Over the past few weeks, I've been rebuilding the entire Your Level Fitness ecosystem. Cleaning up the site, improving structure, connecting everything, and creating something that actually supports both you and me long term. But this isn't just about websites or marketing. This is about how we approach our lives.I talk about why hustle is a skill, not a way of life, how burnout sneaks in when we don't create boundaries, and why I've intentionally stepped away from posting on weekends.I also walk through how I'm simplifying content, restructuring emails, and focusing on clarity over noise, so you can actually use what I share instead of feeling overwhelmed by it.This episode is about building something sustainable, not just in business, but in your mindset, your habits, and your day to day life.If you've ever felt like you're always “on” or like you're falling behind, this one is for you.• Hustle and grinding are skills, not identities• Creating boundaries protects your energy and consistency• Simplicity leads to better execution and less overwhelm• Systems create freedom, not restriction• Your pace determines your sustainabilityFind Your Levelhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/find-your-levelThe YLF Frameworkhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/frameworkJournal Prompt Emailshttps://yourlevelfitness.com/journal-prompt-emails

This episode is a personal one.For the first time, I'm openly talking about something that has always been there in my life.I'm always in physical pain.Because of cerebral palsy, pain has been a constant for me. It's something I've learned to live with, adapt to, and move through every single day.But I've never really acknowledged it out loud.In this episode, I talk about what that looks like, why I'm choosing to say it now, and how I continue to show up without letting it change my outlook or the way I live my life. This is not about limitation. This is about awareness, ownership, and continuing forward anyway.

For a long time, I shared pieces of my story online, but never the full picture. In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I finally sit down and share my experience growing up and living with cerebral palsy, how it influenced the way I view fitness, how it shaped my mindset, and why it ultimately led me to create Your Level Fitness.Living with cerebral palsy has impacted how I move, how I train, and how I approach my health. But more importantly, it shaped how I think about identity, self acceptance, and building a life around what is possible instead of focusing on limitations. This conversation is not just about cerebral palsy. It is about perspective. It is about learning to trust yourself, adapting to challenges, and building confidence in your own path even when it looks different from everyone else's.If you have ever struggled with self doubt, physical limitations, or feeling like you do not fit the traditional mold of the fitness industry, this episode will resonate with you.Your journey does not need to look like anyone else's. You simply need to find your level.• What it was like growing up with cerebral palsy• How cerebral palsy influenced my relationship with fitness• Why the fitness industry often misses the mark for people with physical differences• How mindset and self acceptance play a major role in long term health• The origin story behind the Your Level Fitness philosophyYour Level Fitness Links:Find Your Levelhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/find-your-levelCerebral Palsy Guidehttps://yourlevelfitness.com/cerebral-palsy-guideThe Your Level Fitness Frameworkhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/frameworkJournal Prompt Emailshttps://yourlevelfitness.com/journal-prompt-emailsShop Your Level Fitnesshttps://shopylf.comInstagramhttps://instagram.com/daryltperryFacebookhttps://facebook.com/daryltperryYour Level Fitness Instagramhttps://instagram.com/yourlevelfitnessThe Daryl Perry Podcast is about personal growth, mindset, mental health, and building a life that reflects who you truly are.Through honest conversations and personal stories, Daryl shares lessons about confidence, self trust, emotional awareness, and living with intention.

In this quick podcast update, I'm sharing an important shift in the format of The Daryl Perry Podcast.Since launching the show in 2018, I've recorded episodes under the Almost Daily Podcast format. Moving forward, this show is evolving into something that better reflects how I actually create and share ideas. The podcast is becoming an audio journal. These episodes will capture real time reflections on mindset, fitness, confidence, self appreciation, personal growth, men's mental health, and navigating life with cerebral palsy. Many of the topics will overlap with the work I'm doing through Your Level Fitness, but the format will remain simple and personal.Think of this podcast as a journal documenting the process of building an inside/out life, developing confidence, improving health, and learning through experience.Episodes will still be released consistently, but without a strict schedule. When new episodes appear in podcast feeds, they will usually be scheduled for early morning release. If you want to catch new episodes as soon as they are recorded, the best place to do that will be YouTube.Subscribe to the Daryl T. Perry YouTube channel if you want to see new videos and podcast episodes right away. The next episode coming to the podcast feed is a special one. It is my personal story about living with cerebral palsy from the Cerebral Palsy Perspective Podcast, which I host with Chad. In that episode I share my experience growing up with cerebral palsy, how it shaped my perspective on life, and how it influences the work I do today.Thank you for listening and being part of this journey.Find Your Levelhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/find-your-levelThe Your Level Fitness Frameworkhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/frameworkThe Daryl Perry Journalhttps://yourlevelfitness.com/blogJournal Prompt Emailshttps://yourlevelfitness.com/journal-prompt-emailsYour Level Fitness Storehttps://yourlevelfitness.shopEmailDaryl@YourLevelFitness.com

What it is, what it is not, and why it is one of the most important foundations of living an inside/out life.Forgiving does not mean forgetting. It does not mean allowing someone to continue making decisions that negatively impact you. It does not mean ignoring patterns or avoiding boundaries. Forgiveness is about letting go of the grudge. It is about understanding that people make mistakes, that we make mistakes, and that we all have blind spots we cannot always see on our own.I talk about therapy, self awareness, and how easy it is to talk ourselves into believing we are right. It is very easy to build a case that absolves us of responsibility. It is much harder to look in the mirror and ask, what am I not seeing here? Where is my shortcoming in this situation? We all have them.Forgiveness starts with ourselves. When we refuse to forgive ourselves, we tend to project that same rigidity onto others. When we finally acknowledge our own blind spots and take ownership, we create space to release resentment toward others as well. That does not mean you give unlimited access. It does not mean you ignore what happened. It means you let go of carrying it for the rest of your life.I also connect this back to health and fitness. The fitness industry has long marketed against our insecurities. Many of us have been taught to punish ourselves into change instead of connecting with ourselves. If you cannot forgive yourself for past decisions, past bodies, past habits, you will struggle to build a forever active lifestyle rooted in appreciation rather than self criticism.Forgiveness is not weakness. It is maturity. It is self awareness. It is growth. If this episode resonates with you, share it. Send it to someone who needs to hear it. Post it in your stories. Text it to a friend. When you have tried to take care of people and it backfired, it is tempting to build walls. I talk to a lot of men about this, especially in conversations around mental health. They were vulnerable once and it did not land well, so they decided never again. But closing yourself off is not the answer.Yes, you need boundaries. Yes, you need to learn how to protect yourself, both literally and figuratively. Yes, you need to be selective about who gets access to you. That is part of maturity and growth. But hardening your heart to the point where you no longer allow connection is not strength.Deep down, we all want connection. We want to trust. We want to open up. We want the people close to us to open up too. That applies to romantic relationships, friendships, family, and community. It is layered and nuanced, but it matters. In this episode, I tie this back to the inside/out approach. When you stay connected to yourself and live from the inside/out, you can remain open without losing yourself. You can forgive without being naive. You can protect yourself without becoming bitter.Do not let the world harden you too much. