Griffin, Lowe, O'Hearn, Reynolds, Ozuna, and others would be a legitimate Pirates lineup. Signing Marcell Ozuna likely marks the end of the Andrew McCutchen era. This definitely could have been handled differently.

Signing Marcell Ozuna likely marks the end of the Andrew McCutchen era. McCutchen is probably the most beloved Pirate since Willie Stargell. The Pirates appear ready to move on. This definitely could have been handled better but the Pirates have added bats who are better than McCutchen at this point in his baseball career.

How concerned are you that Marcell Ozuna is going to continue to struggle like last season? Joe is worried that Ozuna might be on the down turn after struggling last year. Ozuna could be a very impactful bat. We think the Pirates have had a very solid offseason. Brandon Lowe, Marcell Ozuna, and Ryan O'Hearn are all good additions.

The Pirates have signed DH Marcell Ozuna to a one-year, $12 million deal. This likely marks the end of the Andrew McCutchen era. Bob wishes it would have ended differently. Are you impressed with the Pirates offseason? If you would have told Joe they would have traded for Lowe, signed Ozuna and O'Hearn that he would have doubted it, but likes the offseason. Joe and Bob give the Pirates a B+.

He said this is the exact thing the Pirates were looking for and this could be a pretty good pairing. Matt isn't sure if Ozuna gets back to being a legit MVP candidate, but the change of scenery should help him be better than last season. Matt pointed out that expectations in Pittsburgh are lower than they are in Atlanta. Matt said if things go south, they will easily be able to unload Ozuna around the deadline. He said the offense is better, but pitching still has to lead the way with a defense that isn't good. Noah thinks keeping Jared Triolo in the lineup is important for what he provides on defense alone. Noah wants the Pirates to add a utilityman and another pitcher because it's still a group of mostly unproven guys. Noah doesn't know if the Pirates are ‘much better' than a 75-win team. Noah suggested Mark Vientos being the final acquisition, but he would add to the crew of bad defensive players.
