ParkourSC is transforming supply chain management with its dynamic decision intelligence platform, raising $90 million to tackle the industry's most pressing challenges. In this episode of Category Visionaries, we sat down with Mahesh Veerina, a four-time entrepreneur with multiple successful exits, to explore how ParkourSC is creating a new category focused on unlocking trapped value in fragmented supply chain systems. From his early success taking Ramp Networks public in 1999 to his current mission revolutionizing pharmaceutical supply chains, Mahesh shares invaluable insights on building category-defining companies. Topics Discussed: Mahesh's entrepreneurial journey through three successful exits including an IPO How ParkourSC pivoted from IoT sensors to supply chain intelligence The pandemic's role in accelerating supply chain visibility as a critical business need Why life sciences and pharma presented the perfect initial market Creating the "dynamic decision intelligence" category in supply chain technology Building a platform that integrates fragmented enterprise systems with real-time data The strategy for partnering with innovative "change agents" within large companies How ParkourSC's technology reduces supply chain planner "noise" by 50-60% GTM Lessons For B2B Founders: Market conditions can validate your vision: Supply chains were "back office" until COVID put them in the spotlight. Mahesh explains, "Any channel you switch on, it's supply chain—running out of milk and bread and essentials." This external validation can accelerate market acceptance of your solution. Find the value unlock through adjacent innovation: Rather than replacing existing systems, identify where trapped value exists. Mahesh notes, "Companies spend billions of dollars building their ERP systems... We are a category coming either as adjacency or sitting on top of some of these systems to unlock value." This approach reduces friction to adoption. Target industries with regulatory pressure and high-value problems: ParkourSC chose pharma/life sciences because it's "heavily regulated" with "$35 billion worth of product lost yearly to expirations and cold chain issues." Regulatory compliance and high-dollar waste create urgent problems worth solving. Co-create with innovative customers: Mahesh advises finding "innovators" within large companies who want to be change agents. "These are the early adopters that take bets... They bring a problem, give you a sandbox to play in." One such customer partner even became ParkourSC's Chief Strategy Officer. Expand from a narrow solution to platform vision: Start with solving one specific problem exceptionally well. Mahesh shares, "We got into the logistics, cold chain logistics... but very quickly found within these organizations it's great value but very narrow problem." They expanded systematically from logistics to operations, planning, and inventory—"the mother of all there, that's where all the money is stuck." // Sponsors: Front Lines — We help B2B tech companies launch, manage, and grow podcasts that drive demand, awareness, and thought leadership. www.FrontLines.io The Global Talent Co. — We help tech startups find, vet, hire, pay, and retain amazing marketing talent that costs 50-70% less than the US & Europe. www.GlobalTalent.co

There are hopes proposed changes to the Foreign Investment Fund will boost our own productivity. The changes will allow new migrants to be taxed on a realisation basis for interests not easily disposable and acquired before coming to New Zealand. Revenue Minister Simon Watts says the legislation for this will likely be introduced in August. Phase One Ventures chief executive Mahesh Muralidhar told Andrew Dickens there are also opportunities to transfer skills from migrants to our entrepreneurs. He says it allows for more Kiwis to start investing and playing a global game, which is the main thing we need to do to be more productive. About Mahesh Guruswamy:Mahesh Guruswamy is a seasoned product development executive who has been in the software development space for over twenty years and has managed teams of varying sizes for over a decade. He is currently the chief technology officer at Kickstarter. Before that, he was an executive running product development teams at Mosaic, Kajabi, and Smartsheet.Mahesh caught the writing bug from his favorite author, Stephen King. He started out writing short stories and eventually discovered that long-form writing was a great medium to share information with product development teams. The essays he wrote over the last few years culminated in his first book "How to Deliver Bad News and Get Away With It" which is out now for purchase here: https://www.amazon.com/How-Deliver-Bad-News-Away/dp/B0D7FHTTNNIn this episode, Jennie Bellinger and Mahesh Guruswamy discuss:Transparency in delivering bad newsFrameworks for delivering critical feedbackImportance of understanding recipient's personalityBalance between business skills and people skills in leadershipCreating a common language and culture within teamsKey Takeaways:Being upfront and keeping customers/employees informed goes a long way in managing expectations and maintaining trust, even in difficult situations. The approach to delivering critical feedback should be tailored to the specific context and recipient. When providing critical feedback to superiors, it's important to be mentally prepared for potential backlash or even job loss, and Mahesh advises being ready to handle the worst-case scenario, as the benefits of having the difficult conversation often outweigh the risks.Incorporating a more people-centric approach can lead to better long-term outcomes.Establishing behavioral tenets or principles that guide team interactions can create a unifying framework for resolving conflicts and improving communication. The inspiring journey of Mahesh Salvi is truly impactful and motivational. From his early days, delivering milk and newspapers while walking around Goregaon, he built strength and endurance naturally. Climbing up and down at least 40-45 buildings every day gradually became a part of his life. Running for survival became a part of his lifestyle. In 2004, when he accidentally registered for the full 42 km instead of the 21 km in the first Tata Marathon, it marked a turning point in his life. Since then, he hasn't missed a single marathon in the past 20 years. Along with that, he participated in numerous marathons across the country alongside Milind Soman. His 1500 km stretch from Delhi to Mumbai was completed in 28 days, which was recognized by the Limca Book of World Records. What's particularly remarkable is that he managed all this while continuing his job at Kesari Tours. This entire journey was shared by Mahesh Salvi in a conversation with Aditya Joshi from Sports Katta.

