The Trilogy Outdoors podcast is an educational and entertaining show that stands out in the hunting and fishing podcast genre. The combination of informative content and engaging interviews sets this podcast apart from others in its field. While some episodes may have weaker sound quality due to phone interviews, the overall content makes up for this minor drawback.
One of the best aspects of The Trilogy Outdoors podcast is its ability to provide both education and entertainment. Many hunting and fishing podcasts can be dull, but this show manages to keep listeners engaged with interesting interviews. Guests like Jim Shockey and Charles Snapp bring valuable insights into wildlife conservation and the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations. This podcast proves that there is a significant population of hunters who are also conservationists, which may be surprising to those who are not involved in these activities.
Another commendable aspect of The Trilogy Outdoors podcast is its duo of hosts, Capt E and Senator Goldfinch. They make a great team when it comes to interviewing guests, creating an enjoyable listening experience. Listeners appreciate their dynamic and find their discussions engaging. This show is especially appealing to those who enjoy outdoor activities like hunting or fishing, as they can relate to the hosts' passion for these sports.
Despite its strengths, there are some weak points to consider when listening to The Trilogy Outdoors podcast. One downside is that some episodes suffer from weaker sound quality due to phone interviews. While this may be understandable given the circumstances, it can still detract from the overall listening experience for some audiences.
In conclusion, The Trilogy Outdoors podcast provides an excellent mix of education and entertainment within the hunting and fishing genre. It stands out among other shows in this space by offering informative content alongside engaging interviews with industry experts like Jim Shockey. While there may be occasional issues with sound quality during phone interviews, these minor flaws do not diminish the value of this podcast overall. Listeners will appreciate the dedication shown towards wildlife conservation and the important discussion around preserving natural resources.

The hot mess express is back on Jason's Big Wooden Deck and we got caught in our first mid show storm. Capt Cefus is bringing his Fishing Fest to Murrells Inlet this fall and we hope you will come join us for a fun filled weeknd right here on the Grand Strand. Thanks to our friends Julie and Rob at The Brookwood Inn in Historic Murrells Inlet for hosting the group this fall. We are excited to have Cefus choose our area and we look forward to participating and promoting the event. Capt. Jason and Capt. Nathan had a long run together early in MIFC days of growth and we get to hear some stories from those days and plenty of other crazy tales from the boats. This week the guys and gals of CFR got together to discuss several topics. With the recent ICAST in Orlando, a number of the crew made their way to Orlando and got up close and personal with all the new products that will be introduced in the near future. We are going to hear about some of the best products and all the fun that surrounds this annual event. We also are going to discuss a recent experience that some of the MIFC crew had a direct hand in helping to difuse and possibly saving a young mans life. We do not kid around about suicide and the reality is, that many people have things they are dealing with that they hide from friends and family. In this case a young man had taken a very strong edible drug that had a very diverse effect on him and his mind. We are happy that all were safe and we cannot thank the USCG and the Murrells Inlet Fire and Resue enough for all of their efforts to make sure this incident ended without any injuries. We hope you are enjoying hearing our chaos as much as we are enjoyinmg recording and we hope that you will come join us for a future episode on Tuesdays at 5:30 at MIFC. We had a great time this week and were honored to have Sen. Stephen Goldfinch to join us on Jason's big wooden deck. We had the pleasure of wishing the co-host of Trilogy Outdoors safe travels and well wishes on his depoloyment with the US Army. Stephen has spent a lot of time on the water from scuba diving and fishing all across the world. He also spent alot of his time working on charter boats growing up along the Grand Strand. We coould not have been happier that Capt. Jack Orr of The Fishfinder Fleet joins us as well. Capt. Jack is truly one of the old salts in the coastal region of South Carolina and has been at the helm of some of the most well known head boats to ever call Murrells Inlet home. Along with Capt Jay Baisch of "All Washed Up Driftwood Art" the trip combined for more years on the water than all of our previous guests combined The stories were numerous and Capt. Q sits in and shares some more of his hilarious tales from the life of a charter