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. We need both. There is a lot of glamorization around independence and being the lone wolf. Being able to take care of yourself is important. Being comfortable alone is important. There is a difference between being alone and being lonely. But isolation is not strength.Deep down, most of us want connection. We want support. We want to help others and be helped in return. Yet many people expect the worst from others as a way to protect themselves. If you expect disappointment, you think you will not be hurt. But how we see people and how we see the world matters.Choosing connection and compassion is not naive. It is intentional. In this episode, I share why expecting better from people can change the way you experience life. I also talk about the inside/out approach to health, fitness, and fulfillment. When you build a solid foundation where you appreciate who you are and what you see in yourself, everything outside of you becomes a bonus instead of a requirement for happiness. In fitness, that means appreciating who and what you see in the mirror at every stage. In life, that means building real connection instead of hiding behind self sufficiency. If you have been trying to do everything alone, this is your reminder that strength and support can coexist. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. There is a big difference between hope and toxic positivity. One acknowledges reality. The other tries to avoid it.Sometimes things are hard. Sometimes you are barely holding it together. Sometimes you do not know what the next move is. Pretending everything is fine does not make you strong. It disconnects you from what is actually happening. At the same time, you cannot let yourself spiral. There is a fine line between processing emotions and creating downward momentum by replaying worst case scenarios in your head. That line looks different for everyone, which is why staying connected to yourself matters so much.Hope does not mean ignoring the pain. Hope means saying, I do not know what to do right now, but I will get through this. It means believing that even if the process takes days or weeks, you will come out the other side. And ideally, you will not try to do it alone. There is a cultural flex around isolation and doing everything yourself. Deep down, most of us do not actually want to live that way. We want support. We want connection. We want to feel understood. That does not make you weak. It makes you human. This episode is a reminder to choose connection over avoidance. Choose honesty over fake positivity. Choose hope over despair. That is the heart of the inside/out approach and what Your Level Fitness is built on.If you are on a weight loss journey and you have been working at this for years but still are not happy with who and what you see in the mirror, this conversation is for you. Optimism is not about changing your body first. It is about learning how to trust yourself through hard seasons. You do not have to give up on hope. This is episode 2112, and today we are talking about something that most people quietly fear but rarely question.Aging is a gift.We live in a world where entire industries benefit from you not wanting to age. The fitness industry and the beauty industry are multi billion dollar machines that often market against your insecurities. They profit when you do not like who and what you see in the mirror. There is nothing wrong with taking pride in your appearance. There is nothing wrong with wanting to change how you look. The real question is where is that desire coming from? Are you leading with appreciation, kindness, and compassion toward yourself? Or are you hoping that one more change will finally make you feel worthy? In this episode I talk about loving who and what you see at every stage. Not in a delusional way. In an honest way. Holding yourself accountable while still leading with compassion. That foundation is what creates genuine confidence.Confidence is not about having all the answers. It is about trusting yourself to figure things out when you do not. Most of you listening are in your mid thirties and beyond. You have been through things. You have made mistakes. You have learned lessons the hard way. Forgive yourself. Experience is not something to be ashamed of. It is something to appreciate. If you are comfortable in your own skin, standards lose their pull. When you appreciate who you are, marketing against insecurity loses power. This is the inside/out approach. How you feel about yourself drives the actions you take, especially on a weight loss journey. Develop consistency as a skill. Build a lifestyle you actually enjoy. Stop trying to convince yourself to like something that does not fit you.If this resonates with you, subscribe to the podcast, rate and review, and share it with someone who needs this reminder. In this episode I continue the conversation around identity, forgiveness, and what happens when you finally decide to move forward without dragging your past behind you.Where you go from here is up to you.We talk about looking at everything you have learned, everything you have been through, and asking yourself what kind of life you actually want to build. Not the life that looks good to other people. Not the life shaped by insecurity. The life that feels aligned with who you are from a character and quality standpoint. When you start setting a course in one area, the dominoes begin to fall. The puzzle pieces begin to come together. Momentum builds, not because you are forcing it, but because you are finally building something that reflects you.Life is messy. Life is unpredictable. Plans rarely go exactly how we think they will. But when you focus on what you can control, influence what you can influence, and release what you cannot control anyway, things start working themselves out. This episode is about believing in yourself, even if you have spent years thinking you are not that type of person. It costs you nothing to believe in yourself. It costs you nearly everything not to.I also talk about consistency as a skill. Get clear on what you want. Decide how often you want to show up. Start with what you actually enjoy. Build rhythm. Build trust with yourself. This is the inside/out approach in action.Yes, there is a fitness tie in. I want you to like who and what you see in the mirror. But this goes far beyond fitness. This is about building a forever active lifestyle and a life you are proud to live.If this message resonates with you, subscribe to the podcast. Share it with someone who needs to hear it. Text it. Forgiving yourself for your past and forgiving yourself for your present. We logically know that we cannot change the past. We know it. But emotionally, we replay it. We reinforce it. We punish ourselves for it. And over time, that creates a loop of regret. If there is behavior that needs to change, change it. Take ownership. Make adjustments. But beating yourself up over and over does not move you forward. It keeps you anchored to who you used to be.Your current circumstances are based on past decisions. That is true. But they do not define you.You still get to decide who you are. You still get to choose what type of person you want to be. You still get to change direction. In this episode, I talk about how regret becomes a pattern, how we can get stuck recycling old stories, and why forgiveness is a necessary part of growth. I also speak to the importance of therapy and having a productive working relationship with a professional who can help you unpack what is hard to untangle alone. You are going to fail again. You are going to mess up again. That is part of being human. Forgive yourself for that too. This is the inside/out approach. Appreciating who and what you see in the mirror. Not just your appearance, but the person underneath. Developing genuine belief in yourself. Building consistency as a skill around your preferences instead of punishment. You are not your worst decision. You are not your regret. You are allowed to change direction. