Your choices, your goals, your habits, or the way you are trying to live your life?In this episode, I talk about why the need to justify yourself can quietly drain your energy and keep you stuck. Yes, there are responsibilities and roles you need to follow through on. That part matters. But not everyone deserves access to your reasoning, your plans, or your internal process. We dig into why we often seek approval from people whose lives we would not actually want, and how repeatedly explaining yourself can become a distraction from doing the work that matters to you. I also talk about the difference between listening to feedback once versus habitually defending yourself over and over again. This conversation is especially relevant if you are on a weight loss or personal growth journey and feel pressure to defend your choices around food, exercise, boundaries, or lifestyle changes. Learning when to stop explaining yourself is part of building confidence, self trust, and an inside/out way of living. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. I use a simple example most people can relate to, the morning alarm. Every time you hit snooze, you are quietly breaking a promise you made to yourself, often without realizing it.I explain why starting your day by keeping one small promise can shift your mindset, your energy, and how you see yourself. When you follow through early, momentum builds. Before you know it, you have already kept several promises to yourself, and that changes how you move through the rest of your day. This conversation ties directly into fitness, weight loss, and personal growth. Confidence does not come from doing everything perfectly. It comes from doing what you said you would do, starting small, and stacking follow through over time. Once you know where you stand, the next part is empowering. You decide what direction you want to move in and how you want to move forward. We talk about why change does not need to be all or nothing. You can focus on one area of your life, make one adjustment, or take on something bigger, as long as you take it one step at a time. Life does not move in a straight line, and the path you think you are going to take will change as you go. That is normal. That is part of living.I also dive into why obsessing over the perfect plan keeps people stuck, and how learning through action is the only way to actually figure out what works for you. You are allowed to write your own rules, learn from what does not work, and keep going without turning setbacks into reasons to quit.We spend time talking about fitness and weight loss, especially for those who have been on this journey for years or decades. Health and fitness matter, but they are part of your life, not your entire identity. Workouts, food choices, and routines are tools to support the life you want, not proof of your worth. This episode is about ownership, self trust, pacing yourself, and building a headspace that allows you to go after what you want without burning yourself out. You are the architect of your life. Not everything that happened to us was fair. Not everything was chosen. But at some point, responsibility becomes the key that unlocks change.I share a story from my childhood growing up with cerebral palsy and being told very early what the rules of my life were supposed to be. That moment shaped how I think about perspective, accountability, compassion, and choice. We are all dealt a hand. What matters is how we decide to play it.This conversation is especially important at the beginning of the year, when many people want to make changes without first getting honest about where they actually are. Before you can decide where you are going, you have to draw a line and clearly see where you stand today. We talk about separating what was outside of your control from what is within your control, taking responsibility without self blame, and choosing a direction that aligns with who you are. Progress is not linear. The path will change. But you can choose a different direction at any time. This episode is a reminder that time matters, regret weighs heavy, and building a life that fits you is worth the effort. Not who you are for your job, your family, or the roles you play for other people, but who you are when it is just you showing up for you.I talk about how easy it is to define ourselves by titles, responsibilities, and expectations, and how rarely we pause to ask whether we are being kind and compassionate to ourselves in the process. I share personal reflections from growing up with cerebral palsy, the lifelong desire to fit in, and how that search for belonging often turns into being overly critical of ourselves. We explore why connection to yourself matters, how accountability does not have to come at the expense of compassion, and why nobody can show up for you the way you can. This is not about isolating yourself or doing everything alone. It is about building a relationship with yourself that supports the life you want to live.I also explain how this mindset shows up in fitness, why I stepped away from insecurity based marketing, and how focusing on the why behind your actions creates habits you actually want to maintain for the rest of your life.If you have been feeling stretched thin, burned out, or disconnected from yourself, this episode is a reminder to soften a little, check in honestly, and start showing up for yourself with the same care you give to everyone else. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. This is not about blaming yourself for everything or ignoring the reality that some things are outside of your control. It is about recognizing where you do have agency, where you can make changes, and how shifting from pointing fingers to pointing the thumb creates a more empowered and grounded way to move forward. I share why looking honestly at your role in relationships, work, health, and personal growth requires awareness, nuance, and self reflection. We explore how focusing on what is within your control reduces helplessness, builds confidence, and opens the door to meaningful change, even when circumstances are not ideal. I also talk about the value of therapy in uncovering blind spots, and how self paced practices like fitness, journaling, and daily structure can support an inside/out approach to growth. This episode is about choosing responsibility without shame, optimism without denial, and action without waiting for perfect conditions. Helping others is not the problem. The problem is when helping turns into losing your voice, your wants, and eventually your sense of self.I break down how this happens slowly and quietly, why it is understandable, and why it still matters that you protect who you are. As we move into a new year, this is a reminder to be kind and compassionate with yourself while also recommitting to advocating for your own needs. You do not have to choose between caring for others and caring for yourself. You can do both, intentionally and without losing yourself in the process. This episode reinforces the inside/out approach to personal growth, consistency, and self respect, where your worth is not tied to how much you sacrifice, but to how well you stay connected to yourself. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. That does not mean you are wrong. It does not mean you need to justify yourself. It simply means you are in a different place than they are.In this episode, I talk about the idea that explaining yourself is a choice. Letting someone into your thinking, your goals, and your process is a privilege, not an obligation. Not everyone needs access to that part of you, and not everyone is meant to understand what you are building right now.We also talk about how easy it is to waste energy trying to convince people who are not ready or willing to see things differently. Having a plan is important, but life rarely moves in a straight line from point A to point B, and the route or even the destination often changes along the way. Most people are sold outcomes, some are sold habits, but very few conversations go deeper into what is underneath those actions in the first place. That internal layer, your beliefs, your self image, your emotional and mental framework, is where everything either holds together or eventually falls apart .I walk through the foundation of the work I teach, learning to love and appreciate the body you have and the person underneath it, developing real self confidence that comes from trusting yourself, and building consistency as a skill rather than chasing motivation. This is the inside/out approach to fitness and life, starting where you are, honoring your preferences, removing guilt and shame from food and movement, and creating a structure you can live with for decades, not weeks.I also share personal context from my own journey with cerebral palsy, how adaptation, patience, and self respect have shaped the way I train, eat, and show up in the world. This episode is about moving away from insecurity driven marketing and pressure, and toward calm confidence, deliberate pace, and sustainable habits that support your quality of life long term.If you are tired of restarting, forcing yourself into plans that do not fit, or feeling like something is missing even when you do everything right, this episode will help you understand what actually creates lasting change. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Internal optimism, calmness, peace, and drive do not come from waiting until you feel confident. They start with choosing a direction and trusting yourself enough to take the next step.I talk about why simply taking action in hopes that belief will magically show up often leads to imposter syndrome. Belief does not come after perfection. It is reinforced through consistent steps taken with intention. This applies to goals, careers, fitness, and the way we learn to live in our bodies.I also explain why this matters so deeply in the fitness space, especially in an industry that has spent decades marketing against our insecurities. Living an inside/out life means choosing to appreciate the body you have while still working toward growth. It is a practice, not a destination, and one that I actively work on myself every day.My hope with this episode is to remind you that you already have what you need inside you to make meaningful change. This is not about ignoring problems or pretending everything is fine. Some things are heavy. Some things genuinely suck. But if you do not like what you are experiencing, there is a path forward, and it starts with taking ownership of your perception and your actions. The world feels loud and overwhelming right now, and most of what we consume by default does not help us feel calmer, grounded, or steady. When we absorb what is considered average or normal without intention, anxiety and unease tend to follow. In this episode, I explain why taking responsibility for your life does not mean controlling everything. It means choosing a realistic and optimistic approach that allows you to navigate challenges without losing yourself in them.I also share how reinforcing this mindset matters just as much as choosing it in the first place. That is where consistent structure, reflection, and daily reminders come in. Whether that looks like journaling, listening to past episodes, or getting support through the Your Level Fitness self paced resources, the goal is to build a calmer and more deliberate way of living over time.If you are brand new to the podcast, welcome. If you have been listening for a while, I appreciate you more than you know. We all learn