Imagine your body as a highly advanced storage system—not just for memories, but for emotions, stress, and yes, trauma. Your muscles, fascia, and nervous system are quietly holding onto a mental archive of everything you've experienced—whether you remember it or not. And here's the kicker: your conscious mind might not even know it. Let's dig in. The Science of Stored Trauma You know how out of nowhere, your neck locks up like it's trying to make a point or your shoulders suddenly feel like they're carrying bags of bricks? Sure, we could blame bad posture or too much time at a desk. But more often than not, these aches and pains are physical manifestations of stored, unprocessed trauma—both the obvious kind (like accidents or loss) and the more subtle kind (chronic stress, neglect, etc.). When we encounter trauma or stress, our body activates the fight, flight, or freeze response through the autonomic nervous system. This releases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Ideally, once the threat has passed, our body returns to baseline, and the energy is discharged. But if the trauma isn't processed, the nervous system doesn't fully reset. Instead, the body stores that unresolved energy, like pausing in the middle of a movie but never pressing play again. Over time, this "frozen" energy gets locked into our tissues, manifesting as muscle tension, chronic pain, or even digestive issues. But what if I told you trauma doesn't just live in the body? Understanding how our thoughts and emotions interact with these physical symptoms can bring a whole new dimension to healing.
When life gets hard there is a tendency to contract, to hold our breath and freeze. As a family we are experiencing a difficult time with one of my daughters husbands abandoning her and their two wee babies in the most callous and selfish way possible. This audio is about the importance of softening into the hardness of life with all of its twists and turns and bloody blind summits.
I love dreaming and especially when there is a beautiful message from one of my deceased relatives helping me navigate life. Listen in to find out more and subscribe to enjoy more.

Not many people understand that the human mind has two main functions; a thinker and a prover. Whatever the thinker thinks, the prover proves that thought to be true. So, if a person thinks they are stupid, their prover proves that thought to be true. If a person thinks they are clever, the prover will prove that to be true also. Over time, the circumstances of your life come into line with whatever you have been thinking. Sound far fetched? Your life conditions are a result of what you have been thinking and feeling over time. One of my clients, Isabelle was a 1st year university student when I met her for the first time. She was delightful, gregarious and incredibly intelligent both emotionally and intellectually but there was a dark secret she had kept hidden about herself for over 8 years. Like many young women Isabelle fell prey to the idealistic standards of how she should look, what she should wear and how she should present herself to the world from a very early age. Her generation was the first to be fully exposed to smart media, social media and everything else the internet and streaming television can bring into your life. She was seduced by the beauty of models, clothes designers and her older peers and imagined them all having the most wonderful life because of how they looked and presented themselves to the world. In her adolescent thirteen year old mind Isabelle made a decision that this was the life she desired above everything else. She wanted to look, sound and be exactly the same as the images of the women surrounding her. Utterly doable for a thirteen old right? Of course not. Her adolescent body was transforming as the hormonal changes that rage through our systems in our teenage years establish the next phase of our physicality, preparing us for motherhood. Her breasts grew far bigger than the models she adored, her tummy became rounded and wobbly. Her thighs and hips laid down fat deposits. You see puberty is a sequence of events in which physical changes occur, resulting in adult physical characteristics and the capacity to reproduce. Isabelle did not like what was happening to her and despised the changes that were unfolding in her body. Her body did not look like the women she admired. She became obsessed with staying slim..... This week I had one of those experiences where you think you are going slightly mad but can can totally laugh off all of the thoughts that are flowing through your mind because you know they have nothing to do with you actually are at your core. This weeks podcast explores ego, our human stories and conditioning, the importance of family, becoming unashamedly human and the absolute joy of being a grandma. This weeks podcast discusses the benefits of emotional regulation across the generations to understand ourselves more fully and heal the past. I use examples within my family to highlight how easy it was for previous generations to misunderstand their lives and mental health because there was a distinct lack of information to educate and inform them that their experiences were normal and not something to be stigmatised. The principles are the foundation of our experience and understanding them more fully really helps us to live a more rounded, healthy and joyful life with less anxiety and disturbance. I am running my next guided class of Exploring The Principles starting May 22nd. Come join