captain. Be sure to download and subscribe to CFR and share with all your friends. JT Thompkins Fishing has started on the second half of his 2025 season on the Elite Series. This week he just secured a top 5 fiinsh with an incredible bag of over 120 pounds for the 4 days. A tourney that saw 10 anglers achieve this feat and the all time largest bag was in jeapordy. The lake could only be the one and only Lake Fork in Texas. The show that this lake and these anglers put on may have rivaled any moment in sports over the weeked and possibly years of history on the Elite Series. It was an honor to have JT call in on his way to the nest stop on the Sabine River. We talk baits, his surrent streak, and the rest of the season with 4 events left. SCBFA has been at the forefront of everything boating in South Carolina over the last few years. Gettys Brannon has been challenged as the Exec. Director of this very active organization. Not only are they very active, but they are very effective. They continue to go toe to toe with legislators over all pressing issues facing all facets of the boating industry. Gettys was a college bass angler, and actually was a member of the Gamecock bass team that won the first of several national championships. You can help them and support their cause by visiting their website at SCBFA. We are appreciative of all that they do and hope they are able to stay ahead of all the changes in boating and fishing regulations. Be sure to go get signed up for the Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo. The event is just getting started and over the next ten months we are sure we are gonna see lots of exciting fish submitted to the event. Thanks to Fishing Chaos, we are able to offer an incredible event and keep it organized and our anglers well informed and regulated. It is hard to believe that we are just on the other side of JT Thompkins rookie year on the Elite Series and this weekend he will be starting his sophomore season on the biggest stage in bass fishing. In an attempt to get himself some time away from bass fishing he has fallen into the grasps of duck hunting. So much so that he reached out to go shoot some clays and work on his form before his first event in Palatska, Florida, We had a great time out at Backwoods Quail Club.We had a lot of laughs and to be honest, this young man just gets it.......He is not gonna do anything without going all in and his attention to detail in his shooting speaks volume about his abaility on the water and to disect a fishery. We wish JT the best of luck this year and are sure to keep you informed of how his season progressess. Be sure to go to Fishing Chaos and get the app downloaded and registered for the 2025 Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo. We look forward to a fun 11 months and watching all the anglers battle it out for our incredible prixe pool with over $20k in prizes. Merry Christmas Gift-Away is in full effect and wow the Fishheads are amazing. We have collected over 60 rods n reels and tons of great tackle. As well, we have been blessed to have received many donations of fishing trips from area captains and from SALTT(FCA Fishing). We are joined this week by a special guest that has been instrumental in this whole idea. Darman Weaver founded Saras Shield in honor of his daughter Sara who was tragically killed while performing her job as a paramedic at a terrible crash scene. She was hit by a driver who disregarded all the emergency lights and vehicles and drove around and throught the scene. We are so excited that Darman and his family chose to partner with us to give back this Christmas and we discuss how you can get involved and help us make a difference with some kids and with first responders this Christmas Season. Most of us all enjoy the Santee Cooper Lake System and especially the rivers that lead into and out of it. We may target shad during the shad run or make your way to chase stripers in all the rivers when they are making their migration as well. But, other than the fish lift in St. Stephens and the locks at Pinopolis, there has been no way for the mgirating and spawning species to make their way in the lake at the Wilson Dam/Santee River area. Well thanks to some really cool new technology it looks like our friends at Santee Cooper have found a really cool new device that will be both cost effective and functional to offer our finned friends a way to get in the lake via that area. Fishheart is a new technology that could see it's introduction to the Santee River headwaters as early as 2026. Created by a company based in Finland this innovative fishway uses hydraulics and Ai technology to allow fish a safe and effective way to migrate into the lake. We are joined in todays show by Michael Melchers, FERC Administrator for Santee Cooper and Chad Holbrook, the Habitat Coordinator for Santee Cooper. These two are tasked with maintaing the lake and river systems to meet all the federal requirements as well as keeping the habitat and the resources thriving in the waters and