Learning so much from outward signs that the ascetics who lived in the vicinity of Sri Rama were anxious to shift to some other forest, the latter asks them why they wished to leave the place. Being told in replyvthat they were being molested by Rakshasas under the leadership of Khara, he gives his consent and, sending them away with great respect, retires to his own hermitage. After Shri Ram and Lakshman regained consciousness, Sugriva ordered the Vanar Sena to set fire to the city of Lanka. Vanar Sena entered the city with torches in hand and started burning the city causing panic among the Rakshasas. An Angry Ravana sent an army under the leadership of Kumbhakarna's sons Kumbh and Nikumbha to fight Sugriva's army. As soon as the war started, Mahabali Angad killed the asura named Kampan with a rock. Seeing this, Kumbh started to rain arrows on the Vanar Sena. Dwivida too got injured by the arrows of Kumbh. Seeing his brother hurt, Mainda attacked Kumbh, but he too fainted after being wounded by Kumbh's arrows. Seeing his maternal uncles being defeated in this mannerway, Mahabali Angad challenged Kumbh. A fierce battle ensued between Angad and Kumbh and finally Angad fainted after being hit by Kumbh's arrows. When Shri Ram got the news of Angad beingbecoming unconscious, he sent another army under the leadership of Mahabali Jambavan to face Kumbh. Jambavan, Sushen and Vegadarshi attacked Kumbh with rocks and trees but Kumbh thwarted their attacks with his arrows. Then, Vanar Raj Sugriva threw many trees towards Kumbh, which too were destroyed. This made Sugriva angry and he broke Kumbh's bow. When the bow broke, Kumbh rushed towards Sugriva and struck Sugriva's chest several times with his fist. Sugriva also struck the chest of Kumbh several times with his fist. Kumbh fell to the ground with a loud thud and lost his life. Seeing his brother being killed, Nikumbha was filled with rage. He took a huge wooden hammer and rushed towards the Vanar Sena. On seeing Pawanputra Hanuman in front of him, he attacked his chest with his hammer but the hammer shattered to pieces after colliding with Bajrangbali's chest. A wrestling match broke out between the two great warriors. Ultimately Bajrangbali broke Nikumbha's neck and sent him to Yamlok. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Government of India declared in the Court that the Rama Sethu was destroyed by Rama himself. Raghuvamsham also refers to the Setu. So does the Skanda Purana (III 1.2.1-114), the Vishnu Purana (IV 4.40-49), the Agni Purana (V-XI), the Brahma Purana (138.1-40). And hearing these words of Rama, the genius of Varuna's abode (Samudra), joining his hands, answered in great affliction, ‘I do not desire to put any obstacle in thy way. I am no foe of thine! Listen, O Rama, to these words, and having listened, do what is proper! If, at thy command, I get a way for the passage of thy army, others then, from strength of their bows, will command me to do the same! In thy army there is aVanara of the name of Nala, who is a skilful mechanic. And endued with great strength, Nala is the son of Tashtri (Viswakarma), the divine artificer of the Universe. And whether it is wood, or grass or stone, that he will throw into my waters, I will support the same on my surface, and thus wilt thou have a bridge (over which to pass)!' And having said these words, the genius of the Ocean disappeared. And Rama awaking, called Nala unto him and said, ‘Build thou a bridge over the sea! Thou alone, I am sure, art able to do it!‘ And it was by this means that the descendant of Kakutstha's race caused a bridge to be built that was ten Yojanas in width and a hundred Yojanas in length. And to this day that bridge is celebrated over all the world by the name of Nala's bridge. And having completed that bridge, Nala, of body huge as a hill, came away at the command of Rama. And while Rama was on this side of the ocean, the virtuous Vibhishana, the brother of the king of the Rakshasas accompanied by four of his counsellors, came unto Rama. And the high-souled Rama received him with due welcome. Sugriva, however, feared, thinking he might be a spy. The son of Raghu, meanwhile perfectly satisfied (with Vibhishana) in consequence of the sincerity of his exertions and the many indications of his good conduct, worshipped him with respect. And he also installed Vibhishana in the sovereignty of all the Rakshasas and made him his own junior counsellor, and a friend of Lakshmana's. And it was under Vibhishana's guidance, O king, that Rama with all his troops crossed the great ocean by means of that bridge in course of a month .