I offer this sacrifice to thee. O Goddess Laksmi, the repository of all knowledge originating from Brahman, you are also known as Sri, Laksmi, Aubala, Ambika, Gam and Indrasena. May the Goddess grant us long life. I offer this sacrifice to The Universal Mother, Dakshayani, and all the lineage of all the gods and divine being. May they all bless us with a long life. I offer this sacrifice to the Ganas, who remove all obstacles towards a long life. May our projeny too benefit. Brahman alone exists and from whom arose Vasus, Rudras, Adityas, Maruts, Sadhyas, Rbhus, Yksas, Gandharvas, Pitrs, Bhrgus, Nagas, Angirases for the welfare of a people in need. Rishi: Chaatana In the Abyss of the subconscious resides the demons, that find a home in angry minds. they consume the individual with destructive repetitive thought patterns. You will not allow you to influence our search for knowledge, or allow you to corrupt simple pleasures or to sow seeds of negative qualities. Take your conflicts to the lower realms, where the other negative qualities reside The illumined mind with the power of intuition will defeat and drive these negative qualities away. If you have become diseased, keep bad company, are contemplating despicable acts, the illumined mind will destroy you. I have rooted you out of the dark corners of the mind and won all the battles. You have have no home here now.
Rishi: Atharva With your luminous presence all round, O Agni, guard the child of man, guide him to maturity and beyond. Your splendor becomes his, and his protection. Death dares to approach only the allotted time, under your protection. Brishpathi grants the body to Mind. The Word, is your body, your happiness. You protect them from ill-will. May your life of hundred autumns be filled with true wealth. Find your rock within, anchoring your life to it for a hundred years, blessed by all-gods. Let this Word act as a garment under the protection of all-gods and your brothers. Your birth into this new life and growth will lead to many more such births.
Rishi: Bharadvaaja May my ongoing Tapas be beneficial to Heaven, Earth, the Mid-World, the Guardians, The Sun and The wind gods. O Gods, masters of sacrifice, From Bharadwaja I received this knowledge. May those that impede our disciplines be themselves cast into great difficulties. O Indra, the illumined mind, hear me thus. Those who are impure in heart and intent be cut down, like a tree with an axe. I accept the benefits of the sacrifice of the force of desire, direct to our Fathers accompanied by the Sama chant of three and eighty mantras. The Adityas, Vasus and Angiras propel me into the divine flame. May the splendour of Heaven and Earth reflect in me. May all the gods and realised fathers rejoice with me. Let all opposition fall back into their own evil nature. O Maruts, those who in their superiority, look down on our sacrifices, may they be weakened. They find no place In heaven. With my Mantras, I break the seven pranic knots and eight energy blocks. The power of this mantra, carried by the flames will reach the god of Death. In this fire, you reside. The fire enters your body and your breath give s power to your words.
Rishi: Sukra Your one-pointed aspiration, makes sin meaningless. You have made your self as the weapon of weapons that gains fame and glory, no longer bound to your peers Your Sadhana, takes you forward through all opposition to your goal, an unconquerable hero that gains fame and glory, no longer bound to your peers. All implacable foes are defeated and you gain fame and glory, no longer bound to your peers. In your Wisdom, others find their purpose. You protect, and gain fame and glory, no longer bound to your peers. You become what your sought, the source of all, bright, luminous like the Sun. You are the light and gain fame and glory no longer bound to your peers.
