I have been an entrepreneur from 2012-2017 building two products AddoDoc and Babygogo. After selling my company to SHEROES, I and my partner Nansi decided to start up again. But we felt unequipped in our skillset in 2018 to build a large company. We had known 0-1 journeys from our startups but lacked the experience of building 1-10 journeys. Hence was born The Neon Show (Earlier 100x Entrepreneur) to learn from founders and investors, the mindset to scale yourself and your company. This quest still keeps us excited even after 5 years and doing 200+ episodes. We welcome you to our journey to understand what goes behind building a super successful company. Raw Talks With Vamshi Kurapati - Telugu Business Podcast

In this special episode of Raw Talks, we sit down with the legendary comedian and actor, Brahmanandam, to uncover the lesser-known aspects of his life, philosophy, and career. Known for his impeccable comedic timing and record-breaking contributions to Indian cinema, Brahmanandam sir shares deeply personal stories, his thoughts on life, and the values that have shaped him into the person he is today.A devout believer in Venkateshwara Swamy, Brahmanandam sir opens up about his spiritual side and the lessons he has learned through faith. He speaks passionately about poverty, an experience that shaped his worldview and his approach to success. Recalling his early days as a lorry painter, he reflects on what it truly means to be poor, his father's wisdom, and why he does not believe in the rigid distinction between the rich and the poor. His insights into money, materialism, and contentment offer a fresh perspective, reminding us that wealth is not just about financial gain but also about one's mindset and values. He shares powerful anecdotes like the fruit basket example and how he learned the importance of self-reliance, refusing to seek help even in dire circumstances. His deep belief in karma and his acts of kindness, such as helping 23 women get married, further highlight his compassionate nature. The conversation takes a reflective turn as Brahmanandam sir discusses how people perceive him differently outside the industry. He shares how financial realities dictate professional relationships and why no one truly works for free. One of the most compelling stories he narrates is the boat incident and his mantra on handling loss and gain. His thoughts on life's unpredictability and the importance of staying grounded serve as powerful lessons. The discussion extends to the fate of comedians, drawing parallels between legends like Rajababu, Jandhyala, and even Hollywood comedians, who often hide deep struggles behind their laughter. He delves into the pain behind comedy and why most comedians have a sad past. With profound reflections on gratitude, he talks about his deep respect for Jandhyala and Sunnam Anjaneyulu, highlighting how divine intervention often comes in the form of human connections. He recalls an interesting chapter from his life titled "Brahmanandam Ratri Antha Taagesi" and shares his thoughts on adjustment, a concept he finds dangerous. The conversation then shifts to his unexpected status as a ‘Meme God.' While he appreciates the humor, he feels the title does not fully capture the depth of his journey. He acknowledges the efforts of meme creators but also reminds us of the larger picture—the unpredictable nature of success and luck. The conversation also explores the depth of emotional performances by comedians. He explains why their rare serious roles resonate deeply with audiences, referencing the works of AVS and M.S. Narayana. With wisdom drawn from biographies and life experiences, he highlights the human tendency to find fault in others and how people often misunderstand intentions. His statement, "Mana gurinchi evaranna mana venaka matladithe, vallu venaka manam mundhu unnattu," leaves a lasting impression. As the interview progresses, we move into lighter topics, including his role as a grandfather in his latest project and how his son Goutham reacted to calling him ‘Tatha' on screen. Brahmanandam sir humorously addresses industry rumors, including whether the film would have been halted without his presence. Goutham shares insights into the filmmaking process, the order in which scenes are shot, and the importance of knowing the story beforehand. A fun segment follows where they discuss memes, social media, and Brahmanandam sir's Instagram debut. This episode is a deep dive into the life and philosophy of one of India's most beloved comedians. It is filled with laughter, wisdom, and heartwarming moments that will leave you inspired.

“There is no difference between the thumblike Vishnu in the womb of Uttara and the full-fledged Narayana in the Vaikuntha-dhama, the kingdom of Godhead. He accepts the form of archa-vigraha (worshipable Deity) just to accept service from His different incapable devotees. By the mercy of the archa-vigraha, the form of the Lord in material elements, the devotees who are in the material world can easily approach the Lord, although He is not conceivable by the material senses. The archa-vigraha is therefore an all-spiritual form of the Lord to be perceived by the material devotees; such an archa-vigraha of the Lord is never to be considered material.” (Shrila Prabhupada, Shrimad Bhagavatam, 1.12.9 Purport)

