this week on Delusional Diaries, Halley and Jaz are fully entering their summer era, and with that comes a lot of opinions. from Solidcore drama and influencer gym etiquette to the devastating loss of Cava's tahini caesar dressing, the girls navigate through the internet discourse that becomes way too personal, a bit too quickly. between marathon training updates from Reed and Kevin, sauna purchases, Hamptons nesting, and debates about post-run meals, the episode is basically one long chaotic life update in the best way possible.they also get into the realities of adulthood that nobody really warns you about, including the diplomacy of bachelorette trips, whether it's socially acceptable to book your own hotel room, and why even valid boundaries somehow still create drama in friend groups. the girls unpack viral conversations around dog ownership after a creator admitted she regretted getting a high-energy breed without researching it first, leading into a bigger conversation about responsibility, lifestyle compatibility, and how much your entire life changes once you become a dog parent. plus: expensive grooming disasters, terrifying Goop Kitchen food poisoning TikToks, and Halley's ongoing love-hate relationship with Tracy Anderson workouts, including a class that turned into an unexpected split-flexibility challenge.of course, they end the episode exactly where they thrive most: pop culture rabbit holes and deeply unserious debates. from Red Flats Girl becoming the internet's newest icon to conversations about Twilight, Gossip Girl, SATC, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and why some fictional love triangles should've ended in therapy instead of romance, the girls rank all the internet's most controversial couples. they also talk beauty routines, favorite summer music, awkward salon small talk, and SO MUCH MORE! it's all random, hilarious, and feels exactly like spending an hour gossiping with your funniest friends.Timestamps 0:16 - Feeling like summer 6:53 - Jaz's new hobby 16:49 - Bachelorette protocol 27:01 - Tracy Anderson 37:19- Red Flats Queen45:14 - Who's side are you on More of Delusional Diaries Podcast:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/delusionaldiariespodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@delusionaldiariespodcastYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@DelusionaldiariespodcastSubstack: https://delusionaldiariespodcast.substack.com/Website: https://delusionaldiaries.com/More of Halley:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/halleykmcg/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@halleykateMore of Jaz:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justjazzzyidk/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@justjazzzyidkYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/justjazzzyidkLinks Ogee Beauty - Go to ogee.com/DIARIES and use code DIARIES to get 20% off certified organic makeup that performs like luxury.Ollie - Ollie. Ooh! It was definitely the age un-innocence in the 90s in NYC. And with that opening note, we hereby call to order the Sweet Tea & TV Book Club. This time, we're reading Sex and the City – Candace Bushnell's collection of essays that has inspired three TV series, two feature films, and nearly 30 years of fandom. We're discussing its themes, how it compares to the TV series, and of course, the woman who inspired the character of Carrie in the first place: Candace Bushnell. And, ‘just like that', we'll be back next week with our first-ever watch along. That's right, we're watching the series finale of SATC: “An American Girl in Paris” Parts Une and Deux.
“I couldn't help but wonder” – how many good SATC episodes had we missed in our breakneck season? No need to wonder – the number is 57. There's no time for that, BUT – we will knock out one final handful of unmissable ones. And, then, because our time in the Big Apple is almost over, we'll talk about the series, make sure Nikki's pre-season questions were answered, revisit our series superlatives, and determine which SATC character we are. And, ‘just like that', we'll be back later this week to talk about the lady and book that started it all.
We continue our adventures with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha as they navigate their friendships, romantic relationships, a funeral and an 'I told you so'. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We're rounding out our time in NYC and our time with the SATC universe. Which means it would be totally irresponsible for us to miss the opportunity to talk a little bit about the actors behind the characters. But you know we can't do just a strict autobiographical look at each actor - that would be too easy (and too not-competitive!) Instead, we'll do three things: 1.) Nikki is going to tell Salina a little bit about an actor and we'll see if she can guess who it is. 2.) Then, she's going to give Salina insight into a person and Salina will tell us whether it was the character or the actor. And 3.) We'll expand the universe a bit. We've talked a lot about the main characters of the show, but, as we've touched on throughout the series, there's soooooo many more people behind the scenes. Let's imagine a few scenarios where we are missing these important pieces of the puzzle and predict the “Butterfly Effect” of them missing. If we lose them, what else do we lose from the show? Just stick with us; it'll make sense. Or, maybe it won't, but we'll at least chuckle along the way.
