Dr. Rebecca Hunter, VP of Exploration at Forum Energy Metals (TSX.V:FMC – OTCQB:FDCFF), joins me to unpack the key takeaways from next batch of 2 drill holes released from the 2024 exploration program to the market on January 21st. These holes expand the mineralization at the Qavvik anomaly; Forum's second basement-hosted deposit, located within their 100% owned Aberdeen Project in Nunavut, Canada. These 2 holes compliment the more than 2 dozen historic holes that were drilled by Cameco into the Qavvik deposit, and had the highest grade results to date. This successful exploration program intersected a 296-metre-wide zone of uranium mineralization with grades up to 8.2% U3O8 in a newly identified lens and resulted in more than 20 assays with grades greater than 1% U3O8. Mineralization is open to the northeast and southwest, and the shallow depths along with the thick overall uranium intercepts demonstrate the open pit potential of this deposit. These 2 Qavvik drill holes expanded that basement-hosted deposit, much like the previously released 19 holes drilled into the Tatiggaq area also expanded that basement-hosted deposit. Rebecca outlined how the 2 prior year's drill results will likely be combined with relogging of historic drill holes completed by Cameco, to work towards the delineation of a Maiden Resource Estimate at Tatiggaq and Qavvik deposits in the future. This mineralization in the basement-hosted rock is similar in nature to the nearby 133 million pound Kiggavik uranium project held by Orano/Denison/UEC, located about five kilometers to the west of the Tatiggaq deposit. Wrapping up we look ahead to the upcoming drill hole assays still to release from last year's exploration program from highly prospective regional targets. There are still holes to release from the Ned, Ayra, and Loki targets, with the goal of testing and exploring for the higher-grade unconformity style of deposits; similar to what is found in the Athabasca Basin. If you have any follow up questions for Rebecca or the team at Forum Energy Metals, then please email them into me at Shad@kereport.com. Astral Resources NL (ASX:AAR) managing director Marc Ducler joins Proactive's Tylah Tully to talk through results from the company's recent drilling campaign, which included a significant high-grade gold intercept of 3 metres at 177 g/t at the Kamperman prospect, part of the Feysville Gold Project in Western Australia. This result is from the first 20 holes of a 31-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program. Ducler commented on the unexpected high-grade results, which suggest the presence of substantial gold mineralisation yet to be fully explored. Previous notable intercepts include 2 metres at 188 g/t gold from 77 metres. Recent assays show further promising results, including 12 metres at 7.26 g/t from 23 metres, with higher grades within the interval. Hole FRC377 also returned positive results, including 12 metres at 1.96 g/t from 20 metres. Kamperman remains open to the north following additional step-out holes that intersected gold. Future diamond drilling is planned to better understand these zones. Astral's ongoing activities include additional drilling at other prospects, groundwater testing at Mandilla, and infill drilling at Iris and Theia. #ProactiveInvestors #AstralResources #ASX #GoldExploration #KampermanProspect #WesternAustralia #HighGradeGold #MiningUpdate #FeysvilleProject #DrillResults #MarcDucler #Mineralisation #GoldAssay #RCDrilling #DiamondDrilling #GoldIntercept #MiningIndustry #ExplorationUpdate #ResourceEstimation #MandillaProject #GoldMining #InfillDrilling

About 5000 square metres of reef has been damaged by HMNZS Manawanui as it went down in a marine reserve off the southern coast of Samoa. Clean up and salvage operations are underway as debris continues to come loose from the vessel. Three cargo like containers are among the contents to come away, two are floating in the sea with one now stuck on the reef. There's also a thin oil slick on the water which - we are told - is residue from the sinking. But the 950 tonnes of fuel inside the vessel is still contained. Reporter Louise Ternouth is on Samoa's southern coast and has been out on the water with the defence force today.

Welcome back to the freedom project podcast. Thanks for putting up with the two week absence of podcasts. Things have been a little crazy since I got back from Pakistan. Fair to say, life is full steam ahead. My wife is 17 weeks pregnant, we're due to move into our first house purchase in 6 days' time, and during all of that, I went to an uncontactable region of the world & experienced the most incredible times. I said in a podcast a few months back, that at some point, you have to just say “fuck it” and book the trip. The months between then and now, have been crazy. I've been forced to grow more than I expected, and in a completely different direction from normal. I've learned far more than I bargained for, and I want to pass as much of that on to you as possible. So, in light of that, I am giving you access to a training I put together for my clients in the Adventurepreneur Collective. It's called 7 lessons from 6000 metres: a guide to personal development. It's a summary of the most essential lessons I learned. Now, because I want to protect the privacy of the members of the collective, there are some pieces that are edited out. So there may be some pieces you feel are non sequiturs. That being said, you guys are all intelligent and you'll be able to piece together what is missing. So, here are 7 lessons from 6000 metres. Enjoy

It was my fault. One of those things that came about because of whole lot of factors, but which can ultimately be boiled down to doing too much at once. Work, family, life. I was too stretched. Too stressed. And something gave. But why did it have to be the trees? This will sound really crazy, but I only realised afterwards that maybe the single-biggest reason I bought my home, was the trees. We've got a section that slowly slopes down, so the backyard is at a lower level than the main living area. It means you would step in off the street, walk into the main living area on the top storey, and suddenly be eye-to-eye with a huge wall of green. A jacaranda, a plane tree, a karaka and a pohutakawa, all of them probably decades old, and with enough thickness in the coverage that you couldn't see beyond them. I would step out of Auckland, the noise and the traffic, and into this perfect green sanctuary. A cocoon. Tui, blackbirds, piwaka, they loved it. The problem with a perfect green canopy with no light passing through is my neighbour noticed no light was passing through. She asked if we could prune the trees. Just to let some morning light through. They must have been almost twenty metres high. I wanted to do the neighbourly thing. A lovely guy came around and surveyed the canopy. “We'll do it on Thursday.” he said. I think it was a communication thing, which is another reason why I take the blame. If anyone should be able to communicate, it's the professional communicator, right? But my wife and I were at work all day, and by the time we got home, it was done. The trees weren't just pruned, they were pruned. Metres taken out of them, right across the top. A straight, brutal cut. Like a bowl cut, but for trees. With all of thickest green canopy, the leaves that provided such a dense, rich canopy, the favourite branches for tui and the piwakawaka, gone. I walked into my lounge, where previously I'd stare out at a wall of green. I stared out at a wall of houses. I looked at the stumps of the branches, and I felt tears prick in my eyes. My wife didn't hold back. She walked in the front door, looked at the trees and tears streamed down her face. The neighbour was delighted at how much light was now passing through. Two nights have passed. Both nights I've had broken sleep, lying there thinking about the trees. My wife isn't much better. She said she felt we damaged their wairua. I can rationalise it. The trees aren't dead. And I do know they'll grow back. It may even be that their prune encourages rich, fulsome, rapid new growth. And when there are more leaves and coverage instead of stumpy branches, it'll be a whole lot less brutal. But no amount of fertiliser or hugs can really speed up the process. We're looking at years before they are back to where they were. And honestly, I feel terrible about it. I feel stupid. I feel guilty, and I feel grief. Yeah. I grieve for my trees. I know that in the future I'll laugh about it, but right now it is a very painful lesson. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
