Season 3 is HERE BABY and we are fully PLUCKED. Mostly because we were expecting this to be as much of a hot mess as S1 & S2 but low and behold, what's this? GROWTH IN THE WRITERS ROOM? This is the EPISODE that never ends…oh it goes on and on my friend….No, really, an actual episode of “Lambchop's Play-Along” would have had a better editing team behind its production. Although the plot lines in this episode are all pretty strong on their own, the team of geniuses over at AJLT decides to cram them all into a single one hour episode; which in turn ends up feeling like we are sitting through “The Godfather” trilogy. Carrie has trouble getting through chapter 3 of her audiobook recording, Charlotte and LTW really dance around the line of what is an appropriate storyline about sexy teens, Seema has her burkin stolen (which could be a nod to Samantha but we think the writers legit didn't connect those dots) and Miranda completely shuts down the entire production of Che's pilot, and for once, we are team Che. We have arrived at the end of this iconic first season of AJLT. Completely bonkers, disjointed, and written with little recollection of the source material, but iconic nonetheless. We barely touch base with about four of our new main characters, yet Bobby freaking Lee gets a full story arc. We don't even SEE Seema! It's coming up on the one year anniversary of Big's death, and Carrie is wondering what to do with his ashes while taking signs from a lamp that won't stop flickering. Classic Big…Carrie's happy, time to swoop in and shit all over it! Charlotte and Harry really hit a new low at allowing their child to just walk all over them when Rock decides they don't want to identify as ANYTHING, even her own ethnicity. And the AJLT team somehow manages to find the one song ever that can make Sara Ramirez's voice sound only “really good”. Miranda is on her way to L.A. with Che, and we have a feeling this will not be quite as fabulous as the L.A. episodes in the OG series. Either way, AJLT Season One, you may leave the stage….for now!