Women, women, women – it's allllll we ever talk about. Like, when will men get a shot?? Today. They get their shot today. Who are the men of Sex and the City? And who are the men behind those men? We'll break it down. Then we'll give them our “watch party” treatment, followed by their own round of superlatives because it's really time to figure out…who is the best at being the worst? And, ‘just like that', we'll be back later this week to talk about the actors and others behind-the-scenes that brought SATC to life.
Our journey through Sex and the City continues! We tackle insecurities of adulthood stemming from youth and relationship drama.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We've hinted. We've mentioned, but now we must discuss in greater detail – the fashion of SATC. What they wore was more than simply clothing – it showcased who they were as characters, as women in the world. It gave them authenticity as New Yorkers, and it evolved right alongside their lives. Join as we discuss the woman behind the clothes; the show's fashion legacy; and a breakdown of each character's signature style and best looks.
Nicky Trendz and Manny Oso from the podcast Bubble Bath Stories are here to chat about Manny's first official watch through of Sex and the City. Highlights of the conversation will be why Natalie isn't team any of those men, the dating tropes that each woman fell into during their story arc, the importance of having a group of strong women by your side, and why Carrie should have definitely accepted that check from Mr. Big.How to Support TATMITB:Want more TATMITB content? The fact of the matter is that TV sets are workplaces and workplaces get messy. But, the messiness factor is a bit magnified on the big screen. This “Extra Sugar” is all about the behind-the-scenes drama on SATC. But, to level set - we're not fueling the flames of gossipy rumors about drama that seem to follow women's shows. No, we're going to focus on a few sources that we consider to be reputable and honest and we're going to try to stick to the ladies' words themselves, or of those directly involved in the show; not the words others put into their mouths. Obviously, SATC isn't the only show in which power, pay and public perception have, at times, gotten complicated. If you zoom out a bit, you can see versions of these same dynamics play out throughout TV history. Sometimes it's about pay. Sometimes it's about personality. Sometimes, it's about public controversy. And sometimes - it's much ado about nothing. We'll talk about some other TV shows before we wrap up the segment.
If you're anything like us, sometimes you go through your day and you just have to wonder: what would Samantha Jones do? Whether she's the inspo for your inner professional baddie or your self-confident babe alter ego (or maybe both!), there's no denying she's a full-on icon. As we've done with the other SATC ladies throughout the season, we'll talk about the highs and lows of her character, including where she's at her most “Samantha” and, of course, the things that didn't age well this time around. We'll also check in around our quest to determine which SATC gal we are. OH! And we're throwing in a side quest this week! Sam's episodes introduced some extra-heavy topics, so we're going to share our thoughts on those, too. If you want to follow along, here are the episodes we watched for this episode: S1E10 – The Baby Shower S2E16 – Was It Good for You? S3E6 – Are We Sluts? S5E4 – Cover Girl S6E4 – Pick-a-Little, Talk-a-Little And, ‘just like that', we'll see you Thursday for an “Extra Sugar” where we're gonna chat behind-the-scenes dramz.
We're ready to celebrate all the ways SATC was wayyyyy ahead of its time. But, also, in the interest of telling the full story, we'll also talk about the things that have gotten a little dusty as time has marched on. Or, as Salina framed it - from the dusty bits to the shinier parts. And, ‘just like that', we'll see you next week for our look at one of New York's most glamorous PR gals, Ms. Samantha Jones.

Today's episode brings us to SATC's legal representation, Ms. Miranda Hobbes, Esq. Miranda is our to-the-point, cold-hearted (except when she's not), high-powered lawyer girlie. Miranda is power suits by day and, when they fit, sexy jeans by night. She's a mom who normalizes only liking your own kid. A professional who doesn't take any crap. And a friend that has her friends' backs (whether they like it or not.) We'll talk about the highs and lows of her character, including where she's at her most “Miranda” and, of course, the things that didn't age well this time around. We'll also check in around our quest to determine which SATC gal we are.
