Indigenous scholar Tyson Yunkaporta (Apalech clan (Wik) Lostmob Nungar) joins the Mongabay Newscast to detail the Aboriginal perspectives behind his latest book, Right Story, Wrong Story: Adventures in Indigenous Thinking. The book explains how stories shape society, how they can harm us and the environment, and how they may save our species and the natural world. Yunkaporta explains how Indigenous laws, systems and lore can help us improve modern society, specifically in how humans relate first to the land, then to each other, and why this shapes how we exploit nature and care for it. Identifying the "wrong story" is critical, Yunkaporta explains, to correcting harmful behaviors or ways of governing. Ultimately, it's a lie, he says. Personified by what he characterizes as narcissistic or selfish behavior, it's generally seen by those who exploit the natural world at the expense of community well-being. "It's a terrible thing to … misrepresent things, make false claims, bear false witness in a way that is bending story, the story that everybody follows. The narratives that people tell that weave together to make a community and to hold a community on the right path that's sustainable for thousands of years." Podcast Episode Description – Concepts & Conversations: Discipline PersonifiedIn this episode of Concepts & Conversations, listeners are invited into a thoughtful discussion about the true meaning and necessity of discipline in personal growth, spiritual development, and long-term success. Titled “Discipline Personified,”this episode explores the reality that many people desire results, achievement, and abundance, yet often struggle with the consistent work required to sustain those outcomes. The conversation centers around the idea that discipline is not simply about motivation or temporary bursts of effort, but about building sustainable habits, managing time effectively, and developing the mental and emotional endurance necessary to maintain progress. The episode highlights how success is often lost not because of a lack of talent or opportunity, but because discipline is inconsistent once initial goals are achieved.Listeners are encouraged to evaluate how daily choices—including health decisions, time management, spiritual habits, and personal boundaries—directly influence long-term outcomes. The episode emphasizes that discipline begins with honest self-evaluation and requires individuals to identify areas where comfort, convenience, or overcommitment may be limiting their growth.A key theme throughout the discussion is the difference between quick results and lasting transformation. The episode examines how extreme measures or short-term efforts can produce temporary change, but long-term success requires gradual, intentional habit development. It reinforces the idea that sustainable progress is built through consistent small decisions rather than dramatic overnight changes. The episode also explores how personal discipline affects other areas of life, including relationships, career goals, creative development, and overall quality of life. It highlights the importance of aligning daily habits with long-term vision, while recognizing that meaningful growth often requires letting go of distractions, unhealthy routines, and patterns that no longer support personal goals.Spiritually, the conversation encourages listeners to combine discipline with intentional reflection, strategy, and clarity of purpose. It emphasizes the importance of seeking guidance, creating structured goals, and remaining committed to improvement even when progress feels slow or uncomfortable.“Discipline Personified” serves as a motivational and reflective conversation designed to help listeners evaluate their habits, refocus their priorities, and develop the consistency needed to support the life they desire to build.

Victoria shares her harrowing journey from a childhood defined by abuse, addiction, and trauma to becoming a global voice on "healthy resilience". She discusses the pivotal moment when she realized her "Iron Maiden" nickname was a sign that her professional armor was actually distancing her from her humanity. The conversation explores how leaders can shed their protective shields, embrace vulnerability, and build cultures where people can succeed without breaking.   Key Takeaways:   - Resilience is a Muscle: While some resilience may be innate, it is primarily a muscle that can be developed and strengthened through intentional work. - Armor vs. Humanity: Wearing a "shield of protective armor" to appear strong can often be perceived by others as a lack of emotion or empathy. - Humanize Your Leadership: Small, deliberate actions—like spending the first few minutes of a meeting on personal connection—can bridge the gap between performance and humanity. - Embrace Discomfort: Stepping into the "zone of discomfort" is necessary for high-performers to learn how to show vulnerability and lead as their whole selves.   Episode Chapters:   00:00 Introduction and Episode Overview 00:52 Meet Victoria Pelletier: A Story of Resilience 03:02 Victoria's Early Life and Challenges 05:07 The Iron Maiden: Leadership and Resilience 07:25 Balancing Strength and Vulnerability in Leadership  14:25 Maintaining Authenticity in Corporate Leadership 16:53 Closing Remarks and Future Plans 23:00 Final Thoughts and Farewell

