Last week Burns and Brido discussed the history of @DadBoner. This week we dove in a little deeper into some of the other background details that were going on while Burns was writing the feed. Burns got stabbed! Plus grooming tips. Video at www.patreon.com/brido.
Mike Burns is back. The best man in Brido's wedding. We know a lot of you are fans of his through the DadBoner Twitter account. I'll say this later, but if you don't know what that is, none of this will make sense. So do a deep dive when you have a chance. But basically Burns created a fictional character named Karl Welzein who lived in Grand Blanc Michigan. Then created an entire narrative and universe of characters and storyline on Twitter. And he did it anonymously for years until an investigative journalist uncovered his identity. Since then there have been book deals and podcasts and TV pilots and documentaries. So today we thought I'd go through the history of that account with Mike Burns. Video and extras are at www.patreon.com/brido

Back with another banger this one with longtime friend and host of the Power Moves podcast Mike Burns. We talk living in states with legal sports gambling, dogecoin, and share notes on leaving LA. We may get a little too insider with how to set up a podcast and how shitty it is auditioning for bullshit commercials we know we're not getting but its fun to show how the sausage is made sometimes. Thanks for all the support and please don't forget to subscribe/rate/review/share and help us start our horse racing empire.

The main interview (029:36) is with Josh Androsky to talk working on the Nithya Raman campaign, the 2020 election, and he convinces me that the only way to change politics is from the bottom up. Enjoy. Video and after-shows are on patreon.com/brido.

Brido never has any real idea what to wear. But his good pal, Mike Burns (Power Moves, @dadboner), has worked in the fashion industry and knows how everything works. They talk about Burns' history with fashion, what's good, what sucks, and what never goes out of style. Eventually Burns explains the difference between style and fashion. And they have a good time. Whatever. You'll learn things. Listen.

In this historic 25th episode Brooks interviews his life partner Mike Burns (AKA @dadboner). This is a special episode because Brooks was party responsible for getting Mike fired one time. Mike's lived a life of trash growing up scamming grocery stores in Michigan before he worked designing baby clothes for over a decade. Brooks and Mike also talk about their shared opinion that if you pay someone minimum wage, they get to steal from you. Learn about @dadboner here: https://totalfratmove.com/the-legend-of-karl-welzein-aka-dadboner/ Check out Brooks' stand up dates here: brookswheelan.com
Brido and Burns talk about @DadBoner, Pee Boners and the CJO Club. Enjoy.
Mike Burns, comedian/writer and creator of @DadBoner joins me for one of my favorite shows yet. We talk a lot about the inspiration for Dad Boner, his slang that’s entered our lexicon, writing his book, going on tour and even some exclusive news on what’s to come for Dad Boner (it’s going to be a TV show!). We also get into how Mike’s drive to be a comedian lead to him getting a divorce (and inspired Dad Boner) and we discuss our shared love of baseball (and notably a crisp new hat).
Mike Burns (@pizzanachos69; @DadBoner; Power Moves: Livin' the American Dream, USA Style) and April Richardson watch the episode of Saved by the Bell where everyone does class projects about their ancestry, and Zack's Native American best friend of two days, Chief Henry, meets an early demise.

Mike Burns came by my apartment during his trip to New York to talk to me about his new book, Power Moves. Burns hasn't been on Skeptic Tank since the old Deathsquad days. He's hilarious and I'm glad he had a chance to come over while he was here for promotions. We talked about Karl Welzein, staring in people's windows in NY, getting stabbed, and meeting girls at bars. You know, normal stuff.
Mike Burns is an LA based comedian, writer & published author. Mike's new book, "Power Moves" is based on a character that he created for Twitter a few years ago (can be purchased at karlwelzein.com). We talk about how Mike conceived of @DadBoner, the Deadspin article that outed Mike as the author, and his brief marriage. We also find out which former Decently Funny guest told the world about @DadBoner, whether or not Mike has gotten laid just because of his popular Twitter account, and what his brand new illness is. Listen to him play a game of "Play it Forward" where he has to match answers with last week's Decently Funny guest, The Simpsons writer/producer Tim Long. We apologize, but it was 95 degrees in LA while we taped the podcast, so you may hear the low hum of the air conditioning in the background but it won't ruin your listening experience. A brief programming note: check out our brand-new website at postmodemcast.com. It's really cool and we made it just for you. In late July we discussed underwear, shorts, shants, knees, jorts, and queefing; The Pre-Taped Call In Show, Junot Díaz, and Seinfeldian second-cousin doppelgängers; Nick Harkaway, John le Carré, and Patrick's classy, magic Twitter interaction with the former; Frank Ocean, Tony Kushner's Angel's In America, Nas, Earl Sweatshirt, and Lil Wayne; Daniel Kahneman, Malcolm Gladwell and Oliver Sacks; the cold fate of bad rapper Pitbull; one man's love of another man's salmon-colored pants; and the official Postmodem uniform: a salmon velour tracksuit. We also gave some shouts out to friends of the show Mark "bobtiki" Boszko and Wolf Rentzsch and Andrew Pontious's show Edge Cases. Oh, and don't forget to check out DadBoner.
