Welcome back to another episode of the Back 9 Mully Podcast! We have a crazy one today! Right off the bat, Aut has to come clean about something...Then we kick over to how college hoops are going for the teams in the SEC. Kisner hit a terrible SHANK in TGL. Shortest hitter on TOUR beat the LONGEST hitter ontour. Then this kind of leads us down a path of what the ball rollback is going to be like for tour pros and Ams. Then we wrap things up with something a littledifferently. It was a fun way to end the podcast! Now, go hit some good shots, go hit some bad shots, butalways remember to have fun and to always use your Back 9 Mully!
The crew is back from Big Randy's wedding to recap Scottie Scheffler winning the Hero by six shots to repeat as champion in the Bahamas. We also cover the resignation of LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan and Montana's native son Ryggs Johnston winning the Aussie Open. Plus, another edition of our E-9 as we talk Tiger's schedule, Kisner getting the NBC analyst gig, the USGA's gender policy update, NLU joining the PGA Tour's Creator Council and Jordan closes us out with One for the Road as we look at the rarest and most obscure golf video game of all time. With the Year in Review on pause until next week, Andy and Brendan use this Friday episode to catch up on the remaining golf news from this week. Andy spends the entire show dealing with a potential tsunami warning in California, leading to multiple cut-ins with the latest updates from the National Weather Service. In terms of late-breaking golf news, Brendan shares that Scottie Scheffler is using a claw grip to putt at the Hero and the two wonder if this will be a long-term solution for him or if he's just trying it out in a "hit and giggle" event. NYGC's Cameron Young is off to a hot start in Albany, setting him up for his first "win" on the PGA Tour. It was revealed that Tony Finau is NOT going to LIV (as of now), but withdrew from the Hero World Challenge due to knee surgery. Speaking of LIV, it's a loaded leaderboard for the weekend at the Saudi International series, currently being led by Logan McAllister. Dustin Johnson, the latest Golf Saudi ambassador, missed the cut, but had some quotes about "growing the game" in the Golf Saudi press release. Patrick Reed also had some newsworthy comments, suggesting that players who can qualify should be able to play on any tour they want, without suspension or fines. The Ryder Cup pay-for-play debate is somehow still rearing its head, with Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas being the latest Americans to be peppered with questions about it during pressers at the Hero. Kevin Kisner will be the new lead analyst for NBC in 2025 and Brendan wonders how this will impact his TGL status as a member of Jupiter Links Golf Club. Brendan and Andy also break down a potential LIV-WNBA legal battle after the WNBA's latest team logo may rip off a LIV franchise. This episode closes with some SGS Golf Advice about a dice-roll cheater and a legendary war of words at a golf simulator in Canada.

Joe Kisner - Minnesota MissingApril 10Friday, April 2, 1976, was an unseasonably mild day in Wolf Lake, Minnesota, with the temperature topping out at close to 60 degrees. For Bernard Rusness and his common-law wife, Peggy, the sunny day was a welcome change from the bitter winter temperatures that had enveloped the area for the past few months. After finishing work for the day, the couple went to the grocery store and then headed home in time to meet their 8-year-old son, Brian, when he arrived home from school.Later that afternoon, Bernard decided to take advantage of the warm weather and started installing a new sound system in his truck. Neighbors recalled seeing the 48-year-old hard at work in his driveway, but the project took longer than he anticipated. Realizing he wasn't going to finish before the sun went down, Bernard decided to call it a night and went inside. He left the hood of his vehicle up and his tool shed door open, intending to complete his work in the morning. He would never get the chance.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.
With the recent news of a proposed solar farm that could include up to 6000 acres in Plantersville, S.C. There are numbers of property owners that want answers how this has gotten this far without the input from the public. We are joined this week by 4 time PGA Tour winner, Kevin Kisner. Kisner is a native of Aiken, S.C. but has an interest in one of many beautiful plantations along the Plantersvile area of the Pee Dee River. We are joined in the studio by Ruthie and Steve Sr. to discuss this grren energy nightmare for our region. We hope that with sharing this and making everyone aware, that we can rally some opposition to let the developer know that we do not want to see this effect our resources and the incredible forests that these resources call home. We also are keeping everyone in the path of Tropical Storm Betty in our prayers. Please share this episode with all your firends and lets stand up against this atrocity for the historic area of Plantersville. With Andy traveling, and Brendan scheduled to early Monday morning, this is a podcast recorded and completed on the run in some of the most dire circumstances in this podcast's ramshackle history. A first attempt from the baggage claim in a swamp airport is scuttled and transferred to the rental car shuttle and eventually the rental car. Needless to say, they cover Chris Kirk's win in Kapalua, Spieth's final round of “bad breaks,” more low scores and 400-yard drives, and the Kevin Kisner experiment in the NBC booth. Then they get their hands on the itinerary for the much-maligned “rookie meeting” that had players flying to Honolulu on the eve of an event they could not get into, so they run through the full lineup of various sessions indoctrinating the rookies into the PGA Tour Way.
