The police siren is in use for this Friday episode following a Thursday 73 from Scottie Scheffler that left him visibly angry on PGA Tour Live! Andy and Brendan discuss an uncharacteristic over-par round from the World No. 1, as well as Brooks Koepka's tough day at a course he's won at in the past. Not everyone is on the struggle bus: Chris Gotterup has the first round lead with fellow young stars Pierceson Coody, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, and both Højgaards on his heels. In other PGA Tour news, they are once again starting up the "fifth major" debate around The Players Championship with a new promo that says "March Is Going To Be Major." Andy is ready for this weekend's Super Bowl after a week of hype in the Bay Area, but there's a brief preview of some events preceding next week's live show in Chicago. Somehow, this conversation ends with PJ challenging professional athletes to play him for an SGS season of "Pros vs. Joes." Patrick Reed could use someone to challenge him on the DP World Tour as he's once again right in the mix in Qatar. Brendan and Andy suggest any number of Euro stalwarts that could potentially become the "P Stopper" but it remains to be seen if anyone will step up. While Brooks is struggling in Phoenix, Smash GC is winning the team contest at LIV Riyadh, with some wondering if Talor "Sam Presti" Gooch has turned things around for good. The back half of this episode is dedicated to the PGA of America hiring Terry Clark as its new CEO, with Andy and Brendan both highlighting areas of need for the governing body now that it is under new leadership. Join us in Chicagoland for an SGS Live Show on Thursday, February 12! We'll be hanging out at SPACE in Evanston, Illinois for a night of Q&A, Champs Tour Minute, and plenty of Bears chatter. The first biography of the revolutionary political prisoner who laid the foundation for contemporary abolitionist struggles and Black anarchism. A Continuous Struggle: The Revolutionary Life of Martin Sostre (AK Press, 2025) is a political biography of one of the most important revolutionary figures of the twentieth century in the United States. Martin Sostre (1923–2015) was a Black Puerto Rican from East Harlem who became a politicized prisoner and jailhouse lawyer, winning cases in the early 1960s that helped secure the constitutional rights of incarcerated people. He opened one of the country's first radical Black bookstores and was scapegoated and framed by police and the FBI following the Buffalo rebellion of 1967. He was sentenced by an all-white jury to thirty-one to forty-one years. Throughout his nine-year imprisonment, Sostre transformed himself and the revolutionary movements he was a part of, eventually identifying as a revolutionary anarchist and laying the foundation for contemporary Black anarchism. During that time, he engaged in principled resistance to strip frisks for which he was beaten eleven times, raising awareness about the routinized sexual assault of imprisoned people. The decade-long Free Martin Sostre movement was one of the greatest and most improbable defense campaign victories of the Black Power era, alongside those to liberate Angela Davis and Huey Newton. Although Sostre receded from public view after his release in 1976, he lived another four decades of committed struggle as a tenant organizer and youth mentor in New York and New Jersey. Throughout his long life, Martin Sostre was a jailhouse lawyer, revolutionary bookseller, yogi, mentor and teacher, anti-rape organizer, housing justice activist, and original political thinker. The variety of strategies he used and terrains on which he struggled emphasize the necessity and possibility of multi-faceted and continuous struggle against all forms of oppression in pursuit of an egalitarian society founded on the principles of “maximum human freedom, spirituality, and love.” Host: Michael Stauch is an associate professor of history at the University of Toledo and the author of Wildcat of the Streets: Detroit in the Age of Community Policing, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press in 2025. How do you know real change is happening—and that he won't fall back into old patterns? In this episode of the Couples Healing From Pornography Addiction podcast, we walk through four clear indicators that show when a man is doing the kind of work that actually prevents returning to pornography and helps rebuild emotional safety in a marriage. This conversation is designed for both wives and husbands. For wives, it speaks directly to the fear, anxiety, and lack of security that often linger long after discovery. For husbands, it offers concrete milestones to aim for—so change isn't vague, fragile, or dependent on willpower alone. You'll learn: Why transparency (not monitoring) helps calm anxiety and rebuild trust How remorse and emotional empathy restore connection after betrayal The specific skills men need to resolve urges at the root, manage stress, and work through shame Why consistent follow-through is what actually creates long-term security This episode reframes porn addiction recovery away from promises, streaks, and fear-based vigilance—and toward root cause healing, emotional capacity, and relational safety. If you're navigating porn in marriage, struggling with pornography triggers, or looking for a healthier approach to relapse prevention that actually works, this episode offers clarity, direction, and hope.