May the rising self-awareness bring the fire of wisdom, the ocean of knowledge, the shower of bliss, the Mitras, the divine healers, Brahamnaspathi, Soma and Rudra. May our efforts win the grace of Bhagya, the powerful and strong, the one the conquerors think of. O Bhagya, shower us with your favours and guide us to reach the splendor, greatness and true prosperity reserved for victorious warriors. With your blessing may we mature and grow in peace and remain happy as our days end. May we gain eternity with your blessings and may the Gods accept us. With our sense under control we invoke you O Bhagya. With the dawn of our endeavour, you shower us with blessing of strength and kinship. O Indra, gift me fearlessness and grant protection, destroy the enemies that never rest. O Indra, answer our prayers, you are the Lord, the benevolent in this world and the next. You destroy our enemies and shower us with waters of peace and safety. We praise you with sacret chants, May we cross the waters, under your protection and by Garuda. May The heavenly teacher bless us with protection. With the ecstasy of Soma, the enemies are subdued and the beauty of the world reveals itself. From Brahman came the original event, the luminescence spread to the boundaries of the universe, both the seen and the hidden originate from him. O earth, bring an end to our suffering with Joy now and forever. You are the womb of all creatures. I Worship The Goddess Sri, whose subtle presence is indicated by sweet fragrance, who bring prosperity and is the mother to all creatures. May the Goddess shower her blessings on me. May all that hinders my prosperity be destroyed. The Gods, with their chief Vishnu freed themselves from the fear of their enemies. Let my intellect be illumined by intuition, and the mind happy. He is rendered spiritual by his actions which cleanses his negativities. With this we conquer our enemies. O Indra, having succeeded in killing the Demon, you become all-knowing and enjoy the ecstatsy of union, without any hindrance from our enemies. May we be in harmony with nature, and not so for thise whar not. With the flow of Soma, you grant us bliss, and all things knowable. Let me see all as great and beautiful and experience it as my own. Finally grant us a permanent residence at your abode, having know the life and pleasure on Earth.
The earth is our sustainer, the one who gives us bliss and she supports all life. You were raised up by the Varaha incarnation. Oh, Earth, destroy all the evil and sinful deeds. You have been gifted to us by God. Kasyapa prayed to you, grant me prosperity as all my well-being depends on you. O Goddess, cleanse me so I may be sinless. You have destroyed my sins and made me worthy of the highest goal.
We meditate on the Creator, with one pointed attention and focus, who is present in the primeval waters, in the world and heavens above. He is the greatest of the great, present in every part of creation and is the impelling force for growth. He is the substratum of existence and its final abode. The source of all powers, the past and the future. The First cause, Parjapathi, self supporting and imperishable. Earth and Heaven and the space between is permeated and within Him, who causes the heat and light of the Sun. He who is bound in the hearts of the Sages through meditation, The Imperishable One in who all existence rest. Parkriti's finds her origin in Him, who has created and is the inner controller of the fauna and flora and humans. He is the one without a second, the greatest of the great, all forms are His, imperishable, the oldest, beyond darkness or creator is the universe. He is the subtlest and nothing exists other than Him. That alone is right and true, and the Brahman known by the wise, is the declaration of the Sages. All our spiritual and mundane actions are That. The Origin and Sustainer of this and multitude universes in the past and the present. The Five elements, The Sun, Moon, Stars, Soma and food is That. His is Pashupathi. He is all measures of time. The waters, heaven and earth were milked by him. The length, breath and middle of Him is unknowable. No limits on the great glory of ParmaAtma. His Viswharoopa the eye cannot see. His is only know to those immortal beings who fix their mind and heart on him.
O Mother! Remove this nightmare experience of the Universe, perpetuated by hundreds of people. Destroy my sin. Let your energy rise in me, breaking the knots of ignorance and expanding my consciousness. You energy rises and breaks the bonds in the consciousness of thousands of genuine seekers. My Dearest! We worship you with our offerings.
In the beginning of creation arose the golden seed who is the one lord of all creation, who holds the earth and the heavens. To Him we offer our worship. He is the one who infused us with souls and strength and who the gods obey implicitly. His very shadow is immortal and death. To Him we offer our worship. In his greatness the One is the king of vision and breath. All creatures two and four are created by Him. To Him we offer our worship. The Snow mountains, The oceans and its currents are due to his greatness and belong to Him. The directions are his arms. To Him we offer our worship The solidity of Earth and the majestic force of Heaven are due to Him. He holds the heavens and the world of light. He gives structure to space. To Him we offer our worship. Heaven and Earth resound with gratitude for His protection and support. Their gratitude illumines their minds, with the rising Sun, illumining them. To Him we offer our worship. The all encompassing mighty waters gave birth to the child, and fire and the progenitor. A single breath awoke the Gods. To Him we offer our worship. He held mighty energies, gave them direction and purpose through sacrifice. He is the one God of all gods. To Him we offer our worship. He who is our father protect us, He created heaven and eternal Dharma. He created the waters of delight. To Him we offer our worship. O Prajapati, you are the sole creator of all that is. Our prayers to you hold our desires. May we master ourselves in true happiness.