through experience, but there are moments where observation can save us time, energy, and unnecessary struggle if we are willing to pay attention and reflect honestly.I share why this kind of learning requires humility, curiosity, and perspective. We never have the full context of someone else's situation, but we can still notice patterns, outcomes, and decisions that either move people closer to what they want or farther away from it. The goal is not judgment. The goal is awareness. This conversation also moves into how we treat others when they are going through difficult seasons. If we are honest, most people are carrying something, even when it is not visible. I explain why leading with kindness, compassion, and grace matters just as much as being honest and direct. This applies to how we treat others and how we treat ourselves. From there, I connect this idea to the inside/out approach I teach through fitness and beyond. Too many people have spent years tying their worth to their body, their progress, or how they look in the mirror. Real sustainability starts when you connect with yourself, respect your preferences, and build habits you can actually live with long term.If you want to stop bumping your head into the same lessons, build awareness through observation, and create a calmer and more aligned way of living, this episode will give you plenty to reflect on.Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Whether things feel amazing or feel like they are falling apart, the goal is to step back, regain perspective, and operate from a calm mind at a deliberate pace as often as you can.I break down why this logical approach to life works, but also why it cannot ignore emotions. We are emotional beings, even when we wish we were not. The work is not to suppress emotions or pretend they do not exist, but to acknowledge them, feel them, and then place healthy boundaries around how much they get to define how you see yourself. This conversation is about learning how to ride the waves without letting them carry you too far in either direction. It is about staying grounded when things are going well, and staying steady when things feel heavy. This perspective supports better decision making, clearer headspace, and a more sustainable inside/out approach to life, fitness, and personal growth. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Yes, this applies to fitness and weight loss, but it also extends into every other area of life. I talk about why so many people struggle to stay consistent even when they know exactly what to do, and why building something around what you enjoy and are willing to do is the real starting point for long term change.I share why I stay away from prescribing rigid systems and instead focus on structures and frameworks that help you observe patterns, track trends, and make informed adjustments over time. This episode leans heavily into mindset, headspace, self trust, and confidence, because when those pieces are in place, the tactics finally stick. Weight loss, body composition changes, and external results become byproducts instead of constant pressure points. This is also a more reflective, audio journal style episode where I explain how I approach coaching, content, and guidance without positioning myself as an expert with all the answers. My goal is to help you think differently about why you do or do not follow through, and how appreciating yourself from the inside can change everything about how you show up for your health and your life Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Not in a loud or performative way, but in the quiet decisions that no one else can see. In this episode, I talk about the difference between natural evolution and intentional reinvention, especially when it comes to letting go of old labels that no longer serve you.We dig into the fear that keeps people stuck, fear of failure, fear of judgment, and fear of feeling awkward when you try something new. I share why that uneasiness never fully goes away, but how you can become more comfortable with it when you stay connected to who you actually are and where you want to go in this season of your life.I also talk about distraction, isolation, and how easy it is to stay floating exactly where you are when everything around you reinforces the same thoughts and beliefs. Reinvention requires connection, to yourself first, and then to people who challenge and support you in a real give and take way. This episode is an invitation to reflect. What have you settled for? This is a continuation of the conversation around taking responsibility for your own life and owning the choices you are making. Not from a place of pressure or motivation talk, but from a place of honesty and self awareness. Sometimes the most important step is not changing anything at all. It is simply knowing.I talk about why settling is not automatically a failure. Sometimes settling is a conscious choice. Sometimes it is the easier option. Sometimes it is the comfort you actually want right now. And there is nothing wrong with that. The problem usually comes when we pretend we are stuck instead of admitting we are choosing. We also get into what really happens when you do decide to change. It is rarely a dramatic overnight transformation. It involves pauses, adjustments, reassessment, and sometimes intentional breaks. Continuing forward thoughtfully is often more courageous than taking the first step. This episode is about giving yourself permission to tell the truth about where you are. Whether you decide to stay or move in a new direction, you deserve to know what you are choosing and why. That awareness alone can change how you experience frustration, anxiety, and self judgment. If you are trying to live an inside/out life, this kind of reflection matters. Knowing