Paul breaks off mid-sentence in the beginning of chapter 3 to recap and marvel over a profound revelation. This is Good News...perhaps we dont realize how good. At the center of this text lies a great, deep mystery (the word mystery is repeated three times): a mystery reserved for the body of Christ - His Church. CD 1520 Rooting out Rocks on Christmas DayWhy does mankind want religion instead of a relationship? People start and build church buildings but leave out the One who's is building the true and everlasting Body of Christ His Church! The root word of Christmas is of course Christ, without Christ there is no Christmas! Jesus came to purchase us with His Blood, to demonstrate and reveal God's love for us. Truly, the very purpose of the birth of Jesus is to leave no doubt that God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) loves this world!Hold up a planter with a little pine tree in one hand and a pine board in the other and ask the people what's the difference between these two?One is alive the other is dead for it has no root! Is Jesus your root this Christmas morning 2022?*Matthew 15:13 KJVSBut he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.Close your eyes and agree with me in prayer. Father God in Jesus's name open our spiritual eyes and let us see every rock of the flesh and the world that is squeezing out the ROOT of Jesus. The rocks of pride and passion, of self and sin and the like I repent of and replace with the ROOT of Jesus now. With that being said open your Bibles to:*Text:*Colossians 2:6-7 KJVSAs ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: [7] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Isaiah 11:1-5 KJVSAnd there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: [2] And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord ; [3] And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord : and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: [4] But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. [5] And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.Verse 3Are you worried or worshipping? Are you blessed or bored?Verse4Don't let the devil turn my opportunities into obstacles! You can't have comfort without corrections!*Isaiah 53:1-6 KJVSWho hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? [2] For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. [3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.Let the Holy Spirit take the rocks out of your life and the ROOT of Jesus come in....*Romans 15:12-13 KJVSAnd again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. [13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Will you release the power or the problem?*Matthew 13:18-21 KJVSHear ye therefore the parable of the sower. Online Pastor, Emma Gray, continues the series Christ, His Church and His Cause, sharing on Acts 15:1-35. 1) It's NEVER Jesus plus... 2) It's a HEART issue. 3) What to do with DIFFICULT DECISIONS. 4) Living in HARMONY. 5) CONFLICT RESOLUTION done well. Emma shared that - the beauty of the Gospel is that you are not the potter. God is the potter and He can shape your heart into anything beautiful - you just need to offer it to Him and He will begin the shaping process because He can make ALL things beautiful.
We remained focused on the nurturing of the sheep by the Shepherd. Which God said He was going to feed His sheep, in which we referenced Jesus doing for the body of Christ -His Church-, the called-out ones, in which they are feed the word of God. As the true Shepherd He truly nurtures them, with all maternal or should I say paternal care one could receive. The tenderness with which He lavishes upon them shows that love, that lays down His life for the sheep.

Today, Sunday August 15 Connecting People to Christ, His Church and His Call 2 Peter 1:8-11 “For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Today, I will be preaching my last message as senior pastor of Rainbow Forest Baptist Church in both of our morning services. My text will be from 2 Peter 1, where the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Peter was reminding us “that God, by His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” (2 Peter 1:3) Then Peter goes on to tell us how we need to be diligent to add to our faith, virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly love! (2 Peter 1:5-7) Peter would also say that he knew his time was short and these basically are his last words. (2 Peter 1:14-15) I have a burden today, as Peter did, to share something, that we need to be reminded of every day, as we walk through this journey of life. Sunday, August 29, will be my last Sunday as pastor of this wonderful church fellowship and Edith and I will begin a new season and chapter of our lives. By God's grace, I will continue to do what I've been doing for the last 50 years, but not as a senior pastor. My mission every day, has always been and will continue to be, connecting the disconnected to Jesus Christ, then connect them to His Community of believers which is His Church, and then connect them to the call of God on their lives. I believe this should be the mission and goal of every believer for the glory of God. I will continue do a daily “Pastor's Chat” from God's Word to accomplish this mission. You can also learn more about the various ways I will continue to minister through Pastor Mike Impact Ministries by going to our website at https://www.pmiministries.org/ I covet your continued prayers and support in the years to come as we look forward to the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! God bless!

In today's podcast we get political! The 2020 election is a week away and we want to take some time to discuss the current climate of politics in the country and how it has invaded so much of our lives. Unfortunately this "team politics" has even invaded the body of Christ - His Church. We'll wade in to these waters a bit today with David and Bobby and call ourselves and the Church to something higher. Jesus tells in Matthew chapter 22 that we are to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" and to "love your neighbor as yourself". Let us remember that above all else as we participate in the voting process this November.
In this audio recording from the first live session of Burning Questions 2020, Rob Emmons, Will Jackson, Katelin James, and Joel Smith discuss the challenges and opportunities of Christian engagement with culture by addressing hot topics such as the legalization of marijuana and patronage to companies that support Planned Parenthood.
This week San rounds off our ELEMENTS series on what it looks like being a church family. This last section of our values is really the context in which all the 3 E’s should be worked out in. The bible is abundantly clear that your discipleship journey is not supposed to be walked out just you and Jesus. It is absolutely true that we are each called individually by name but we are saved into a family, the body of Christ - His Church. So this means that the journey into maturity is not purely an individual one; the question is not only “who am I becoming?” but also “who are we becoming?” None of us is going to reach the fullness of Jesus without other people in our lives and God's plan has always been for individual sons and daughters to be built together into something beautiful - his church.

Did you know God gives a special blessing to those who study the book of Revelation? In Part 1 of our new series Pastor Chad explains the foundational truths of why the book of Revelation was written.
In Jesus, truth was embodied. He did not merely speak the truth; He was the truth. He did not come to simply tell the world about God; He came as God. So it is with His people. We speak the truth of the gospel with our lips. We show the glory of the gospel by the manner in which we live life-on-life together on mission as His church. #ChurchSeries #JICC2019

Have you been heart-broken after trying again and again? Pastor Marcus shows us how we can get back to being in love with the bride of Christ- His Church.