Rishi: Bhrgu - Angiraa O Lord, Lead this man to the land of the living, releasing him from the grip of the demon and the joint afflictions. He has joined the living and is joyful and is a father to his sons. He lives with unbounded joy after conquering the afflictions and is now joyful. the cures for his disease are thousands in number in the hands of a score of healers. The gods gave us these remedies which are know to the men of knowledge and to the plants themselves. The best healer, the pure one, supported by the other healers will provide the best remedy.
Rishi: Bhrgu-angiraa Let the two herbs free us of the upper and lower bodily ailments. Let darkness and those who confuse become unsubstantial. Let this plant make the disease dissipate. The husks of barley along with this plant destroys the disease and it fades. We offer our obeisance to the tools, the one who ploughs, protects and presides over this field. May this disease disappear.
O Goddess Saraswathi, who is present everywhere, the one who bestows the best please grace us with your presence. With your grace let our thoughts be focused on spiritual matters and not on useless and wasteful discussions that we have been indulging in so far. May our children too be led to this path. O Goddess, When your grace falls on a person, be become a man of knowledge and is liberated, henceforth, a knower of Brahman. O Devi, bestow on us true wealth and prosperity. May Indra, Aswins and Goddess Saraswathi grant me a discerning intellect. Grant me the same intellect as the light-being and the mind of the custodians of knowledge. Grant me the cosmic intellect that manifested as the Vedic knowledge with its sweet frangrance. O Medha, grant me the inner wisdom to understand the true nature of all things in the universe. Let your radiance spread like glittering gold. O Devi, with your radiant face you nurtured me with milk and honey and enfolded me with safety and fame. O Agni, grant me the intellect, creativity, effulgence and controlled senses arising from the chanting of the Vedas. O Surya, grant me the intellect and creativity to frighten my enemies.
Rishi: Atharvaa With this plant that is feared and hated by evil forces removes all curses and washes it away, like water. It is of divine birth. All the curses have no effect including those by enemies, sisters and those by wise men in their anger. Its roots are in heaven and it protects us with its thousand branches with its height on earth. O divine plant, protect our wealth and children from harm. Let the miserly and enemies have no control over us. Those with the evil eye will have their backs broken, Let us have satsang with the kind-hearted. Let the curses return to those who curse.
Rishi: Shaunaka O Agni, let the fire of intent increase with the passing of seasons, time. Good company and truth increase you. Lend your support to all the four regions from your heavenly abode. O Agni, with your fire of enquiry kindled in the person there is only increase. The path to bliss is set. May only those who follow your path come to no harm and be victorious. O Agni, those seekers of Brahman adore you. May you delight in our battles and conquest. You defeat our inner enemies and defeat all temptations. With this intent reside in us constantly and with this single focus. O Agni, none can stand in your way, you bring us together with our friends and enhance our friendship. Join hands with those with same intent and become potent in each.
Rishi: Bhrgu - Atharvana O Indra, with lordship over the senses, enjoy the bliss from Soma. With Soma rejoice. Overwhelmed by the new experience, filled to overflowing with Soma, Let the words you speak be divine. Vrtra, is killed by Indra, our friend, a master. With soma filled enlightenment he overcomes all foes, like Brghu. Let the ecstasy of Soma, enter you, O Indra, and help us. Please hear our mantras and reside willingly here and bring the ecstasy of soma. Destroy the senses seeking mind and clear the obstruction so that the divine may flow within us. Let the illuminating knowledge break the ignorance of the senses and allow the individual consciousness reach its ocean. The self revealed by the three fold sacrifice and soma is the result of the destruction of ignorance with light.
Rishi: Atharvaa We wear this protective device, which keeps us strong and immune to disease and a long life filled with joy. Its strength is equal to a thousand men and protects us from all kinds of evil. It drives of evils, Vishkanda and the consumers. It is a panacea for all ills. It was given to us by the gods in our struggle against demons. Hemp and Jangidamani , one from the woods the other is cultivated. We live long lives, protected agains the evil actions and miserliness of others.
Rishi: Angiraa Your, are an excellent remedied that I made as a cure with the protection of the glacial streams from the mountains. Spread amongst the hundred healing formulae, you protect against bleeding and diseases, O herbs. The healers delve deep to extract you to heal serious wounds. The diseases disappear. Swimmers dive into ocean depths to bring you up, to stop bleeding and make diseases leave. This is also found from the depths of the earth, it too cures bleeding and prevent diseases. Let us experience be peaceful and happy as a direct result of the healing. Indra kills rakshasas. May Indra's aime remain true and fall on the Rakshasas.