-Translation by Kisari Mohan Ganguly. (Within the Mahabharata, Markandeya tells the story of the Ramayana to encourage Draupadi after Jayadratha's attempted kidnapping of her. Within that is a reference to the Rama Sethu which was called as Nala Sethu after the engineer in the time of Veda Vyasa. There are a few places in India which are reported to be quiet ancient, some of them to Billion years! And these have been dated scientifically. For example Thiruvannamalai 3.94 billion years, Thirupati 2100 million years. Please read my posts on these places and more places similar to them. And now there is an addition to this list. The Temple for Vishnu at Srirangam ,is reported to be built by Rama, though many state that it was built earlier. This period belongs to Treta Yuga, some 4,32,000 ago according to Indian Texts. Historical dating of Lord Rama is around 5114 BC. We may safely state that Srirangam belongs to 5114 BC, if not earlier. References are found in Indian Texts that there is another temple which was built earlier by Lord Rama's ancestor, King Sibi. The same Sibi is mentioned as the one who parted with his Flesh to feed a Dove. This has been mentioned in Tamil Sangam Literature, which is dated around 3000 BC. But the date of Sangam literature is pushed back by at least by 20,000 subsequent finding of the ruins of Poompuhar,Tamil Nadu. Poompuhar's period was much later than Sangam period! The Tamil Cholas are referred to as the descendants of Ikshvaku Clan,to which Lord Rama belonged. So the refernce to a temple earlier to that of Srirangam gains credibility. The Temple of Pundarikaksha(Vishnu) is mentioned in Sangam Classics and also referred to in King Rajaraja's inscriptions. Thiruvellarai is about 19 km from Srirangam and bus facilities are available. Nearest Airport. Thiruchirapalli. Railway Station. Thiruchirapalli/Srirangam. It is recorded in Srimad Bhagavadham that Rakshsas of the South,Rakshasa being a powerful race mostly settled in now sunk Lemuria, were inciting rebellion in the south of King Sibi's Kingdom. Sibi proceeded with his army to annihilate the Rakshasas but was thwarted by a wild Boar(Swetha Varaha, an Avatar of Lord Vishnu). Sage Markandeya who was in meditation there advised Sibi that Sibi's descendent (Rama)would take care of the Rakshasas and Sibi should build temple for Vishnu and have His darshan. This Sibi did and this is the Thiruvellarai temple. Temple timings. 6 to 12 noon. 4 pm to 8 pm. Contact. Then clarifying Arjuna's doubts on faith, Krishna continued. “Faith is intrinsic to human beings, which are Sattvic, Rajasic, and Tamasic in nature. People are what their faith is. Accordingly, those in goodness mode worship celestial Gods, the passionate, Yakshas and Rakshasas, and the ignorant worship spirits. Further, people should perform austerities only as ordained by scriptures and not for desire or egotism. Simply tormenting the body and Me, the dweller therein, through attachment-driven austerities exhibit only demonic nature. And same is the case with food, sacrifice, and charity. The virtuous consume juicy, nourishing, and naturally tasty foods that enhance life span, virtue, and heath. However, the passionate like hot, spicy, or sour food that gives only disease and pain, whereas the ignorant consume impure or stale items. Likewise, sacrifices done with conviction and no-expectation are of goodness; those done for material benefits are of passion-mode, while those performed contrary to scriptural principles with no Mantras or offerings are of ignorant mode. Similarly, when people worship the Lord and the revered with cleanliness, celibacy, and non-violence, that becomes the austerity of the body; when words spoken are truthful and kind, it is the austerity of speech; and thoughts, serene and pure, become the austerity of the mind. When practiced by the devout with faith and no expectations of rewards, these become the austerities of goodness. But the one performed for ostentation and public consumption is the austerity of passion that is transitory, whereas the austerity involving harming the self and others is ignorant. Similarly, charity to the worthy at the right time and place, without any consideration, is goodness. However, a reluctantly done charity with expectation is of passion mode, while that made to the unworthy is the charity of ignorance. Further, the term ‘Om Tat Sat' represents the Absolute Truth. Hence people begin all sacred activities like sacrifice by uttering ‘Om,' while the non-seekers of material rewards utter ‘Tat.' And ‘Sat' means goodness and eternity that describes all auspicious and noble activities like charity. But such acts performed without faith become ‘Asat,' worthless for this world and the other.” If you would like to find out more about your chart or have a question about astrology you would love the answer to, please do connect with us at www.astroved.com Follow AstroVed on IG, Twitter, and FB @AstroVed