me for this wonderful transformative 14 week program. This weeks podcast is with my Tech Guru Susan Wheeler Hall who is affectionately known as Suzy Web. We all love what is familiar, don't we? After all what we did yesterday worked well and and kept us alive until today. In evolutionary terms that is a massive success, so we are all naturally inclined to use old habits of behaviour and thought. However if you are an online coach, counsellor, self help professional you may be finding the introduction of A.I into the online space a bit daunting especially if you, like me, struggle at times to start to create. So,if you, as an online coach or self-help professional struggle to form heart-centered written communications, then she has some fantastic news for you! Suzy is excited to invite you to her upcoming webinar exclusively for online coaches .This webinar is part of a webinar success series that she thinks you'd enjoy. See you at the webinar! About: Susan Wheeler-Hall, aka Suzy Web SuzyWeb.com is the name of my Tech-training & Web Design business focused on serving Coaches, physicians, and other helping professionals. Suzy Web is a playful take on my own name and I use cartoons that I create for branding. I purposefully bring my walker and scooter into the branding because it is a truthful reflection of my life experience, and this makes me somewhat unique. Also, it supports my vision to express that ability is only limited by one's own mindset. My niche is central to those working in coaching and other helping professions as I am a ‘retired' therapist myself; this makes me uniquely qualified to help coaches learn how to maximize business on a digital platform. When my disability CMT, which is a form of muscular dystrophy, lessened my mobility some 10 years ago, I decided to reinvent myself as an online entrepreneur. Blending my writing and graphic skills with WordPress expanded my horizons. I quickly learned how to benefit from a host of awesome tech tools. Skills from my former career serve me well in the tech industry because I know how to deeply listen to clients. I hear what they don't say and fill in the tech gaps to enable them to build upon their existing strengths. Problem-solving with people and their relationship to tech is my happy place. These days helping clients construct, design, and implement online courses is a sought-after service that I provide. I am considered an LMS Expert because I teach others how to create accessible content, design aesthetically pleasing courses and lessons, and assemble and manage their tech needs - all within their own WP website. A one-stop solution!

This week's podcast is a belter as we say in Scotland meaning it is a wonderful episode that I can't recommend highly enough that you listen into...that is if you want to become more conscious, aware and less stressed by life.In this episode as I speak to the authors we are discussing their new book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading and believe that you will enjoy reading it too. It is called,"The Complete Book of Awakening" and trust me its COMPLETE with lots of experiments, questions, playfulness and oodles of love and playfulness which you know I love and enjoy guiding you all towards in your quest to become Unashamedly Human. Take a listen in and if you enjoy the podcast you can buy the book here...https://thoughtfulraven.co.uk And find out more about Helen and Sara below: Helen Amery Helen's primary focus is to guide others in their awakening and enlightenment. After my own journey through corporate HR, then psychology-based coaching, I realised there was something more fundamental going on. It opened the door to something I never thought I'd have in my life - a spiritual understanding. It led me to the recognition of who I really am - who we all really are - awakening. And to how we can experience life in a much easier, more light-hearted way - enlightenment. My passion now is to bring that to more people with a practical, 'normal' person approach. helen.amery@wildfigsolutions.co.uk, Sara Priestley Sara had a career in corporate IT before leaving to become a massage therapist and then Pilates teacher. These reinforced for her the inward path of knowing who we are for ourselves, which led her to The Three Principles and then into nonduality. She now hangs out with her little cat colony, drinks a lot of coffee, helps clients solve life problems, supports people who have been hurt by cult-like groups, hosts her local poetry society's online gatherings, reads, writes, teaches nonduality, serves on the board of the Association for Spiritual Integrity, explores emerging voices in this field, and plays with this expanded understanding of who we are and how it shows up.sara@livinglifesideways.co.uk As always you can join my mailing list at www.jacquieforde.com. Look forward to seeing you soon....loads of love, Jacquie

