The purpose of the creation, ultimately, is to give the living entities an opportunity to come out of this illusion. And Saṅkarṣaṇa, who is not intimately, but somehow indirectly—connected with the creation of the material world, as mentioned in the Fifth Canto of the Bhāgavatam, before He starts His destruction in the material world through the agency of Rudra, He becomes a little annoyed because He's given unlimited chances for the jīvas in the material world to come back to their senses and come back to Him, and then they say, 'Oh no, I'm not interested.' And it's in that sense of annoyance that the Rudras pop from His forehead and start their dance of destruction and burn down the material world. And then it starts over again, giving an opportunity for all living entities to come back to Godhead. So we can take from this many things. Two general things are that the material world is perfectly accommodating, and if we just adjust ourselves to Kṛṣṇa's purpose, then just as every living being is being fully accommodated to try to enjoy the material world in exactly the way that that living entity wants to be accommodated, we will be fully accommodated in the spiritual world, even if our desire is minuscule. The Lord is waiting for that tiny desire, even of the living entity, to say, 'No, I would like to have You instead.' If He's accommodated every living being to enjoy the material world in exactly the way he or she wants to, makes sense that since His main purpose is for us to come back to Him, that He would also accommodate our desire for devotional service. And the other lesson is that.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Arjun says, "The hosts of gods surrender unto you. Filled with fear, some praise you with folded hands (11.21). The Rudras, Adityas etc. behold you quite astonished (11.22). Seeing your mighty form with many mouths and eyes, many arms, thighs and feet, many stomachs, many terrible tusks, the worlds are terrified, so am I (11.23). Seeing you touching the sky, my mind is terrified and I find no courage or peace (11.24). Seeing your mouths with terrible tusks and fires, I lost sense of directions" (11.25). Arjun says that Gods are filled with fear and worlds are terrified. Fear and favour (expectation) form a set of polarities. Hence, behind a favour, fear is hidden. Favour could be from Paramatma, family, boss or even from ourselves. Fear is born when we apprehend that favour wouldn't be bestowed. When favour seeking is dropped, fear automatically disappears. Gods too are seeking favours from Vishwaroopam of Krishna for themselves or their devotees and hence their fear is bound to follow that. A flowing river is the best example to understand the host of dualities or polarities Arjun finds in Vishwaroopam. A river has two banks and both of them merge as riverbed. A River can't flow with one bank. It invariably needs two banks who are exerting pressure in opposite directions. On the other hand, if these banks don't meet at the riverbed, then it would be an infinitely deep valley and a river can't exist. Our senses can't penetrate water and hence can't perceive the riverbed. They can't even see the opposite bank when the river is mighty. Similarly, we too miss other pair of polarity in this mighty existence. Likewise, we have the manifested world which is invariably polar (river banks) and these polarities unite at the un-manifested (riverbed) and that's what Arjun is seeing in Vishwaroopam.

Lord Krishna shows his Vishwaroopam (opulent form) to Arjun (11.9) who saw many faces and eyes, many wonderful visions, divine ornaments and scents, abounding marvels which are glorious and limitless (11.10 and 11.11). The brilliance is like a thousand suns rising in the sky all at once (11.12). Arjun saw the entire universe within the body of the Supreme Being (11.13).   Krishna granted Arjun Divine Vision as he can't see the Vishwaroopam with his own eyes (11.8). Vishwaroopam consists of Krishna's numerous, glorious, multicoloured, and multi shaped forms in their hundreds and thousands (11.5); Adityas, Vasus and Rudras; many wonderful things that were never before seen (11.6); the entire universe with the moving and unmoving (11.7).   One easy way to look at the Divine Vision is to take it as the granting of a special power by the Lord to Arjun so that he can see the Vishwaroopam. At a deeper level, 'we don't see the world as it is but we see it as we are' because of polarities of pain and pleasure generated in us when senses meet sense objects (2.14). Secondly, the senses and our brain have limited capabilities which prevents us from being able to see two different things as a part of ONE.   Like how a visually challenged person can't perceive light as well as the beauty light brings into our lives, these limitations of senses prevent us from comprehending the unlimited Paramatma and hence Divine Vision is needed. This is nothing but the end of judgements where oneness is perceived around; the end of divisions where others' happiness becomes ours. With Divine Vision, Arjun saw oneness of the entire universe within the body of the Supreme Being. Certainly HIS blessings are needed to attain this vision but these blessings come at the end of our struggle like how Arjun attained it.