At first light, Arya and the vanaras begin their descent to the dark side. They reach the place where Arya has to plavang — jump, leap and fly, to get to the Ramayana. He is terrified but with the Rakshasas closing in he doesn't have a choice. He digs deep into his being, seeking energy from Brahman Shakti, and before his own eyes, he is transformed into a powerful warrior. He leaps and soars from island to island, getting closer to the funeral pyre where the Ramayana is poised to burn. The vanaras follow, fighting the Rakshasas as they go. As soon as Arya lands near the book, the pyre beneath him erupts in flames, set by none other than Ravana. Arya had fallen perfectly into Ravana's trap. He intended to burn Arya along with the book. Arya commands the other vanaras to retreat, but one lone vanar stays behind to fight. Through the flames, Arya realizes the rogue vanar is none other than Hanumana, the great warrior! I read an interesting article while researching for proof on the Vedic India encompassed the entire world. I have posted quite a few articles on the Ancient Kingdoms of India with Time line, names,The Dynasties List and the existing archeological proof for the statement that Bharatvarsha extended throughout the world. Kanchi Periyavar mentions this fact in the Book Deivathin Kural in Tamil( Free download of the Book is available in this site),with astonishing evidence from the Vedic Texts. The Mayan civilization as well as the Egyptian Civilizations often intrigued me. Their method of worship of the Sun, the reverence for the Dead and some cultural practices are very close to Hinduism. Now on to this information in the article. The Vedas tell a number of valid facts about ancient America . They call Mexico and Central America Patala. In Sanskrit, Patala means ‘one of the seven regions under the earth and the abode of serpents' According to the myths, an eagle named Garuda transported thousands of ancient mariners, called snakes (Nagas, there in its beak. Although I feel they came here in ocean-going ships, the implication is clear that they could have flown here as well. The legends of the O'odhams of Arizona describe such a sky-born ship. They call it Nah-Big, a term definitely derived from the Sanskrit Nag-Bhaga or Snake God. One cannot help but become impressed when he reads the O'odham stories of the Nah-Big. It is clear that it was some kind of flying ship. The O'odhams even speak of it as being propelled by an energy generator having positive (male) and (female) female poles… In the Mayan-derived dialects along Mexico's northern east coast down to and including the Central America republics, Patal means ‘abandoned or deserted land; without people.' Naga-like derivatives also exist in Mexico . In Sanskrit, Nag-asta means Western Naga Land . The Mayan lowlands down to and including Costa Rica are called Nacaste. According to Hindu legends, a naga could turn into a human being. In Mexico, a nagual was a were-animal. Nagual derived from the Sanskrit Nag-Baal, meaning Snake Demon… The Hindu Naga Mayas also belonged to a powerful Dravidian group of Nagas called Asuras. Whether or not the Asuras were demi-gods or demons depended on one's point of view. The leader of these Naga Asuras was the Hindu (really a Bulgarian) god of precious metals, wealth, traders and even agriculturists (really a group) named Kubera or Khyber (Kheever). For Christians and Jews he was Heber. This Kubera, Khyber, or Heber was leader of a horde called Yakshas or Yakhas (Biblical Joktan?). They were reputed to be both superior mentally and materially. Their servants were called Guhyakhas (Yakha shit). Today, in Judaism, which evolved from the Kubera teachings, the term has changed to Goy, but the meaning has never changed. The Kubera hordes, composed of Yakshas or Yakhas and their Guyakha underclass captured most of India's undesirables, the unredeemably savage and cannibilistic Rakshasas, exiling them to Ceylon or Lanka. Later, they exiled them to Patala, supposedly in air ships. The Mayas had their own nation in Lanka, also named Maya, with a sub-group called Laks (Mexico's Lacandones). It is a strange anomaly that Rama, Lenka (Lanka), and Lacandon Mayan peoples exist in Meso-America, including the inhabitants of Yucatan (Yakhustan; Joktan?)… In India, many Hindus love to mention them as a superior race of people who came to them from Uttara Kuru ( Siberia and the North Pole). Yet, the Kurus (Ari) and Ramas were just the Indian people themselves who once inhabited the whole of the Eastern Hemisphere — Kurus the north, and Ramas, the Indian sub continent itself. In the mythologies of all the world, the Kurus (Turks) and the Hindus (Ramas) are the Holy Twins. Although both groups were partners (twins) in international trading, the Kurus (Turks) provided the shipping and the Ramas their services as warrior traders.morevat Ramanisblog --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message

Although they have the power to change their shape at will and appear as animals, monsters, or beautiful women, sculptures and literatures generally depict the Rakshasas with a terrifying appearance – fearful side tusks, ugly eyes, curling brows and carrying a variety of horrible weapon. But, as with everything else in life, not all Rakshasas are ugly. This episode is also available as a blog post: http://martinifisher.com/2021/10/07/rakshasas-the-beautiful-the-virtuous-the-sleepy/