In this episode I am talking with a dear friend and colleague about a mahoosive challenge she has just pulled together called, "A Life Less Serious" a project I am incredibly delighted delighted to have contributed to by writing a chapter on my own experience of The Three Principles in a Business setting. What becomes possible when you see beyond the stories you tell yourself and others? How can you face your ultimate challenges without the weight of the world on your shoulders? Touching on health, relationships, work and travel, women from different backgrounds and stages of life share personal stories that reveal much about our relationships with ourselves, with each other and with the world. A life Less Serious is a collection of stories collated into a powerful book that in my opinion stands heart head with Chicken Soup For The Soul it is : Real life stories from women to inspire, uplift and encourage new perspectives on living From unlearning the habits of a lifetime, to dealing with personal challenges in unexpected and refreshing ways, like many of us, these women have been on the ultimate quest to feel better about themselves, only to find the answer is closer to home than they ever imagined. You can purchase the book here :https://www.amazon.co.uk/life-Less-Serious-encourage-perspectives-ebook/dp/B09TXZJ7SJ Follow them here: https://www.instagram.com/alifelessserious/ Instagram: @jacquieforde_coach Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/788553751762771 And.....You can find out more at www.jacquieforde.com to sign up for more weekly wisdom delivered straight to your inbox. You've been criticising and berating yourself for years, and it really hasn't worked. Somewhere in you, you feel you deserve to be kept small, hunched, on edge; the soft, tender yet knowing part of you left unheard. It's not true, and deep inside you know this too. You have taken on too many harsh voices and made them your own, turning your back on yourself. It's time to turn around, to draw yourself into your body. Whispering, I want to hear you, I want to know you, I want to be you, I want to care for you; softly and courageously. —————— • Words by Brigit Anna McNeill • All she ever wanted was to feel normal. To not be afraid, anxious, depressed or overwhelmed by the voices in her head. Habits, addictions, compulsions, denial, outbursts, self sabotage, anger, sadness and hopelessness were the all consuming behaviours and narrative driving the course of her life. No one understood. No one else felt this way. Therefore no one could help. This darkness overtook her life destroying any hopes of joy and led to wild behavioural swings. She became anorexic. She was already bulimic. She became too anxious to leave her home. She withdrew from family and friends. In her isolation she became depressed. Dark intrusive thoughts kept her company. Kept her stuck. Find out more at www.jacquieforde.com

The mind is a tool. The question is do you understand the tool or do you let the tool fool you. Jacquie Forde This week I began my sold out Wild and Wise Inner Circle with a group of beautiful women intent on deepening their own understanding of life, business, love and the spiritual essence of the principles. As always initially when groups gather together introductions happen and opinions are formed as we filter for the familiar and unconsciously edit each experience to form a memory or map. You see our left brain is constantly analysing our experience and coming up with stories about the reality in front of us regardless of whether they are true or not. Our left brain uses language and categorisation to help make sense of our experience and is indeed two of the mechanisms by which we create our sense of self. You can read the full article at www.jacquieforde.com Jacquie Forde is an NLP trained, Three Principles Teacher and Transformative Coach, dedicated to helping men and women reach their greatest potential, both personally and professionally.Over the last 27 years, people from over 20 countries have invested in her transformative online and in-person coaching programmes. Episode 041 The Unashamedly Human Podcast (Soul Shift Series)with Susan Wheeler Hall by Jacquie Forde
Join me this week for an inspiring conversation with Andrea Morrison as she discusses her story and how her life has improved since coming across the simple understanding I share in The Unashamedly Human Podcast. Andrea Morrison is a Transformational coach, Tedx speaker and writer. Her journey into personal development started quite a number of years ago when she was at a stage when she had completely burnt myself out and had developed Chronic Fatigue. At that time she had been a practising Barrister for nearly 10 years, had a busy UK based practice specialising in Employment Law. It was her dream career and one that she had fought for as a mature student. But she was very stressed working really long hours, her life was completely out of balance, her confidence was probably at it's lowest ebb. Initially, she blamed the job, so she changed it and became a University Tutor, believing that this move would solve many of the personal difficulties I had faced. However, whilst it did in some respects, many aspects of my mindset that had dominated my career at the Bar, were still there. So she started her own business, but it soon became apparent that if she wanted my life to change she had to understand how she worked, her mindset, otherwise she was going ever to get more of the same. She then spent the following years training in Life coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP, when she was introduced to a simple understanding, founded by the late Sydney Banks, who's teachings impacted her so intensely, and had such a positive effect on all aspects of her life (including her business) that she is now passionate about sharing it with others. She has a special interest in mentoring professional women (both employed and self employed) who are feeling overstretched with competing demands, lack confidence or feel confident in one area of their life but not another, feel guilty or feel that they are simply not good enough. www.https://andreamorrison.co.uk/