When that kalpa was over and the Meghavāhana-kalpa had started, the son of Yajñadatta, Śrīda, performed a severe penance. Realising the efficacy of devotion to Śiva accruing from the mere illumination of His temple with lamps, he reached Kāśī for the illumination of his thought. Under the lustre of the gems of the mind, he repeated the mantras of eleven Rudras with loyal devotion and unswerving concentration of the mind. He could realise his identity with Śiva. These ten strands have been called Junk DNA. Subsequent to the finding of a child with three DNA Strands , researchers are now stating that there may be a total of 12 DNA Strands and ten of them are in the process of mutating and we would have twelve DNA Strands. Is it possible that the information conveys the message that there are 12 DNA Strands? “Here I reveal Myself to you, My beloved friend Arjuna,” says Krishna as he turned the limelight on Himself. “I am the source of even Gods and seers but My origin, no one knows! Only those free of illusions and evil know me as the Supreme Universal Lord, unborn and beginning-less. All unique human attributes like the mind, intellect, truthfulness, contentment, courage, birth-death, joy-sorrow etc., arise in me. And from My mind were born sages, saints, and Manus, from whom all others evolved.   Through Bhakti Yoga, the wise surrender and unite with Me, the origin of all creation, with loving devotion and faith. And I dwell in their hearts, destroy ignorance, and bestow the divine knowledge to attain me.” Understanding Krishna as the Supreme Divine Personality, Arjuna acknowledged the Lord's all-pervasive greatness and requested Him to tell him about his glories and manifestations. And Krishna continued. “I remain the beginning-middle-end of all beings, in whose hearts I reside, and in every category of beings and things, I reign as the greatest and the best!         Among Aditi's sons, I am Vishnu; among the luminous, the Sun; among stars, the Moon; among Vedas, the Samaveda; and among lives, the consciousness.” Proceeding further, Krishna narrated what pride of place he occupied among – the Rudras, demons, mountains, rivers, priests, warriors, archers, water bodies, sages, seers, chants, science, immovable things, trees, celestials, humans, animals, birds, elephants, horses, cows, serpents, weapons, ancestors, law-dispensers and the like. “Also, I am Brahma among creators, endless time among controls, Margsheersh among months, Gayatri among poetic meters, spring among seasons, virtue in the virtuous, wisdom in the wise, silence among secrets, all-encompassing death, origin of things yet-to-be, and all noble qualities. And among the Vrishnis, I am Krishna, and Oh Arjuna, among the Pandavas, I remain Arjun! I am the seed that sprouts as living beings, and nothing, moving or otherwise, exists without Me. And infinite is My manifestations. Therefore, o vanquisher of enemies, anything wonderful, powerful, and glorious, be sure that it springs only from a spark of My unfathomable magnificence! Indicating that they are one. Like the power of singing resides in the singer and whenever the singer wants, can invoke the power and utilise. Power to create, sustain and destroy resides in the Lord and the Lord manifests it whenever required. They both are one. It is not that Purusha is higher and Prakriti is lower. Same way the Power of singing remains in the Singer. Ofcourse the power to sing resides in the singer and is dependent on the Singer but the Singer can remain without singing. This name is also praised in the Vedas as द्रापे अन्धशस्पते दरिद्रं नीललोहित drāpē andhaṡaspatē daridraṃ nīlalōhita. So they did not want to take forward the creation. Brahmaji prays to Lord Shiva to help him to take creation forward. Shiva appears in front of Brahmaji in the Ardhanareeshwara Rupa. Brahmaji gives 11 abodes to them. They are our 10 senses and our Subtle Body – Mind. Symbolism of the story is – When creation has to be taken forward, both Purusha and Prakriti are required. Any one of them alone cannot do it. All Jivas / All of us are born from Purusha & Prakriti who are Neela-Lohita. Hence we are also Neela-Lohita, Blue-Red in color – Purusha-Prakriti combination. Goddess Aditi is an ancient Vedic Goddess. In the Vedic literature she is referred to as the Cosmic mother and is the female counterpart of Lord Brahma. She is known as the divine mother of all gods and a Guardian to the Cosmos. In some scriptures she also mentioned as the Goddess of sky and