This conception of God evolved in various traditions in India, especially in South India, during the first millennium CE. The history of this development is reconstructed here by various means, including philological exegesis, the history of ideas, and iconographic evidence. In their respective discussions, the contributors examine a range of textual material in Sanskrit, Tamil, and Manipravala, including the early Cankam literature of the 3rd to 6th century CE; the Vaisnava text corpus, in particular the Nalayiradivviyapirabandham (6th-9th century CE); Puranic literature, especially the Visnupurana (5th-6th century CE); Pancaratra literature; and the later (10th-14th century CE) literature of the philosophical and theological tradition of theistic Visistadvaita Vedanta, in which Visnu-Narayana plays a central role. Is there a stotram (devotional set of verses) composed by Adi Shankaracharya that laments one's helpless condition, seeks divine protection, surrenders to Bhagavan, lays out the stumbling blocks in one's spiritual journey and invokes the urgency of enquiry into samsaara - all at once! It is Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Karavalamba Stotram! In part 1, Viren talked about healthcare in India – something he described as an “assembly line.” If you remember listening to it, you'll know that Viren has both intricate knowledge and undeniable intuition about the healthcare landscape in India. We discussed Viren's ambitions to fix healthcare in India and where Narayana Health is headed. That led us to why Viren holds this mission so close to his heart, in this second part of our conversation. What led him to healthcare? What drives him to wake up and do this, day after day? In our opening, you heard about Viren's innate pattern recognition superpower, which is very different from his father Dr. DeviShetty's.So, how did he build this intuition? Welcome to the first 2024 episode of First Principles! Though we're only 15 months old, we're also technically into our third calendar year, after our first episode in August 2022. A happy new year to you. Here's to many more years of wonderful conversations, learning and growing. Our guest today is Viren Shetty, the executive vice chairman of Narayana Health—the publicly listed healthcare group that operates over two dozen hospitals across India. Refreshingly, Viren thinks about healthcare…as an assembly line. And there are many, many steps in this line. Many of these are very small...they seem unimportant. Even forgettable. Like scheduling an annual healthcare checkup. Or filling out a feedback form at your clinic. Or just waiting in line for your doctor's appointment. When I asked Viren how healthcare can be fixed in India, he pointed to this assembly line. Basically, what if you tweak every small step of this line a little bit? Small, unnoticeable changes at every step? He's confident that the result will be a smooth, well-oiled machine that takes care of your health end-to-end. This is what, Viren says, Narayana Health is trying to do. It reminded me of Apple. Take existing technologies and make improvements while putting the user at the centre of the experience. Narayana Health is a name you might have heard, especially if you're from Bangalore. It was founded in 2000 by Dr. Devi Shetty. It went public in 2016 and is valued at over US$1 billion. But what we know as Narayana Health today began as Narayana Hrudayalaya, a super speciality hospital with a laser-sharp focus on cardiac health. Twenty years on, however, it's changed a lot.In addition to its numerous hospitals across India, it's also venturing into health insurance policies, partnering with clinics and pharmacies, and building an ambitious bundled subscription plan for its customers. This episode is a first in more ways than one. It's not just our first episode of 2024. It's also the first episode with a guest from the healthcare sector. And it's the first episode which may sound a little different to you. In this episode, I ask Viren:Why are health checkups such a hassle? Is the answer to better healthcare in hardware or software? What are the health tech startups doing right? And then there is the unshakable mistrust that the Indian population holds against hospitals and doctors. Can this even be solved?Patiently and confidently, Viren answers every one of my questions. He talks about building sticky habits in customers, changing the messaging in healthcare, and becoming “worse” as an insurance company to be better as a healthcare one.In this episode, we truly get down to the first principles of healthcare in India.Check out the First Principles Newsletter, a weekly Sunday read on entrepreneurship, mental models, leadership and reflection here.Send in submissions for book recommendations, interesting reads, Silent Sunday pictures or songs for the First Principles newsletter here. This is Episode 34 of First Principles, Viren Shetty—The Ken's fortnightly leadership podcast. The Ken is India's first subscriber-only business journalism platform. Access VC's Rakesh Narayana: Investors have a responsibility to envision the future of consumer products

Over the past five years, corporate venture capital (CVC) has emerged as a major player in the startup funding space. And CPG company Reckitt plans to be front and center of that change through its own CVC firm, Access VC. In 2020, Rakesh Narayana, gm of Access VC, saw that most consumer venture funding was flowing toward traditional food and beverage consumer brands, not categories like sexual health and hygiene, to which Reckitt is dedicated. Reckitt owns brands like condom brand Durex, feminine hygiene brand Queen V and sexual wellness brand KY. Additionally, there was a dearth of brands serving or being led by people of color, coupled with a growth in better-for-you brands. Since its launch, in 2020 Access VC has invested more than $50 million in over 30 startups, including sexual wellness brand Maude and men's wellness brand Asystem, across pre-seed to Series C rounds and beyond. On the latest episode of the Glossy Beauty podcast, Narayana shared that he grew up in India and was raised by a single mother before moving to London for higher education. From there, he worked at Boston Consulting Group as a consultant before entering the CPG category. He said his love for CPG stems from an appreciation for its tangibility and tactile nature and the way consumers interact with and are influenced by consumer brands. While at Reckitt in various roles, he saw the gap between large CPG conglomerates and more innovative indie brands, and the solution he spotted was corporate venture capital. “There is a large difference and gap between big companies being able to do disruptive innovation and the startups and universities and laboratories that have real cutting-edge innovation,” he said. “Corporate venture capital, in some ways, is meant to bridge that gap. Large companies are exceptionally good at making $100 million brands into $1 billion brands but perhaps not as good at creating brands which don't exist [and growing them] to a $100 million brand.” Narayana detailed the Access VC investing strategy, the way it differs from traditional venture capital and the role investors have in fostering innovation.