A high-ranking samurai was also a serious Zen student. Fighting broke out all over Japan and he was wounded in battle; in spite of the pain he galloped to a temple to see the teacher there. A tea ceremony was going on, and the teacher put a cup in front of him, asking, “How are things?” The warrior immediately crushed the cup under his foot and said, “Heaven and earth completely broken up.” The teacher asked, “When heaven and earth are broken up, what's that like?” The warrior stood with his hands crossed over his chest. The teacher hit him, and he involuntarily cried out from the pain of his wounds. The teacher said, “Heaven and earth not quite broken up yet.”Support the show (https://www.paypal.me/apalmr)

“Neither the demigods nor any exalted personalities were there helping Rama, for He acted alone. You should not entertain any doubt on this matter. Indeed, Rama shot feathered arrows, plated with gold, which turned into five-headed serpents that devoured all the Rakshasas. The Rakshasas were oppressed with fear, and wherever they went and wherever they turned, they saw Rama in front of them. In this way, O spotless one, have your Rakshasas been destroyed in the forest of Janasthana by Rama.” (Akampana speaking to Ravana, Valmiki Ramayana, Aranya Kand, 31.18-19)
“Then I, resembling a cloud and having molten-golden earrings, made my way into Vishvamitra’s ashrama, for I was very proud of my strength due to the boon given to me by Lord Brahma. As soon as I entered, Rama quickly noticed me and raised His weapon. Though He saw me, Rama strung His bow without any fear.” (Maricha speaking to Ravana, Valmiki Ramayana, Aranya Kand, 38.16-17)

Indian texts have two calendars, one based on the movement of Sun,Surya Manasa,Solar Calendar and Chandra Manasa, based on the movement of the Moon. The movement of the Moon is calculated by Thithis;they are fifteen. Solar year is calculated on the basis of the movement of the Sun and the Stars are taken as the basis. For auspicious occasions, the Nakshatra is given more importance while inauspicious occasions like Sraddha, the annual death ceremony, only the Thithis are taken into account. These two are correlated. One must rember the following before proceeding further. 1.The landmass in those ancient times were different from what we find today. Please read my articles on Rodina, Pangea Super continents of ancient times. 2.Santana dharma was present throughout the world. 3. The Vedas were not compiled in one shot. The Truth ,as revealed to the Rishis were compiled as and when they were revealed. For details please read ‘when were the Vedas compiled' So what is found in the Rig Veda is the oldest records. What is mentioned in the Rig Veda about movement of Stars and Planets refer to the period and indicate the area wherethe people lived. While the later Vedic texts mention Dakshinayna and Uttarayana, they refer to what they observed, that is the movement of the Sun to South or to North. This is what we practice today. But what the people of the Rig Vedic Time observed was the day extending for six months, night for six months, was called as Devayana( Day) and Pitruyana(Night). For more on this read my article On Aryaman. 4.It is also probable that two or three groups lived, one each at the Polar regions and another in the other areas. This would account for the classification of Dravidas,Milechas and people being called Rakshasas who hailed from the south. 5.Thus the descriptions of celestial movements in the Rig Veda indicate that people of those times lived in the Arctic Region. ‘The Taittirîya Samhitâ and the Brâhmanas distinctly mention a lunar month of thirty days and a year of twelve such months, to which an intercalary month was now and then added, to make the lunar and the solar year correspond with each other. The ecliptic, or the belt of the zodiac, was divided into 27 of 28 divisions, called the Nakshatras, which, were used as mile-stones to mark the annual passage of the sun, or the monthly revolution of the moon round the earth. The two solstitial and the two equinoctial points, as well as the passage of the sun into the northern and the southern hemisphere, were clearly distinguished, and the year was divided into six seasons, the festivals in each month or the year being accurately fixed and ascertained. The stars rising and setting with the sun were also systematically observed and the eastern and western points of the compass determined as accurately as the astronomical observations of the day could permit. In my Orion or the Antiquity of the Vedas, I have shown how the changes in the position of the equinoxes were also marked in these days, and how they enable us to classify the periods of Vedic antiquity. According to this classification the Taittirîya Samhitâ comes under the Kṛittikâ period (2500 B.C.), and some may, therefore, think that the details of the Vedic calendar given above are peculiar only to the later Vedic literature. A cursory study of the يig-Veda will, however, show that such is not the case. A year of 360 days, with an intercalary month occasionally added, or a year of twelve lunar months, with twelve intercalary days inserted at the end of each year was familiar to the poets of the يig-Veda and is often mentioned in the hymns.* More @ https://ramanisblog.in/2017/02/02/veda-compiled-in-arctic-devayana-pitruyana-evidence-rig-veda/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message