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Not the shiny version. Not the hustle culture version. Not the version built on accomplishments, performance, aesthetics, or titles.I want you to think about who you are at your core.Because if your identity is built on something that can be taken from you, it will eventually shake you.If your identity is exercising, what happens when you get injured? If your identity is looking a certain way, what happens when your body changes? If your identity is your job, what happens if the company folds or you lose it?If your identity is your relationship or even being a parent, what happens when those seasons shift?Bodies change. Jobs change. Roles change. Life changes. So what cannot be taken from you?Your character. Your compassion. Your kindness. Your willingness to lead with understanding. Your decision to be consistent. Your choice to be someone who shows up.That is what we build on.This episode is about choosing your identity around qualities that cannot be lost. Deciding first who you are going to be, then reinforcing it with beliefs and actions. Going after goals without making them your identity. Working out without making it who you are. Building a business without making it who you are. Even building Your Level Fitness without confusing it with my identity. This is the inside/out approach. If you have been on a weight loss journey for years and it has not quite clicked, this might be the shift that changes everything. When your foundation is character instead of outcomes, consistency becomes a skill. Fitness becomes a lifestyle you actually want. Confidence becomes something you feel, not something you chase.Appreciate who and what you see in the mirror.Connect with yourself.Build self confidence from the inside/out.And let your identity be rooted in qualities that cannot be taken away. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Your willingness to see what you do not want to see in yourself. We are flawed. Every single one of us. We fall short of our own standards. We get petty when we should be understanding. We get bitter when we should be forgiving. We justify our actions to protect our ego.And even when we are aware of it, it is still easy to slip back into the patterns that hurt us and hurt others. This episode is not about shaming yourself. It is about honest connection with yourself. If you are guarded, bitter, angry, or defensive, those emotions are valid. You are entitled to feel them. But are they taking too much of a toll. Are they helping you build the life you want.I talk about why genuine connection with others starts with connecting to yourself. That includes seeing your shortcomings clearly. Therapy can be incredibly helpful in this process. Not because it is just talking, but because it helps you uncover what your ego would rather hide and then take action on it.Scrolling your phone and being told you are always right feels good. But deep down, you know when you are not aligned. This episode challenges you to reflect privately. No one else needs to hear your answers. Are your reactions building the life you want. Or are they protecting wounds that need to be healed. If you want genuine confidence, lasting growth, and an inside/out life, it starts with radical honesty. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. It is not a flaw. It is human. The unknown. Uncertainty. Not knowing how something will turn out. Not knowing how you will be perceived. Not knowing whether you will succeed or fail. All of that creates tension. The challenge is not eliminating fear. The challenge is your relationship with it.We do not want to sit in fear. It feels uncomfortable. It feels slippery. But pretending it is not there does not help either. We have to acknowledge it. We have to say, I am afraid of this. Then we have to move through it before it becomes consuming.I break down why your ability to face uncertainty determines how happy and successful you will ultimately be. There are things you can control. There are things you can indirectly influence. And then there are things you simply have to trust. The sooner you can accept what is outside of your control and take responsibility for what is inside of it, the more grounded you become.I also touch on the importance of being honest about your shortcomings. Seeing yourself clearly. Owning what needs to change. Accepting what does not. That level of self awareness is uncomfortable, but it is freeing. This is what living an inside/out life looks like. Connecting with yourself. Believing in yourself. Appreciating yourself. Taking responsibility without trying to control the uncontrollable. If fear has been holding you back, this episode will help you shift your relationship with it.Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. I felt behind. I felt like if I was not outworking everyone around me, I was going to fall even further back. So I leaned into the grind. I pushed. I overworked. I burned out. More than once. What I have learned, especially now in my forties, is that success is not built on constant motion. It is built on clarity, pacing, systems, and protection of your time and mind.We talk about the stereotype that you have to hustle twenty four seven to be successful. I share my experience working in marketing and advertising where salary often meant constant availability. I also talk about the difference between working hard with intention and simply staying busy because it feels productive. There is a point of diminishing returns. More is not always better. At some point, adding more hours gives you less in return. We also talk about automation and artificial intelligence, and how tools should be used to create more human connection, not less. I share why I structure Your Level Fitness the way that I do. Why I still do onboarding calls myself. Why I am hands on with marketing and sales. Why I choose not to scale certain parts of the business beyond me. Not out of ego, but out of alignment with what I am trying to build.Your most important asset in life is your time. Your most important resource while working is your mind. If you do not protect both, the grind will consume you. This episode is about redefining success, protecting your headspace, pacing your effort, and building systems that support your inside/out life instead of draining it.If you have ever felt behind. If you have ever burned out. If you have ever believed that grinding harder was the only way forward. Walking into a room has always been one of my biggest insecurities. And yet, that insecurity became part of my message. From adaptive group fitness classes to coaching runners for the Flying Pig, to working in studios, to building an online business, I kept showing up.Along the way I learned something important. Fitness is not just about workouts and macros. It is emotional. It is about body image. It is about the relationship you have with the person in the mirror. It is about confidence, consistency, and operating from a calm headspace at a deliberate pace.I talk about how corporate marketing shaped the way I communicate today. How segmentation, storytelling, and clarity matter. How information overload hurts more than it helps. How AI can assist structure but cannot replace human connection. Why podcasting became my way of reinforcing habits in your ear almost daily. Most importantly, I explain why my mission is simple. I do not want to change what you are doing. I want you to do it from a place of appreciation and self respect. I want you to live an inside/out life. I want you to build something you actually enjoy, not something you hope to eventually enjoy. If you have ever wondered whether you need to look a certain way to belong in fitness, this episode is for you. If you have ever felt like your body