In collaboration with Startup Exchange, Georgia Tech's Student Entrepreneur Community, Serial Entrepreneur Lara Hodgson came to Tech Square for young startups to learn about her rise to success from Georgia Tech student to CEO of NOW Corporation and Entrepreneur in Residence at Harvard Business School. Lara heads NOW Corporation, a B2B financing company that helps corporations grow quickly by allowing businesses to access customer payment immediately. Prior to NOW, she co-founded Nourish, a firm specializing in investment, and Insomnia a project management company. Lara has served as Chief Operating Officer of Dewberry Capital Corporation, a commercial real estate company. Lara was also on the founding team of Dunk, serving as Executive Vice President to the performance footwear and apparel manufacturing/retail company founded with Shaquille O’Neal and Mike Piazza. Her extensive career has led her to be an Entrepreneur in Residence at Harvard Business School and an internationally recognized speaker, leading seminars on creativity, innovation, and access to capital.

He has also had a long relationship with Georgia Tech and invigorates the future of technology at Georgia Tech by supporting CREATE-X.

With so many people, companies, and universities seeking the holy grail of "innovation," is the innovation journey a case of the blind leading the blind through a circuitous labyrinth? Reddy of The Combine and Shadow Ventures, Sandeep Ahuja of Pattern r+d, and Dennis Shelden of Georgia Tech's Digital Building Lab as they share their predictions for the next five years in the world of BuiltTech. According to the National Science Foundation, women make up half of the U.S. college-educated workforce, but only 29% of the science and engineering workforce. While many great first computer scientists were women, we still have not closed the gap between genders. The conversations of sexism and sexual harassment in the workplace, and how to solve these large problems, are becoming more of a hot-topic with recent viral articles about companies like Uber. Episode 8 of Hump Day Exchange brought three artificial intelligence aficionados to share their experiences. On May 7, Steve Case, co-founder of AOL and CEO of Revolution, brought his national Rise of the Rest tour to Tech Square for a lunch with corporate innovators and startup leaders. About 50 people gathered in the AT&T Foundry to enjoy a barbecue meal to discuss how large enterprises and startups will lead the Third Wave of the Internet. Here is the full conversation.