areas around the lake. This was a great episode and we are sure that we will be joining these guys again in the future to talk more. One thing is certain about fishermen and fisherwomen, we all enjoy fishing for a cause and getting the competitive juices flowing. This week we had the fortune of supporting and participating in the 2nd Annual No BS Inshore Slam tourney out of Georgetown, S.C. The crew put three teams together to fish and we decided to record our radio show on site at the captains meeting. The Mears family founded this event to raise funds to help with research and treatments for Hydrocephalus. Also known as water on the brain, this is a condition in which there is an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the brain. Funds from this event will go to help with research as well as helping provide treatment for patients that will not include braind surgery(BS). It is always great to get the Senator in the studio and talk Colorado Elk hunting. We are joined via phone bu Team Trilogy Outdoors pro staffer, Rick Austin. Rick and Sen. Goldfinch just got back from another trip out to the west to chase Elk. Rick was fortunate enough to draw a black powder tag for Elk and was excited to put the stalk on what would hopefully be his first bull. The hunt was exciting and it's always great when the Senator gets to describe his hunts with his hunting partner. We wish Rick's wife, Heidi best of luck in just a few weeks at her first attempt at a bull Elk with rifle. We are also joined this week by Capt. Jason Burton of MIFC. Known as the Flounder Pounder, Jason was busy this week with helping coordinate some assistance and relief efforts for our friends in the WNC area that was ravaged by Hurricane Helene. JAson made the trip up this week wijth one of the trucks that was loaded down with essentials. He shares a lot of things that the media is not gonna share and he shares the reaction and opinions of the many locals that he was fortunate enough to spend time with on his trip. Please understand that this is not going away anytime soon. These people are going to need help over the coming weeks and months. We are trying to use our platform to get the information and awareness out in every way possible. The incredible outpouring that you have shown so far is mind blowing and we hope to keep up the pace and to continue doing for others, No donation is too small and any time you can volunteer to help organize or sort through the donated items is greatly appreciated. Faith in humanity!!!! This week is all about the many different groups that are working tirelessly to raise funds and to gather essentials to transport to our neighbors in the upsate and in the Western North Carolina mountains. We have seen an incredible miracle at work, as the flow of these items is continuing to these areas from the air and the ground. We are joined by Carter Sheridan a young pilot and flight instructor from Georgetown, S.C.. Carter and his family have been working around the clock and with the help of several other pilots and plane owners, they have conitued a connection of all the essential items to the areas that are in dire need. This young man is an absolute hero and at 22 he is mature far beyond his years. We are also joined by our very own, Adrianna Lawrence with WBTW TV 13. Adrianna joined a group from SC Needs Help this week and had an exciting 36 hours on the road making deliveries in the mountains and upstate S.C. She will be doing a feature story this week so we did not want to dive too deep into her experiences. But, her description was "Life-Changing". Also joining us was Capt Fred and his great friend from Boone, N.C., Allen Burchell. Allen has been actively working on the ground in NC since the rains were just starting to clear out. He enlightens us on several things including the status of several areas in the mountains. He also shares some of the most essential of needs that they have for those that were displaced. This week, we don't get to discuss much in the way of fins, fur, and feathers, but I think we discussed far more important topics. Our friends at Black Mingo Venison Processor and Taxidermy say that they are starting to see some really nice bucks and the signs that love is in the air. They are prepared to take care of all your needs with your harvest including any mount that you can imagine. As far as fishing the inshore bites are really picking up along the coast. We are seeing great reports on flounder and redfish. Not just the Bull Reds, but plenty of slot sized fish being found in all of the estuaries and particularly around the jetties. Alligator hunting is on the top of many lists for anyone that had the fortune of being drawn for a tag thsi year. We were fortunate to see a big 12 plus gator harvested in the Pee Dee/Black River area. With the floodwaters making their way to the Santee rivers, anyone should use extreme caution if you venture up those ways and be careful of debris and swift currents. We hope you have a great week and if you can find the time or