disqualified you from helping others, this episode is for you. The what ifs. The if I only knew then what I know now. The wishing things had gone differently.A few days ago we talked about letting go of who you thought you were going to be. Today we take that a step further. Because while reflection can be healthy, living in regret is not. Some things in life are lessons. Some things are just hard situations. But either way, your life keeps moving. You are constantly making choices. In fitness. In relationships. In business. In how you talk to yourself. Just like I say on the YLF live streams, do not get stuck on the last choice you made. Learn what you can, then make the next one.For so many of you who have been on and off the weight loss journey for years, regret becomes a theme. You wish you appreciated the body you had in your teens or twenties. You wish you stuck with that plan. You wish you were less critical. And while those thoughts are common, staying there keeps you frozen while life keeps moving forward. This episode is about shifting from constant regret to a calm headspace at a deliberate pace. Feeling your emotions. Processing disappointment. But not building a life around looking backward.Give yourself a break. Go easier on yourself. If there is something to learn, learn it. If not, move forward anyway. This inside/out approach applies to health and fitness, but it extends into every area of life. It needs reinforcement. It needs repetition. That is why I keep showing up here. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. The difference between the people who are around you and the people who are truly there for you.We all go through ups and downs. Some seasons feel light and energized. Others feel like a pile of stress dropped right on top of us. In those heavier seasons, what we really want is not advice, not a solution, not a lecture. We want someone to rally around us. We want someone to simply be there. You will hear a lot online about how the real ones show up when you are struggling. That is true. But I believe something deeper. I believe we all have the capacity to be that person. The challenge is not whether we care. The challenge is whether we have created enough internal space to actually show up.When you are overwhelmed, reacting all day long, and filled to the brim with your own stress, it becomes difficult to notice who around you needs support. This is why I talk so much about operating from a calm headspace and moving at a deliberate pace. When your thoughts slow down, when you are more grounded, you become more aware. And awareness makes connection possible. We live in a fast moving world full of constant access and distraction. Genuine connection can get lost in the noise. Not everyone will have the same level of access to you in every season of your life. That is normal. Some people are close for a chapter. Some stay longer. The key is recognizing who you can truly be there for and who can truly be there for you. This applies far beyond fitness. But it also applies directly to it. When you are connected to yourself from the inside/out, you approach your health, your relationships, and your responsibilities differently. You move from intention instead of reaction. If this episode resonates with you, subscribe, rate, and review the show. Share it with someone who comes to mind. Letting go of who we thought we were going to be. Letting go of the timeline, the plan, the version of ourselves we once imagined.Maybe life did not unfold the way you expected. Maybe months, years, or even decades have gone in a completely different direction than you thought they would. That realization can hurt. It can require mourning. It can require sitting with disappointment and unmet expectations. And that is okay. But what I want you to consider is this. If you are still here, you have survived and navigated a lot. You have grown. You have adapted. You have endured. And instead of living in regret or nostalgia, it is time to create space for who you are now.We live in a culture that constantly pulls us back into the past. Memories pop up. Nostalgia hits hard. We replay old versions of ourselves. But you cannot build your future while living in what used to be. You can appreciate your past without residing there. This episode is about making room. Making room to appreciate who you are in this moment. Making room to love the person in the mirror. Making room to choose a new direction from a calm headspace, moving at a deliberate pace. You do not have to abandon planning for the future. But you cannot sacrifice the present while chasing it. The goal is to live inside/out. Rooted in self connection. Rooted in appreciation. Rooted in the understanding that validation starts within. If this resonates with you, subscribe, rate, and review the podcast. Your situation, no matter how long you have been in it, does not define your identity. Your identity is shaped by your characteristics, your values, and the choices you make moving forward.I talk about the importance of recognizing that change is always possible, but it starts with a decision. Not a perfect plan. Not having everything figured out. It starts with making the choice that you are ready to move in a different direction. Once that decision is made, the first step follows. Then the next. Then momentum builds. We also discuss why focusing on what you can control is essential. When you fixate on what is outside your control, you feel powerless. But when you take ownership of your actions, your mindset shifts. You begin to see possibilities instead of limitations. You begin to see progress instead of permanence. This episode reinforces the inside/out approach, connecting with yourself first, appreciating who you are right now, and building change from that foundation. Your current circumstance is not permanent. Your future is shaped by the choices you make starting today. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. The people who root for you simply because they want to see you win. The people who believe in you when your ambitions are still taking shape. These people play a powerful role in your life, especially when you are working toward something meaningful. The reality is that not everyone will support your growth. Some people will question your ambitions. Some will criticize your actions. Some will not understand the direction you are going. This is especially true when you begin to change yourself, whether that is through fitness, personal development, or choosing to live differently than you have in the past. That is why it becomes so important to recognize and appreciate the people who stand beside you during those moments. In this episode, I also reinforce the inside/out approach. When you connect with yourself first, appreciate who you are, and move forward from that foundation, you begin to see more clearly who genuinely supports your growth. You also begin to understand that your path is your own, and that external validation is not required for you to continue moving forward. This episode is a reminder to value the people who truly support you, and to continue building your life from a place of self connection, trust, and intention. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. We live in a world that moves faster than ever. Technology evolves constantly, opportunities shift quickly, and the traditional idea of knowing exactly where you will be in five years no longer applies the way it once did. Because of that, it becomes even more important to focus on what you can control right now.I share why having goals and structure matters, but also why you cannot become so attached to the future that you miss your present life. Your goals will evolve. Your direction may change. You may pause certain pursuits and come back to them later. That is part of the process. The key is maintaining an optimistic view of where you are going while staying rooted in who you are today. We also talk about how distractions, nostalgia, and constant stimulation make it harder than ever to stay present. It is easy to live in the past or obsess over the future. But your real life is happening right now. Your progress, your growth, and your connection to yourself all happen in the present moment. This episode reinforces the inside/out approach to life. Instead of chasing external outcomes hoping they will finally make you feel fulfilled, the real work is connecting with yourself first. Appreciating who you are, understanding where you have been, and intentionally moving forward in a way that aligns with you. This is not about having everything figured out. It just needs to exist. In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I break down why the size of your first step does not determine your success. What matters is that you begin. Most people believe they need to make a massive change to finally get their life together. They think the first move has to be dramatic, uncomfortable, or extreme. The truth is, the most powerful first step is the one that is small enough for you to actually take.Momentum is not built through intensity. It is built through consistency.I explain why every step in your journey should be as small as it needs to be. Some steps happen daily. Others happen weeks apart. Both count. Both move you forward. What matters most is that you reinforce the identity of someone who takes action. You are not becoming that person someday. You are already that person. You are simply proving it to yourself through your actions. This approach applies directly to fitness and weight loss. You do not need to overhaul your entire routine overnight. You need to take the next manageable step. One workout. One walk. One decision that aligns with who you want to be. Over time, those small steps compound and become your forever active lifestyle. But this goes far beyond fitness.Operating from a calm headspace and moving at a deliberate pace allows you to make better decisions, evaluate your progress, and adjust without emotional reaction. It gives you the clarity to learn from mistakes instead of being defined by them. Every lesson, every adjustment, every step forward strengthens your confidence and reinforces your trust in yourself. This episode is your reminder that progress is not about speed. Most people do not fail because they lack ability. They fail because they never fully give themselves permission to try.I share the story of how Your Level Fitness began with a simple and specific goal. I wanted to provide adaptive fitness programs for adults with cerebral palsy, especially because so many services disappear once someone turns eighteen. What started as teaching one group class eventually evolved into something much bigger. Over time, the mission expanded into helping people on weight loss journeys reconnect with themselves and build a forever active lifestyle that aligns with who they are inside and out.None of that was planned from the beginning. It evolved because I took the first step.We also talk about how the fitness industry and the broader marketing world often reinforce the idea that you need someone else to tell you what to do. The truth is, you already have more knowledge than you think. You have lived your life. You have gathered experience. You are the architect of your own process. This episode is about trusting yourself enough to begin, even when you do not know how everything will unfold. It is about understanding that clarity comes through action, not before it. It is about recognizing that discomfort, uncertainty, and growth are all part of building something meaningful.I also share my personal journey of transitioning into marketing, working with teams that challenged and supported me, and applying those skills over time to grow Your Level Fitness. Every step forward created new opportunities that never would have existed if I had stayed where I was.Your dream does not need to be fully formed. It just needs a starting point. The question is simple. What is your biggest dream, and are you willing to take the first step toward it?Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Not necessarily what people say out loud, but the opinions you assume they have about you. The ones that make you hesitate. The ones that make you question whether you should even try. Here is the truth. The people who are going to have an opinion about you are going to have that opinion whether you take action or not. Waiting does not protect you. Avoiding the thing you want does not change what they think. It only changes what you allow yourself to experience. This is where the inside/out approach becomes your foundation.Logically, you already know you cannot control their opinion. But emotionally, you have to make a decision. You have to decide that you are the type of person who does the thing. Not someday. Not when you feel ready. Now. That decision is not about having everything figured out. It is about trusting yourself enough to take the first step and believing that you will figure out the rest as you go.So many people wait for proof before they believe in themselves. They wait for results. They wait for validation. They wait for permission. But the real shift happens when you choose the belief first, and then use your actions to reinforce that belief. You only have one life. You deserve to live it fully. You deserve to go after what matters to you without constantly filtering yourself through imagined judgment. This episode is your reminder that the first step is enough. Not perfect action. They are part of your life.In this episode, I talk about why leaning into obstacles instead of resisting them is one of the most important skills you can develop. Because no matter who you are, no matter what path you are on, obstacles are going to happen. Some will be minor. Some will completely change your direction. Some will slow you down in ways you never expected. But none of them have the power to take you out unless you stop trusting yourself. We talk about the emotional weight that comes with difficult moments. The discomfort. The uncertainty. The pauses that sometimes last longer than you want them to. And why allowing yourself to feel those moments is part of navigating them in a healthy way. This episode reinforces that you do not need to rush your healing or force yourself forward before you are ready. Sometimes collecting yourself takes time. Sometimes it takes weeks, months, or longer. But through it all, the most important thing you can do is continue trusting that you will find your way forward.Because you will.Life continues to move forward. You continue to move forward. And the strength that you need to navigate obstacles has always been inside you. This is about removing the mental tug of war. This is about reconnecting with yourself. And it is not what most people think. It is not about grinding yourself into exhaustion or proving something to other people. It is about learning how to manage your energy, trust yourself, and follow through on what matters to you.We talk about why mental fatigue is a signal, not a weakness. Why stepping away from something can actually preserve your focus instead of destroying it. And how recharging your mind is part of building long term consistency.I also share how fear of starting held me back early in my marketing career. The hesitation. The self doubt. The rationalization. The constant internal negotiation that kept me from putting myself out there. And how everything changed once I simply allowed myself to start.Starting is awkward. Continuing is uncomfortable. But both are necessary. This episode is about recognizing the difference between resting and quitting. It is about pacing yourself so you can stay in the game long enough to figure things out. It is about blocking out the noise from people, trends, and expectations that have nothing to do with your actual path. Most importantly, it is about understanding that you already have everything inside you to do the things you want to do.Health and fitness is often the starting point because it is measurable. It is clear. It is where you can build consistency and confidence. But the mental drive you develop there expands into every other area of your life. This is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming someone who trusts themselves. You do not need more motivation. You do not need more information. You need to protect your mind, start where you are, and continue moving forward at your pace. The mental drive you are looking for is already there. I rebuilt my habits around what I actually enjoy, what fits my schedule, and what I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. No