yourself matters. There are things that are outside of your control and always will be, but there is also a lot that is within your control. When you consistently focus on what you can influence, you begin to feel grounded, capable, and calm instead of reactive and overwhelmed. This conversation is about ownership without blame. It is about understanding that your headspace, your mindset, and the way you interpret what is happening around you will shape the direction you move in. This is not about pretending everything is positive or thinking your way out of reality. It is about trusting yourself to figure things out as you go, even when you do not have all the answers yet.I also talk about belief, not fake confidence or empty motivation, but a genuine belief in your ability to learn, adapt, and navigate challenges. You have already proven this by getting yourself to where you are right now. You are still here. You are still moving. In this episode, I want to focus on the other side of that conversation, what happens when you say yes. More specifically, why you are saying yes matters more than most people realize. When you agree to help someone, that situation now becomes part of your world. If things do not go smoothly, frustration and resentment can creep in fast, especially if you agreed out of obligation instead of genuine desire. I break down how doing the right thing for the wrong reason can quietly damage relationships and your own sense of calm. This episode is a reminder to slow down before agreeing to anything. Helping others can be a beautiful thing when it comes from a real place of choice. It becomes heavy when it comes from guilt, pressure, or fear of disappointing someone. The goal is not to stop helping people, it is to help in a way that aligns with how you actually want to show up in your life. This ties directly into an inside/out approach to decision making, self trust, and emotional awareness. The tech we have now is incredible and much more accessible than it used to be, but it is not meant to be perfect. It is a baseline, a snapshot of where you are right now, so you can pay attention to trends over time instead of obsessing over a single reading.I share how I look at my own data, from steps and workouts to sleep and blood pressure, including moments where the numbers clearly miss the mark. The goal is not one hundred percent accuracy, the goal is consistent action. When you show up and are roughly sixty to seventy percent on target most of the time, you will get better long term results than chasing perfection, burning out, falling off, and restarting over and over.If you are someone who fixates on calories, macros, or daily stats, this conversation is a reminder to zoom out, use the information as a tool, and keep doing the best you can daily or almost daily. Your progress is built on patterns, not isolated numbers, and you have more room to breathe and adjust than you might think. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. This is not an either or situation. It is an and. Therapy, exercise, medication, and every tool you use to support your mental and emotional health all work together, not in competition. I talk about what a productive relationship with a therapist actually looks like, why it is so hard to find, and why therapy is still the foundation of an inside/out process when it is accessible for you.I also break down a recent social media post that claimed exercise is more effective than therapy or medication. There is truth in the benefits of movement. There is also danger in oversimplifying mental health to a single solution. Exercise is a powerful tool, but it is not therapy. It can support your mental health, but it cannot replace the work that happens in a connected therapeutic relationship. As someone who has been in therapy for years, I share what the process has done for me and why I believe everyone deserves access to a therapist who can help them see their blind spots, develop skills, and work through their internal patterns. I also talk about how much the fitness space reinforces the belief that changing your body will fix how you feel, and how that leads many people into body dysmorphia and cycles of frustration. My hope with this episode is simple. If even one person hears this and begins to be easier on themselves, recognizes their own resilience, or takes a step toward connecting with who they are beneath the surface, then the conversation served its purpose. You deserve tools. You deserve support. You deserve to feel at home in your own head. And you can build that one honest step at a time. Please share your thoughts with me at daryl@yourlevelfitness.com. You have probably heard the idea that you should find your why but most of those answers are based on other people and expectations that live outside of you. The real why is the one that drives your actions day after day and it starts with seeing yourself clearly exactly as you are right now without judgment or criticism. This process takes time because there is so much you have to cut through. Your sense of self shapes every choice you make in fitness weight loss and every other area of life. Once you can see who you are right now you can start exploring how you want to see yourself which creates a bridge you can actually walk across. As you evolve the picture will change and that is exactly how it should be.When your actions are built around what you genuinely like and what you are willing and able to do you no longer have to force consistency. You enjoy what you are doing so you naturally show up. That is why fitness and eating strategies based on your preferences are always more sustainable than anything that requires willpower alone. The results become the byproduct not the primary target.I also talk about therapy and how valuable it can