Valmiki provides a lot of Geographical information in the Ramayana. Most of them are found when he describes the Aranya vasa of Lord Rama., his search for Sita, his travel to Lanka, Rama's return from Lanka by Pushpaka Vimana and Sugriva's directions to his army about the possible places where Ravana could have taken Sita. Of interest is the description by Sugriva about the Nazca Lies of Peru ad Russia, though one can find references to other countries as well. I have written articles on California being the Kapila Aranya, Mount.Ashes ,USA is the place where Sagara's(Rama's ancestor) sons were turned into ashes. I have referred to the Quadrilateral Temple of Shiva in Colorado and a Natural Vishnu Temple in Grand Canyon,US. I remembered about the Moola Sainya ( Reserve Army of Ravana, which he called up during his battle with Rama. A grieved Ravana soon collected himself and sent word for his reserve forces all over the globe (moola bala sainya). That was a frightful army that Ravana did not think of using against these ‘puny creatures' at all. He considered it below his dignity to use such a powerful force against humans and monkeys. It was like killing a fly with a sledgehammer, for him. In fact, Kumbakarna had advised him otherwise. If you have decided to fight against them, then the better strategy would be to collect all our forces together. ‘pandhiyir pandhiyir padagaLai vittu avai sindhudal kaNdu nee irundhu thEmbudal mandhiram andru.' It is not right to send our army in small lots convenient enough for them to wipe off and to weep over their death. ‘nam vali elaam udan undhudal kadan.' It is of utmost importance to collect all our forces here and now and go to the field in such vast numbers so that it becomes difficult for them to encounter such a vast army'.(Kamba Ramayaa ,Tamil-http://www.heritagewiki.org/index.php?title=Vibhishana_-_Part_4Valmiki also talks about the Moola Sainya in the Yuddha Kada And the location of Kara and Dushana who were killed by Rama. And there is this point of Hanuman flying to Lanka, The Adams Bridge, Rama Sethu is about 30 Kms from Rameswaram, India But Valmiki says it is about 800 Miles! And there is evidence that Hanuman traveled at a speed of 660Kms/hour! I shall be writing on this shortly. I recalled about Lemuria and Atlantis. Lemuria is the Lost continent of the Tamils. And the US is the Patala Loka. Please read my posts on this and Atlantis. Plato's description of Atlantis reminds me of the descriptions of the Patala Loka, inhabited by the Rakshasas. The presence of Hanuman ad his son Makaratwaja in Central America and the reference to Tamil Kings of the south of Vindhyas made me wonder whether there is any connection between Atlantis. Ramayana and Lemuria. Considering the distance covered by Hanuman in his flight to Lanka, The Lanka of Ravana could not have been where it is today,( Please red my Post) Lemuria and Atlantis being different entities and that The Tamils occupied that land, Atlantis had the Sanatana Dharma presence, including the Rotating city of Tripura, which was destroyed by Shiva, Shiva migrated towards the west of India, when a great flood struck South India(when Rama's ancestor Sathyavrata Manu migrated to Ayodhya), The presence of Shiva in these countries, including the Nazca Lines of Peru and Mecca, Petro Jordan having Shiva Temples, Rama's name is found, along with Dasaratha and Bharatha in the Sumerian Kings List, Shiva worship preceded the Sanatana dharma in the south, The Rakshasas having bee present in this land, where the Moola Sainya of Ravana was kept, Ravana having been a Shiva worshiper, Hanuman and Makaratdwaja is found in Honduras, The land mass at these times was different than what we find today, Thiruvannamalai in South India being 3 Billion years old, There is a room in Romania which is connected to Iraq,Kailsh, https://ramanisblog-in.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/ramanisblog.in/2015/10/20/ravana-reserve-army-atlantis-ram --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message