Co-hosts Connor and Mahesh discuss the rapidly evolving world of DePIN and the broader implications for the crypto sector. They discuss whether they should be concerned about the proliferation of projects labeling themselves as DePIN and whether it's time to create more specific subcategories within the sector. Connor shares insights from a recent real-world DePIN event hosted by IoTeX, highlighting the excitement and attendance that reflects the growing interest in this space. They explore the current landscape, noting that while the number of projects is booming, the quality of founders entering the space is becoming more varied. This shift is reminiscent of the early days of DeFi, where the barrier to entry lowered, leading to a surge of new projects. They also touch on the importance of maintaining a big tent approach for the DePIN community, allowing for inclusivity and self-definition among founders. As DePIN transitions from subculture to pop culture, they recognize the need for a unified term like DePIN to attract attention and investment. The conversation shifts to the physical versus digital aspects of DePIN projects, with a debate on the merits of hardware-based solutions versus software-centric models. They agree that both have their advantages and that the future will likely see a blend of both approaches. Finally, they discuss the upcoming election and its potential impact on the crypto landscape. While there are concerns about the political climate, they remain optimistic about the future of DePIN and crypto as a whole, emphasizing the importance of innovation and community support. 00:00 - Introduction 00:26 - Sponsor Message: Polygon Labs 00:45 - The Boom of DePIN 02:08 - Quality and Quantity in DePIN Projects 03:34 - DePIN's Transition from Subculture to Pop Culture 04:05 - IoTeX's Real World DePIN Event 05:30 - DePIN Terminology 07:56 - The Big Tent Philosophy10:03 - Physical vs. Digital DePIN 15:07 - Market Dynamics and Token Launches 16:10 - Election Concerns and Market Impact 17:32 - Political Predictions and Crypto 20:52 - The Future of Governance and Crypto
Connor had the pleasure of speaking with Shaan Chaudhari, his college friend and Chief Growth Officer at XNET. They reminisce about their early days in the DePIN space, particularly during the challenging bear market when investor interest was low and token prices were down. Shaan shared his journey and his pivot from potentially attending dental school to fully committing to the crypto industry, motivated by PoC co-hosts Sal and Mahesh, who encouraged him to take risks while he was young. They discussed the importance of community building in crypto, especially during tough times. Shaan emphasized that showing conviction and leadership is crucial for inspiring others to join you on the journey, regardless of market conditions. He highlighted the sacrifices made by founders and the need for authenticity when reaching out to industry leaders, especially for newcomers looking to break into the space. As they wrapped up, Shaan reflected on the growth of the DePIN community over the past few years and expressed excitement for the future. 00:00 - Introduction 00:36 - Taking Risks in Your Career 01:59 - The Excitement of DePIN 02:51 - Lessons from the Bear Market 03:44 - Building a Convicted Community 04:34 - Advice for Newcomers to Crypto 06:04 - Reflections and Future Outlook Disclaimer: The hosts and the firms they represent may hold stakes in the companies mentioned in this podcast. One Kiwi investor believes more New Zealand businesses should be putting money aside in order to expand internationally. Phase One CEO Mahesh Muralidhar says this would boost the nation's GDP and add to the economy. He says Kiwis have plenty of entrepreneurial ability - but they lack the ability to see scale like their international counterparts. "The same entrepreneur, the same university student in the US or in India has the same level of skills as anyone in New Zealand - but they see scale and we don't. We have to go out of our way to start thinking globally from day one." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Oracle's Expanding Multi-Cloud StrategyThe Big Themes:Oracle's unique cloud architecture: Oracle's differentiated cloud architecture offers customers flexibility across different environments, whether public, private, or government. This hybrid architecture ensures that customers can deploy the same services whether they need an on-premises solution, a fully isolated cloud region, or a multi-cloud setup. Oracle's approach also addresses the specific needs of regulated industries, like finance or healthcare.Global expansion and investments: Oracle is heavily investing in expanding its cloud infrastructure across the globe, including in emerging markets like Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Latin America. These investments aim to meet growing local demands for cloud services while enhancing Oracle's global footprint. By establishing more localized data centers, Oracle can reduce latency for customers, ensure data sovereignty, and cater to regional regulatory requirements.Multi-cloud partnerships: Oracle's partnerships with major cloud providers like Microsoft, Google Cloud, and AWS represent a shift in the cloud industry, as it was previously unheard of for these companies to collaborate. Oracle recognized early on that customers were using multi-cloud strategies, so it adapted by integrating with these other platforms. Its willingness to collaborate with competitors reflects its commitment to answering customers' needs. The Big Quote: “It is very clear that customers drive our strategy . . . Oracle is kicking this multi-cloud era forward, an open era, if you will."
