In the early 20th century, the New York Times dubbed French philosopher Henri Bergson as "the most dangerous man in the world." Bergson scared a lot of people in how he brought philosophy to the masses but he also won critical acclaim, receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature and France's highest honor, the Grand-Croix de la Legion d'honneur. Surprisingly, no English language biography exists of him. Until now. This week, Dr. Emily Herring joins in to talk about Bergson's rise to fame, his influence on 20th century thought, and the mysteries behind why he died in relative obscurity. About our guest:Dr. Emily Herring received her PhD from the University of Leeds and is now working as a freelance writer and editor. Donald Wilkie, seasoned entrepreneur, expert in the intricate relationship between government, autonomy, and freedom as well as the author of Freedom Revealed: A Simple Elegant System, joined me to discuss the ideas behind his book and the historical context that led to his discovery of the system of freedom rather than focusing on the philosophy of liberty.Scott Miller, author of THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN WASHINGTON, worked in a rural area of Washington state as a pediatric physician's assistant during the pandemic. He had initial success treating COVID-19 patients using breathing treatments. Word spread, and he became known as the only provider in his area willing to help. He learned early on that sending a patient to the hospital was a death sentence. His troubles began after he spoke at a medical freedom rally at the state capitol in Olympia in May 2020, which resulted in over one hundred fifty complaints against him to the Washington Medical Commission. On October 12, 2021, his license was temporarily suspended because he was accused of spreading misinformation and violating the standard of care. The WMC then asked him to undergo an inpatient neuropsychiatric evaluation and pay them thirty thousand dollars. All because he chose to put patients ahead of the preferred COVID-19 narrative. Cavalcante is an illegal migrant from Brazil who was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend in 2021. He was also accused of murder in 2017 while residing in Brazil. 4:05pm- Listeners weigh-in on escaped prisoner Danelo Cavalcante—as the Pennsylvania state manhunt for him continues into its seventh day. Many Chester County residents express frustration over the way government officials have handled the incident. 4:30pm- On Wednesday, Special Counsel David Weiss spoke with a federal court in Delaware—announcing that he plans to seek an indictment of Hunter Biden on September 29th.