Please join us for a special film documentary screening of Epicenter:The Struggle for Black Studies in the Bay Area, followed by an intimate conversation with filmmaker Doug Harris, Douglas Harris Jr. and cast members.  The film examines the early student activism of the 1960s and 1970s, which brought the first Black studies departments to higher education in the entire country. The film is very timely, as African American studies programs at institutions of higher education are currently being targeted for closure around the country.  In chronological order, the documentary will feature segments about Merritt College (1966), San Francisco State (1968) and UC Berkeley (1970), as told by cast members of the film who were on the ground floor of the Bay Area struggles through protests, strikes and riots. The Bay Area stood at the forefront, taking the leap toward introducing the study of Black and other minority cultures that would eventually spread throughout the country. One is weighed down by constant financial pressure and the fear of falling behind, the other by a slow loss of identity after years of putting everyone else first. Through calm, grounded reflections, the episode explores why overwhelm isn't failure, why clarity matters more than ambition, and how regaining control often starts with small, unglamorous steps rather than dramatic change. It's a gentle reminder that joining up the dots isn't about rushing forward, but understanding where you are and giving yourself permission to breathe again. The 118th Millrose Games delivered a great show and we break it all down. But the biggest performance of the weekend was in Boston not Millrose as Sam Ruthe, just 16 years old, ran 3:48 in the mile to become the youngest man ever under 3:50 by more than a full year. Cam Myers dominated the Wannamaker Mile in 3:47, Colin Sahlman broke a 37-year-old NCAA 800m record with a 1:44.7 victory, and Cole Hocker looked every bit the world's best distance runner in winning the two mile. Meanwhile, Roisin Willis set the American indoor 800m record in Boston, Nikki Hiltz got a big win, and Cooper Luktenhaus added another high school record to his collection. But it wasn't all celebrations. Is Bryce Hoppel's window closing? Why can't Ollie Hoare find his form? Is Hobbs Kessler's injury excuse a relief or a red flag? The episode also digs into the controversial decision by World Athletics to invalidate Jacob Kiplimo's 56:42 half marathon world record due to drafting behind the lead vehicle. Plus: Is it good for young stars to experience defeat? Should Cam Myers skip World Indoors for a domestic meet? And what exactly happened with the Millrose pacing lights?

But the moment I hit a stride, a little success, a little comfort, God gets politely set aside. Not rejected. Just… postponed. And right on schedule, the next smackdown arrives. If people were honest, most would admit they've lived this cycle. Comfort breeds amnesia. Struggle restores memory. Now here's the thing. Everyone knows tragedy will occur. Jobs end. Relationships dissolve. Loved ones die. Businesses fail. Bodies betray us. These are known risks. They're written into the terms of service of being alive. And most of those things can be overcome in one way or another. But circumstances matter.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In the conclusion to the daemonic series, we're looking at Stefan Zweig's Struggle with the Daemon - specifically, the section on Nietzsche. Particularly helpful for our analysis will be Zweig's comparison and contrast of Nietzsche with Goethe: both men contain the daemoniacal drive, but whereas Goethe holds it at a distance, Nietzsche gives himself over to it. By following Zweig's interpretation of Nietzsche's life and work, we can move from the abstract conception of it to a particular manifestation, and get a sense of the daemonic as it appears in an individual.