Rishi: Maatrnaama The divine custodians of knowledge are the lords of the worlds. All people direct their aspirations to them and they are worthy of consistent intent. You are my mantric goal and I prostrate in surrender to you. In heavens you find your audience. We pray for your grace, being the the supreme ruler of the world. We should offer ourselves only to Him. He is ever blissful, being the master of the Yajna and heaven, clothed in heavenly light. All negative forces are warded off. He is surrounded by Light beings, who are faultless and can be found active in the ocean of consciousness. I offer my prostrations to the heavenly Goddesses shining amongst the Zodiacal nakshatras, who are the radiance of the Knowledge beings. The light drives away the dark forces wherever they look and make the mind blissful.

Through soft and sweet speech, we can transform even demonic persons into decent individuals. Sativur in his golden chariot moves thorugh the darkness acknowledges the immortal and mortal and sees the world. Fire will be our messenger, within whom the knowledge of the entire world is and who performs sacrifice understood by the gods. Let the results of the Yajna reach the one who performs it, and the omniscient lord his sacrificial share who see both 4 legged and two legged creatures. With the blessed woman Indrani, her consort is ever victorious and is the Supreme being offered worship in the entire universe. Oh Brahspati, Our great treasure, your power born of Truth is the radiance that shines above all others, the son of Truth. Oh Indra, the sages of the Sacrifice, serve you eagerly, as you drink the ectstasy, along with Maruths and .Sharayat. Thus you become the heroic Brahmin. The Word first and then the Sun. Water our bliss, O Goddess, be our bliss that quenches our thirst. May we have riches beyond riches, O Creator, who pervades all that is. The Power of Indra rises within us, forever increasing and brings in his wake the Siddhas. The harbinger of dawn, the knowledge, trumpets the arrival of Mother from the east proceeding to our fathers heaven. Rishi: Vena Vena was one with the Supreme, The Mother born, milked that of one form. Svar loka and the Rishis offer worship. Those who truly know it, and those who delight in it, speak to us of the Immortal, the Hidden. Three parts remain veiled, and those who experience it become the guardians of our Fathers. He is our All knowing Father, The all knowing to the seekers of knowledge, the one who gives form to the formless and name to form, the one who gives structure and order. Having travelled the Earth and the skies, I have come seeking refuge in my meditation on the immortal First Born Son, the original Word, hiding in speech, he stands hidden. He is Fire that supports. Having travelled the Earth and skies, I know the universal truth, like strings that spread outward encompassing the immortal Gods universally.
Rishi: Atharvaa For those who wish to live a long healthy life, with minds in equilibrium, intellect and heart harmonised and have through various practices made themselves fit to receive the golden force. I shall encase you with the power that makes you shine strongly for the span of your life of a hundred autumns. With the first born force of the gods, the person of refined intellect and heart, holds the golden force and lives a long life untouched by the negative forces personified by demons and evil spirits. May Indra, Agni and all the gods bless you wholeheartedly and may you unite with the knowledge of the seasons.
Rishi: Atharvaa Suffused with love, our loving actions extract you with love. Your birth and existence in us, O Soma, results from actions filled with supreme love. May my words, thoughts and action be filled with your presence. Your entrance and exits are nectarine, may words become you. Thus I become sweeter than honey and even nectar. Your love for me is like the honey bird. Like the sugarcane and sugar, separate hatred from you. May you always love me and be with me.
From the self effulgent, satwic waters with a golden aura, rose Savitar and Agni, Agni was latent. Let there be peace and happiness for all. Varuna, in the midst, aware of the duality.Agni was latent. Let there be peace and happiness for all. This duality, for the gods, yields Soma. The reign in middle earth. Agni was latent. Let there be peace and happiness for all. O Waters, be conscious of me, wake me with your blissful touch, so I may see your light, pure and shining. Let there be peace and happiness for all.
Rishi: Brahmaa Hear this proclamation, a great mystery, which cannot be found on earth or in the heavens. It is by that the plants breathe. It is the substratum of all, which the wise may or may not know, finding its place in space, like a place for the exhausted. That which the dynamic world and earth created is in timeless motion like the currents of the Ocean. Having in itself all that exists, it rests upon the other. I offer my prayers o the Heavens and Earth, where all things exist,
Rishi: Brahma We offer our worship with the First-Sound of all beings, the immortals, the four regions and the Guardians. May these gods release us from our sins and the binding of the evil-goddess. My worship of you is with offering without fatigue, and the light without limitations. May true riches and well-wishes reach us from the Supreme god of the regions and protectors. Svasti to our parents, our creative sources and all the persons in the world. May our knowledge be perfect and may good be available always. May we see the Source, for long.
