Today on Uncommon Sense, we're talking about “law enforcement” and why so many people no longer feel like laws are actually being enforced equally or consistently, especially when it comes to powerful and well-connected individuals connected to the Epstein scandal. We discuss the growing public frustration surrounding the unreleased and heavily redacted Epstein files, the lack of visible accountability for elite predators, and why so many Americans feel the justice system has failed women, children, and vulnerable people. We also talk about why local police departments, sheriffs, prosecutors, and public officials should be demanding full transparency and supporting the release of the complete unredacted Epstein files so the public can see the truth plainly. This episode also goes into the broader leadership crisis facing America and much of the world: weak leadership, fear of confrontation, and silence in the face of corruption. We discuss the need for stronger moral leadership, stronger families, stronger communities, and men willing to stand up publicly against evil instead of shrinking back from difficult conversations. If laws are not enforced equally, trust in institutions collapses. If justice is selective, people stop believing justice exists at all. It's time for courage, accountability, truth, and leadership again.--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app

This episode is brought to you by Audible, WHOOP and Strong Coffee Company.  What really created Tesla's explosive growth? Was it Elon Musk, innovation, timing… or was there actually a repeatable formula behind it all? In this episode of Ever Forward Radio, former Tesla President Jon McNeill breaks down the exact framework used to scale Tesla from $1.8 billion to nearly $20 billion in revenue in just 30 months. Drawing from his new book, The Algorithm, Jon explains how companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Lululemon, and others use systems thinking, customer obsession, speed, curiosity, and innovation to create hypergrowth. But this conversation goes far beyond business. Chase and Jon explore how the same principles can be applied to your personal life, fitness, mindset, relationships, habits, and purpose. They discuss the danger of comfort and convenience, why most startups fail even with funding, how to build a mission-driven life, and the hidden cost of scaling too fast. Jon also shares behind-the-scenes stories from Tesla, lessons from working alongside Elon Musk, the importance of values and intentionality, and why curiosity may be the greatest superpower for growth. Happy Mother's Day to all of the incredible mothers out there. Today's episode is a deeper conversation about the urgent need for stronger, more biblical men and women in our culture, people willing to stand for truth, protect the vulnerable, and refuse to stay silent in the face of evil.We discuss the ongoing outrage surrounding the Epstein files, the lack of accountability for powerful people, and the broader cultural failure to protect victims from wicked and predatory individuals. But this conversation goes beyond headlines. It's about morality, courage, justice, faith, and what happens when societies stop valuing strong families, strong character, and biblical principles. This episode is ultimately about hope too, because evil does not win forever. Real justice matters, truth matters, and good people still have a responsibility to speak up.

In this episode, Jonathan Drake wraps up a 16-week deep dive into Lysander Spooner's Trial by Jury, focusing on the moral responsibility of jurors in a system that often disguises government control as justice. On Easter evening, the discussion ties together themes of liberty, consent, and the dangerous implications of unjust law. Drake argues that jurors are not passive participants but active moral agents responsible for the outcomes of their verdicts. He explores how taxation, majority rule, and curated evidence undermine true consent and justice, and why jury nullification may be the last line of defense against tyranny. The episode closes with a broader conversation about modern society, including elite overproduction, decentralization, and the possibility of peaceful resistance through withdrawing consent.

People who think and write about the ethics of artificial intelligence sometimes talk about a 'responsibility gap'. The thought is that there are instances of harm resulting from the use of AI systems where it's difficult or impossible to know who or what should be held responsible. Some have further argued that the existence of this gap shows that our current concept of moral responsibility is not fit for purpose, and that we need to change it through a process which philosophers sometimes call 'conceptual engineering'. Enrico Galvagni and Fabio Tollon, both based at the University of Edinburgh, have an interesting contribution to make to this debate - they do think we need to engage in conceptual engineering, but they are interested in whether, and how, the concept of moral responsibility can be preserved, rather than changed.Enrico and Fabio's paper on the topic is here:Engineering responsibility in the age of AI: amelioration or preservation?Ethics Untangled is produced by IDEA, The Ethics Centre at the University of Leeds.Bluesky: @ethicsuntangled.bsky.socialFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/ideacetlLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/idea-ethics-centre/