College didn't derail him. But it brought him down to earth. For the first time, he realized he'd never really learned how to study — and that raw intelligence only goes so far. The experience reshaped his ego and deepened his understanding of his ADHD brain. Brandon reflects on working with, not against, his ADHD. Gaius and Germanicus gather in freezing Londinium during the winter of 92 AD to discuss Paul Thomas Chamberlain's Scorched Earth, which reinterprets World War II not as a purely ideological conflict but as a racial struggle for colonial supremacy among white Christian nations. Gaius observes that academic journals in the early twentieth century explicitly validated these racial hierarchies, lending intellectual legitimacy to imperial competition. Germanicus contrasts this modern framework with the Roman Empire, which lacked rigid color barriers and successfully integrated diverse peoples across its vast territories. He argues that modern racism stems not from Roman Catholic or imperial traditions but from Calvinist predestination theology that divided humanity into elect and damned. The pair further explores how Western powers historically viewed Russia as mongrelized and inferior due to its Asianinfluences, revealing the deep racial anxieties underlying European geopolitics and the competition for global dominance.1550 MARK ANTONY SENDS SOLDIERS TO BRING CICERO TO THE SENATE.

This episode breaks down the signs, clearly, compassionately, and at the subconscious level, so you can finally understand what's happening inside you and how to heal it.   Episode Summary Fearful avoidant attachment is one of the most emotionally complex attachment styles, often shaped by early experiences of inconsistency, chaos, or unpredictability in relationships. In this episode, Thais Gibson walks through the top 10 signs of fearful avoidant attachment, explaining why these patterns form and how they show up in adult relationships. You'll learn why fearful avoidants flip-flop between closeness and distance, struggle with emotional regulation and boundaries, jump to worst-case conclusions, and experience deep guilt, shame, and empathy—all while longing for safety and connection. Most importantly, you'll discover how somatic healing and nervous-system regulation can help you feel secure, grounded, and emotionally safe again.   Key Takeaways Why fearful avoidants fear abandonment and commitment How activation–deactivation cycles form in relationships Why you may push people away even when you want closeness The link between empathy, boundary struggles, and emotional overwhelm Why vulnerability can feel unsafe—even when you're sharing How guilt, shame, and emotional dysregulation develop Why somatic healing is essential for lasting attachment repair   Timestamps 00:00:00 – Intro 00:01:47 – Sign #1: Flip-Flopping Between Fear of Abandonment and Commitment 00:04:38 – Sign #2: Actively Pushing Away 00:05:19 – Sign #3: Jump to Worst-Case Conclusions 00:07:24 – Sign #4: Terrified of Feeling Helpless 00:08:49 – Sign #5: Tend to Be Highly Empathetic 00:11:12 – Sign #6: Struggle with Boundaries 00:12:21 – Sign #7: Difficulty Regulating Emotion 00:13:35 – 7-Day Free Trial + Somatic Course 00:15:01 – Sign #8: May Seem Vulnerable without Actually Sharing 00:17:10 – Sign #9: Frequently Experience Guilt and Shame 00:17:50 – Sign #10: Strong Activation-Deactivation   Meet the Host Thais Gibson is the founder of The Personal Development School and a world leader in attachment theory. Shadow Ticket's paranoia, occult object-mysticism, and explosive politics connect to the real history of American labor violence: the Haymarket bombing and riot, the Bay View massacre, and the 1932 Ford hunger march. Watch the full coverage of the live stream on The Emily D. Baker YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/OvVQ01BPscE  Day 9 of the Brendan Banfield trial delivers shocking testimony as the defendant, Brendan Banfield, takes the stand in his own defense. Banfield attempts to argue a "defense of others" or "heat of passion" defense, claiming he shot Joseph Ryan to protect his wife, Christine Banfield. However, his story quickly unravels under cross-examination. Banfield attempts to paint a picture of a loving marriage while simultaneously "flexing" about his numerous affairs, showing less emotion for his deceased wife than for his McDonald's app. Banfield delivers a disastrous last line in his direct examination, leaving the jury stunned. The defense rests, motions to dismiss are denied, and the case is heading to closing arguments. Watch now to hear every detail from this pivotal day in court! Before Kendrick Lamar became one of the greatest lyricists of his generation, he was K.Dot—a kid from Compton with a front-row seat to trauma, loyalty, violence, and survival. This is the story of good kid, m.A.A.d city and the real-life events that fueled it. It's about a drive-by shooting that changed Kendrick forever. About a murder. About a robbery. About friends who vanished and others who couldn't be saved. It's about escaping the cycle without forgetting where you came from. And above all, it's about mercy—in a world that rarely offers any.