Rishi: Atharvaa May all the Gods and the Vasus extend protection to this person O Adityas, be aware of him. Protect him from powerful weapons released by insiders and others. To the attention of all gods, fathers, sons and conscious people, hrst my words, I commend this person. Bear him to his old age, may he be happy in the process O Gods of the Three worlds, the gods of nature, flora and fauna grant him a long life and protect him from hundred untimely deaths. I desire that they become members of this assembly of those who protect the five regions. Here Sacrifices are performed with desire or for its own sake. Offerings are accepted by some here, others obtain it elswhere.
Rishi: Vasishtha The all powerful protection afforded by the powers Indra has strengthened. O Brahmanaspati, let this power increase in every part of the realm. Let all the internal enemies be surrounded and those that resist, may they be defeated. Attack those who corner and abuse us from without. When Savita and Soma, the nectar of bliss, establishes your rule firmly, You are in turn established more. Seeing this, all other beings become your allies. The protection that is afforded to us, is all powerful and cannot be withstood. It binds me to the realm as the sole ruler swept clean of enemies. With the rise of the Soul, and the Word, I have become the slayer of my rivals and enemies Being thus, may all my foes disappear, may I have full control over my kingdom and be seen as the ruler by my people and all beings.
O The Intense fire of Tapas, bring forth the Sat-Chit- Ananda of the Sattvic principle. The Tejas of pure Sattwa. May the grace of Devi lead us to final fulfillment. The one who is latent in the Chariot lead by horses. Who's awakening is heralded by the dawning of Wisdom. May the Goddess of prosperity find me worthy of her true wealth. O Jataveda, may the transcendental beauty of the Sri reveal itself in the intense fire of Tapas. The one who abides in the lotus of a heart filled with Sattwa. O jataveda, invoke the great goddess who's splendor and glory permeates all worlds and is worshipped by the Gods. I take refuge at her lotus feet. With her grace no impurity shall find me. O jataveda, invoke the great goddess who drives away the illusions of the world and the ignorance of our actions through the fire of our tapas. O Jataveda, invoke Lakshmi, create a haven within and without, were all immortal treasures be found. O Jataveda, invoke Lakshmi, who presence destroys all desires and wants in all homes where she resides. O Jataveda, please invoke the Goddess, who is difficult to approach, who is the source of all abundance, and leave a trace of her grace wherever she manifests. O Jataveda, invoke the Goddess, the fulfilment of all my Sadhana, who is represented by the Mantra that I speak, by whose presence both external and internal prosperity is assured. O Jataveda, invoke the Goddess Earth, our basis and our support, please reside with us. O Jataveda, invoke The Goddess of Water, whose presence creates all beauty O Jataveda , invoke the Goddess, who provides soothing nourishment for her seekers. O Jataveda, invoke the Goddess, who supports her devotees in the their sadhana. O jataveda, invoke the Goddess, who by her constant presence and encouragement guides her devotees to abundance. By constant chanting of the 15 verses of Sri Suktam, the devotees who have purified themselves have their longing fulfilled by The Goddess. Salutations to the Goddess, Born of a Lotus, with Lotus eyes within a Lotus face fulfill my yearning of Divine bliss. Salutations to the Goddess, fulfill my inner and outer aspirations O Mother Goddess, may we continue our lineage, grant us our daily sustenance and make our life long and fruitful. You are the power being Agni, Vayu, Surya, Vasus, Indra, Brhaspathi and Varuna. You are the transcendental basis off all that is. Those who are bhakthas of Lord Vishnu be able to drink Soma, and destroy all inner enemies. May I too partake of the Soma, O Goddess the one who holds the Soma. None of the negative emotions including Anger, Jealous, Greed or Evil intentions will reside and in the devotees who always recite Sri Suktam. O Mother, may you grace shower on us like the rain during a thunderstorm and all duality move to the plane of the spirit. You are Brahman and destroy all negative qualities. O Mother Lakshmi, Lover and possessor of lotuses, who resides in lotus with hands and eyes as lotuses, accept my prayer to merge at your lotus feet. O Mother, may you in pure white beautiful form, bless us. O Mother, studded with celestial gems and bathed by heavenly Elephants with waters from Golden chalises, please make my abode auspicious by you Presence. O Mother, my prostrations to the you, whose glance make Lord Brahma, Indra and Shiva great. You are the Lotus in the three worlds and are dear to Lord Vishnu. May your different forms of Siddha Lakshmi, Moksha Lakshmi, Jaya Lakshmi, Saraswati, Sri Lakshmi and Vara Lakshmi be always Gracious towards me. Salutation to the Mother Goddess, Your four hands are in Vara Mudra, Holding the Hook, the Noose and in the gesture of fearlessness, provide boons, removal of obstacles and bondages and provide