Author and researcher Demi Pietchell joins me to unpack the vortex of intrigue that is the world and mind of Elon Musk - including recent dramas involving Twitter and Substack. In her view, 'Musk is not trying to “free the public square.” He's potentially attempting to control it because there are other goals he has that would require him to have control over it in order to best proceed. Balancing this with “public opinion” is secondary. Capturing messenging properties is a mere fraction of the end goal, but it's the one that gets the most press because it's the one which overtly affects the most people in the present...He literally bought the public square and took it private. He can do whatever he wants with it. But it's really just a $44B tiny piece of the puzzle. What happens when we look at these plans in tandem? I'll give you a hint: I suggest that you look at the many companies Elon Musk owns and see them not as separate startups and acquisions but as the interlocking pieces of one interconnected, overarching goal. My Master's degree was in interactive telecommunications, so when I see the properties he has amassed, my mind sees an obvious trail of connected dots among them which creates a slippery slope that I couldn't possibly ignore while standing in my integrity. For instance, if you're seeing this clearly, you might have some understandable reservations about a future which may include a social credit based Twitter platform integration connected to Starlink constellations via Neuralink, which could hypothetically control your nervous system to render you immobile or trigger your self-driving car not to start or to drive itself over a cliff if your social credit score drops too low. This is one of many potential dystopian nightmare scenarios which honestly might be more dangerous than Facebook/Meta/F8, Instagram, Tiktok, and Google Lambda combined.' Don't miss Demi's insights here on a subject affecting us all. Full episode available at Truthiversity.com Special Guest: Demi Pietchell.

YOUR VOTE doesn’t really matter. That’s the lesson of the 2020 election. As we await the outcome of the legal challenges by President Trump to election results in key states, we dig into our archives for an interview recorded in 2006 that illustrates that the irregularities witnessed a few weeks ago are nothing new—and may, in fact, be features of the machines. Just after the 2006 midterm election, I interviewed Bev Harris, founder of Black Box Voting (www.blackboxvoting.org). She’s the author of the Book Black Box Voting, which is available online to read for free. She explained why the odd voting results we normally associate with places like Venezuela and North Korea happen here in the United States.