strict dieting. No food guilt. No all or nothing thinking.I walk you through how I gradually lost weight by cooking more at home, tracking meals with photos, learning my natural meal timing, rotating simple foods I like, and building a flexible workout routine that works with my body, not against it. Even with injuries and curveballs, I focused on small adjustments instead of starting over. This is not a transformation story. It is a sustainability story. It is about learning yourself, honoring your preferences, and building a lifestyle you do not need a break from.If you have spent years dieting, restarting, or feeling like you already know what to do but cannot stick with it, this episode will show you a calmer and more realistic path forward. Falling off. Getting motivated. Burning out. Trying again. If that sounds familiar, I want you to consider something different. What if the goal is not faster results, but longer results? From my background in both fitness and marketing, I explain how these messages keep us chasing the next solution while disconnecting from ourselves.Instead of another plan, I share the idea of building a foundation around your preferences. A framework that goes underneath any approach you choose. One that helps you untangle your relationship with food, movement, and self image so you can finally trust yourself. You already know more than you think. You have years of experience. This is about organizing that experience and building something sustainable. If you are ready to stop the mental tug of war and create something that lasts, this episode will help you take that first step. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Every goal in your life comes down to daily decisions. What you choose to do right now, or what you choose not to do. When you slow down, honor your emotions, and bring yourself back to center, those decisions become clearer and more logical. We also dig into why fitness and weight loss are not purely logical problems. They are emotional ones shaped by years of experiences, beliefs, and self perception. When you lead with kindness and compassion toward yourself and trust your ability to adjust along the way, progress becomes sustainable and a lot less chaotic. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Not because of luck or timing, but because you are finally acting in alignment with who you actually are, not who you think you are supposed to be.In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I talk about what it really means to be yourself and why so many of us spend years suppressing the very traits that make us unique. From an early age, we learn to fit in, to smooth out the edges, and to hide the parts of ourselves that feel different. Over time, that self suppression becomes normal, even when it feels heavy and exhausting.I walk through how intent matters when you are trying to grow or change. Are you exploring new versions of yourself because they align with who you are at your core, or because you are desperate for acceptance? That distinction changes everything. When your actions come from self appreciation instead of self criticism, relationships shift, anxiety softens, and the right people begin to gravitate toward you naturally. We also talk about why this work is best done with kindness and compassion, especially toward yourself. Honest self reflection does not require tearing yourself down. It requires observation, patience, and often support. Therapy can be an incredibly helpful space for this kind of work when there is trust and rapport. This episode ties directly into the inside/out approach behind Your Level Fitness. Choosing to believe in yourself first and reinforcing that belief through deliberate actions creates a calmer, more sustainable way to live, train, work, and connect with others. If you have ever felt like you were walking on eggshells, trying to be someone else, or chasing acceptance at the expense of your peace, this conversation is for you. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. There is no one else like you. No one has your exact mix of experiences, personality, beliefs, strengths, and challenges. And the more you lean into that truth, the easier it becomes to stop comparing yourself to what everyone else is doing.Social media and modern culture are designed to keep you tethered to other peoples opinions and highlight reels. It is incredibly easy to scroll, look around, and convince yourself that someone else is doing it better than you. But the more connected you are to yourself, the less power those comparisons have.I talk about making a conscious decision to appreciate who and what you see when you look in the mirror, especially if you have spent years tearing yourself down out of habit. That habit can be replaced. You can choose to build yourself up, reinforce that belief daily, and create a healthier relationship with yourself that supports everything else you are working toward. This episode is about reconnecting with yourself, appreciating your uniqueness, and choosing to live from the inside/out. When you do that, not only does comparison lose its grip, but the goals you chase and the life you build often begin to shift in ways that feel more aligned and fulfilling. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. I talk about how the fitness industry has marketed against our insecurities for decades and why that approach never actually fixes the mental tug of war around food, exercise, and the mirror.I share a different way forward that starts with how you see yourself, not with another plan or program. When you build appreciation and respect for yourself at every stage, everything else changes. Your approach to eating becomes preference based instead of restrictive. Your approach to movement becomes something you enjoy or are willing and able to do. From that calm headspace and deliberate pace, the actions become sustainable and the results become a byproduct instead of the obsession. We also talk about why habit based coaching works and where it falls apart if you ignore the emotional side of weight loss. I explain why an inside/out approach matters, how to track progress without spiraling, and why focusing on what you can control brings you back into a sense of competence and calm. This is about building a foundation you can return to no matter what challenge, diet, or phase you experiment with along the way. This episode is about creating a new normal in weight loss, one built around confidence, capability, and a forever active lifestyle that actually fits your life. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. This is not about faking it, proving yourself, or trying to look like you belong. It is about being connected with who you are, trusting yourself, and moving forward with a calm and deliberate pace.I talk about why confidence is not having all the answers. Real confidence is trusting that you will figure out what you need to figure out as you go. It is about making decisions, learning from them, and adjusting without draining your mental energy trying to impress other people or avoid being seen as an imposter. We also talk about what happens when your mind jumps, how to bring yourself back to center, and why I focus on being in a calm and deliberate headspace most of the time, not perfectly, but intentionally. In this episode, I talk about why loving who you are has to come before you can truly appreciate what you have built. When you choose to believe that you deserve love and respect, and that you have been through a lot, you start to see your results differently. You stop chasing change from a place of hate and start choosing growth from a place of appreciation. We talk about how people often move their old ways of avoiding feelings into fitness and weight loss, and why changing your body will never fix what you refuse to face. Real change happens when you connect with yourself and learn to value the person before the progress. If you want to finally appreciate the results you have worked so hard for, it starts with learning to love who you see in the mirror and building an inside/out life from that place. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. In this episode, I break down what that actually looks like in real life. It comes down to making hard choices. Not once. Not occasionally. But consistently. We talk about choosing to see the best in yourself, staying connected to who you are, setting and enforcing boundaries, knowing your worth, and having the uncomfortable conversations most people avoid. These are the choices that build momentum over time. These are the choices that separate people who grow from people who stay stuck. We also get into why eating well and exercising matter, but why they are often the easiest part of the process. The deeper work is learning to advocate for yourself, take responsibility without blaming yourself for everything, listen to what you need, and stop distracting yourself from the uncomfortable truth of your own emotions. If you want to stand out, if you want real confidence, if you want lasting change in your fitness and your life, it starts with connecting to yourself and doing the things most people will not do. In this episode, I am going to tell you to be obsessed with something else. Be obsessed with getting connected to and staying connected to yourself. When you are connected to yourself, you stop running races that were never yours to begin with. You stop yelling at yourself in borrowed voices and start listening to the quieter, truer voice underneath all the noise. That is where your real wants, fears, failures, and desires live. That is where compassion and accountability can exist at the same time.We talk about why surface level motivation is not enough, why copying other people keeps you disconnected, and why choosing yourself always comes before reinforcing anything. When you know yourself, you do not have to pretend. You can build from a calm, deliberate place and run your own race in your own way.If you are going to obsess about anything, let it be this. That invisible trap where you stop doing what matters to you because you are worried about what someone else might think. Most people are not actually focused on you. They are focused on how they are being seen, judged, and perceived. Yet we hold ourselves back, change our behavior, or stay quiet because of opinions that are mostly imagined.I walk through why chasing approval is exhausting, why it never leads to fulfillment, and how it keeps you disconnected from yourself. I also talk about what it looks like to reconnect with who you are, appreciate your effort, notice your wins, and gently adjust when you need to.This episode is about choosing you. Not in a selfish way, but in an honest way. The people who truly matter will not require you to prove yourself. They will support you being you, just like you support them being them. These shorter episodes are designed to give you something to think about in just a few minutes each day. Faster than most of us want to admit. In this short Almost Daily episode, I talk about what really matters when you zoom out and look at how quickly time passes. We spend so much mental energy on our bodies, food, exercise, and how we think we are supposed to look. But underneath all of that is something bigger. How you feel about yourself. How you treat other people. How you show up in your relationships, your friendships, and your family.I talk about grudges, comparison, and the opinions you have put ahead of your own. One day, all of that noise goes away. What is left is how you lived, how you loved, and how you treated yourself along the way. This is about learning to appreciate yourself. It is about enjoying what you can while you can. It is about helping other people, taking chances, and doing the things you have been too scared to try. What if you fail? Who cares. Not trying at all costs you more than trying and missing. This is the inside/out approach. Connecting with yourself first, then living outwardly from that place. It shows up in fitness, but it also shows up in every part of life.Take this episode as a reminder. Life is short. Your voice matters. Your choices matter. How do you see yourself, how do you see your life, and how do you explain the things that are happening around you?In this episode, I talk about how your internal story shapes your actions. If something in your life is within your control and you do not like it, you can change the story you are telling yourself about it. When the story changes, your actions can change too.But this is not about forcing yourself to be perfect or trying to optimize every single day of your life. Growth happens over time. Change happens when you are ready. The real work starts with connecting to yourself and learning how to observe your thoughts instead of fighting them.I talk about noticing the story you tell yourself about who you are. Not judging it. Not shaming it. Just seeing it clearly. Not because you failed, but because the game was set up in a way that taught you to chase weight loss as the answer to how you feel about yourself. In this episode, I talk about why weight loss was sold as a shortcut to confidence, why you were never taught how to build a real foundation, and why tactics without a foundation never last. I break down why exercise and an eating plan matter, but only as part of a bigger picture that includes how you think, how you treat yourself, and how you live your life.I also share why your health habits should matter about as much as brushing your teeth. Important, consistent, part of your life, but not something you destroy yourself over when you miss a day.You do not have to live in a constant mental tug of war. You do not have to keep losing a game you were never given the rules to. What is that resentment giving you.Resentment always gives you something. It might fuel anger. It might help you avoid feeling deeper pain. It might protect you from facing something you are not ready to face yet. There is no wrong answer here. There is only your honest answer. In this episode, I walk you through how to look at your resentment without judgment. Not to force yourself to let it go. Not to pretend you are fine. Just to notice what you are getting from holding on.Then comes the real question. Are you ready to loosen your grip. Not perfectly. Not all at once. Just enough to let some of the heaviness go.Resentment is heavy. It weighs on your mind. It weighs on your body. It shows up in how you move through your days. It tears you down from the inside.I also share how I have worked to let go of grudges in my own life. What helped me most was remembering that most people are just trying to figure things out, just like you. And as wild as it sounds, if someone is the villain in your story, there is a good chance you are the villain in someone else's story too.Life is too short to stay stuck in resentment forever. Timing matters. You will let go when you are ready, and not a moment sooner. Anything. In this episode, I walk you through how to take one simple daily action, put a clear time window around it, and follow through without fail. Not to impress anyone. Not to prove anything. Just to start rebuilding trust with yourself. Most people are more consistent than they think. The problem is they keep starting too far ahead of where they actually are. When you start with what you already do and make it intentional, you begin to see that follow through is not something you lack. It is something you have just never been taught how to build from the right starting point. We talk about why missed goals do not mean you are broken. There are things that I would never personally use, and things I would not recommend to certain people, but that does not mean they cannot work for someone else. What matters most is not defending a system, a diet, or a method, but understanding why something works for you.I talk about how easy it is to turn fitness into a battleground of right and wrong. I am not interested in standing on a soapbox telling you what you should or should not do. I care about helping you find what actually fits your life, your needs, and your long term goals. If something is working for you, I want to know why. That curiosity matters more to me than being “right.”We also talk about the role of doctors, personal history, and individual needs. Some people follow direct medical guidance. Some people simply update their doctor on what they are doing. Either way, your plan should make sense for you. My role is not to override medical advice, but to help you connect with yourself and build