Part 5 of this sermon centers on Proverbs 8:17–21, presenting wisdom as personified in Christ, who calls all to seek Him earnestly, not out of natural inclination but in response to God's prior initiative. It emphasizes that true wisdom—eternal, righteous, and life-transforming—is accessible to those who love and pursue it diligently, even when starting from a place of spiritual darkness, because God graciously provides light through creation, conscience, and special revelation. The message contrasts fleeting, worldly riches with enduring, God-given substance—riches of honor, righteousness, and eternal inheritance—that are found only in alignment with divine wisdom and faithfulness. Through personal testimony and biblical teaching, it warns against the destructive pursuit of temporal gain at the expense of spiritual integrity, urging listeners to prioritize God's will, embrace His enduring values, and trust in His promise to fill those who seek Him with lasting, unshakable treasures.

In this message, we look at Jesus' first recorded miracle—the turning of water into wine. What seems at first like a simple wedding story is actually a powerful sign of who Jesus is and what He has come to do. Using large stone jars meant for ceremonial purification, Jesus shows that He has not come to patch up empty religion, but to replace it with something far better.Where there was emptiness, He brings abundance. Where there was external ritual, He brings inner renewal. Where there was lack, He brings overflowing joy. John tells us this miracle “revealed His glory”—and we'll explore what that means for our faith, our hearts, and our daily walk with Christ.

Part 4 of this sermon presents wisdom as a divine, personified reality rooted in Christ, emphasizing that true strength originates solely from God, who is the source of all power—physical, spiritual, and governmental. It argues that human weakness and the chaos of the world underscore our need for divine strength, as God sovereignly controls all rulers and circumstances, even using flawed leaders to fulfill His eternal purposes. The message calls believers to trust in God's supremacy over political systems, historical events, and personal trials, affirming that Christ will ultimately be acknowledged by every being as the supreme Lord. In the coming kingdom, wisdom will reign without restraint, transforming all authority into righteous governance, while the present age calls for faithfulness amid suffering. The overarching tone is one of profound comfort and conviction, urging listeners to rest in God's unshakable power and sovereign control.

Part 3 of this sermon centers on the biblical imperative that the fear of the Lord is the foundation and essence of true wisdom, defined not merely as reverence but as a deliberate hatred of evil, pride, arrogance, wickedness, and corrupt speech. Drawing from Proverbs 8:13 and numerous scriptural references, it emphasizes that genuine wisdom is inseparable from moral discernment and a deep aversion to sin, contrasting this with the world's tendency to minimize evil and promote self-exaltation. The message underscores that all true knowledge and understanding originate from God, with Christ as the ultimate expression of divine wisdom, particularly in the redemptive plan of the cross, which stands as both a stumbling block and the power of God. Pastor Friesen calls believers to humility, constant dependence on Scripture, and vigilance against worldly influences, warning that pride leads to spiritual blindness and that only those who remain low before God can grow in wisdom and faithfulness. Ultimately, the sermon challenges the congregation to examine their hearts, reject compromise with evil, and pursue a life of godly discernment rooted in Scripture and dependence on Christ.

The sermon presents Proverbs 8 as a profound revelation of Christ as divine wisdom, emphasizing that His words are inherently excellent, truthful, and righteous, reflecting the uncorrupted nature of Scripture. It argues that true understanding of God's wisdom is not accessible to the natural, unregenerate mind but is granted through spiritual rebirth and the indwelling Holy Spirit, making the Bible's truth plain and accessible to those who seek it with humility. The message underscores that wisdom surpasses all earthly riches, calling believers to prioritize eternal values over temporal gain, and illustrates prudence as the practical outworking of divine wisdom in decision-making, exemplified by biblical figures who chose godly integrity over worldly advantage. Ultimately, the sermon calls the audience to embrace Christ as the source of all wisdom, to pursue understanding through prayer and Scripture, and to live with the discernment that leads to eternal life.