fearlessness. You stand on the lotus and shower your grace on your devotees. I worship you of Goddess Mother of the Universe, Your three eyes appear as millions of newly risen suns. Salutations to Mother Goddess Lakshmi, Who is Auspiciousness herself, fulfilling all the objective of your Devotees. I Salute you O Narayani, who provides refuge with Three eyes. Who resides in Lotus, hodling a lotus in her hands, dazzling in white garments and fragrant flowers, she is surrounded by a divine Aura. O Mother of all shower your grace on me, the Dearest to Hari, you are the source of all weelbeing and wealth in the three worlds. You are the Consort to Lord Vishnu. We mediate on the form of Mahalakshmi, to awaken our spiritual consciousness. Let your auspiciousness be the source of all our strength, Make our lives long, happy and filled with joy and inner and outer wealth. Please remove all debts, Illness, Poverty, Sins, Hunger, untimely death, fear, sorrow and pain always. You, O Devi, is the essence of all Veda. We know your divine form by meditating on you. Let our Spiritual Consciousness awaken. Let there be peace in the three worlds.
O Gods may we, with our ears listen to what is good, and with our eyes see what is good, O Divine Beings. With limbs and bodies firm may we, extolling you attain the term of life appointed by the Supreme Lord. Now we shall expound mantras of Atharva Veda in relation to the Sun: The seer of this Atharva Aṅgirasa mantra is Brahma, metre Gayatri, Aditya the deity, ‘Hamsas so'ham with Agni and Narayana is the seed, the power is hrillekha or hrim, the pin is the power in the process of unfolding the sky etc., the application is its use in repetition for winning the four human goals (viz. Dharma, Artha, Kama and Mokṣa). The six limbs consist of the seed with six vowels added. He indeed is a Brahmana who thus knows the golden Surya Narayana seated on the chariot with seven horses, impeller of the time-wheel, having four arms bearing two lotuses, the others bestowing promise of refuge and boon, set in the red lotus. Om, Earth, middle region and sky; we meditate on the adorable splendor of Savitar (Sun) who may inspire our thoughts. The Sun is the Self of the world, moving as well as un-moving. From Surya indeed are these creatures born, so also the Yajna (Sacrifice), Parjanya (Rains), food and spirit. I bow to you Aditya; you are the agent himself of work, the manifest Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharva Vedas, as well as all the chandas (Metres). From Aditya are born air, earth, water, fire, sky, directions, Devas, Vedas; indeed the Sun gives warmth to this sphere (Planet) ; that Sun God is Brahman, I bow to Aditya who is the form of antahkarana or inner organs of mind, intellect, mind-stuff and Ego. He is prana, apana, samana, vyana and udhana, (all the five airs circulating in the physical body). He is the five sense organs viz. ears, skin, eyes, tongue and nose whose modifications are sound, touch, form, taste and smell. He is the five motor organs of mouth, hands, legs, anus and generative organ whose modifications are speech, movement of things through hands, movement of the body from place to place through legs, evacuation and procreation. Bliss, knowledge and wisdom are Sun himself. I bow to Mitra, Bhanu, to the shining one, the cause of the universe and let Him protect me from death. All creatures are born of Surya and are protected by him, dissolve in him – I am Surya himself. The divine Savitar is our eye and He is called the Parvata because He indicates Sacred timings through His Time-periods and let Him protect our eyes. We know the Sun. We meditate on the thousand-rayed Sun. May the Sun inspire us! (This is called Surya Gayatri Mantra). Savitar (Sun) is before us as well as behind us, above us and below us. May He grant us omnipresence and long life! Brahman is the single syllable Om, “Ghrini' has two syllables, ‘Surya' also has two syllables. ‘Aditya' has three. This is the mantra of eight syllables. All together the mantra will be "Om, Ghrinih Surya ādityom". This is Atharvāngiras Surya mantra. He who recites this everyday is said to be a Brahmana, If this mantra is recited facing the Sun one is released from the fear of great diseases; his poverty perishes. He becomes free from various sins like eating forbidden food, having forbidden sexual relations, indulging in conversation with people having no character. At midday if one recites this facing the Sun he is released from the five great sins. He should be careful not to impart this Savitri Vidya to undeserving people. He who recites at dawn becomes fortunate, gets live-stock, masters Vedas; reciting during the three periods (dawn, mid-day and dusk) he gets the fruit of performing hundred Yagnas; reciting when the Sun is in Hasta Nakṣatra he conquers death. It is believed even in modern medical science that regular daily prayer to Surya or performing Surya Namskars is deemed to cure all incurable diseases, improve eye-sight, bestow long life, remove ignorance leading to Brahmic knowledge, defeat all inimical forces, grant bliss by eradicating all sorrows or negative thoughts. It is indeed a tool for leading a positive life.