Then we address the circulating TPUSA / Erika Kirk / Charlie Kirk assassination-related news, breaking down what has actually been reported, what remains unclear, and why responsible people should care about facts, timelines, and accountability (as Candace Owens does). Truth matters, not carefully crafted false narratives.I also speak candidly about Trump's failures because blind loyalty helps no one, and criticism is not betrayal. If leadership is going to demand trust, it has to earn it. Same goes for respect. Finally, because many of you have asked, I address some personal matters: ongoing unwanted attention from men I have clearly and firmly removed from my life, including an individual by the name of Timothy Ronald C. (I will reveal his full legal name publicly if he does not leave me alone) and an ex whose post-NFL career implosions are not my responsibility to manage, nor care about. To be clear: this is not “dragging” solely for entertainment purposes. This is about boundaries I have made (which are very known). I am in a happy, healthy relationship, I have moved on, and these men will never see me again. This episode is about truth, discernment, and refusing to be bullied—politically, culturally, or personally—into silence. This is America, home of the brave and land of the FREE.--https://www.bible.com/

I also address my personal suspicions regarding Erika Kirk and the toxic culture within TPUSA, shaped by my own experiences and tensions with TPUSA staff behind the scenes.Drawing from TPUSA events, I recount direct disagreements I had with staff over what I viewed as dangerously inadequate security, and why Charlie, tragically, never seemed to fully grasp how influential and vulnerable he had become. What happens when global power politics collide with lived human suffering — and who gets centered in the story? This conversation was recorded in the immediate aftermath of dramatic U.S. military action in Venezuela and amid rising concerns about immigration enforcement and political violence in the United States. If you're joining us via Pocket Casts, welcome — this show brings journalists, scholars, and public thinkers together for conversations across disagreement without turning each other into caricatures or shouting past one another. Corey is joined once again by leadership consultant, writer, and podcast host Lori Adams-Brown, who grew up in Venezuela and maintains deep personal ties to the country. Together, they explore what it means to witness global events not as abstractions, but as realities carried “in the bones.” Lori shares what Venezuela was like before decades of authoritarian rule reshaped everyday life — the culture, beauty, resilience, humor, and communal spirit that defined her childhood. She reflects on how collective trauma reshapes societies, how hyper-vigilance becomes normalized, and why resilience often comes with hidden costs. The conversation examines the recent removal of Nicolás Maduro, the geopolitical motivations behind U.S. involvement, and the danger of centering American political narratives over Venezuelan voices. Lori challenges listeners to resist ideological shortcuts and instead listen directly to those most affected — recognizing that Venezuelans are not a monolith, and that their responses blend relief, fear, grief, hope, and exhaustion all at once. Corey and Lori also explore how trauma — whether national, communal, or personal — can drive dogmatism, flatten nuance, and harden political identities. Drawing from Lori's background in trauma-informed leadership and cross-cultural work, they discuss how curiosity, humility, and self-regulation are essential if we're going to talk about politics and religion without dehumanizing one another. This is not a tidy conversation. It's not meant to be. It's an invitation to slow down, listen more carefully, and remember the human cost behind every headline. Dr. Joiner argues that both ancient Christian thought and contemporary research support the view that human beings possess genuine self-determination, exploring implications for moral responsibility, bioethics, and the differences between Eastern and Western theological frameworks. All the links: Substack: https://nathanajacobs.substack.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thenathanjacobspodcastWebsite: https://www.nathanajacobs.com/X: https://x.com/NathanJacobsPodSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0hSskUtCwDT40uFbqTk3QSApple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-nathan-jacobs-podcastFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/nathanandrewjacobsAcademia: https://vanderbilt.academia.edu/NathanAJacobsOther words for the algorithm… free will, libertarian free will, compatibilism, determinism, Gregory of Nyssa, Cappadocian Fathers, patristic theology, Eastern Orthodox theology, church fathers, theological anthropology, theosis, deification, synergy, moral responsibility, praise and blame, developmental psychology, moral agency, self-determination, Christian anthropology, Christian East, Christian West, philosophy of religion, free will debate, moral psychology, bioethics, applied philosophy, Basil the Great, John Chrysostom, patristics, Orthodox Christianity, Byzantine theology, ancient philosophy, Christian philosophy, systematic theology, philosophical theology, Aristotelian ethics, virtue ethics, moral philosophy, conscience, moral intuition, Augustine, Pelagianism, divine sovereignty, human freedom, image of God, imago Dei, salvation, soteriology, grace, divine grace, sanctification, spiritual formation, Desert Fathers, Maximus the Confessor, Origen, Irenaeus, moral development, character formation, passions, will and intellect, Thomas Aquinas, Thomism, Kant, autonomy, phenomenology, David Bentley Hart, Kallistos Ware, Vladimir Lossky, ecumenical councils, Nicene Creed, liturgical theology, mystical theology, apophatic theology, hesychasm, spiritual senses, nous, William James, neuroscience and free will, agent causation, Peter van Inwagen, Alvin Plantinga, natural law theory, Neoplatonism, Plato, metaphysics, causation

