You Are Not Your TraumaTrauma can profoundly impact an individual's life, shaping their perceptions, behaviors, and relationships. However, it's crucial to understand that while trauma may influence who you are, it does not define your entire identity. Here's a comprehensive look at why you are more than your trauma:Understanding Trauma's Impact Trauma's Mark: Trauma leaves a mark on individuals, influencing their thoughts, emotions, and reactions. It can lead to feelings of being different, a sense of disconnection, and challenges in forming healthy relationships. Identity and Trauma: For many, trauma becomes intertwined with their sense of self, making it hard to distinguish between the trauma and their true identity. This over-identification with trauma can lead to a life where the past overshadows the present and future. Acknowledging Trauma: Recognizing the impact of trauma is the first step towards healing. It's about understanding that while trauma has shaped you, it doesn't have to control your narrative 13. Reclaiming Identity: Healing involves reclaiming your identity beyond the trauma. This process includes self-reflection, challenging negative beliefs, and actively choosing to focus on aspects of yourself that are not defined by trauma 37. Mind Management: Techniques like Dr. Caroline Leaf's Neurocycle can help manage trauma's impact on identity, allowing individuals to redefine themselves through deliberate and intentional mind management 7. Self-Compassion and Awareness: Being kind to yourself and acknowledging your pain while celebrating your resilience is vital. Understanding your triggers and how to respond to them can prevent trauma responses from hurting your relationships. Community and Support: Connecting with others who share similar experiences can provide validation and strength. Professional help from therapists specializing in trauma can guide you through the healing process. Rewriting Your Narrative: Healing involves rewriting your life story, not erasing the past but integrating it into a broader, more resilient narrative. This can be done through creative and artistic means, allowing for exploration and reimagination of your identity The Journey Beyond TraumaStrategies for Healing

Why Indifference is Dangerous Erosion of Empathy: How global apathy desensitizes societies, leading to increased tolerance of violence and human rights abuses.  Normalization of Violence: When people ignore or downplay genocide, it sets a dangerous precedent that violence is acceptable. The continuous exposure to violence without meaningful accountability results in its normalization. When health workers are shot or bombed while trying to save lives, or journalists are targeted and killed for reporting the truth, it signals that violence has crossed boundaries without retribution. The systematic killing of babies and young children in violent conflicts is perhaps the most egregious manifestation of this normalization; it shows a blatant disregard for the sanctity of life and strips away the most fundamental human protections. In the context of Palestine, reports have documented hospitals being bombed and medical teams becoming victims while carrying out their duties. These targeted acts erode the protective norms once safeguarded by international law. The murder of journalists, whose role is to inform and foster accountability, further compounds this normalization. When society accepts that those who seek to bear witness to injustice are silenced, it removes a critical check against abuses of power. Political and Social Impact: Governments may be less inclined to intervene or provide aid if public pressure is absent. Indifference significantly influences political and social responses to genocidal acts and systemic violence. When governments and political leaders sense a lack of widespread public outcry, they are less motivated to intervene, push for ceasefires, or provide humanitarian aid. Public pressure has historically played a vital role in galvanizing political action, as seen in movements against apartheid or during genocides where swift intervention saved lives. In the absence of global attention and pressure, political entities may choose strategic silence over advocacy, especially when geopolitical interests or alliances come into play. This can embolden oppressive regimes to continue acts of violence with little fear of international repercussions. The targeting of babies, medics, and journalists starkly illustrates that when these acts are met with a muted response, the world risks legitimizing not just the violence itself but the broader framework that allows these tragedies to unfold unchecked.   The Psychology of Apathy People might choose to ignore such events, including cognitive dissonance, information fatigue, and the "bystander effect." Political bias, media framing, and the polarization of public opinion contribute to selective attention or indifference, influencing public perception and governmental response. Media portrayal, distance, and perceived powerlessness can contribute to this indifference.   The Moral Responsibility of Awareness Being informed is the first step toward empathy and action. Staying updated and informed humanizes distant conflicts and helps break down the psychological barriers that lead to apathy.   Spreading awareness through conversations, social media, and educational programs can lead to increased pressure on policymakers.   Awareness doesn't just stop at the individual level; it can influence wider circles and inspire collective action. Sharing verified information through conversations, social media, and educational platforms can amplify underrepresented voices and force policymakers to take action   Find impactful campaigns and organizations that focus on genocide awareness and prevention. Engaging with these groups or supporting them through donations and volunteer work can make a tangible difference.   Making invisible suffering visible is a powerful method to combat complacency.   