When his authority is questioned, Jesus offers a counter question to the chief priests, scribes, and elders. (Lectionary #352) May 30, 2026 - Cathedral Rectory - Superior, WI Fr. Andrew Ricci - www.studyprayserve.com
Mark introduced Jesus as the Son of God and Israel's Messiah (see v. 1), who proclaimed His purpose to establish the kingdom of God (see v. 15). But such claims must be substantiated by divine authority. So, the author provides three credentials of this Messianic King to prove His office.I. Authority Over Dispassion (vv. 21-22)II. Authority Over Demons (vv. 23-28)III. We spent years in Matthew. And it ends here — not with a theology lecture, but with eleven doubting disciples on a mountain, a risen Jesus who doesn't rebuke them, and a commission that changed the world.STUDY GUIDE: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nkkLG3gMG6BC7PHbM8Lm9NHdX0VMDQr6/view?usp=share_linkMatthew 28:16–20 is the final exhale of the greatest story ever told. And the thing that hits hardest isn't the Great Commission itself — it's who Jesus gives it to. Doubters. Men who walked with Him for three years, watched Him die, heard the women say He was alive, and still showed up to that mountain unsure of what they were even looking at.And Jesus says: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go.In this episode we ask the question nobody wants to sit with — what is doubt actually costing you? Not just spiritually. In your marriage, your calling, your obedience, your worship. Because doubt isn't neutral. If doubt takes root, death still reigns. Whatever you're doubting God about — that thing has taken the throne. And the only cure isn't more effort. It's looking at the authority of Christ and saying to everything else: you're not my dad.We also get into the Trinity — why Jesus is equal in divinity but subordinate in function, what it means that a human being is seated on the throne right now, and why the resurrection is the proof that the one with all authority over your life actually loves you and wasn't forced. We close with the commission: Go. Baptize. Make disciples. Teach. And the promise underneath all of it — I am with you always, to the end of the age. This is the end of Matthew. And it's just the beginning.

Tbe Authority of Christ – Bill Vasilakis
February 22, 2026 | Derek Jones
Preached on Sunday the 15th of February, 2026.Luke 8:26-39 “Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. When Jesus had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house but among the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.” For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.) Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him. And they begged him not to command them to depart into the abyss. Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned. When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been healed. Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.”Intro Music by Julius H. from Pixabay Outro Music by PianoAmor from Pixabay

The Authority of Christ Christ at the Center Pastor Danny Unterkofler
The Profound Power of Unity and Obedience Join Dr. Edith Davis as she dives into the essential, non-optional nature of unity for the body of Christ. She begins by celebrating God's love for diversity—seen everywhere from tropical rainforests to deserts—and explains that this diversity is a reflection of life at its most prolific. True unity in the Church, she asserts, is found not in conformity, but in universal acceptance of Christ Jesus as both Savior and Lord. This powerful teaching covers critical areas for every believer: -- The Call to Lordship: Not everyone wants Jesus to be their Lord, but obedience to Him is always for our good. -- Checking Your Foundation: Divisiveness, strife, and envy are "works of the enemy," which should prompt a check of one's salvation, as being saved should mean operating in the Fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, meekness, and self-control). -- The True Meaning of Meekness: It is not weakness, but power and authority under submission to the Lord God, Holy Spirit. -- Supernatural Love: We are commanded to love one another, our neighbors, and our enemies—a feat that is supernatural and requires the power of the Holy Spirit. -- The Example of Stephen: The first martyr's prayer for his persecutors led directly to the conversion and mighty ministry of Saul (Paul) of Tarsus, demonstrating the powerful consequences of obedience and love. -- Walking in Authority: As sons and daughters of the King, believers have been given the authority and power to rule and reign and to destroy the works of the enemy, including sickness, disease, lack, and poverty. -- The Necessity of Intimacy: To walk in unity and power, we must prioritize intimacy with Christ Jesus—spending personal time with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to feed our own spirit from the overflow. Dr. Davis concludes with a call to action to walk unified and be about the Father's business, warning that we "cannot afford to be offended, period." Scriptures for Further Study -- Galatians 5:22-23 (Fruits of the Spirit) -- Acts 7:59-60 (Stephen's prayer for his enemies) -- Acts 9:1-22 (The conversion of Saul of Tarsus) -- Proverbs 3:5-6 (Trust in the Lord with all your heart) This is episode 379. +++++++ Check out my new website: https://www.enterthegloryzone.org/ MY AUDIO BOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE You can Divorce Proof Your Marriage by understanding the Secret Keys of Love. We're not just a church. We're a Family. Our Vision is clear, simple, and unique. Our vision is Jesus in you. Our vision is for the people of God to have a faith that holds them. The kind of faith that vanquishes doubt, verifies identity, and voraciously contends for inner peace. A faith that removes the past, clarifies the present, and breathes life into the future. Our vision is the Kingdom of God built within the people of this obscure, yet mighty generation. A kingdom so great that its purpose destroys the common lack of self worth. A kingdom that sharpens the eyes, tenses the muscles, and readies itself for the battle against darkness. A Kingdom that brings purpose and healing to those who have failed more than succeeded, who are sinners more than saints, and who have known more pain than pleasure. Our vision is to challenge the weak and unproductive church of our day. To step beyond those who are religiously immature and search out those who for their love for Christ cannot be offended. Our hope is to raise warriors instead of those who think God only exists to keep bad things from happening. To raise those who know that following Christ means suffering loss yet gaining all things. Our vision is clear, simple, and unique…. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