be when you are doing this deeper connection work. Not every therapist will be the right fit and that is normal. A productive working relationship can support you as you reinforce how you want to see yourself every day but this work still starts with you.As always I want to hear your thoughts. True accountability starts with being able to look yourself in the eye and take ownership of your choices. You can have support, you can have connections, and you should, but your foundation has to come from you. When you build that connection, you are better equipped to decide who gets access to you and to what level.I also dive into why most people should not have front row seats to your life. You are not responsible for their opinions and they are not entitled to your inner world. At the same time, isolating yourself is not the answer either. I walk you through the idea of having two standards, your minimums and your achievement goals, and how the minimum standards form the foundation for confidence, momentum, and long term follow through. Your minimums are not about lowering the bar or barely getting by. They are about starting where you are, building a habit of taking action, and stacking small wins that lead to bigger goals.I also talk about why building your baseline around your preferences is so important. It makes taking action enjoyable which means it becomes repeatable. Once you build that foundation, you can start pushing the achievement side of things with genuine confidence and curiosity. Those two skills will take you anywhere you want to go.We also get into the idea that consistency is a skill you train just like anything else. You decide who you want to be, you take the smallest step forward, you repeat it, and you build from there. Over time your identity, your goals, and even your future direction may shift. That is not failure. That is curiosity doing its job.If you feel stuck or overwhelmed, this is a powerful place to start. Your foundation matters. Your minimums matter. Who actually benefits the most when you choose macro tracking as your preferred eating strategy. Spoiler alert, it is not you. It is the food industry.I share my thoughts as someone who has spent years working in both fitness and marketing, crafting messaging strategies and seeing how companies target your insecurities and your desire to feel in control. I am not saying macros are bad and I am not saying you should not use them. What I am doing is giving you another way to look at what you are doing and why you are doing it, especially if you feel dependent on tracking to feel in control of your eating. We talk about packaged food marketing, how labels are built to pull you in, why so many people cling to tracking as their safety blanket, and how the lack of an exit strategy keeps you coming back. I also explain why I prefer photo journaling for most everyday people who want long term results without obsessing over numbers. This episode is not about absolutes. It is about awareness. It is about understanding how the industry benefits from your habits and how you can start to make choices that align with your long term goals, your preferences, and your inside/out lifestyle. As always I want to hear your thoughts. Who or what offends you? Not because I want you to tell me, but because I want you to see what those moments reveal about you. When something or someone lights you up, there is almost always a deeper reason. Maybe it bumps into an old insecurity, a former version of you, or a part of your life that you have not fully let go of yet.Offense is information. If you get offended by the same things over and over again, especially with different people, it might show you where your unspoken expectations are. We all have expectations. We try to hide them, but they still drive our feelings and reactions. When you understand your expectations, you can turn them into communication instead of resentment. You can request what you need and the other person has every right to respond with yes or no.It is also possible that offense shows you where your opinions have become part of your identity. If someone challenges that opinion, it can feel like they are challenging you. That is a heavy way to live. Everybody has different experiences, and different opinions. So if some of this sounds like you, that is okay. This is information. This is how you learn, grow, and move forward in life. You can take a step back, assess, and decide how you want to respond. You can protect yourself with a boundary if needed, and you can do all of this without trying to control anyone else.Thank you for listening and watching. I appreciate you being here. What brings you peace? Not temporary escape. Not the approval of others. Real internal calm. We continue the conversation around worth and validation, and we look at how peace shows up when you begin trusting yourself to navigate life from a calmer headspace.I talk about why so many of us feel more familiar with chaos than with peace, and how uncomfortable it can be to experience calm when it finally arrives. You might even feel guilty for wanting peace because it seems foreign. But this is part of the work. The inside/out process involves sitting with your thoughts, allowing uncomfortable feelings to exist, and untangling long held patterns that keep you in survival mode.I also share thoughts on therapy and why developing a productive working relationship with a therapist can be life changing. It is not just signing up for therapy, it is learning to open up, recognize blind spots, and work together on navigating thoughts, habits and emotions. The goal is not to remove all challenges. The goal is to trust yourself more while facing them. Some things in life will never make sense. Some circumstances will not have a satisfying explanation. Peace is not