David Nurse, high-performance coach to NBA All-Stars and Olympic gold medalists, discovered that elite performers don't hope for flow—they engineer it. The secret isn't motivation or talent. It's neuroscience. This isn't vague "find your flow" advice. This is the brain mapping research revealing that flow state occurs at a precise frequency—10 Hz in the Alpha zone—and the specific protocols to train your nervous system to access it on demand. David breaks down why legendary athletes like Kobe Bryant could enter "the zone" during championships, the paradoxical tension required for effortless focus, and the deep practice methodology that builds neural pathways for consistent peak performance. Discover: • The 10 Hz revelation—why flow happens at a measurable brainwave frequency (and how to train your brain to reach it) • Why the 10,000-hour rule is incomplete—the "deep practice" feedback loop that builds myelin and creates mastery • The "bumper bowling" principle—how removing fear of failure unlocks creative genius • Alex Honnold's "Free Solo" mindset—why elite performers visualize disasters, not just success • The TAP trigger for daily flow—Trust, Acceptance, and Presence as the gateway to effortless performance • The Flow Code formula—combining visualization, body scanning, and bilateral tapping to down-regulate your nervous system • Flow beyond athletics—how to access the zone for creative work, presentations, and high-stakes moments Here's what separates amateurs from world-class: amateurs wait for inspiration. Masters train their nervous systems to produce flow on command. Wisdom personified in Proverbs 8 reveals Christ as the eternal, personal embodiment of divine truth, calling urgently to all humanity through creation, conscience, Scripture, and the gospel. The sermon emphasizes that true wisdom is not abstract but relational—God actively seeks sinners, speaking through the natural world, the moral law within, and the completed Word, convicting hearts and offering enlightenment to the spiritually blind. Every person, regardless of status or intellect, is invited to respond to this call, for all are naturally foolish and in need of divine transformation. The message underscores that salvation comes not through human wisdom or self-effort, but through repentance, faith in Christ, and a personal surrender to the wisdom that leads to eternal life. Ultimately, the preacher calls listeners to recognize their need, embrace the invitation, and walk in the light of God's revealed truth, knowing that those who seek will find and those who knock will be answered.

Episode 297 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we're continuing our block of episodes on the greatest players in the history of the Negro Leagues.Someone who could be considered the “Black Ty Cobb,” Cool Papa Bell was a generational ballplayer.Born in Mississippi, Bell was originally a successful knuckleball pitcher after he moved to St. Louis, Missouri in the 1920s. He began his career in the Negro Leagues as a pitcher, for the St. Louis Stars. However, his ridiculous base stealing speed, ability to hit, ability to learn how to switch-hit and fielding talent in the outfield led to a position change with monumental success. His career with the Pittsburgh Crawfords and Homestead Grays was incredible, and he was one of the league's brightest stars. He hit .337 for his career in the Negro Leagues, won two World Series and won eight batting titles. Moreover, his career overseas in Mexico saw him win a Triple Crown.Though he sadly never was able to play in Major League Baseball, his dominance and big play ability as a baserunner made him a legend. Then in 1974 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. When looking at what happened over the decades in regard to Jeffrey Epstein, it's very apparent that many, many people looked the other way while he was abusing and harming women and girls. Unfortunately, some of these people were those who we entrusted with upholding the law. Yet, instead of protecting the most vulnerable in society and society as a whole from Jeffrey Epstein, they protected Jeffrey Epstein from the consequences.(commercial at 8:29)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:https://coastalnetwork.com/jeffrey-epstein-and-corruption-in-the-fbi-and-us-court-system/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

In this essential episode of "Courage to Advance," host Kim Bohr and global inclusion strategist Mason Donovan tackle a critical challenge facing today's leaders: maintaining organizational cohesion in an increasingly polarized world. Their timely conversation cuts through the noise to deliver practical wisdom on fostering productive workplaces where differences drive innovation rather than division.Through real-world examples, Mason and Kim explore how thoughtful leadership can transform potential friction points into opportunities for organizational growth. Drawing from personal experience and extensive client work, they examine why some corporate inclusion initiatives soar while others stumble, offering senior leaders a strategic framework for making decisions that align with mission and market realities. To access the episode transcript, please search for the episode title at www.TheEmpathyEdge.comKey Takeaways:Inclusion is for the entire organization, no matter if you are in the majority or the minority group. It is more than just policy, it is operating with a lens of inclusion in every aspect of the organization.Everybody has to own inclusion. While leaders may have a greater impact, they cannot be the only ones carrying the inclusion bucket.Politics in the US have put almost everything, every cultural decision, in either the red or the blue. Think about those connections, think about what may be said to others by those decisions, then make a decision. Hard, uncomfortable conversations will come up. Get ahead of them before they begin with policies and training.