We have unlocked the full and unedited subscriber version of episode eight which we released on September 05 for Premium subscribers of The Ken on The Ken's app and on Apple Podcasts.School education is a fundamental right in India. An average Indian child spends 10-12 years in schools. And for most parents and families, the money they spend on educating their child is one of the largest over time. And yet, school education is slowly becoming (or perhaps being made) irrelevant in the next step that comes after that: college. The schools-exams-college “chain” is broken. Perhaps because it is now the schools-private-coaching-exams-college chain. And your school education is not going to cut it for you to make the cutoff as millions line up to clear the exam every year.Private coaching is how you manage to get into the school and your actual schooling is just a condition you have to fulfil to sit in for the exam. It plays no part in preparing you for the entrance exam.Private coaching, estimated to be a $25 billion industry by 2025, is becoming the determinant of a good quality education. Not schooling. Thus, as entrance exams get centralized, and private coaching becomes the most reliable way to clear them, the results are only accentuating numerous privileges and biases, including central boards like ICSE/CBSE, bigger cities, boys, and families with higher incomes.12 years of schooling – one of the biggest spends for families – is becoming disconnected from college education and jobs. And to discuss this, hosts Rohin Dharmakumar and Praveen Gopal Krishnan were joined by three guests.Maheshwer Peri, the founder and CEO of Careers 360, a company that helps hundreds of millions of students each explore career plans. Mahesh has been an investment banker with SBI Capital Markets, then was with the Outlook group for 17 years, including heading it for more than 10 years.Sumeet Mehta, Co-founder and CEO, LEAD Group. LEAD Group offers school edtech solutions across 8000 schools in India, which in turn touch 3.5 million+ students.Nitin Pai, our third guest and the co-founder and director of the Takshashila Institution, an independent think tank and school of public policy based in Bengaluru.Additional references:How fair are entrance exams?Welcome to episode eight of Two by Two, The Ken's weekly podcast that asks the most interesting and often uncomfortable questions on topics we all want to know more about. In this episode, Mahesh sits down with Rushi Manche, the founder of Movement Labs, to explore the dynamic world of decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) and the Move programming language. The conversation begins with a look at the innovative work of the Solana team, particularly the unexpected success of the Solana Saga phone, which has piqued interest in Web3 products. Rushi offers his insights on how DePIN is disrupting industries typically controlled by a few large authorities, such as energy grids and telecommunications, by decentralizing control and enabling broader participation. As the DePIN Summit approaches, Rushi shares his excitement about the growing number of projects in the space. He notes that, while DePIN currently represents only 7% of the altcoin market cap, its potential to transform trillion-dollar industries is substantial. The discussion also covers the critical issue of security in blockchain, with Rushi reflecting on the billions lost to hacks each year and how Movement Labs is working to enhance blockchain security and accessibility. Rushi underscores the importance of innovation and experimentation in the crypto world, especially for younger founders entering the space. He shares his own journey, emphasizing the value of mentorship and community support in navigating the challenges of building during a bear market. The future of the Move programming language and its wide range of applications, from decentralized GPUs to novel projects like sentiment-based memory bracelets, is also explored. Rushi's vision for Movement Labs is clear: to build a decentralized ecosystem that empowers users and fosters real-world blockchain applications. 00:00 - Introduction 00:51 - Introducing Rushi from Movement Labs 01:26 - Understanding DePIN 03:30 - Mentorship in Crypto 04:54 - Building in a Bear Market 06:20 - Focus on Move Programming Language 08:25 - Security in Blockchain 09:08 - Making Security Attractive 10:48 - User Identity and Data Security 12:46 - DePIN's Role in Security 15:17 - Catalysts for DePIN's Growth 16:57 - Decentralization and User Experience 19:22 - Use Cases for Movement Disclaimer: The hosts and the firms they represent may hold stakes in the companies mentioned in this podcast. How to Trade Stocks and Options Podcast by 10minutestocktrader.com