After much delay, we are back with our Sex and the City watch series! Picking up with the gang in Los Angeles, the plot is rife with cameos, some more problematic than others. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We could cue this one up with a bunch of puns and song lyrics, but hey, that's what the episode is for. In this week's Extra Sugar, we're talking about SATC's fifth main character: New York City (but like, really Manhattan, which the show largely favored of the city's five boroughs). The show lets us know – from the very first frame in the pilot that this is first and foremost – a NYC show. We love it. Honestly, after back-to-back traditional soundstage sitcoms, we're just glad to be outside! So let's see if two Southerners can do the ‘city that never sleeps' any ding-dang justice. Unclear but join us anyway, if you don't like it, you can judge it – and that's almost as good as liking something for real.
It's time to explore the “Rose” of SATC. Our “good-on-paper” girl. Our “sweet one.” Our “one-cardboard-baby-away-from-a-crashout” ball of sunshine. That's right - it's Charlotte's turn to get the ST&TV treatment. We'll talk about the highs and lows of her character, Charlotte's funniest moments, her “Charlotte-iest” moments, and all the things that didn't age well this time around.

If “Sex and the City” had given us nothing else, it's incontrovertible that it served the best fashion. Fortunately, it gave us so much more and we're exploring that in this week's “Extra Sugar.” SATC said: be fabulous, be broke, be late, be complicated—and somehow make it iconic. Was it realistic? Absolutely not. Was it influential? So ab-so-duck-ing-lute-ly influential we're still talking about it.
“It's like the riddle of the Sphinx. Why are there so many great-unmarried women, and no great-unmarried men?” We're back and ready to spend this season watching Ms. Carrie Bradshaw and her besties address this critical question. Along the way, we may even discover that “...nothing lasts forever; dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style.”
Tessa Belle returns to Girls Rewatch for a chaotic, thoughtful, and extremely necessary conversation about whether models should, in fact, be treated as people. We're diving into Sex and the City Season 1, Episode 2, “Models and Mortals,” the show's early takedown of the beauty industrial complex. Evan, Amelia, and Tessa unpack why SATC is somehow wildly woke and deeply problematic at the exact same time and why that tension is part of the magic that keeps us rewatching. Abby and Katie welcome special guest, and SATC expert, Viann to discuss this classic NYC series of fairy tale meets reality. Will we wax poetic, with Charlottesque wonder at what the IMDB voters selected as the best episode of the series? Or more likely come in swinging like Miranda, with some blunt rebuttals of our own? Either way, we'll be doing so with Carrie-like wit, and a side of Samantha's saucy takes.Did we get it right or wrong? Drop us an email at mustseeIMDB@gmail.com and tell us all about it.
This is a big, huge, revealing talk with Chris Noth. Chris is an actor. He played Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Peter Florrick on The Good Wife, and William Bishop on The Equalizer. He was nominated for Golden Globe awards for Sex and the City and for The Good Wife. He's best known as Mr. Big in the HBO series Sex and the City, the Sex and the City movies that came later, and (spoiler alert) one episode of the follow-up series And Just Like That. Mr. Big, of course, was the, well, let's just call him the somewhat unattainable love interest of the main character, Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker. In case you're not aware, there's been a lot of, I guess we can call it, drama, surrounding Sex & the City. There have been rumors of tension between SJP and Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha, and there's been a bunch of criticism surrounding some of the characters and plotlines in the original series and the reboot, And Just Like That. But the biggest drama is surrounding Chris Noth. In 2021, there were several sexual assault allegations against Chris published in THR and The Daily Beast. He was never criminally charged and said at the time that it wasn't true, but there was an immediate impact. He was written off The Equalizer, for starters. Soon after, Sarah Jessica Parker and her SATC castmates, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, put out a public statement about the situation. I read it to you so you know exactly what we're talking about when Chris and I get into this. OK, so. After that, his lawyers told him to not say anything. So he stopped talking publicly. Behind the scenes, a lot more was going on. And you're about to hear about all of it. it's another chaotic week on Delusional Diaries! the girls are packing for back-to-back trips, from Maddie's Cabo bachelorette to a very