an active life you actually enjoy.I share why I live somewhere between diet culture and the anti diet movement. You usually need pieces of both. You need structure and flexibility. You need intention and permission. Most of all, you need to stop trying to force yourself into someone else's version of “right.”This episode is about choosing curiosity over combat. Your choices, your goals, your habits, or the way you are trying to live your life?In this episode, I talk about why the need to justify yourself can quietly drain your energy and keep you stuck. Yes, there are responsibilities and roles you need to follow through on. That part matters. But not everyone deserves access to your reasoning, your plans, or your internal process. We dig into why we often seek approval from people whose lives we would not actually want, and how repeatedly explaining yourself can become a distraction from doing the work that matters to you. I also talk about the difference between listening to feedback once versus habitually defending yourself over and over again. This conversation is especially relevant if you are on a weight loss or personal growth journey and feel pressure to defend your choices around food, exercise, boundaries, or lifestyle changes. Learning when to stop explaining yourself is part of building confidence, self trust, and an inside/out way of living. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. I use a simple example most people can relate to, the morning alarm. Every time you hit snooze, you are quietly breaking a promise you made to yourself, often without realizing it.I explain why starting your day by keeping one small promise can shift your mindset, your energy, and how you see yourself. When you follow through early, momentum builds. Before you know it, you have already kept several promises to yourself, and that changes how you move through the rest of your day. This conversation ties directly into fitness, weight loss, and personal growth. Confidence does not come from doing everything perfectly. It comes from doing what you said you would do, starting small, and stacking follow through over time. If you have been struggling with consistency or self belief, this episode gives you a simple place to start. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Once you know where you stand, the next part is empowering. You decide what direction you want to move in and how you want to move forward. We talk about why change does not need to be all or nothing. You can focus on one area of your life, make one adjustment, or take on something bigger, as long as you take it one step at a time. Life does not move in a straight line, and the path you think you are going to take will change as you go. That is normal. That is part of living.I also dive into why obsessing over the perfect plan keeps people stuck, and how learning through action is the only way to actually figure out what works for you. You are allowed to write your own rules, learn from what does not work, and keep going without turning setbacks into reasons to quit.We spend time talking about fitness and weight loss, especially for those who have been on this journey for years or decades. Health and fitness matter, but they are part of your life, not your entire identity. Workouts, food choices, and routines are tools to support the life you want, not proof of your worth. This episode is about ownership, self trust, pacing yourself, and building a headspace that allows you to go after what you want without burning yourself out. You are the architect of your life. You get to choose the direction, take the steps, make adjustments, and keep moving forward. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Not everything that happened to us was fair. Not everything was chosen. But at some point, responsibility becomes the key that unlocks change.I share a story from my childhood growing up with cerebral palsy and being told very early what the rules of my life were supposed to be. That moment shaped how I think about perspective, accountability, compassion, and choice. We are all dealt a hand. What matters is how we decide to play it.This conversation is especially important at the beginning of the year, when many people want to make changes without first getting honest about where they actually are. Before you can decide where you are going, you have to draw a line and clearly see where you stand today. We talk about separating what was outside of your control from what is within your control, taking responsibility without self blame, and choosing a direction that aligns with who you are. Progress is not linear. The path will change. But you can choose a different direction at any time. This episode is a reminder that time matters, regret weighs heavy, and building a life that fits you is worth the effort. When you start showing up for yourself and surrounding yourself with people who support the life you are trying to live, things do start to change. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Not who you are for your job, your family, or the roles you play for other people, but who you are when it is just you showing up for you.I talk about how easy it is to define ourselves by titles, responsibilities, and expectations, and how rarely we pause to ask whether we are being kind and compassionate to ourselves in the process. I share personal reflections from growing up with cerebral palsy, the lifelong desire to fit in, and how that search for belonging often turns into being overly critical of ourselves. We explore why connection to yourself matters, how accountability does not have to come at the expense of compassion, and why nobody can show up for you the way you can. This is not about isolating yourself or doing everything alone. It is about building a relationship with yourself that supports the life you want to live.I also explain how this mindset shows up in fitness, why I stepped away from insecurity based marketing, and how focusing on the why behind your actions creates habits you actually want to maintain for the rest of your life.If you have been feeling stretched thin, burned out, or disconnected from yourself, this episode is a reminder to soften a little, check in honestly, and start showing up for yourself with the same care you give to everyone else. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. This is not about blaming yourself for everything or ignoring the reality that some things are outside of your control. It is about recognizing where you do have agency, where you can make changes, and how shifting from pointing fingers to pointing the thumb creates a more empowered and grounded way to move forward. I share why looking honestly at your role in relationships, work, health, and personal growth requires awareness, nuance, and self reflection. We explore how focusing on what is within your control reduces helplessness, builds confidence, and opens the door to meaningful change, even when circumstances are not ideal. I also talk about the value of therapy in uncovering blind spots, and how self paced practices like fitness, journaling, and daily structure can support an inside/out approach to growth. This episode is about choosing responsibility without shame, optimism without denial, and action without waiting for perfect conditions. It is an invitation to reconnect with yourself, believe in your ability to change, and keep moving forward one step at a time. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Helping others is not the problem. The problem is when helping turns into losing your voice, your wants, and eventually your sense of self.I break down how this happens slowly and quietly, why it is understandable, and why it still matters that you protect who you are. As we move into a new year, this is a reminder to be kind and compassionate with yourself while also recommitting to advocating for your own needs. You do not have to choose between caring for others and caring for yourself. You can do both, intentionally and without losing yourself in the process. This episode reinforces the inside/out approach to personal growth, consistency, and self respect, where your worth is not tied to how much you sacrifice, but to how well you stay connected to yourself. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories.