Rishi: Chaatana The Great God Agni has arisen, destroyer of Rakshasas, diseases. The one who burns the deceivers, demons and Kimidins. O Agni, burn the demons who have come to meet you and the kimidins, those who tread the black path. She who curses and does evil deeds seizing our progeny, eating her own and others children for pleasure. Let this yatudhani eat her own son, sister and daughter. They fight each other and destroy each other.
Rishi: Atharva On the opposite bank 21 armed snake formations stand without armour. We use their armour and surprise these evil thieving powers. Let the armies in formation, holding bows , who repeated attack unsuccessfully have the minds weakened. The enemy is weak and in disarray and without mental strength to charge forward. The evil forces fail. Let us move forward enthusiastically to the house of our benefactors and receive gifts. O Indrani, our unconquered queen, receive us.
Rishi: Brahmaa O Gods, may the missile and stone weapons directed against us, by you, fall away. May you be our companion. Bless us with the company of Bhaga, Savita and great acheivements. Maruts, with the power to fly and the skin of the sun brings us happiness spread wide. May we encouraged to take the right paths, protect us and make our children happy.
Rishi: Bhrgu - angirasa When The Dharmic prayed to you O Agni, you entered the body and burned away the waters leading to its preservation. This was your original birth. With this knowledge leave us. You take the forms of flame, light or heat. You exist in each part of us. You are Hrudu and cause yellowness. With this knowledge let the fever be gone. We pay homage to the fever, the cold that burns. You come everyday, on alternative days or on the third day. We pay homage to you.
Rishi: Brahmaa You are of the same force as the first born Sun, who is the reason for the multitude of flora. His strength has gained many victories. His strength has been the remedy against this Kilaasa. With the removal of the Kilaasa the skin has healed. Sarupa, created by the father and mother of the same nature, make the skin normal and uniform. The herb Shyaama, pulled from the ground and allowed to grow as a tree makes this skin uniform.
