Kuumassa kyssärissä puhutaan vihdoin The Pittin uudesta kaudesta ja lopuksi hyvää kesäkatseltavaa sweet chili dippien eli meidän kulttuurisuositusten teille muodossa. Tuu mukaan, nää on överit kemut!

Thursday's 7am hour of Mac & Cube began with us trying to talk about Alabama's spring ball, but Greg distracts everyone with April Fool's Day, Derek Jeter, and Leo DiCaprio; then, Chris Low, from On3 Sports, tells why Kalen DeBoer feels rejuvenized heading into Year 3, how he expects the QB competition to play out, and why Ryal Coleman-Williams is poised to return to form; later, Cole & Greg get into Alabama's QB competition and where each QB has strengths; and finally, we finally get to talk Alabama Spring Ball, without Greg's interference. Madeline, Emilio, and Julian are rejoined by film editor and all-around great cinephile hang James Codoyannis to wrap up their cycle of Oscar-Worthy Rom-Coms with a "Close-Up" on three films written by the prolific Neil Simon. For the first "Close-Up" episode devoted to a screenwriter, the group bring their varied histories with Simon's body of work, on screen and on stage, to viewings of 1967's "Barefoot in the Park," directed by Gene Saks, 1972's "The Heartbreak Kid," directed by Elaine May, and 1977's "The Goodbye Girl," directed by Herbert Ross. Despite the common threads of Neil Simon's writing style (such as speedy couplings of main characters, eccentric supporting roles, and impromptu moments of singing), these films make for an eclectic mix; whereas "Barefoot in the Park" channels an of-its-time comedy of errors from stage to screen, "The Heartbreak Kid" thrives on friction between Simon's romanticism and Elaine May's offbeat directorial style, and "The Goodbye Girl" goes back to matching Simon's vision while reflecting a newfound wisdom that comes with age. All of these films received Oscar nominations or wins in their respective years, most prominently in the acting categories, but awarded or not, they give us memorable performances from Robert Redford, Jane Fonda, Mildred Natwick, and Charles Boyer in "Barefoot in the Park," Charles Grodin, Jeannie Berlin, Cybill Shepard, and Eddie Albert in "The Heartbreak Kid," and Richard Dreyfuss, Marsha Mason, and Quinn Cummings in "The Goodbye Girl," all of whom helped bring Neil Simon's evolving screenplays to life. Use code trashy at the link below to get an exclusive 60% off an annual Incogni plan: incogni.com/trashy Today we're bringing you one of our occasional Dumpster Dives, where we catch up on the latest news from the Trashy Divorces Cinematic Universe. In the Dumpster today: Corey Feldman's long running divorce is over, but he's found something else to be mad about: the time he was almost cast in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Leo DiCaprio earned an Oscar nomination instead. Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are reportedly planning to get married, but Hugh's children aren't entirely on board. Also, no prenup? Come on, celebrities. Do you even listen to our show? 80s pop master Boy George has some advice for notoriously press-averse Chappell Roan. Another 80s pop master, Billy Joel, was honored at Carnegie Hall, accompanied to the show by his friend P!NK. Is Tom Brady dating Scooter Braun's ex, Yael? Maybe so, but Giselle still wins the divorce, Tom. Dearly departed Shannen Doherty is somehow still in court with her ex-husband, who wants the terms of their divorce agreement adjusted because, you know, she lost her fight with breast cancer two years ago. Finally, Cindy Crawford made the mistake of sharing her morning routine with social media. The results were... well, you can guess. Sophia and Nick follow up their chat about the wonderful Oscar-nominated supporting performances with their leading counterparts, which leave an equally indelible mark on this year's awards season. The ten nominees in Actor and Actress (22:23) challenge both the actor and the audience to search the deepest parts within oneself to find what differentiates the body and spirit from the collective hive mind of humanity. Michael B. Jordan tackles being twins AND a vampire while Leo DiCaprio plays a father racing to the ends of the earth to protect his daughter. Also, Rose Byrne, Jessie Buckley, and Kate Hudson shine while bravely channelling the unrelenting trials of motherhood. Comment with your own write-in votes and who you think should win! This week, I'm joined by hilarious and whip-smart comedian Lauren Edwards! We unpack the perils of dating male actors, micro-feminism and patriarchy chicken, unhinged relationship rules (spoiler: two toilets minimum), and the espresso martini agenda. We share horror date stories, debate Beyoncé, give Leo DiCaprio the side-eye, and reveal the weird celebrity icks we can't shake. Plus: why musicians pull, the lucid dreaming scam, and Val Kilmer being Lauren's Batman hill to die on.It's chaotic, confessional, and cathartic, perfect for anyone who's ever cried post-situationship or considered dating a guy because he owns a guitar. Enjoy the mess divas!!!#datingadvice #podcast #datingadvice
From Netflix's birth to Titanic mania, its safe to say that 1997 was a stacked year, but not before a 26-year-old Paul Thomas Anderson dropped Boogie Nights, turning taboo into pure cinema. On this episode, we revisit the film's intoxicating rise-and-fall arc, the found-family heartbeat, and the moment VHS killed the golden age of adult films. We also dig into the real-world inspirations (Dirk Diggler ⇄ John Holmes; the Wonderland murders), the deliriously tense Alfred Molina “Jessie's Girl” sequence, some wild what-ifs—like Leo DiCaprio passing on the lead—and the legend behind Dirk's big reveal at the end of the film.Chapters:00:00 PTA Was HOW OLD?!00:24 What You'll Get (Adult Themes)01:23 First Impressions03:30 From Valley Kid to Visionary04:24 What Could've Been06:33 Why Wahlberg Works07:31 Burt Reynolds vs PTA (…and the Oscar)08:38 The REAL Dirk Diggler11:25 Was that Real or Fake?12:52 This Opening One-Take SLAPS15:28 More PTA Flexing21:34 Tone Flip on NYE25:54 VHS Killed The Film Star29:39 Jessie's Girl: The Most Tense 8 Minutes33:06 Found Family… and Fallout42:16 Wrap-UpContent note: Heavy adult themes on this episode, so viewer discretion is advised.