the ability in anyway to assist with the relief efforts, please help the many groups bring some help to the hills. Enjoy,Capt. Fall is in the air.......this is definitely true here in South Carolina as shrimp baiting season has begun on September 13th. This is a tradition that most watermen live for every fall. The ability to go out and to fill a cooler with some tasty lowcountry delicacies and to actually be in control of harvesting them. It can be a bit overwhelming to someone that is new to the technique and we cover all the ways to have success while helping you straighten that learning curve. Our panel this week is made up of some of the guys from Trilogy Outdoors Radio. Capt Fred, Capt. Chris, and Tony the Bassmaster join Capt. E to go over all the steps at getting out on the water to cast those nets on the bait balls and will a cooler up. Firstly, we are joined by Capt. Jason Burton of Murrells Inlet Fishing Chartersas well as Capt Chris Regan of Carolina Hook and Fly Outfitters. These two were recently fishing an event on The Southern Redfish Cup down in the Beaurfort, S.C. area, They were both unaware of Morgan(Monkey) Island that is located in the barrier islands along the coastal region of Beaufort. This island has a colony of free-ranging Rhesus monkeys that were placed there in the 70's and now contain over 4000 in the colony. There are many that are not aware of this island and it's inhabitants, just as Capt. Chris and Capt. Jason. You can imagine the surprise and the stories that this produces when they start shaking trees and running to the beach to say hello or to warn you. We hope you enjoy the show and please be sure to like, share and subscribe to our show. We appreciate every download and hope everyone is out chasing fins. fur, or feathers! It was a pleasure to spend a while talking with Jason Brenic about Piscifun and TideWe. These are two great companies that offer their customers incredible qulaity products for very fair pricing. It was great to have him explain the product lines and everything that they offer the outdoorsmen. We are using some of the products from both companies. We hsve been extremely happy and impressed by the performance and quality. Jason has also been kind enought to offer our followers a 15% discount at checkout. It can't be any easier to remember than to enter TRILOGY15 in discount spot. We look forward to sharing some more great products and new releases over the next year as they continue to deliver products designed for all the anglers in both salt and freshwater. Enjoy!!!!! The best time of the year is just starting for most of us outdoorsmen and women as deer season kicks off across the state. We are joined this week by SCDNR's Assistant Big Game Coordinator, Jay Cantrell. We have enjoyed conversations with Jay over the last couple years and most recently we spoke about the trukey regulation changes. We are grateful to have him join us this week to talk deer. This is the first year of the new reporting program in which hunters are now required to report our harvests before midnight on the day the deer is harvested. We dive into this as well as many other concerns that the hunters across the state may have pertaining to deer hunting. We also share many more interesting facts about our deer population and the health of it going forward. We thank all the men and women of SCDNR and these bilogists and experts are very important to maintaining healthy herds of animals in our state. We are joined later in the show by Capt. Jason Burton. Jason is the owner of Murrells Inlet Fishing Charters and a host of Trilogy Outdoors Radio Show. Jason has been extrememly happy with the health of the flounder stock in our area waters and we discuss the reasons that he feels that our fisheries are sustaining despite the drastic increase in anglers that are targeting this very species. To book a trip this fall with Capt Jason and his team of incredible captains at MIFC, simply click on the following link: www.MIFCFishingCharters.com Lets see those deer harvest pics too. We wish that we could share all of our great conversations we have when we dont have teh equipment around and set up to go. Between The Senator and Capt E they converse on a daily basis with incredible people that are involved in everything rlating to fins, fur, and feathers. Capt E was able to run to the studio and hop on a call with one of the biggest names in professional bass fishing, JT Thompkins. Who is also a Palmetto State and Myrtle Beach native and friend of the podcast. JT is enjoying a break on Lake Champlain from competition as Tropical Storm Debbie makes her way through the New York area today. After day one, JT is currently sitting in 45th and is 10th for Angler Of The Year and 4th in Rookie Of The Year standings. He discusses his first day on the water and exactly how he felt coming into this event. We also discuss the setails in competitions in a small mouth fishery and some of the techniques he is using this week. We are always grateful to have JT on and wish him the