Welcome back to the OVTLYR Trading Room! In today's session, we're tackling a mix of technical hiccups and market trends, keeping our focus sharp on some interesting stocks. We're analyzing Citibank (C), Etsy (ETSY), JPMorgan (JPM), and XLF today, so let's dive right into the juicy details. Today's star is Etsy (ETSY), catching our eye with a solid 6.93% positive signal—looks like there's potential for more downside action here. General Motors (GM) and Nike (NKE) also popped up on our radar with possible bearish trends, but they didn't quite meet our trade criteria. As always, our strategy is all about alignment—making sure short-term, intermediate, and long-term trends agree before we make a move. Across the sectors, it's mostly bearish vibes except for real estate and staples. It's all about keeping that discipline and patience, crucial for navigating these choppy markets. Highlights of Key Stocks: Citibank (C) had some movements but didn't hit our trading criteria. Etsy (ETSY) presented a clear downtrend, dropping 11% from July to now, signaling more potential for shorts. JPMorgan (JPM) and XLF are on our watch list, but today wasn't their day for action. General Motors (GM) showed signs of weakness, but it wasn't enough for a green light on shorts. Nike (NKE) stayed neutral today, so we held off on any trades. Space (SPCE) showed a strong downtrend with a recent sell signal, which could be something to watch closely. We're strict about our rules here—analyzing the 10, 20, and 50-period moving averages to make sure everything lines up perfectly before we dive into a trade. Today was a bit bumpy with a few tech issues on the platform, but that's just part of the game. The session was filled with patience, waiting for those perfect setups and ensuring all signals align. Although we had some tech glitches with OVTLYR today, we didn't let that throw us off. We stayed tuned to the market's pulse, patiently waiting for the right trading opportunities. Mahesh is on top of the platform updates, which should enhance its performance even more. This session is a great reminder for all traders about the importance of discipline and market awareness. Markets can be unpredictable, and staying patient can really pay off. Remember, not every day is full of action, and sometimes, watching and waiting is just as important as trading. For anyone keen on following structured, rule-based trading strategies, today's session was packed with insights. And hey, keep an eye out for updates from Mahesh—more live trading insights are on the way to make your trading experience even better. #StockMarket #TradingStrategy #DayTrading #ShortSelling #TechnicalAnalysis #Citibank #EtsyStock #JPMorgan #GeneralMotors #NikeStock #SPCE #XLF #BearishTrends #Investing #StockTrader #OVTLYR #SmartTrading #ProfitHacking

Dear Listeners,Next week, Puliyabaazi will reach the milestone of 250 episodes. So far, we have had conversations on various topics in politics, public policy, and technology. We had many discussions on Indian languages and culture. However, we have rarely discussed literature in any language—the closest we may have come to discussing poetry was in our episode with Amit Basole on the Bhakti Movement.Today's topic is unique because it combines two unusual themes on Puliyabaazi—love poetry and Sanskrit! Ahem, who would have thunk! But of course, no topic is barred from Puliyabaazi. Often, we carry many notions about India's ancient literary languages like Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Apabhramsha. We think of Sanskrit only as a language of scriptures, forgetting that the king of all rasās in Sanskrit literature is śṛṅgāra, the rasā of love. We often fall prey to assumptions and lazy thinking about the norms and cultures of the people in the past. So, we spoke with two Sanskrit scholars who have read and studied the language extensively. We learn about the unique features of Sanskrit that lend it to sophisticated jugglery of words. We learn about the poets and the audiences of these verses. We find out what was scandalous? What was not? So sit back and hit that play button right now! We discuss:* Unique features of Sanskrit * Was Prakrit the language of streets?* How do we date these verses?* How were monks writing love poetry?* Mature themes in Sanskrit poetry* The process of curation and translation* What makes the jugglery of words possible in Sanskrit?* Sanskrit during the Mughal era* Adapting Sanskrit to discuss contemporary issues* Influence of Sanskrit poetry on India's literary cultureRead:How to Love in Sanskrit by Anusha Rao and Suhas MaheshRelated Puliyabaazi:भारत, एक भाषा संगम। How have Indian languages evolved? ft. What makes for good translations from an old language? For Suhas Mahesh and Anusha Rao – co-editors of How to Love in Sanskrit – it's “a game of compromise”. Rather than fixating on “excessive attention to irrelevant detail”, they focus instead on making words come alive. So a female lament from 2,000 years ago becomes: “Dear God, make him hang out with other women more. He does not seem to realise what a catch I am.”This is a rich conversation about life in general, not just linguistics. We talk about why monks write love poems, the pitfalls of marrying academics, and all sorts of other topics, including:* What to look for when choosing translations.* The extent to which Sanskrit is a living language.* Where to find advice on love beyond the Kāma Sūtra.* Whether some ancient words are untranslatable.* Why Rumi quotes are rarely what they seem.Indian readers can buy the book here – or try here if you're in the U.K., or here in the U.S. You can also email Suhas here and Anusha here if you have any suggestions for future translations – they're already at work on the next compilation.