convenient brand trip that just so happens to be in Cabo. they talk bachelorettes, friend group dynamics, and why mixing people from different chapters of your life is always a wild experiment.from party floors destroyed by heels to the great “SATC shoe debate,” they reflect on their Halloween weekend, the aftermath of too much tequila, and how hangovers hit way harder now, sparking a full conversation about growing out of the “every weekend” phase and choosing soft life nights in over blacking out. they also come to their shared realization that maybe mocktails shouldn't cost the same as cocktails. the episode takes its usual chaotic turn with a cozy winter rant: daylight savings depression and the girls' love-hate relationship with the holidays. they get into pop culture deep dives, from Lily Allen and David Harbour drama to People's Sexiest Man Alive and the celebrity edits they can't stop watching. by the end, they're debating whether singers are ever sexy, laughing at actor crushes, and ending on the most unserious note possible: Halley watching football on a plane just to calm her anxiety. it's unfiltered, funny, and weirdly therapeutic: just two girls overthinking life, love, and pop culture with zero structure and maximum serotonin.Timestamps 0:19 - Not time to be sick 5:18 - Halloween 17:35 - Driving diaries 25:01 - Actors IRL 32:30 - Atlanta for the day 36:59 - Online stalker 38:29 - What do you want to be when you grow up 43:53 - People's Sexiest Man AliveLinksChime - chime.com/diariesQuince - quince.com/delusional for free shipping and 365 day returnsUncommon Goods - uncommongoods.com/diaries for 15% off Wayfair - wayfair.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Everyone likes to talk about themselves every once in a while, but what is it that compels some people to make it their entire career? To get a better understanding of this phenomenon, let's use some of our favorite oversharing writers from movies and TV like (Carrie Bradshaw, Lena Dunham/Hannah Horvath, and even Gossip Girl himself Dan Humphrey & more) to unpack: the reasons why people tend to overshare, how some turned it into an entire career (from books to blogs to TikTok and other social media), and all of those downsides that people often don't think about until it's too late… Learn more about your ad choices. From Hollywood's brightest star to hoops' biggest legend, today's show is packed. We kick things off with Timothée Chalamet's generational run and how he's defining an era of film, then pivot to LeBron's “Second Decision” and what it means for his legacy. We even take a surprising detour into Ronald Reagan, plus dive into The Smashing Machine—the new buzzy A24 project. On the pop culture and lifestyle front, we unpack Disney raising its theme park prices, react to the wild idea of a couple's first kiss happening at their wedding, and ask: who on earth is Snarp? And of course, it wouldn't be Productive Conversations without our signature segments:

Ahmed al-Sharaa used to be known as Abu Mohammed al-Julani — al Qaeda's man in Syria. Now he's known as the president of Syria. He's in New York City this week, headlining the UN General Assembly (UNGA), fraternizing with world leaders and meeting with senior Trump administration officials like Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He was even hosted by a prominent think-tank for a fireside chat with General David Petraeus, a self-described “fan.” Why is everyone so eager to embrace someone with a record of terror? Tom Joscelyn is back with Bill to unpack Washington's stunning, but not surprising, amnesia.

NotesThe Komboucha Girl was sick of seeing her face back in 2019, and yet here we are. Hozier in concert was great, even if his parents were not stars on the NBC soap, Days of Our Lives. That was John and Marlena. The visuals on Eat Your Young and Nina Cried Power were especially moving and inspiring. Someone made a playlist of the Nina Cried power songs, and now is a great time to listen to protest music. The impact 50 Shades had on the sales of ties (and other things) was real. An article from MEL about the wet problem, not just in romance, I guess. (that's a NSFW link based on the headline and content, okay.) Butts tie these two clips together: Miranda on SATC on “are we doing this now?” and Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle thinking “some lady is going to want to do it her.” But overall, spit is important. Fucking her ass, saving her life is a quote from a Shayla Black book and this amazing review from Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. Truly a Romancelandia classic. And, did Donna Martin just get the green light to make it "official" with David? We think so. Plus the Kelly storyline that was just absurd, and some backstory on the flashback scenes with David and Donna. Apparently, Season 7 Episode 22 "A Ripe Young Age" wasn't ripe enough.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