best of luck as the tourney kicks back off tomorrow morning. You can follow all the action live at The Bassmasters website. With the recent news of a proposed solar farm that could include up to 6000 acres in Plantersville, S.C. There are numbers of property owners that want answers how this has gotten this far without the input from the public. We are joined this week by 4 time PGA Tour winner, Kevin Kisner. Kisner is a native of Aiken, S.C. but has an interest in one of many beautiful plantations along the Plantersvile area of the Pee Dee River. We are joined in the studio by Ruthie and Steve Sr. to discuss this grren energy nightmare for our region. We hope that with sharing this and making everyone aware, that we can rally some opposition to let the developer know that we do not want to see this effect our resources and the incredible forests that these resources call home. We also are keeping everyone in the path of Tropical Storm Betty in our prayers. Please share this episode with all your firends and lets stand up against this atrocity for the historic area of Plantersville. One of our favorite places to doremotes is on the stage at Dead Dog Saloon. The beautiful backdrop of Murrells Inlet from the stage at Dead Dog could not be any more perfect for talking fins, fur, and feathers. We were blessed with some awesome company as Capt Chris, Adrianna, The Bassmaster, Ruthie, Bill Hills, Lee Rowlands, and Capt E talk about the current events and share some great fishing reports with our listeners. This week we talk a lot about the proposed solar farm that is possibly coming to Georgetown County in the near future. We discuss the effects of this on both the environment and the economy. We thank Dead Dog Saloon for the hospitality and the incredible breakfast we were treated to. If you follow this link, you can see more about the plans for the solar farm and understand better, exaclty how big this is. https://www.plantersvillerenewableenergycenter.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/trilogy-outdoors--5441492/support.

Our weekly live show on Gator 107.9 is too good not to share with our incredible audience. This was a show from last week that we did at our studio sponsors location. Sparks Toyota has been with us since the beginning as our official studio sponsor and you may see Capt. E out and about in the Trilogy Tundra. We had a great show this week and were blessed to have a bunch of our team on site as well as some special guests. The Holmes Family, more well known for their incredible son, Strongman Luca James, sat down with us to talk about the new charity that they have started and hwo they are paying it forward to other famiies that are faced with similar diagnosis' like their son was. We learn that this is a disease that effects the entire family and they want to help prepare these families ahead of the battle. We are also joined by one of the best fishermen on the Grand Strand that also happens to be a salesman at Sparks Toyota. Well, we like doing things a little different around here at Trilogy Outdoors. We also love fishing and figured we would move our studio to the water to record a few shows. This week we brought a few of our friends along that have a good deal of knowledge of fins, fur, and feathers. We have Jay Garner of Whitetail Properties joing us as well as Kevin Seay of Black Mingo Venison Processor and Taxidermy. We discuss the drought and it's possible effects on the upcoming deer, dove, and duck season. We also talk about choices of crops for food plots as well as discussing each of their businesses and how they can help you enjoy their products and services that they offer. Kevin has done some incredible mounts over the last few years and his attention to detail is just what you want when trusting a taxidermist with your prized harvest. Jay has numbers of incredible listings that can be your next investment for a successful and enjoyable future making memories with loved ones and friends as you create your own sportsmans paradise for years to come. Particularly the Kraken electric big game reel as well as the NautiX and the Alijoz line of reels. We can never thank our law enforcement officers or first responders enough for all they do for our communitites. In this weeks show our friends at Crazy Sister Marina host us and just a few of the men and women that represent the thousands of these heroes in our local areas. Guests include Horry County Police Chief, Joe Hill, SCDNR officers KEven Pardue and Jay Gregg, Horry County Sheriffs Department's Jeff Benton, Midway Fire Department's Bree Bostic, and Georgetown County Fire And Rescue Departments, Aaron Bostic. We mention our live radio show each week on the podcast and until now, we have not shared any of our live broadcast here. This week we had some friends stop by our studio and we feel it was too good not to share on all of our platforms. We have had Bassmaster Elite angler, JT Thompkins on the show in the past and this week we were honored to have him and a friend and fellow competitor