consciousness. She is all-pervading and beyond time and space. The most prominent aspect of her is her motherhood. She is prominently known as the mother of supreme gods like Sun, Indra, Varuna, and Mitra. The 12 Adityas (Demigods) are born from Aditi. Now let us understand her story in detail According to Hindu Purana at the beginning of creation, Lord Brahma had sent his son Daksha on Earth to propagate life. Daksha married Queen Prasuti (daughter of Manu) and together had 60 divine daughters. Goddess Aditi was one among them. She had many sisters like Sati, Khyati, Diti, Rohini, Vijaya, etc. Sage Kashyap (one of the Saptarishis) went on to marry 13 of these sisters. Aditi and Diti were also among them. Kashyap and Aditi together had 33 sons who were the 12 Adityas,11 Rudras,8 Vasus, and 2 Ashwin Kumara (Ashwin Kumara in some scriptures are replaced by Indra and Prajapati.) Lord Vishnu in his Vamana avatar was also born to Aditi and Kashyap. She is also referred to as the mother of Lord Krishna in the form of Devaki. Aditi's sister Diti is the source and mother of all Demons. Diti was insecure and jealous and wanted the Demons to be treated equally as the Gods. In some other scriptures Aditi has been mentioned as the source of everything that exists today. Before creation the Universe existed inside Aditi's womb. Aditi also refers to freedom and someone who is boundless and cannot be tied. Anyone seeking ultimate freedom worships Aditi as she can free the devotee from his or her misery. Like other Gods and Goddesses, Aditi also has her mount and she flies across the Universe on a Pheonix which symbolizes strength and power. She along with her son Varun are known to be the Guardian of Cosmic moral order and are upholders and righteousness and honesty. The Supreme being, Naryana willed the creation of all living beings. From Him emerged the breathe of life, Prana. So too, the mind, senses and elements of creation: earth, fire and water also emerged from Him. From Narayana emerged Bramha, the Creator. From Narayana emerged Rudra, the Destroyer. From Narayana emerged Indra, the Ruler of Beings. From Narayana emerged the Prajapathis, twele Adityas, Rudras and all the vedas. From Narayana alone emerged all forms of wealth. All beings emerged from Narayana in the beginning. Ultimately, all beings will merge in Narayana too. Aum, Narayana is Eternal. Narayana is the Creator, Brahma. Naryana is the Destroyer Shiva. Narayana is Indra too. Naryana is the inner principle of heavens and earth. Narayana is time itself. The directions too are Narayana. Narayana is present in higher and lower worlds. Narayana forms the inner and outer worlds. t/he Supreme Being, Narayana is everything past and present. Blemishless, ever blissful, one without another, all-pervasive, pure and one divinity – thus is Narayana. Truly He is one without a second. Only one who knows this can merge in Him. The great mantra of Naryana begins with the word “Om”. This is followed by the word “Namo”. The final word is “Naaraayanaaya”. “Om” is a single syllable and “Namo” is two. “Naaraayanaaya” is five syllables. Together they form the eight syllabled great mantra: “Om Namo Naaraayanaaya”. Verily, one who contemplates on this mantra, again gets good health all his life. He attains kingly proseperity, knowledge and rulership. He attains immortality. Truly, he attains immortality. The blissful Supreme Being resides within, as the life principle in the form of “Aum”. “Aum” consists of sounds A, U and M. It is supreme bliss and peace. Yogis who know this, chant it regularly and attain liberation by breaking the bonds of life and death. Those who adore the mantra “Om Namo Naaraayanaaya” attain the Supreme Abode of Vaikunta. Narayana's seat is the lotus of the heart. This knowledge is the highest and shines like lightening. Krishna, the son of Devaki is the very embodiment of Brahma. He alone resides in all beings, the infinite basis of everything. He himself is causeless. All this is well said in the Atharva Veda. If this Upanishad is chanted in the morning, it destroys the sins of the previous night. If it is chanted in the evening, it destroys the day's sins. If chanted at noon, whilst facing the sun, truly does it pulverize the five great sins. Whoever chants this Upanishad, receives the merit of studying all the Vedas. Finally, he attains oneness with Narayana Himself. Indeed, he attains oneness with Narayana. These are the teachings of the Narayana Upanishad. May there be Peace, Peace, Peace.

