Our last stop at the ShowStoppers event at CES in Las Vegas was one we look forward to every year. Larry O'Connor, Founder and CEO of Other World Computing (OWC) talked about all things Thunderbolt 5. OWC just introduced their new Thunderbolt 5 cable capable of 40 GB data transfer and has complete backward compatibility with earlier versions of Thunderbolt. Larry gave us an education about why the order and types of devices could actually slow them down in pre-Thunderbolt 5 configurations, and how to avoid the problem with their recently-released Thunderbolt 5 hub. Hello AKA GEEKS Squad! Hope everyone is doing great! The guys bring you a new episode with news on the RED DEAD REDEMPTION sales spike after announced as Backward Compatible. We discuss Tomb Raider, Saw and Batman movies while also mentioning in brief some Pokemon Go and Evolve going Free to Play. Join us in our crazy chats of everything that happened in the week.
For the third episode of our episodic playthrough of Ghostbusters:The Videogame we tackle two new stages, History Museum and Return to Sedgewick Hotel. Join us as we run down all the ins and outs of both levels and give our highly objective opinions on how we feel about the game up to this point in general. Our overall opinions of the game aren't swayed too much by these next two stages but while I start to get a grasp of the mechanics Madcap struggles with some unfortunate problems.
For the second episode of our episodic playthrough of Ghostbusters: The Videogame we tackle two new stages, Times Square and Public Library. Join us as we run down all the ins and outs of both levels and give our highly objective opinions on how we feel about the game up to this point in general. While we agree that that Ghostbusters license is being used well, we still find the gameplay itself lacking to say the least.
Welcome to our inaugural episode for Backward Compatible, the place where old videogames become new again. Join us as we playthrough a select older videogame in an episodic format and give our impressions as we play the game. For our first game we have chose Ghostbusters: The Videogame (2009). With the new film on the horizon we thought it would be a fun way to remember the original film and cast by playing through what many consider the unofficial Ghostbusters 3 film. For this episode we are playing through the first tutorial stage and up to completion of the first stage Sedgewick Hotel. Not only can you hear what we have to say but now you can actually see our playthroughs themselves by visiting my youtube channel Gaming with Dweavis and my counterpart's channel at Madcap888.

We will discuss a novel approach to building safeguards against denial of service attacks against communication protocols. Our approach involves changes to the relevant communication protocol subject to the following constraint: the protocol that results from the change must be backward compatible with the unchanged protocol. That is, an entity that employs the changed protocol must be able to communicate with an entity that employs the unchanged version. We will look at a specific problem in this context. The problem involves a class of denial of service attacks against IP. The class is called ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) cache poisoning and involves an attacker introducing a spurious IP to Ethernet mapping in a victim's ARP cache. We will discuss the solution and some implementation aspects of it. Apart from being backward compatible, our solution has two favourable properties: it is implemented as middleware, and is asynchronous.
