In this episode of The CricBlog Podcast, Charbel Coorey (Australia fan) and Nash Sant (India fan) discuss Pakistan's incredible 2-1 ODI series win in Australia. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain were far too good for an Australian team that was well off the pace in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. We also look at the controversy around the 2025 Champions Trophy. India have reportedly made it clear they won't be travelling to Pakistan. Should they be excluded from the tournament? Or would that be financial suicide? We also touch on India vs South Africa T20I series, where the Proteas won the second T20I thanks to a fine bowling performance and excellent 47* by Tristan Stubbs. Did India get things wrong tactically there? Plus, Nathan McSweeney has been confirmed as Australia's Test opener! Is this the right call? Should Marcus Harris, Cameron Bancroft or Sam Konstas have been picked instead?
The race for the opening spot in the Australian Test team for the summer is heating up with contenders Marcus Harris, Sam Konstas, Cameron Bancroft and Nathan McSweeney all playing for Australia A against India A in Mackay. Everyone has their own opinion, and Mike Hussey says it often comes down to state based allegiances. Mr Cricket himself is backing fellow West Australian Cameron Bancroft.

Why did Steve Smith abandon the openers slot? It depends on who you ask. Smith says his teammates 'hated him up top'. Selector George Bailey reckons Smith indicated he wanted to move to number four. Coach Andrew McDonald indicated it was he and Pat Cummins who drove it. It's a fascinating subplot that has resulted in rolling auditions for the vacant slot. Alex Malcolm joins us to unpack the Smith conundrum and help us understand who might come next. Featured: Alex Malcolm, cricket analyst, ESPN Cricinfo.Subscribe to the ABC Sport Newsletter

In this episode of the show, Baldy, Binksy and Stu look back at the Australia v Pakistan Test series, as well as the Black Caps white ball squad to face Pakistan with one eye on the T20 World Cup later in the year.David Warner's long farewell to Test cricket came to a conclusion with at least some parts of the fairytale playing out as scripted at the SCG, but what now? Baldy's fired up about the decision to move Steve Smith to the top of the order and the omission of Cameron Bancroft, but aren't we headed for another Test series sweep as the West Indies begin their Australian tour? There's praise for Aamer Jamal, Shan Masood and the Australian pace trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, plus we try to unpack why the Aussies are so dominant on home soil.As we return to New Zealand, we discuss the Black Caps' T20 squad to face Pakistan, which has a much more experienced look to it than the recent series against Bangladesh. Will that lead to more convincing performances on the field? And what questions are still to be answered in the coming months as Gary Stead and the selectors look ahead to the T20 World Cup in June? There's mentions for Super Smash standouts like Nathan Smith and Tim Robinson, discussion about where Finn Allen and Rachin Ravindra currently fit in the Black Caps' T20 plans, plus Binksy's food and beverage recommendations for Eden Park. Despite labelling David Warner as one of the greats of Australian cricket, David Hussey says Marcus Harris or Cameron Bancroft should be opening for Australia.
Cameron Bancroft last played test cricket for Australia over 4 years ago but his prospects of getting a test call up are on the rise. He's the leading run scorer in the Sheffield Shield this season and his form has earned him a call up to the PMs XI to play Pakistan. He's one of a number of players jostling for position to potentially replace David Warner when he retires from Test Cricket. Bancroft (from the batting nets at WA!) talked to Quentin Hull about what it means to be back in contention to get his Baggy Green back, how he has changed as a player and a person through his experiences on the field.

Megan and Wendy review Hallmark Channel's "Coyote Creek Christmas" for this week's bonus Girls Gone Hallmark episode. The movie stars fan-favorite Ryan Paevey and the super-likable Janel Parish. Lots of storylines to unpack in this one and you might be surprised when you hear their rating. GAC Family Controversy We've been talking about GAC Family for several weeks now. In part one of our Countdown to Christmas preview, we talked briefly about what GAC Family is and their mission that "celebrates American culture, lifestyle and heritage with original holiday-themed family-friendly movies and series." Many suggest that "family friendly" means entertainment represented by heterosexual couples only.