having answers to everything. Peace is knowing you can handle life even when things are unresolved. It is feeling like you belong in your own body and in your own mind. That takes consistent practice, grace and a willingness to continue the conversation with yourself. If this message connects with you, I would love to hear your thoughts. Today we get into how this plays out in our daily lives when we start chasing external worth. We look at how early praise, fitting in, and approval from others quietly shape how we see ourselves. I share how this shows up in fitness when the process becomes another performance instead of a way to support your forever active lifestyle from the inside/out.I talk about how chasing productivity and moving nonstop can keep us from sitting with our thoughts and dealing with uncomfortable feelings. For many of us, staying busy is a way to outrun our inner dialogue. I share personal examples of how this has played out in my life and how seasons have slipped by because I was focused on what I could produce for others instead of learning how to sit with myself. You will hear why the mechanics of weight loss are not the issue for most people and why the real challenge is untangling how much value we place on being useful, productive, or impressive. I want fitness and every other part of your life to be something you do because it supports who you are, not something you use to prove your worth.By the end of this episode, you will have a clear reminder that your value should not rely on what you create or how well you perform. Worth is reinforced daily just like any skill. And the work of building it continues even when you have been on this path for years. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Why don't you think you're enough? I walk you through how this belief forms over decades, not from a single defining moment. You'll hear how the small experiences you collect over your life quietly build a story that convinces you that you don't belong or that you will never measure up.We get into how comparison takes root when you don't really know who you are. Not who you think you should be. Not who someone else appears to be. Who you actually are. If you don't have that clarity, anyone who looks confident becomes the standard. I explain how this shows up in fitness, in your goals, in your habits, and honestly, all throughout your life. You'll hear how high achievers often raise the bar every time they get close. I share personal examples from fitness, from YLF, and from the years where I tried to outrun discomfort by producing more and more. We talk about emptiness. We talk about sitting with yourself. We talk about why the hustle never ends until you choose to end it.I also cover the difference between improving yourself because you want to grow versus improving yourself because you feel empty. I share how productivity, content output, and chasing skills used to define my worth until I had to learn to exist without tying my value to what I produced. Then we get into trust. Trusting yourself is one of the hardest things you will ever do, especially if you have spent most of your life seeking permission, validation, or approval. You will not feel like you're enough until you learn to follow your own thoughts and take action on them.By the end of this episode, you'll understand that feeling enough is not a feeling that magically appears. It is something you practice and reinforce daily. You are enough right now. You can improve any area of your life that you want. But your worth has never been tied to achievement, output, or comparison. If you needed this episode, I'm glad you're here. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Most of us underestimate how much progress we've already made because we are our own harshest critic. We see every struggle, every pause, every setback, while assuming that everyone else is effortlessly moving forward.I break down the blind spots that show up when you forget that you are living a completely different life with different responsibilities, experiences, and challenges. You may not notice your own consistency. You may not see the skills you've developed. You may not acknowledge the resilience you show every time you get up and keep going after difficult seasons. But those things matter. They shape who you are becoming. We also talk about the habit of setting expectations that are so far beyond your current reality that you end up using perfection as a distraction. You tell yourself you need bigger goals or tighter standards, when the truth is you need simpler actions, clearer structure, and more compassion for yourself. Mastering the basics is what builds confidence. Confidence is what builds momentum. Momentum is what helps you trust yourself. And that trust is everything. When you trust yourself you stop giving up when things get messy. You stop assuming struggle means failure. You stop waiting for perfect conditions before you take action. You start seeing obstacles as part of the path, not proof that you should quit.Your pace, your path, and your progress are yours. There will be side quests, pauses, detours, bursts of energy, and slower seasons. All of it counts. All of it is part of running your own race with intention, awareness, and a calm headspace.Thank you for listening. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. I share how easy it is to rationalize our way out of taking action, convince ourselves that the timing isn't right, or believe our work isn't good enough to put out. I also talk about how quickly that mindset becomes a pattern that steals time we can never get back.I walk you through the early days of my blogging and podcasting journey, where I had the ideas, the plans, the drafts, and the structure, but still couldn't get myself to hit publish. It took me months to get a second podcast episode out because I was in my head about everything. What finally changed things was choosing to take action even before I felt ready, and deciding I was going to publish something no matter what. Once I did that, the fear loosened and curiosity took over. When you start believing you are capable and let your actions reinforce that belief, everything changes. You stop looking for permission. You stop trying to predict every outcome. You get curious about what might happen if you try something new. That curiosity is what led to this podcast. It's what led to the growth of the YLF blog. It's what led to building the entire YLF ecosystem that now supports your inside/out process.I also share how time has proven the value of simply showing up. In a year of almost daily blogging, the website grew from one hundred visits a month to six hundred. The path wasn't linear, and it never is. The ups and downs are part of the story. But progress only happens when you stop waiting and start creating.Time is moving fast. If you are in your thirties or forties, you feel that every single day. I do not want you to look back and regret the seasons of your life where you talked yourself out of taking action. You deserve better than that. You deserve to trust yourself, follow through, and take steps toward the life you want.Thank you for listening. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each major podcast directory. Most people only know parts of who you are, and many times they like the idea of you more than the full version of you. That's not a bad thing. It's just part of life, especially when you're building self-awareness and living from the inside/out.We all want to be understood, but the truth is that not everyone deserves full access to us. Knowing your worth isn't just about saying it, it's about enforcing it. Part of that enforcement means being selective about who gets your time and energy. Not everyone needs to know your story or understand your decisions. Let people think what they're going to think, because they will anyway. Most of the time, their opinions are reflections of how they see themselves, not you. This applies to every part of life, including fitness. People might judge your choices, your pace, or your goals without knowing your reasons. But you don't owe anyone an explanation for how you live your life or pursue your health. When you stop explaining and start living authentically, you free up a lot of mental energy to focus on your own growth. The smaller the circle of people who truly understand you, the calmer your life becomes. And the more you connect with yourself, the less you feel the need to be understood by others. That's one of the quietest and most powerful shifts you can make.Thank you for listening and for continuing to build this community focused on living from the inside/out.Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. You have spent years, maybe decades, carrying the weight of messages that told you that if you just lost enough, fixed enough, or proved enough, you would finally be worthy. I want to help you drop that story. We talk about what happens when you hit the goal, lose the weight, follow the program, use the tools, and still look in the mirror and feel the same. For so many, it is not just about seeing the same body. It is about feeling like the same person and still not liking that person. That is the part that hurts. That is where the real regret can creep in.Instead of living your entire life chasing quick fixes and external approval, I want you to build something you will actually want to do for the rest of your life. You already have what you need inside of you to do that. My role is to put out content that reminds you to appreciate yourself from the inside/out. The podcast, the blog, the emails, the resources are all there to reinforce a different kind of message. One that tells you that you are not behind, you are not in competition with anyone else, and your path is allowed to look different. We dig into how subtle and direct marketing, fitness culture, and comparison keep you feeling less than. We talk about the signs that you might be rationalizing a life that does not fit you. And we talk about how things shift when you are genuinely fulfilled and aligned. When you are connected to who you are, you start to want everyone to win, because you are finally on your path.I do not want you to regret the time and energy you have already spent. I want you to use everything you have learned to build a life, a process, and a relationship with yourself that actually feels like yours. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Trust yourself. If you've ever felt like you're not good enough, like you don't belong, or like you're faking it until you make it, this episode is for you. I talk about imposter syndrome, confidence, and what it really means to live life on your own terms. Confidence doesn't come from achieving enough to finally believe in yourself. It starts the moment you decide to.You can't think your way into self-trust through endless self-help content or action lists. You build genuine confidence by making a choice first, then reinforcing that belief through everything you do. I share how I've lived this firsthand—being five foot seven, bald, and living with a visible disability—and how choosing to believe in myself has shaped everything in my life. When you make that same choice, you stop chasing validation from others. You stop performing for approval. You begin building your life from the inside/out.This isn't about pretending to have it all figured out. It's about trusting that you'll figure it out as you go. Every single thing you do from that decision forward becomes evidence of your belief in yourself. It starts with one choice.