1529 FBF: Electronic Voting Machine Vulnerabilities with Bev Harris of HBO’s ‘Hacking Democracy’ Documentary This episode of Flashback Friday was initially published: October 19, 2012 With the November Presidential election right around the corner, nothing could be more timely or more important than understanding the electronic voting system and the risk to our right for a fair and honest voting system. Jason Hartman interviews Black Box Voting founder, Bev Harris, who was featured in the HBO documentary, “Hacking Democracy,” and has been researching and writing on the subject of electronic voting since 2002 after she discovered that U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel had ownership in and had been CEO of the company that built the machines which counted his own votes. Bev shares the seriousness of the situation, explaining that the monopoly on the manufacturing of the machines gives the corporate owners (shareholders) complete control over voting outcomes, and that the structural problems with electronic voting prevent the public from being able to authenticate. Vanity Fair magazine credits Bev Harris with founding the movement to reform electronic voting. Time Magazine calls her book, Black Box Voting, "the bible" of electronic voting. The Boston Globe has referred to her as "the godmother" of the election reform movement. Her articles were among the first to reveal that modern-day voting systems are run by private for-profit corporations, relying on a few cronies for oversight, using a certification system so fundamentally flawed that it allows machines to miscount and lose votes, with hidden back doors that enable "end runs" around the voting system. Bev’s investigations have led some to call her the "Erin Brockovich of elections." (Salon.com) In 2003, just weeks after a stunning electoral upset in Georgia that tipped control of the U.S. Senate, she discovered 40,000 secret voting machine files -- including a set of files called "rob-georgia," containing instructions to replace Georgia's computerized voting files before the election. The files she found contained databases with votes in them and the voting machine programs themselves. She downloaded the files on Jan. 23, 2003 and set them free on the Internet a few months later, where they were studied by scientists and security experts. Bev has since uncovered more about the secret voting systems and made them public, has been served with four cease and desist orders from private manufacturers for releasing information to the public, and was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service Cybercrime Task Force, being hit with a gag order for refusing to turn over information, an action that was dropped after it was exposed by a Seattle reporter. With a voting system that has become divorced from the citizens it serves, Bev founded Black Box Voting, a nonpartisan, non-profit 501c(3) organization to help citizens fight back (http://www.blackboxvoting.org/). We continue our #WhoWeElect series examining the position of Secretary of State. The Secretary of State is an elected office in 35 states and an appointed position in 12 others. Alaska, Hawaii and Utah do not have the statewide position at all. To really understand the role of the elected position you really need to get state specific. In some places it's purely an administrative role but in a lot of the states the Secretary of State is also the chief elections administrator. Secretary Alex Padilla of California and Secretary Denise Merrill of Connecticut share the responsibilities of their respective state roles and Shelby County Tennessee Election Commissioner Bennie Smith joins the conversation to discuss the gaps in our election security. Our Guests: Secretary Denise W. Merrill Elected to her third term as Connecticut's 73rd Secretary of State on November 6, 2018. As Connecticut's chief elections official and business registrar, Merrill has focused on modernizing Connecticut's elections, business services and improving access to public records. Since taking office, she has supported and expanded democratic participation, ensuring that every citizen's rights and privileges are protected and that every vote is counted accurately. Secretary Merrill has worked to expand voter participation through Election Day and online voter registration. She has also improved Connecticut's democratic accountability and integrity with a series of rapid response processes to Election Day problems. As Connecticut's business registrar, Secretary Merrill has made it easier for businesses to interact with the office by increasing online functionality, improving response times and connecting businesses with government resources. Secretary Alex Padillia Sworn in as California Secretary of State on January 5, 2015. He is committed to modernizing the office, increasing voter registration and participation, and strengthening voting rights. Padilla previously served in the California State Senate (2006-2014) where he chaired the Committee on Energy, Utilities, and Communications. Commissioner Bennie Smith Appointed to the Shelby County Tennessee Election Commission in April 2019. He works in analytics and innovation. Smith’s research is credited for uncovering an extraordinarily high-risk tampering mechanism and provides a new method for analyzing questionable election results. That research was part of a proof of concept he developed with Black Box Voting to examine election system vulnerabilities. It is the foundation for the AUDIT USA Ballot Image Project. He is also known for his predictive analytics and proprietary method to forecast turnout. In the fall of 2001, after an eight-month review of 175,000 Florida ballots never counted in the 2000 election, an analysis by the National Opinion Research Center confirmed that Al Gore actually won Florida and should have been President. However, coverage of this report was only a small blip in the corporate media as a much bigger story dominated the news after September 11, 2001. New research compiled by Dr. Dennis Loo with the University of Cal Poly Pomona now shows that extensive manipulation of non-paper-trail voting machines occurred in several states during the 2004 election. The facts are as follows: In 2004 Bush far exceeded the 85% of registered Florida Republican votes that he got in 2000, receiving more than 100% of the registered Republican votes in 47 out of 67 Florida counties, 200% of registered Republicans in 15 counties, and over 300% of registered Republicans in 4 counties. Bush managed these remarkable outcomes despite the fact that his share of the crossover votes by registered Democrats in Florida did not increase over 2000, and he lost ground among registered Independents, dropping 15 points. We also know that Bush "won" Ohio by 51-48%, but statewide results were not matched by the court-supervised hand count of the 147,400 absentee and provisional ballots in which Kerry received 54.46% of the vote. In Cuyahoga County, Ohio the number of recorded votes was more than 93,000 greater than the number of registered voters. More importantly national exit polls showed Kerry winning in 2004. However, It was only in precincts where there were no paper trails on the voting machines that the exit polls ended up being different from the final count. According to Dr. Steve Freeman, a statistician at the University of Pennsylvania, the odds are 250 million to one that the exit polls were wrong by chance. In fact, where the exit polls disagreed with the computerized outcomes the results always favored Bush - another statistical impossibility. . Dennis Loo writes, "A team at the University of California at Berkeley, headed by sociology professor Michael Hout, found a highly suspicious pattern in which Bush received 260,000 more votes in those Florida precincts that used electronic voting machines than past voting patterns would indicate compared to those precincts that used optical scan read votes where past voting patterns held." There is now strong statistical evidence of widespread voting machine manipulation occurring in US elections since 2000. Coverage of the fraud has been reported in independent media and various websites. The information is not secret. But it certainly seems to be a taboo subject for the US corporate media. Black Box Voting reported on March 9, 2005 that voting machines used by over 30 million voters were easily hacked by relatively unsophisticated programs and audits of the computers would not show the changes. It is very possible that a small team of hackers could have manipulated the 2004 and earlier elections in various locations throughout the United States. Irregularities in the vote counts certainly indicate that something beyond chance occurrences has been happening in recent elections. That a special interest group might try to cheat on an election in the United States is nothing new. Historians tell us how local political machines from both major parties have in the past used methods of double counting, ballot box stuffing, poll taxes and registration manipulation to affect elections. In the computer age, however, election fraud can occur externally without local precinct administrators having any awareness of the manipulations - and the fraud can be extensive enough to change the outcome of an entire national election. There is little doubt key Democrats know that votes in 2004 and earlier elections were stolen. The fact that few in Congress are complaining about fraud is an indication of the totality to which both parties accept the status quo of a money based elections system. Neither party wants to further undermine public confidence in the American "democratic" process (over 80 millions eligible voters refused to vote in 2004). Instead we will likely see the quiet passing of legislation that will correct the most blatant problems. Future elections in the US will continue as an equal opportunity for both parties to maintain a national democratic charade in which money counts more than truth. Peter Phillips

This week Visibility 9-11 welcomes elections investigator and former Associate Director of BlackBoxVoting.org Kathleen Wynne. Kathleen appears in a new Emmy nominated documentary titled Hacking Democracy and is one of 11 experts who where were asked to write a chapter in the book Hacked - High Tech Election Theft in America. My guest has worked tirelessly on the issue of election fraud and against the implementation of electronic voting machines to steal elections. Kathleen has been a big advocate of Hand Counted Paper Ballots as the only way we can keep the cancer of voter fraud to a minimum and protect our elections against the danger of the electronic voting machines.