stop in to our studio to join us. Trey McKinney is currently leading the Angler Of The Year and Rookie Of The Year on the Bassmaster Elites and he is just doing incredible things on the biggest stage of bassfishing. JT and Trey share the top two spots in the ROY standings and the rest of the season promises to be an exciting battle between all the 2024 rookie class. JT is coming off a top 3 finish on Lake Murray where Trey also had a 6th place finish. JT has a 2nd and a 3rd place finish and is achieving every goal he set out to achieve this year so far. These two are proving themselves and having a great time doing it. At the Lake Fork event, Trey not only earned a Century belt, he became the youngest winner in the history of the Elite Series. The future is very bright for both of these young men and we are excited to have them sit with us and talk about the year. Be sure to follow these young men the rest of the 2024 season at www.bassmasters.com. We have been blessed to meet many people that love and enjoy the very things that we do here at Trilogy Outdoors. This week our guest is one of those very people and a friend of ours who has played a very important role here in South Carolina for 12 years as the Senator of District 35. Sen. Thomas McElveen will not be seeking re-election this year and will get to spend more time with his family and enjoying the outdoors. We are very thankful that he took the time to sit with us and talk about how life looks movimng forward as he puts the senate in his rearview mirror and focuses on the many things in front of him. As he transitions out of his senate duties, there is no doubt that we will have him on in the future to discuss some fins, fur, and feathers and hear about his adventures in the outdoors with his beautiful children. Serving your cosntituents and particularly the very area that you grew up, is never easy. It was a position that we think he excelled in and we know that Columbia will miss Senator McElveen. We hope you enjoy this episode and wish him the best in his future endeavours. Life's Better Outdoors!!!!!!!! CEO of SCBFA(South Carolina Boating & Fishing Alliance) joins us this week to talk about a lot of imoortant topics in the world of fishing and boating. With under 400 Northern Right Whales left, there has been a big push to increade speed restrictions during the migration period of the species along the east coast. These regulations would effect recreational and commercial fishermen as well as the huge industry which is important to commerce, the cargo ship industry. Gettys shares some recent events that have taken place in Washington, D.C. and who is behind all the attention that is being put on creating these speed zones. We also have a lengthy discussion on the Red Snapper regulations and the incredibly poor data that continues to influence this very poorly regulated fishery. With many flaws being found in the data collection it is time for answers and for accurate data to be gathered and to loosen the grasps on this fishery. Along with these great topics, we dove into the Forward Facing Sonar discussion as well. Gettys is a former College Bassmaster National Champion and also a former employee of B.A.S.S and is a great reference to discuss the most popular topic in bass fishing with. We all realize that at some point there is going to need to be some regulations on the technology, just as is done in all other professional sports. Is it time for B.A.S.S to follow suit. Let us know and hope you enjoy the show!! for more info on SCBFA visit www.scbfa.comwww.trilogyoutdoorsmedia.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/trilogy-outdoors--5441492/support.

This week we are joined by our friend Ben Wiggins to discuss some spring boating safety tips and to talk a little about the missing boater off of North Carolina. Jeff Kale's boat was found today offshore of Wrightsville Beach, NC. Unfortunately the search for the captain continues and we have some of the pubic info that we know about the boat and what possibly could have happened to Mr Kale. Our thoughts and prayers go out for his family and friends in the coming days as they try to get closure on this terrible accident. We also discuss some great safety tips for both new and seasoned boat owners that will be making that trek to the Gulf Stream over the coming months. We all have made bad decisions in choosing days to fish and to battle the Atlantic Ocean. We can all assure a lot better chance of safely making it home to our loved ones with some simple tips and preparation prior to heading offshore. In the coming days we are going to host a float plan sign up on our website. You can take a few monents to post your info there and we will keep these private unless there is a situation that arses that the info is needed due to a late return of your vessel. Thanks to Ben Wiggins for taking the time and hopping on with me today in short notice. We are also getting a lot of turkey and fish pictures and we are going to be sharing them in the magaxine this month.
