To start, I would like to apologize for the sound quality in the interview with DJ Buza. I am not happy with it, but it wasn't a planned interview and we weren't 100% prepared to have a guest in the studio. But, we made it work and had a good interview with out good friend! At first we go in to a discussion about DaBaby and how gangster he is. It's quite entertaining. After that we dive in to how positive you need to be to be successful. Stop the hating!!! Finally, we get in to the actual interview. Here are the questions we asked DJ Buza: Tell us your story How was your transition from Florida to Vegas What struggles have you had being out in Vegas Did you have to adjust and play more West Coast music What are your upcoming projects The topic for DJing 101 this week is Networking, which is an exremely important thing in any industry, but more so in the entertainment industry. We go over the ways that we network and have done so over the years. Also, the proper way for a DJ to network with other DJs and industry professionals. This weeks 3 club songs that we chose were: Meduza feat. GOODBOYS - Piece Of Your Heart French Montana feat. City Girls - Wiggle It Sech feat. Darell, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Anuel AA - Otro Trago (Remix) We talk about each song in depth and how well the songs work in our markets, as well as other markets. Also, how Piece Of Your Heart was created to inspire other producers to make radio friendly house music. We talked about how Wiggle It uses a great sample to create a "twerkable" club banger. And how popular the original Otro Trago is and that the remix is even better and will be much more popular based on the artists that are involved. We only talked about 1 edit/bootleg/remix this week, and that was the Lion King Edits by Deville & Brain Dawe. They brought back something that they created a few years ago, but with 3 different drops. I hope you guys like it, and make sure to email us with any questions or topics you would like us to discuss. thetakeabreakpodcast@gmail.com

Next, Raphy asks Mister Gray some questions about his personal life and how he deals with having a family/kids and being a full time DJ/Producer. Then they discuss how Mister Gray's love for what he does and the love for his family/kids is what keeps him going, even when he doesn't sleep. After that, Raphy asks him what he would be doing if he wasn't DJing/Producing full time. Finally, they discuss college and the pros & cons of going to college. This weeks DJing 101 is preparing for a new venue. We talk about how to properly prepare for DJing at a new venue or a venue in general. This weeks 3 club songs are a little old and a little new, a little hip hop, a little latin. T.I. - Whatever You Like is the first one we discuss. After that, we talk about Bad Bunny - Callaita and end this section with the Summer 2019 ladies anthem, Saweetie - My Type. Last week we went over some radio specific songs, this week we discuss 3 edits/bootlegs/remixes that we really like right now. Joe Maz, DJs From Mars & Trayze are the DJs/Producers that we chose. I hope you guys like it, and make sure to email us with any questions or topics you would like us to discuss. thetakeabreakpodcast@gmail.com
Basically we dove in to artists asking for their song(s) to be played while you're DJing. We tell artists and/or managers how to properly go about sending DJs their music and getting it played at the venues that they DJ at. From there, we go in to taking requests as a DJ. We both take requests, but they need to adhere to the vibe and the format of that specific venue on that night. After that, we go in to DJing 101, which will be discussing things about DJing or things that DJs need to or should know. This week, we talk about reading a room, which is an extremely important thing when it comes to DJing. We discuss how each venue will be different and have different people from night to night and week to week. Also, we go in to how we read the rooms that we have played in the past and currently. The next discussion we have is about our favorite club songs at the moment. We talk about 3 different songs from various genres of music, but ultimately get a good reaction in clubs or bars. The songs we chose this week were Lizzy - Truth Hurts, Daddy Yankee feat. Kay Perry & Snow - Con Calma (Remix) & Marshmello feat. Tyga & Chris Brown - Light It Up. Each song has a different style and a different back story as to how it was created and why it does so well in the club. Finally, we discuss a few different radio records. These are songs that are good, but don't necessarily do well in a club atmosphere. The songs we chose this week were Lil Nas X - Panini, Kygo & Whitney House - Higher Love & Khalid - Talk. We go over each song and talk about the things we like and dislike about each song. Touching on other subjects like how the Higher Love song came about and why they chose Kygo to be the one to remix/recreate it. After all of this, there is a fantastic mix done by our very own DJ Raphy Prior. He uses the songs or versions of the songs that we discussed in the podcast, as well as a few others for you to enjoy!! I hope you guys like it, and make sure to email us with any questions or topics you would like us to discuss. thetakeabreakpodcast@gmail.com
