Are you looking for help, hope, and healing from pornography and sexual addiction? Crystal Renaud Day shares her personal experience with pornography addiction and how her organization--SheRecovery--helps women find fellowship and support from other women all across the world. "If you have a problem with porn or unwanted sexual behavior, and you are experiencing shame, shame does not come from God. Shame is what the enemy speaks. Christ says you are whole, loved, and worthy--worthy to die for. He would never speak shame, condemnation, death, and despair over you. He speaks to you with love, grace, and compassion. Break the chains of shame and go get the help you need." Do you think guys are the only ones that struggle with watching internet porn? Think again! Do you think guys are the only ones that struggle with sex addiction? Think again. Crystal Renaud Day is the founder and director of Dirty Girls Ministry. Crystal became involved with pornography when she was 10 years old... and this led to a porn addiction... and a sex addiction... that lasted for years. Crystal thought she was the only woman who struggled with these issues... because whenever she heard it talked about at church... the message was always geared toward the men. After many years of struggle and shame... Crystal met another woman who had also been a sex addict... but who had found freedom and healing through Christ. When Crystal heard this woman's story... and with this woman's help... Crystal began her journey of hope and healing. Crystal has an amazing story... and she's living proof that God can heal and redeem women who are struggling with porn and sex addiction. When you listen to this episode you might be shocked to learn how many Christian women are struggling with porn and sex addiction. Crystal holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling: Life Coaching from Liberty University and eight certifications in counseling and coaching specialties from the American Association of Christian Counselors. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, ABC News, CNN, Christianity Today, The 700 Club, Outreach Magazine, and more. God has a purpose, a calling for everyone. He has commanded men and women to fill and subdue the earth. To accomplish this, God has given us family. A father, a mother, and the kids all doing their part. God has given each gender certain responsibilities. In the last episode, we learned that God, in the Old Testament, gave women three responsibilities: To birth children, to manage the home, and to be a companion to the man. Today we add another responsibility to that list. Your Takeaway God has called older women to teach younger women how to live a life pleasing to Him. Older Women The word “likewise” links the older men to the older women. Reverent in behavior – Her life is a sacred duty. Not Slanderers – Older women should not use lies to discredit people. Slander is a sin of words or the tongue. Slaves to wine – Drunkenness, and abuse of alcohol was a problem for older women. A Teacher of Good To love their husbands. This is the first priority. Women are to be “devoted” to their husbands. Love their children. After her husband, a mother must love her children. Be discreet. To be self-controlled. It is difficult to manage a home and family if you cannot manage yourself. Be chaste. To be sexually pure. It is impossible to be devoted to a husband if you are not sexually pure. Over 15% of Christian women view pornography every month. Homemaker. To be busy at home. It’s about laziness and idleness, not just location. Kindness. All of this done with kindness. Obedient to their own husbands. “Subject yourselves” Submission is a voluntary response. You submit because God has called you to and to show respect to your husband. Closing Thoughts God has given a great responsibility to older women - the role of mentoring younger women. If you are an older woman you should seek out a young woman to mentor. Build a friendship. Build a relationship. Teach her from your experience. And share Jesus Christ. Teach how she should love her husband, love her kids, and how to live life. But also tell her about sin, the cross, the grave, and the resurrection. Tell her about Jesus. Sign Up & Subscribe Please review, like, and share the podcast.
