Two More Tryhards are trying to remember which Call of Duty we're even on anymore. We try zombies, realize that we're bads, then we try some local multiplayer, and realize that we actually miss fighting games still.
This week, it’s all about stolen APCs, flixel-likes and flixel lites, making music with Beepbox, using our P-balls, and also: video games! We exchange gripes we have with some of our favorite game franchises — from Monster Hunter to Fallout — and go in deep into some new games we’ve been trying out. But the biggest topic of discussion is of course the firing of ArenaNet employees Jessica Price and Peter Fries, a controversy that merges sexism, toxic fandom, harassment, and workers’ rights all into one. We discuss how this affects the relationship between players and developers and how it shows how the games industry still has a long way to go to combat harassment. Games include Monster Hunter Stories, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Overwatch, Mario Tennis Aces, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Batman: The Enemy Within. Got a question for the show? Join us on Discord or email us at contact@ward-games.com!

This week we talk with Composer Jack Wall about his work on the critically acclaimed Call of Duty: Black Ops III video game. Jack Wall’s distinguished musical career includes composing for film, television, video games and concerts as well as his early years producing and engineering albums for recording artists. Renowned for his rich, cinematic scores for popular franchises such as Call of Duty, Mass Effect, Myst, Splinter Cell and Jade Empire, Wall’s repertoire spans a diverse range of musical styles and influences, while working with the world’s top orchestras and musicians. Wall is celebrated among a Hollywood elite of composers invited to score one of the most successful entertainment properties, Call of Duty. His score for Black Ops II delivered in grand fashion an adrenaline-fueled, deeply emotional and adventurous musical palette that took the blockbuster series in new sonic directions. In 2013 Wall received Best Video Game Score at the ASCAP Film and TV Music Awards. Collaborating with the world’s leading game studios, Wall is widely recognized for composing some of the most iconic scores for the medium. Wall created the distinctive musical signature for BioWare’s sci-fi epic Mass Effect, combining ’80s electronica, synthetic instrumentation and futuristic atmospheres. The soundtrack won numerous accolades, achieving cult status with fans. In 2011, Wall received British Academy (BAFTA) and Spike TV VGA nominations for his work on Mass Effect 2. Composing for and conducting a full symphony orchestra and master chorale, Wall first garnered attention with his dramatic score for Ubisoft’s MYST III: EXILE, receiving universal critical acclaim including several Soundtrack of the Year honors. For the climactic sequel, Myst IV: Revelation, Wall was awarded Music of the Year at the Game Developers Conference. With Jade Empire, Wall crafted a Chinese and Asian instrumental palette incorporating an “East meets West” approach. Working with authentic Pan-Asian instruments Wall crafted an exotic, percussion-driven score to enhance the mythological Chinese setting. Jade Empire was voted Best Original Soundtrack Album by the Game Audio Network Guild. In addition to his composing achievements, Wall served as Music Director and co-producer for composer/librettist Cindy Shapiro’s PSYCHE: A Modern Rock Opera, an innovative modern retelling of the ancient Greek. He also co-created Video Games Live and served as its Music Director/Conductor from 2005 through 2010 performing with more than 50 of the world’s finest orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and London Philharmonia Orchestra. Among his latest projects Wall is scoring the next installment in Activision/Treyarch’s flagship franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and additional music for CW Television Network’s historical fantasy drama series, Reign. His second entry in the Call of Duty legacy, Wall’s score displays the hallmarks of an epic, sophisticated narrative and explores new musical territory for the record-breaking series including big band and swing. Call of Duty: Black Ops III arrives Nov. 6, 2015.