Real-World Implications This apathy has practical consequences. Medical professionals working under fire lose their lives, leading to healthcare crises where people die not from their initial injuries but from the lack of medical intervention. Journalists' deaths mean fewer voices calling attention to the truth, leaving global citizens reliant on diluted or biased narratives. The lives of babies cut short disrupt the very hope and future of affected communities. The cumulative silence signals that the rules protecting civilians and those working to help them can be violated without consequences.   What Can We Do? Educate Yourself and Others: Resources for learning about ongoing and past genocides. Amplify Voices: Support and share stories of survivors and those affected. Support Organizations: Talk about reputable charities and groups that work to stop genocide and assist victims. Advocacy and Political Engagement: The importance of writing to representatives or joining campaigns that push for action. Remember: Apathy toward genocide doesn't just affect those far away—it impacts global stability, human rights, and our collective humanity.   Thank you for tuning in. xoxo

I manifested my move to LA— I thought I'd figured out the energetic space to live from to manifest my purpose & dream career. Reality hit harder than I thought. My confidence took a massive hit. I'm learning that confidence leads to uncertainty, but that's the point. If that's true, how can we trust ourselves and feel confident when we're anxious? How can we slow down and take care of ourselves to see uncertainty as a place of infinite possibility instead of living from a place of fear and scarcity? Key elements I dig into:1. Flexible Mindset: Self-confidence fluctuates. Stay open minded and be compassionate with yourself. 2. Self-Care: Extreme “performance” requires extreme self-care—nutrition, physical, and emotional well-being—they all influence our confidence. 3. Slow Down: Are you leading from a place of ego and need for validation? Confidence stays when we're mindful, present, and grounded in who we are. 4. Connection: Where are you making decisions from? What's your intention? Are you trying to impress or are you respecting yourself, your thoughts, your mind? 5. Awareness: Being aware of our emotions, energy levels, and cycles can help us make decisions aligned with our personal flow & rhythm. Chapters: 00:14 The Journey to Confidence and Purpose 00:41 Manifesting a New Life: The Move to LA 02:20 Facing Challenges and Rediscovering Confidence 03:57 Preserving Self-Confidence Amidst Doubt 05:16 Confidence is Dynamic: The day you find it, is the day you'll lose it. 6:45 We don't always have the best mindset, and that's ok 07:03 The Role of Quality Food and People & Confidence 11:04 Connecting to Yourself for Real Confidence 13:07 Slowing Down to Connect and Gain Confidence 16:02 Managing Your Energy and Emotions 23:25 Aligning Work with Nature's Cycles 25:30 Conclusion Subscribe for more! We connect to who we are. How is Awareness (Being) experienced in clarity? Like a rainbow. One end stretches beyond creation in what might be called empty/fullness. As you come into creation there is an explosion of Light then sound, then bliss, joy, love, happiness and peace. This is what is aware of everything else in meditation. Thoughts and emotions are just structures we have created. They don't think or feel and once their job is done best to let them release the energy they were created back into love peace and happiness. This is why we meditate. Experiencing the truth of who we are is a helpful coherence therapy tenant as we relax into happiness.www.williamecooper.wordpress.com for more.

Understanding and practicing an Awareness Mindset We live in a world that is usually safe, but sometimes dangerous. An awareness mindset is the most important part of a Personal Protection Plan. First, let's define: Awareness- Being aware of one's surroundings and being able to identify potential threats and dangerous situations. The practice of awareness is much more a mindset than a skill set. Anyone can implement an awareness mindset without formal training. What does it take? Know that threats exist. Ignorance or denial of threats ruins your ability to be able to recognize and avoid danger Understand that you are ultimately responsible for your own security. Law enforcement and security forces are REACTIONARY almost all of the time Trust your "gut". Your intuition is a very powerful asset and ally. Far too often people ignore that "gut feeling" that is telling them that something is wrong In the end, having an awareness mindset that you are willing to take responsibility is the foundation of your safety and security. It is up to you to look our for yourself, your family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. Pass on what you learn and know. Begin making a conscious habit of being aware of what your "gut" is telling you and what is happening around you. Do this even when you are distracted. That is what will set you apart from being a victim to being a survivor. Practical Tactics for an Awareness Mindset Put down your phone. Seriously, there is plenty of time when you aren't out and about to check Instagram updates and your friends on Snapchat. Get your head up and your eyes looking around. Think about what you are seeing. Is someone out of place or acting in a strange manner? What about that car that doesn't look like it belongs? Is you "gut" trying to tell you something (other than about the tacos you ate a half an hour ago)? Make the decision, and start practicing an awareness mindset today! Welcome! My guest today is Dr. Melissa Dettore who is a psychologist and yoga instructor. She is  located in Philadelphia, PA. Melissa offers a variety of workshops for adults and teens wanting to manage their anxiety or depression symptoms using yoga and mindfulness in her practice. She explains how mindfulness can change the brain and help in managing stressors in life. I have done yoga on and off for years and love how it allows for each person to focus on their breathing, become more aware of their body and moving into a pose. I find it to be a great way to do moving meditation. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did with Melissa. I think yoga and mindfulness can not only benefit teen girls, but support parents as well.  In this episode you will learn: Melissa has been doing yoga and mindfulness for years Melissa shares a personal experience of how mindfulness and her yoga practice helped her through cancer treatment. Yoga and mindfulness have the following benefits: Reduce stress Reduce anxiety and depression Create new connections in the brain Facts about yoga to address concerns: Any body type can do yoga Can go at your own pace Do not have to have specific outfit to do yoga We all have fears Listen to your own body, creating a mind/body connection Yoga can help parents role model to daughters about practicing mindfulness regarding our own judgements and expectations and letting them go Basic Foundations of mindfulness Awareness Being in present moment Non-judgment and letting go of judgments Beginners mind-looking at everything through new set of eyes and staying curious For teen girls-gaining skills around awareness, non-judging and acceptance are important Some of mindfulness and yoga practices are based in Buddhist philosophy Girls who struggle with “anxiety aren’t in present moment and worried about the future. If feeling depressed they are stuck in the past. Mindfulness they can begin to bring awareness back to here and now.” Mindfulness can help lower breathing rate, feel more calm, and can use these techniques before a test to reduce stress level or do some yoga stretches in the morning. Mindfulness “is like strength training-you want to build the mind muscles up.” During meditation it is normal for your mind to wonder and have thoughts notice them and bring yourself back to breathing Thoughts are like clouds in the sky, just let them pass by.   If you liked this episode I invite you to subscribe on iTunes to receive the weekly updates. It looks you are here for 'all this' all this form..but when you begin to awaken you will be taking out the form ...out of how you move and relate. You will be learning how to digest forms that you created and ingest them back through your heart, back into what you are. You will be learning to dissolve form and bring more formlessness of What You Are in the Deep into integration in the self, through this person . Often when this happens you will be feeling a discomfort at the level of your self and person. Levels of you that are to be brought into what you are realising - first though your dissolving into That that is deeper than your self-experience, back into your Being and through your growing ability to form the formlessness in all of your relatedness. Right the way through into your humanness expressed through a person that will be trans-formed ..So that what comes through you is What You Are - all the way! Anybody listening to you have the opportunity to meet you where you are coming from and actually meet you where You are coming from , transcending all forms of relationship , which makes all forms of relationship enlightened. Life is never so good as the moment when we are challenged by 'More than what we know'. Somehow when we are challenged by 'More than what we know', 'More than your self experience', we are enabled to dive deeper ...into a deeper calling of having life and realising What we Are ..and it has no end. So I am very clear that the body that we seem to have is actually put together in the moment .. Current science is transcending the idea that the body is created in time. The body is created in Presence by Awareness Being what IT is and THEN Awareness that moves into time and identifies with space time as particular likes and dislikes holds on to the body: cells of remembrance of a past that belongs to someone that doesn't actually exist. Many people playing the same game of holding on to patterns related to a dream of past relatedness... when in Truth all relatedness is the relationship between 'What You Are' - 'Who You Are' - the very nature of Consciousness Itself, which where I come from is LOVE... ...and when I say 'where I come from' I am speaking of 'the I that is listening Now'. Bring your Awareness to your heart. It is the entrance into the Deep. For me this is like a jug that pours out what IT is and all this takes place. It is the entrance into the Deep and the discovery what the Deep is. It is the entrance into your profound Being-ness. It is here, right here and even deeper than the heart. When Awareness fully functions from the Knowing of the heart, from what Awareness is knowing at the level of the heart, then the named Knower disappears and revelation, deeper awakening or even enlightenment takes place. “When I speak and when I see Thee and speak to Thee I am not speaking to you as a self-centre. I come to you as Awareness-Being. I don't see you sitting there in Form. My name is Be Prior- I am prior to form. I am where form springs from and am even prior to Being. When I speak like this I am not speaking about someone on the chair; that is a manifestation of what THIS is. So those that come… I just point them in the same direction as the realisation here.No one actually gets enlightened, but there is a return of Awareness moving into Knowing, which is light of the Self. Enlightenment then is Awareness no longer getting confused with the sense of self as a me. “ Everyone's life really is a translation of their Knowing, the Knowing of a Greater Reality, the Knowing of Source, truly as who or what they really are. It is the awakening to that knowing, that light of Knowing that draws’ you to satang. For me satsang is not just here ..it when you are buying your vegetables, when you are on the bus, when you are walking on the street. I don't see anything but God. This is a total movement of God. When Awareness returns to that Knowing, all the functions of this vehicle of conscious Awareness return direct and immediately to the movement of Knowing. from : Deeply Believe in Who and What You Are India DEC 151213 Full Session Package available here: http://bprior.org/audio/india-sessions-2015-package
