What can I say about a man I've known for about 30 years who's gone from an actor, dancer and singer in a boy band to a major force in the Music Business? Well, today Damon Sharpe is a Grammy and ASCAP award-winning producer, songwriter, DJ and recording artist. Behind the scenes as a producer he's worked alongside Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Pitbull, and Alesso and so many more.... But on a personal note I'm excited to say that Damon is also focusing on his own music, and his new record company BRAINJACK! With more new unreleased music coming in 2023 the transition from “behind the scenes” to in front of them is continuing fast. As an artist he has over 87 Million streams (at this writing it's almost 1 million a month) and growing fast, and as a Producer/Songwriter he has over 2 Billion streams! On the DJ front, Damon has been playing live sets worldwide including EDC Vegas and SXSW! I recommend you follow Damon everywhere and connect with him on social media! He is a wealth of talent and information for those looking to make it in the music business! Or in life.

PURGE is an American electronic music producer, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He exploded onto the electronic scene in the fall of 2016 with his debut EP release on Skrillex's imprint and media outlet, NEST HQ which received high praise from almost every major electronic media outlet and DJ's alike. Both songs on the EP made it's way into the top ten on SoundCloud's "New & Hot" charts. That same year, two single's from Elysian Records pushed his career in electronic music even further into mainstream light. "Holding On" and "Kush" receiving support from EDM giants like San Holo and Krewella. PURGE has made his debut festival appearance at EDC Orlando in 2017 and EDC Vegas in 2018 and has had his music released with Insomniac Records, Steve Aoki's imprint and record label Dim Mak and San Holo's imprint and record label bitbird. His song "Torn" remains one of his most streamed songs at 1.2+ million total online streams. Since then, he's gone onto to make a guest appearance on Diplo's BBC Radio show, Diplo & Friends, perform livestreams for G-Fuel energy drink and Steve Aoki's weekly twitch stream, release on kayzo, borgore and excision's labels (welcome records, buygore and subsidia) and clock in over 6+ total online streams and making it on to multiple spotify curated playlists, dubstep don, creamy, bass lounge, and discover weekly. In this episode of #TheNewAbnormal, I interview Felix De Laet aka Lost Frequencies, who would normally be found manning a DJ booth somewhere in Paris, Tokyo, Berlin or New York. The global pandemic put a stop to that - but he hasn't sat around watching TV all year. Instead, he's recently performed a spectacular show on the roof of the Royal Palace in Brussels, and has remixed music for the likes of Major Lazor, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Ellie Goulding , and LSD Labyrinth / Diplo / Sia. His first smash hit went to No1 in 18 countries, while he's played a huge amount of gigs at festivals across the world; including Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Lollapalooza, closing down EDC Vegas in spectacular solo style. He also did a massive arena run with fellow chart-dominators The Chainsmokers. So...in this episode, we discuss how Felix got into the music industry, key events along the way, his artistic inspirations, current producer activity (along with an overview of his label 'Found Frequencies') and future tour plans, which hopefully include an epic New Year's Eve gig in Hong Kong. Oh, and why he's just launched his own gin brand. Finally, I have to point out that, in 2020, he's now amassed over 3.5 billion streams. (Yes, billion.) As you do.
Welcome to Episode 54! Topics include Digital Mirage raising 100s of thousands for charity, a new app called Endless which lets you make music with your friends, EDC Vegas postponed to October and much more. We also discuss fresh tracks from the likes of JOYRYDE, Duke Dumont, Adiidas, Malaa, Voltra and many more.Plus, we introduce the Insider Picks section with Mounika - a trip hop producer from France. We have a lot of EDM industry insiders giving us artist recommendations so we decided to do this occasionally when we really like a suggestion!A major shoutout to this week's Artists We're Watching - In:Most (Liquid Dnb, Dnb); HELLBOUND (house). If you want to see the full show notes - complete with links and playlists - head on over to www.beyondthebeats.co/episode-54

Sychosis has spent a lifetime in the music industry. As a classically trained musician he spent his youth touring Europe and North America. He caught the dance music bug at 18 and has steadily built a career that spans music, media and technology. As a DJ he's played small and large rooms alike with gigs at major festivals like EDC Vegas and as far away as Vietnam. His bass heavy beats have caught the attention of everyone from Marten Hørger to DJ Craze and Tommy Trash to Billy Kenny. He's been featured in publications like Mixmag, The NestHQ, and This Song Is Sick. As a journalist, his work has appeared in major publications like Magnetic Mag, Insomniac, and Ask Audio. DJ BIO: You can never be completely sure what you’re in for when you see Subset perform - even he isn’t too certain what to expect. Honing his craft in the demanding and eclectic New York City scene, Mark has put down roots in Seattle's thriving world of dance music. He has spent the last 10 years soaking up the musical variety from his experiences to develop his unique and versatile sound. Links: Subset & The Instigators: https://www.facebook.com/groups/instigatorsmountup/ Field Trip: https://www.facebook.com/thatfieldtrip Noise Complaint: https://www.facebook.com/noisecomplaintsea From his weekly and monthly parties to his renegade sets at festivals around the country to massive sets at Holy Ship!, EDC Vegas, HARD Summer, and Burning Man, Subset knows just what to play to set the perfect tone, no matter the setting. Mark has also focused on ingraining himself in the communities he visits, finding every opportunity to promote positive and personal growth. BASSment Saturdays, the legendary bass music weekly Subset hosted and curated at Webster Hall, became a home and a family for electronic music fans all around the Northeast. Some traveled hours to be there every week, not necessarily for the headliners, but for the family and vibes that inhabited that space. Subset has also been an integral member of the Holy Ship! community known as Shipfam. For years, he has thrown countless preparties, afterparties, renegade sets, and meetups. In 2015, HARD recognized his aptitude for curation and event planning, and invited him to curate a stage at all Holy Ship! official preparties. In 2016, HARD recognized the demand that he had built over the last four years and gave him sets on both Holy Ships. In 2018, Subset hosted his own stage on Holy Ship, along with a coveted set on a private island in the Bahamas. 2019 will see Subset bringing his brand Noise Complaint to Holy Ship, along with a massive new project called Subset & The Instigators. Mark continues to broaden his horizons while building a platform for positivity and gratitude oriented at giving back to the community. From hosting an art car at EDC, instigating silliness at Dirtybird Campout, and curating a weekly at Q Nightclub called Field Trip, Subset continues to create experiences around the world.

On this weeks episode of the Space Cowboys RIPEcast, we are featuring a guest mix from Punks Music recording artist @Sychosis. Here are a few words from Sychosis about this mix: “I'm always excited to put together a mix for The Space Cowboys, by far one of my favorite crews. This is something like what you'd hear when I play live. A mix of breaks, bass and house from my homies and favorite producers. There's also a dash of my own edits and remixes thrown in for good measure. Enjoy!” About Sychosis: SYCHOSIS née Alexander Dias has spent a lifetime in music. Trained classically he toured Europe and North America as part of a boys choir from the ages of 11 to 17. He has spent more than a decade as a part of San Francisco’s thriving Electronic Music scene. His music has been featured in both print and online publications including Mixmag, The NestHQ, Discobelle, This Song Slaps and We Are Rebel Bass. WIth releases on Punks Music, Audiophile XXL and Illeven 11 and his prolific edits and remixes his deep and pumping minimal beats are highly sought after.