After an extended injury break, the podcast is finally back. Hopefully, Milan get the memo and step up and give us some more good things to talk about. Until that point, like a baby deer learning to stand and then walk, Milan will most likely still be finding our footing. That process allows for successes and failures, but does not demand the consistency that most of us fans are craving. But even with a run of three consecutive wins, consistency is still very much lacking in this season. Whether it be mentality or injuries or just missing pieces still, Milan are definitely still looking to find their footing. To bring us back online with the podcasts, it had to be David as my guest. He is the mastermind behind acmilanfinance.com and you can always find his words of wisdom on Twitter if you follow @DavidLSwan. This time we chatted about: News of the Week: Oops, Tavecchio did it again, generous Mihajlovic, Ibra spurns Milan, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Bonera’s wisdom, Mexes’ surprise Season Update: Milan’s standing & recent matches Injury Update: who is still out and how long they’ll be gone International Break: who is representing their national teams this week Allegri vs. Milan Grudgematch: predictions for Juve-Milan Coming Up: mark your calendar for the upcoming matches Thanks again to David for an impromptu podcast on a moment’s notice. Ken has figured out why his ears have been bothring his so much this last week. He has an extra hole in his ear drum. He also has ways for everyone to be a bit more fiscally responsible to save money. In sad news, terrorist attacks hit Paris this week :( In Geek Cred, Wayne has been playing a lot of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops III and si really enjoying himself. Somehow he found time to watch some new media including Antman, The Flash, and Supernatural. So far he is having a lot of fun with them. Ken's entire week has been taken up with Fallout 4. There are already stories from the wasteland. Somehow he managed to play a little Killing Floor 2 and Hearthstone. In the Geek-O-Scope, There are throwbacks to Nintendo, more Blizzard news, Comcast making a fool of itself, and sales figures for the two new big games on the block. in THIS, the 16th, and most memorable episode yet, because they just get better and better - we chat about the fact that Konami has "comitted to the core" and plans to continue developing games on their IP like Castelvania and Metal Gear, we doubt they'll do much of repute but really hope some up and coming writer gets a crack at some seriously cool opportunities for stories. We also chat about games cutting single player entirely - Call of Duty Black Ops III has no campaign on Xbox 360 and PS3, but you get zombies, so Activision are generous gods. Rainbow 6 Siege has no single player as well, but for different reasons it seems - Brian gets a bit upset about the COD news, while Joe still isn't sure R6 has what it needs to be worth that $60 price tag.Doxy Played some Jotun and likes it quite a bit, but chat seemed to not dig the art style for some reason, while she also got some time in with P.T. finally - it only made her more sadified that it won't come to be. She wasn't a fan of the puzzles though, and even if it were something of a teaser to be tough to figure out, some of itw as just dumb. She also explains how she had to rethink interior design following the late night play.Brian got into a lot of really cool board games including Exploding Kittens and Artemis. Exploding Kittens almost made Doxy cry at first, but the game still sounds like a blast, and Artemis looks to be a really cool starship sim game played with a projector and dictating responsibilities. Joe can finally talk about FIFA, and reveals that it's an incredible soccer game for fans, as well as those that wanted to check the game out in general - with a good learning curve that teaches as you go, and a super addictive Ultimate Team mode, it's just plain fun. If you hate soccer though, you'll hate FIFA so just move on. Also NBA Live 16 is a bit rough, with some weird physics and a system that just feels like it's cheating you more often than not, it never pays off to put more time in and never feels truly engaging. This is about the time where Doxy brings up Elements, a card game she's been playing that seems to play against you in the wrong ways - drawing the exact cards you don't need. Moving on Joe also played Skylanders Superchargers, a baby game he thought, but it took him back to golden days of sitting cross-legged on the floor...and then he actually did that. Wayne is hosting a solo show today so that Ken can go earn some monies. Wayne and Lt. Fork spend the last week experiencing all of the great music that hit the Denver area. For all of the geeks out there, they checked out Weird Al, who put on an amazing show. Fork and Wayne continued their musical extravaganza with Riot Fest, a festival of over 80 bands playing all weekend. Some of the big names that Wayne witnessed were De La Soul, Anthrax, Iggy Pop, Ice Cube, System of a Down, Run DMC, Rancid, Tenacious D, Snoop Dogg, and more. They survived the dust, heat, and circle mosh pits to have one of the best musical experiences they could hope to have. Outside of the musical saturation, Wayne took some time to check out the betas for Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Ark: Evolved. The team comes together for one last podcast before PAX Prime and this one is a doozy. They kick things off with some Super Mario Maker talk and David finally cracking and deciding he'll open some of his amiibos. David and Mat have been playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops III beta, Myles has been suffering through Dark Souls, and Joe is up to his neck in Metal Gear Solid. And in celebration (sort of) of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain coming out next week, they have a long conversation about Metal Gear Solid, mostly sticking to Big Boss and his life of hijinks and fun.