Pat Mayo and Geoff Fienberg provide their 2024 Golf Season Preview discussing Kevin Kisner's temporary move into the NBC booth replacing Paul Azinger and who the top options are after he returns to the course. Then, they preview each major and host course and look at the odds for each tournament before picking the President Cup Team for the internationals in Montreal, Tiger Woods' return, guessing which players will rebound and rise in 2024 on the PGA Tour, the future of the PGA and LIV relationship before opening the mailbag and answering viewer questions. In 2019, after a bankruptcy left her family with nothing, Cristy Kisner; her husband, Sebastian; and their five daughters moved from Peru to Roswell, Georgia, to give them a better future and to fulfill Cristy's dream of opening a healthy café in the United States. When the Covid-19 lockdown came, they never closed their doors, working sixteen-hour days for a year. In March 2021, Brandon Stanton, the creator of Humans of New York, became a regular customer and fell in love with the food at the café and Cristy's incredible story. He wrote about Cristy and sponsored a fundraiser, and her moving story went viral, allowing the family to stay afloat and continue to live their American dream. Since you guys can't get enough of the Black-eyed-kid stories we did some digging and found one posted in various places on the internet from Raleigh, North Carolina that took place in 2012. We hope you enjoy this story.Kerrie Kisner hadn't intended to stop at the Triangle Town Center mall on her way home from Wake Tech Community College near Raleigh, North Carolina, but she did. She wished she hadn't. “There were very few people there that day and I found it strangely eerie how quiet it was,” Kisner, 20, said. “While walking back to my car I rounded a corner and saw an older lady and a young boy. He immediately caught my attention because he was so odd looking, I had never seen anyone like him.” The boy, about twelve years old, seemed average at first, but as Kisner watched him talk with the woman, he seemed anything but average. The boy's black hair contrasted sharply with his pale skin; dark patches hung under his eyes. “It looked like he hadn't slept in weeks,” Kisner said. “He had a very thin face.”As Kisner walked closer to the pair, she heard their conversation. In a quiet, but strong voice, the boy asked the woman for help. “He stood very rigid with his hands by his sides looking at the ground as she fished around in her purse for something to give to him,” Kisner said. “As I got closer I noticed he seemed to get more and more uncomfortable.”The boy began to shift his body when Kisner passed them on her way to her car, then he lifted his head and made eye contact with her. “I froze. His eyes were black as night, very dull, almost dead,” Kisner said. “The look he gave me has haunted me. The feeling I got from him was as though he wasn't all there, almost ghostly.”Eyes locked on Kisner's, the boy turned slowly and, not waiting for the older woman to give him what she dug for in her purse, simply walked away. Kisner doesn't know who, or what the boy was, but this memory will stick with her forever. “Ever since then the look he gave me has haunted me,” she said. “Almost like he knew what I had been thinking.”Who doesn't get the chills from these stories? We hope to find more like this in the future. If you have a creepy story you'd like to see featured you can email us at webmaster@spookyappalchia.com. Hosted on Acast. Hidden Gems Golf is certainly hoping for a replay of last week as the picks were on fire! Can HHG do it again? Listen & let's find out! Boys Don't Cry holds a 90% Rotten Tomatoes critics score and a pretty astonishing 86% Metacritic. And with scores like that, one might get the impression that was and is a universally admired classic. Billed as a dramatization of the events leading up to the 1993 rape and murder of 21-year-old trans man Brandon Teena, it was nominated for 57 major awards and won 37 of them. 14 of went to star Hilary Swank, 6 to costar Chloe Sevigny, and 8 to writer director Kimberley Peirce. And Swank of course won the Oscar for Best Actress, while Sevigny was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. But critics at the time almost always misgendered Brandon in their reviews. And the film effectively erases the trans identity of its protagonist, which some argue is the result of a conscious and unforgiveable narrative and creative decision made my Peirce, who cast a cisgendered woman to play Brandon and who shut out essentially all input and participation from anyone in the trans community. In the 23 years since its release, Boys Don't Cry has not aged well. But this week's guest, writer and trans horror historian Logan Ashley Kisner, argues that it's not all about aging - Boys Don't Cry is a fundamentally, irredeemably transphobic film. In this week's “Under the Strap” podcast, our John Rathouz welcomes Duane Bock, longtime caddie for Kevin Kisner. Bock, a Long Island native, who won the prestigious North and South Amateur in 1992, played professionally through the 90's before jumping into the caddie world in the mid-2000's. Also known for his enormous calves, he met Kisner at a U.S. Open qualifier in 2007 and they have teamed up for all four of Kevin's PGA Tour wins - including the 2019 Match Play. Filling in the blanks on popular topics about his always-candid boss, Duane does the talking this time, including the helpful reason why he thinks Kevin says he can't compete on certain courses. The episode ends with a hilarious sleepwalking story!

I had been planning on taking a hiatus before starting season 2 of The Naked Man Podcast, but the world intervened and I realized this conversation needed to be released NOW. This week, I'm joined by my friend and THE trans horror historian Logan-Ashley Kisner, three months removed from his top surgery. We talk about Logan's journey -- from when he first started questioning his gender identity and when he first started planning the surgery itself, and what that process was like and how COVID affected it all. We lambast Texas Governor Abbott and his offensive and dangerous comments on trans youth. We discuss the proper terminology for Logan's transition and clarify other misconceptions. We talk about how insurance and money clouds the ability for trans people to be who they are. We explore the fear of dedicating to things and the dedication inherent in such a surgery. We glow about Logan's support system, his friends, his family and we compare the trans coming out conversation to helping your parents with new technology. Because we're us, we indulge ourselves on how horror and art influences all of this, including the feedback loop of media and the political landscape. To help reshape the narrative, Logan recommends three horror films to accompany our conversation (Sleepaway Camp, Evil Dead, Ginger Snaps). Lastly, we both discover that we're mirrored threshold guardians in one another's story, and get excited for our future together. Logan-Ashley Kisner's Work: Transgender Horror: A Visual History: Logan's visual essay on trans horror. Made to be Monsters Series: a collection of essays examining Logan's favorite horror films through the lens of transgender bodies and feelings. A Timeline on Transgender Horror: The article that sparked our friendship. The Transgender Evil Dead: A personal essay on dudes named Ashley. Movies with Friends: Bit (2019) with Coffee!
