In this episode, Lewis talks with Dr Sophie Cox, Lecturer in the School of Chemical Engineering and the Healthcare Technologies Institute (HTI) at the University of Birmingham. They speak about how 3D printing is being used to manufacture face visors and silicone seals for our frontline NHS staff. These visors are used alongside other personal protective equipment (PPE) by staff in hospitals and offer an extra protection from COVID-19 virus. Sophie and her colleagues at the University of Birmingham and King's College London, have created a manufacturing chain of printers.