The History of Square-Enix - Part 4: The Golden age of the 2D RPG

This week, we read part four of Joe's Epic Enjoy! History of Square-Enix - Part 4: The Golden age of the 2D RPG   Enix could have floated on Dragon Quest V mega-release for the next 10 years, but they were well on their way with publishing multiple I.P.’s for the rest of the early 90’s., although this wasn’t without a few setbacks.   Enix released “The 7th Saga” in 1992, which had both mediocre reviews, as well as middling sales, and King Arthur and the Knights of Justice was apparently a hunk of Junk.   And in 1993, Enix released E.V.O: Search for Eden (A prehistoric RPG filled with dinosaurs) to similar results as the 7th Saga.   Square, however, was on top of the world. Secret of Mana in 1992 would go on to sell 1.83 million copies worldwide. It was praised as for it’s gameplay, music, and graphics, and would later be called “one of the high points of the 16 bit era” by Edge Magazine, as well as one of the greatest games of all time by famitsu, Nintendo Power, and IGN.   Although not nearly as well regarded, Square released Romancing Saga 2 to similar commercial results.   These games would kick off the golden age of 2 Dimensional JRPG’s.   Enix, in this SNES era, released a slew of games from ‘93 to ‘95, mostly in Japan due to the middling sales of Dragon Quest.   One of these was puzzle filled action RPG called “Brain Lord”, which was well reviewed, though didn’t exactly set the world on fire.   “Robotrek” would follow: a sci-fi precursor to pokemon in a sci-fi universe, that unfortunately tanked on released.   “Terranigma”, which told the story of a boy named “Ark” trying to resurrect Earth, would later be hailed as a forgotten classic, but went nowhere near Square’s sales at 200,000 copies.   An RPG/Sim/War game called Ogre Battle (one of Enix’s most important games) was released to rave reviews, and would set the stage for it’s more famous sequel: Tactics Ogre.   Little is known about Enix’s game “Jyutei Senki”, except that it was only ever released in Japan, and that it’s a science fiction RPG game. “Mystic Ark” was another little-known RPG game put out by Enix, although it was successful enough to spawn a playstation sequel in 1999.   The biggest game of 1995 (Sorry Square) was Dragon Quest 6. It sold a whopping 3.2 Million copies, and this was only in Japan!   By this time Enix had given up on selling games outside of Japan, and before 1996’s game “Star Ocean” was released, they had closed their offices in North America. The game did alright for itself, selling about as much as “Terranigma” did before it, but as with a couple of these games it’s now looked upon as a forgotten gem in the west, Nintendo Life eventually praising it as one of the best-looking games on the Super Nintendo.   In contrast, Square was doing quite well in North America, while still doing good business in Japan. For Square, almost everything they touched turned to gold.   In 1994, Square would release one of it’s most well known RPG classics, “Breath of Fire” to good reviews and financial success.   But that was nothing compared to Final Fantasy VI, now seen as one of the greatest games of all time by most sources, eventually selling almost 4 million copies worldwide. That game is f--king awesome.   Last in ‘94, the forgotten game “Live a Live” would also be followed by another big success in early ‘95: “Front Mission” a sci-fi tacticle RPG game would sell half a million copies in the first week of release.   That same year we would see what some have called “The greatest RPG game of all time”, Chrono Trigger, a ground-breaking (I think, I haven't played it) RPG praised for it’s gameplay and non-linear story filled with optional endings that have kept people coming back to the game over and over for the last 20 years.   Square would round of 1995 with hits that included the 3rd mana game, Secret of Evermore, and Romancing Saga 3.   Square was on a role. Kazushige Nojima would direct a game called “Bahamut Lagoon” in 1996, and they’d follow that up with the famous and well-regarded Super Mario RPG.   By the end of 1996 Square was setting it’s sights on the 3rd dimension, and it’s last 2 games on the SNES: “Treasure of the Rudras” and “Treasure Hunter G”, would be overshadowed by the new consoles that were gaining some steam: Sony’s Playstation and the Nintendo 64.
