameos (like the yawn at the very beginning to start us off). We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Antonella takes the hot seat for episode 3, as we get to know a bit more about my Woman Crush Wednesday #wcw. Keep an ear out for Blue, who makes a couple cameo appearances haha
Episode 2 of the Get Lifted Podcast with Gravity Lift. For this round, Antonella interviews Jordan to give the listeners a little backstory on his life. *side note: my "crazy old neighbor" is an awesome mentor who has taught me a ridiculous amount over the past year and a half. Plus he learned trigonometry with 0 higher education, and built himself a geodesic dome...the man's a genius, and I use "crazy old man" as nothing but endearing.
Welcome to the first episode of the Gravity Lift Podcast, with Jordan & Antonella. The podcast series is basically just us talking about random topics that we hope you'll find interesting or entertaining in some way (or not). Sometimes we'll have guests joining us, and other times you'll just have to deal with our nonsensical ramblings...think of it as a sneak peak into our weird brains. More often than not there will be a specific topic to guide the conversation, and the topic for this first episode was...drum roll please...WEED!