It is believed that God took different avatars to end the chaos created by the Rakshasas (devils), torturing of innocent, to establish righteousness and to protect the dignity of the Vedas. But killing Ravan was not the only reason for Seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Ram. This episode of Holy Tales by Himanshu Sharma will tell you few more reasons other than Ravan's cruelty that made Lord Vishnu take Shri Ram Avtar. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fantasy is a genre built out of many, many, components that come from all over. In India we’re seeing a resurgence of a fantasy tradition that rebuilds mythology and borrows liberally from western traditions. Today we talk about one of these books that creates a rich story out of all these elements. Then we discuss a project that overlays sci-fi with an Indian epic, with startling results. This is episode #12 of Bookasur, talking about Arthurian legend and Gorkha training camps and The Matrix, not to mention Sholay, A. K. Ramanujan, and the surprisingly human core of Indian sci-fi. Books featured: Kali Yuga: The Ascension, by Jatin Gupta, published by Rupa. Breaking the Bow, ed. by Anil Menon and Vandana Singh, published by Zubaan. -------- Published 1st July 2020. In today’s episode, we look at Rakshasas, man-eating goblins from India. Rakshasas have long, curling fangs that protrude from the corners of their lips, wickedly long claws, and- sometimes- sharp horns. The strongest and most powerful might even have glowing eyes, extra limbs, and a few additional heads. But the danger doesn’t stop there. Rakshasas are powerful magicians, and are able to fly, disappear, or alter their appearance at will. And they will happily utilize these deceptions in their cannibalistic quest for human blood. This week’s story is “The Goblin City” by W. H. D. Episode 34 - The Pandavas resume center stage as the main characters of this episode. They continue their trek through the mountains until the going gets too rough for Draupadi. Bhima summons his half-Rakshasa son, Gatotkacha, who can fly, and they are carried the rest of their journey to the Ashram of Nar-Narayan. While hanging out at this heavenly retreat, Draupadi sends Bhima off to find her some special lotus blossoms. Along the way, Bhima meets up with Hanuman, who it turns out is his brother (both are sons of the Wind God). The quest for the Lotus Blossom finally leads Bhima to Kubera's Pleasure Garden, which is guarded by hordes of Rakshasas. Bhima makes short work of them and takes a dip in Kubera's pond.Yuddistira gets suspicious and has Gatotkacha take them to Bhima. Kubera takes the destruction of his gardens and the death of his guards pretty lightly, and he allows the Pandavas to stay in his garden as long as they like. We leave them there until next Episode, when Arjun finally makes his return.
Episode 74 - Two significant deaths this episode-- first Gatotkacha basically gets sacrificed by Krishna so that Arjun need not face Karna's special unstoppable Indra Dart. It's a mean trick, but Krishna explained that one of the purposes of this war is to eradicate the race of Rakshasas, so if they didn't have Karna kill him, then they would have had to do it themselves. Besides, it was a small price to pay in order to save Arjun for the final showdown. The second big shot to go down is their old guru Drona. I must confess that I never really took a shine to this fighting brahmin. He always seemed over-proud and a bit prickly. Also, I never liked the way he manipulated the Pandava kids into fighting his own grudge match with King Drupad. After he took half of Drupad's kingdom, he said that they could be friends again. Some friend-- he then kills Drupad earlier in the day without a second thought. And what the hell is a brahmin doing fighting anyway? They are supposed to merit their honor of being the priestly caste by dedicating their lives to ritual and spirituality. But here's this guy who demands the highest honor for being from the priestly caste, and yet he fights dirty-- in ways that a kshatriya would be ashamed to fight, such as using magic weapons against footsoldiers. His ounce of loyalty goes to the guys who feed him & pay him, and all the rest of his love is for his own skin, and that of his dear son, Ashvatthaman. More on that punk later.Man, I really don't like Drona!Anyway, next time we'll find out what Ashwatthaman does when he hears the news.

Text: "He further makes the following reflection, All living beings are swallowed up in the great torrent's waves. They enter the flow of desire, the flow of existence, the flow of ignorance, and the flow of views. They revolve in the whirlpool of birth and death. They toss and turn in the river of love. They are carried away by the flood, and have no leisure to contemplate. They follow after desire, hatred, harming, and do not give them up. In the midst of that they are seized by the Rakshasas of the view of a body. They are about to enter forever the forest of attachment towards what they love. They dwell in the fertile plain of pride. They settle in the town of the six places. They have no wholesome savior. They have no one to rescue them. I should have thought of great compassion towards them, and use all my good roots to rescue and save them, so they have no calamities or disasters, so they leave defilement, find peace, and dwell on the jeweled island of omniscience."