Om, O Gods, may our sense perceptions be Auspicious, May we unite in our prayers with body and mind. Let our whole life be spend in service of the Divine. May Surya Devata, Indra, Brihaspathi and Tarksya gant us Wisdom, Glory and wellbeing. May there be peace in all the worlds. O Lord Ganapathi, You are the substratum of all existence, you are the creator sustainer and the destroyer. You are all of this and you and the consciousness that pervades all. You are the underlying reality that is beyond creation. This is the cosmic harmony,the absolute truth, Personified in and as, Lord Ganapathi. Protect this Truth, The one who declares it, The Student, The one who transmits and retains and the one who repeats it. Protect this truth from all directions and all sides. You are the essence of The Word, and its source, the consciousness. You are Ananda and its source, Brahman. You are Sath-Chit-Ananda, you are one without a second. You are the manifest universe, You are the spiritual knowledge that blossoms in each individual, you are also the spiritual vision that arises from the greater consciousness. O Ganapathi, protect this Truth that is for the welfare of the world. The Entire Universe, Visible and beyond has arisen from you, It is sustained by You and will be dissolved in you and finally return to you. You have manifested as the five elements, the four types of speech, The Three Gunas, The three states, The three bodies. You are beyond the three states of time. With you grace may we know your Essence beyond Time. You abide in the muladhara chakra, You are the source of Iccha, Kriya and Gyana Shakti. The Yogis always mediate on You. You are Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Indra, Agni, Vayu, Surya, Moon. You are the Absolute, Brahman. Bhur-Bhuvah and Suvar is pervaded by you. You are the Eternal Om. This is the knowledge and path leading to Ganesha. The Rishi who realised this is Ganaka. The meter is Nichrdgayatri. The God is Ganapati. We offer our reverential salutations to Lord Ganapathi. Let us dissolve our minds in the though of the One Tusked Lord. Let us know and meditate on the form of the lord with the curved trunk. May Lord Ganapathi awaken within us. In his manifested form, He has a single tusk, with four hands, tow of which hold the Noose and the goad. He holds a tusk in the third and his fourth is in the Boon giving Mudra. His flag carries the emblem of the Rat. His mesmerizing form has a reddish glow, a large belly, large ears like fans. His garments are red. His form is anointed with Red paste and we worship him with red flowers. The Heart of the compassionate Lord is moved by his devotees. He has taken this form for the benefit of the world. His is Imperishable, Eternal. From the Supreme Person he manifest in all of creation within the manifest world. The best Yogi meditates on this form at all times. Salutations to the Lord of all Human Beings, Salutations to the Lord of all Ganas, Salutations to the Lord of all Demons, Salutations to the Lord with a Big belly and one tusk. Salutations to the one who removes all obstacles the Son of Lord Shiva and the one who grants boons to his devotees.
Rishi: Atharvaa The whole dark herbs that grow at night and give happiness remove the disease of kilaasa nd palitaa. The her Rajani. You make these disease disappear and the associated spots. Let your color replace the white color. Yow who germinates, and ends in a dark places remove the white spots. Kilasa is found in the bones and found in the body and the skin. The White disease begins in polluted environment and causes bodily deformity. By divine knowledge the disease will be completely eradicated.
Rishi: Brahmaa Let the rising Sun dispel both heart disease and Jaundice. Let it be transferred to the Red Sun. We surround the man with red color so he is free of disease and yellow color. You form and strength excel in the rays of the rising red sun and all things auspicious. Let the yellow colour transfer to all things yellow like the parrots and starlings.
Rishi: Atharva O Indra, the slayer of Vritra, vanquisher of enemies and supreme warrior. Be the one to lead us ways from fear granting us freedom. Drinker of Soma, grant us health. The ruler of all creatures. O Indra, destroy the enemies that seek to cause us harm and bring them down. Send to the darkness below. Annihilate the demons and the enemies that are hostile towards us. Break Vritra's jaw, O killer of Vritra, Indra. Destroy the anger. Cast confusion on the minds of our enemies and let their weapons become confused. Protect us and provide safety from our inimical enemies that wish to harm us. Let their thrust not find us.
Rishi: Atharvaa Salutations to God Soma, may I have a loving partner always. Let this sacrifice be blessed by Maruts. Let no defeats, no ill-fame, no crookedness and no hatred approach me. Salutations to Mitra-Varuna, remove us from where the evil army does their killing. Salutation to Varuna, Let no lethal weapons reach us from this or other regions. May your protection neutralise all powerful weapons aimed at us. As a great sovereign you destroy foes and remain unconquered. Your allies never get killed or overcome. Your wisdom is renowned.
Rishi: Brahmaa O Indra, Do not allow those with the diseases that are dangerous to us and diseases that recur to come in contact with us. Keep the arrows of enemies away from us. Let the arrows that we sent and are yet to send hurt the enemies. We praise these divine arrows that are with men. Let Rudras arrows strike those that war against us, whether he is from within our own or outside, related to us or unknown. This Mantra is my inner armor that defends from within against those who curse us or hate us, who is in competition or on the same side.
Rishi: Dravinoda All ugliness, selfishness and evil signs are removed. Whatever is beneficial and auspicious we procure for next generation. We prevent and drive away the selfish ones. Let all defects of hand and feet be removed by the grace of Savita, Varuna, Mitra and Aryama. May we remain joyful in our harmony. Our welfare and happiness has been assured by the Gods. May these powerful Mantras destroy all negative forces in the self and the body including your hair and sight. May the God Savita be the motivator in your efforts and progress. Let all those who are intoxicated with hatred and negative thoughts, who do not abide by the law and harm our wealth, be driven away from us.