In this episode, Dr. Douglas Groothuis shares a timely Christian reflection on gambling, prompted by a recent commentary from Al Mohler and cultural attention around the Kentucky Derby. Drawing from a short editorial he originally wrote in response to a proposed state-run gambling initiative in Alaska, Dr. Groothuis explores the moral, philosophical, and spiritual dangers of gambling through the lens of the Christian worldview. From the addictive nature of gambling to the flawed utilitarian logic used to defend it, this episode challenges listeners to examine the ethics of state-sponsored betting, personal responsibility, and trust in divine providence rather than chance.

What does "Joyful Non-Compliance" look like in today's world? In this thought-provoking episode, the hosts explore how faith intersects with politics, justice, and cultural challenges. Diving into Romans 12 and 13, they discuss the biblical posture of joyful, peaceful non-compliance, emphasizing the church's role in society as a force of love, justice, and truth. From the complexities of navigating immigration issues to the tension between idolatry and injustice in government, this conversation unpacks what it means to live out cruciformity—a life shaped by the cross—in a chaotic world. Key insights include the distinction between peacekeeping and peacemaking, the theological implications of governance, and how Christians can embody a faithful, socially engaged presence amidst cultural turmoil. With practical examples and a deep dive into the text, the hosts challenge listeners to embrace a countercultural, Jesus-centered response to injustice and idolatry. Join the discussion and share your thoughts! How can we, as individuals and communities, live out this call to justice and non-compliance with humility and hope? Today, we're taking a look at the unraveling mayhem situation in California, where Governor Gavin Newsom's failure to lead has allowed chaos to run absolutely wild. Violent riots involving illegal immigrants (most of whom are military-aged men) are breaking out across the state. These individuals are not assimilating, they are disrupting, demanding, and waving foreign flags while burning ours on American soil. As California spirals, it's no surprise that federal intervention has become necessary. President Trump has stepped in where state "leadership" would not. This really isn't about politics, it's about preserving order, protecting citizens, and upholding the rule of law. We are a people who serve a God of justice, not disorder. What's happening is not compassionate, it's destabilizing. California deserves better, and America must wake up before this becomes the norm nationwide. God forbid. Let's talk about what's really going on in California and why prayer, truth, and resolve are crucial right now.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoqJuDPZk6H7VWSxgepSo3RWAJCtIGO9wrHmULH1iMgxSzkJ791_--Order CULTure: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/SLYWFXAB6479S