On this episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we confront the horrific attack at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. The shooter, Robert “Robin” Westman, once walked those same halls as a student. Years of unchecked mental illness and spiritual rebellion ended in bloodshed.America is in denial. We refuse to face the truth: the transgender movement is built on a Satanic lie. No one can change the sex God gave them. Pretending otherwise doesn't heal broken souls, it destroys them and puts others in danger.Christians must speak plainly. Love does not mean affirming sin or confusion. Love means pointing people back to Christ, who alone gives us our identity. Until our nation repents and turns back to God, tragedies like this will only increase.Pray for the victims and their families.--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of the Reformed Brotherhood, Jesse and Tony delve into the topic of demons and spiritual warfare, exploring what the Bible teaches about these spiritual entities and their activity in the world. The conversation begins with an examination of Job 1, where Satan appears in the heavenly court to accuse Job, demonstrating how God's sovereignty encompasses even the actions of the devil and his demons. The discussion emphasizes that while demons are real and dangerous, they operate under the ultimate authority of God, who uses even their actions to fulfill His purposes. The hosts also discuss the role of Christ's death and resurrection in fundamentally altering the influence and power of Satan and his demons. Drawing from Revelation 20, they explain how Christ's victory has “bound” Satan, limiting his ability to deceive the nations and opening the way for the Gospel to spread to all people. This pivotal event in redemptive history marks a shift in the spiritual realm, giving Christians the confidence to stand firm against spiritual opposition, knowing that the ultimate victory has already been won in Christ. Additionally, Jesse and Tony reflect on various Biblical accounts of demonic activity, such as the demoniac at Gennesaret and the failed exorcism by the seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19. These stories highlight the power of Jesus' name, the reality of spiritual warfare, and the dangers of invoking Christ's authority without true faith. The episode concludes with a call to Christians to prepare for spiritual battles through Scripture, prayer, and reliance on the power of Christ. Key Points: The Sovereignty of God Over Demons: The story of Job reveals that even Satan's actions are under God's control, serving His divine purposes. The Binding of Satan: Revelation 20 teaches that Christ's death and resurrection have limited Satan's ability to deceive the nations, enabling the spread of the Gospel. Biblical Accounts of Demonic Activity: Stories like the demoniac at Gennesaret and the seven sons of Sceva illustrate the power and authority of Christ over demons. Practical Lessons for Christians: Believers are called to stand firm in faith, armed with Scripture, and confident in Christ's ultimate victory over evil forces. Questions for Reflection: How does Job 1 demonstrate God's sovereignty over Satan and his actions? What does Revelation 20 teach us about the impact of Christ's resurrection on Satan's power? Why is it important for Christians to rely on true faith and not superficial invocations of Jesus' name in spiritual battles? How can Biblical accounts of demonic activity help us better understand the nature of spiritual warfare today? What practical steps can Christians take to prepare for spiritual opposition?
