Jake and Stacy tell you why this team is showing them something this fan base hasn't seen over the last 20 years. The conductor of the Dare to Dream Express, The Groz, stops by to give some perspective on this furious late-season run made by this Mariners team. Later, Jake and Stacy take a closer look at the decision to bench Kikuchi on Tuesday in favor of Tyler Anderson and Matt Brash. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Doesn't appear as though the Mariners can let Kikuchi make his next start.

Mike Garafolo thinks the Seahawks and Duane Brown could get a contract done soon. so how could that actually happen? Yusei Kikuchi had the wheels fall off again last night, so how concerned should we be about the All-Star pitcher for the rest of the season? Then, it's this week's WHYMAN? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The M's blew a lead and lost to the Royals last night when Yusei Kikuchi ran out of gas in the 6th inning. Earlier this year it seemed that most were on board with the M's offering Kikuchi a contract extension. Where do you stand now? Paul takes your texts and calls on that and Corbin Smith of SI stops by to preview the Seahawks final preseason game. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Establishing a compelling brand is one of the most important challenges every company must face. We know that it's much more than just whipping up a cool logo and starting an Instagram account—it takes a lot of planning and effort. And yet, there's very little guidance on how it's done. Ryo Kikuchi is offering help with his company ZeBrand. Based in New York City, ZeBrand is a platform that gives companies a process for crafting their story, developing their look, and delivering their brand, allowing emerging startups to define themselves quickly and get to market faster.
Are we finally nearing the end of the Rafael Montero experience? Last night's loss makes Kikuchi's start tonight that much more important. It could be his biggest start of the season. How concerned are you that his recent struggles continue? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Brad Adam is out-of-town while the M's have a few days off thanks to the All Star break, but that doesn't stop him from joining us to discuss the team as he makes his way back from Chelan. Puck remains adamant though that we must #KeepHaniger. Details continue to emerge in the Richard Sherman story. We'll give you the latest.

Yusei Kikuchi turned in another great performance prior to tiring out in the 7th inning. Unfortunately, the bullpen couldn't hold the lead the M's had built, and Rafael Montero wound up with his 5th blown save already. D.C. talks about last night's game, Kikichi-san's performance, as well as the two relievers', and also explains why he didn't think the Mariner offense was very good despite scoring four runs. The M's have a new minor league catcher, and there are injury updates aplenty. D.C. also talks about the latest no-hitter, which was spun by former Mariner Wade Miley, and also talks about Jarred Kelenic reportedly getting the call up to the big leagues later this week. Also, there's a very interesting question in the Trivia Corner regarding former slugging first baseman Fred McGriff and the number of stadiums in which he played. Learn more about your ad choices. Yūsei Kikuchi was amazing yesterday in Houston. D.C. talks about his performance, but still finds something to complain about. (Not in Kikuchi-san's performance, but the fact that he was removed after seven innings and 95 pitches.) D.C. also talks about why his first couple seasons with the Mariners may have been largely unsuccessful, versus what we saw out of him yesterday. There's more injury news, unfortunately, but also a preview of the upcoming three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, which begins tonight in Seattle. Learn more about your ad choices. 0:00 - 6:30: As we get settled in for the podcast and also the outset of the MLB season, we note a few fun facts that home in front of Matthew, Kate, and John. New Red Sox UTIL man Enrique Hernández is a surprisingly popular jersey, Matthew loves a flowy baseball pant for the summer season, and John manages to successfully quiet and calm a woebegone Corgi before diving into the questions. 6:30 - 31:00: Questions!!! Some of the topics include... what's the outfield going to look like in the early days with Kyle Lewis OFFICIALLY on the 10-day IL to start the year? We remain mildly flabbergasted by José Marmolejos sidling his way onto the roster once more. John considers getting his Jeff Feagles on for Matthew's cheerful suggestion of a Mitch Haniger trade return, and Kate and John spar over Haniger's relative value to the Mariners versus another club. Where might Haniger be shopped to if Seattle is in fact in such a flush position midseason when their young outfield is potentially runneth over? Also, Kate uncorks a secret tip of the trade for teachers everywhere. 34:00 - 1:05:41 (END): Further email questions dig into the pitching staff and third base position. Yusei Kikuchi is a hot topic, particularly wondering about how his 2021 could lead to the Mariners choosing to take his 4-year, $66 million team option after 2021. Kate creates a new type of guy, John makes a comp for Kikuchi that his cohosts do NOT accept gladly. Not much love is cast Ty France's way defensively, but the group is split on how Kyle Seager might be replaced (or not replaced) after 2021. Matthew learns a little French in attempting to locate Shed Long Jr. and we conclude by discussing what a successful/unsuccessful 2021 looks like, along with some predictions.
