Dr. Daniel Ragusa speaks at the Reformed Forum Annual Theology Conference, held at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois on September 27, 2025. Dr. Ragusa, focuses on the dark period of Israel's exile and how it illuminates the deep human longing to return to God's presence, which had been lost due to their rebellion. Dr. Ragusa first establishes the devastating nature of exile by contrasting it with the desired state of dwelling in God's house, a theme illustrated by the pilgrimage described in Psalm 23. He references the Heidelberg Catechism to frame the Christian experience as moving from the "valley of exile" (sin and misery) up to the "mountain of God" (righteousness and everlasting life) through the work of the "mountain ascending mediator," Jesus Christ. Crucially, even in the midst of the exile's darkness, God's hope continues to shine through the prophets, promising restoration, which is ultimately fulfilled in the gospel and glory of Jesus Christ. Want to reach out to us? Want to leave a comment or review? Want to give us a suggestion or berate Anthony? Send us a text by clicking this link! What happens when nations reject Christ as their King? Throughout history, earthly rulers acknowledged a higher spiritual authority, but modern states have reversed this order—with devastating consequences for civilization and faith.Joshua Charles joins Anthony for a profound exploration of Christendom's rise and fall. They unpack Larry Arnn's controversial claim that "a Christian nation is not possible because Jesus' kingdom is not of this world," revealing how this fundamentally misunderstands Catholic teaching about Christ's authority over all creation. The conversation journeys through historical Christianity, where temporal rulers recognized their subordination to spiritual authority for over a millennium. This wasn't mere symbolism—it represented the proper ordering of society, with baptism creating an objective covenant that bound believers and nations alike. We're witnessing the culmination of centuries of spiritual rebellion, from the Reformation's fracturing of unified Christian worship to modern states declaring themselves the highest authority. As Saint Bruno of Cologne predicted, we now live in times where "faith is in secret and iniquity in public"—a telling sign of spiritual deterioration. Most chillingly, recent developments surrounding the Third Temple and red heifer sacrifices echo what Church Fathers warned would precede Antichrist. The discussion examines historical parallels, particularly Julian the Apostate's failed attempt to rebuild the Jewish Temple in 363 AD, and what these events might tell us about our own time.Rather than succumbing to despair, Joshua and Anthony emphasize hope in God's providence. They remind us that while the Church might appear to be losing on earth, her saints are being crowned in heaven, from which they reign with Christ. The conversation concludes with practical spiritual guidance for navigating these challenging times through prayer, fasting, and renewed devotion to the sacraments.Support the show********************************************************Please subscribe! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKsxnv80ByFV4OGvt_kImjQ?sub_confirmation=1https://www.avoidingbabylon.comMerchandise: https://avoiding-babylon-shop.fourthwall.comLocals Community: https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comFull Premium/Locals Shows on Audio Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1987412/subscribeRSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssRumble: https://rumble.com/c/AvoidingBabylon

The fourth covenant God made was with the unlikely king of Israel, King David. Today, we explore what God created kings to do versus what God expected kings to end up doing and God was right. Power corrupts even those near to the heart of God.
Acts: Welcome to our study in the Book of The Acts of the Apostles. To summarize the book of Acts in one sentence: The Kingdom of Israel Fades as the Body of Christ Grows. To say simply that Acts is the story of the beginning of the church is to give a half-truth, for first, God offers the Earthly Kingdom to Israel and when that nation rejects their own risen Messiah, then God cuts off Israel, and grafts in the Body of Christ, replacing the covenant of law with the covenant of Grace. Who were the major Apostles? Jesus chose the 12 Apostles, Peter, James, John and the rest, and as He promised them, they would sit on 12 thrones, and judge the 12 tribes of Israel. On the other hand, for the Body, Paul is the one apostle for the one Body of Christ, and neither Paul, nor the Twelve Apostles, will rule over us, but Christ alone is the head of the body, whereas Israel, as a political entity, as a kingdom, can employ 12 judges. The title of the Book, The Acts of the Apostles, could be focused more precisely. It could be the Acts of the Apostles, Peter and Paul. For most of the Twelve Apostles, Luke the author of this book, mentions only their names, and that, only once. Whereas Peter and Paul are the main actors. In Acts 1 through 8, Peter is the primary actor and through Peter God offers the Kingdom to Israel. In Acts 9, God saves Paul and sends him to the Gentiles and it is only through Paul's ministry that God tells us about the Body of Christ and the dispensation of Grace. As The Acts opens, it's all Peter and then as God cuts off Israel and grafts in the Gentiles in the Body, the story transitions and as Peter fades out, Paul replaces him as the primary actor. The Book of Acts is the story of the transition from Israel to the Body of Christ. Get this entire verse by verse Bible study in four parts. God has always promised a Kingdom on this physical earth that will be ruled by Jesus Christ Himself for a period of 1000 years. In these first three verses of chapter 20, we see God removing a major hindrance to this kingdom by binding Satan in the abyss for the duration of this kingdom. Giving way to what will be known as times of refreshment and a time of peace.

Season 5 Episode 15: The 1,000 Years. Sermon Speaker: The Pastor Summary: In due time, Jesus will finally have an Earthly Kingdom. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/redblondefox/message
Chrsit found the kingdom of the world corrupt.
In today's passage, Jesus shows us what it means to seek the Kingdom of God and challenges us to consider whether we're truly seeking and serving His kingdom or whether we're seeking and serving our own. Seeking the kingdom, according to Jesus, requires sacrificing our own personal kingdom, surrendering control of our throne, and storing up treasures in this life not on earth but in heaven. Sermon Outline of Luke 12:13-34 By Sacrificing your Earthly Kingdom (vv.13-21) By Surrendering your Illusion of Control (vv.21-30) By Storing up your Treasures in Heaven (vv.31-34)

Eugene wrote this letter to Thomas Merton in 1962, the same year he was received into the Orthodox Church after an arduous and painful journey in search of the truth, which he ultimately realized is a person: the Lord Jesus Christ, whose Body is the Holy Orthodox Church. He had been previously inspired by Thomas Merton and his pursuit of the other world, and with pain of heart wrote a letter expressing his concerns, concerns which were later justified by Merton's ultimate abandonment of not only prayerful, ascetic Christianity, but of the uniqueness of Christian truth altogether. The ideas set forth in this letter were written at the same time Eugene was writing his desired magnum opus, The Kingdom of Man and the Kingdom of God, specifically the chapter titled “New Christianity.” Neither this chapter nor the entire book were finished, but in addition to this letter to Merton, what was completed was the chapter on Nihilism, available from St. Herman Press under the title: “Nihilism: the root of the Revolution of the modern age”. Presented here is a reading of Eugene's letter in its entirety, beginning and ending with valuable context from the biography of Fr. Seraphim: “Father Seraphim Rose: His Life and Works” by Hieromonk Damascene, finishing with a quote by Fr. Seraphim from his book “Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future” Introduction: 00:00 Letter to Thomas Merton: 04:52 Conclusion: 44:36 Excerpt from “Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future”: 48:37 Excerpts from Eugene's letter: “The outward Gospel of social idealism is a symptom of this loss of faith.” “The Kingdom is not of this world; to think or hope that Christianity can be outwardly "successful" in the world is a denial of all that Christ and His prophets have said of the future of the Church. Christianity can be "successful" on one condition: that of renouncing (or conveniently forgetting) the true Kingdom and seeking to build up a Kingdom in the world. The "Earthly Kingdom" is precisely the goal of the modern mentality; the building of it is the meaning of the modern age. It is not Christian; as Christians, we know whose Kingdom it is. And what so greatly troubles me is that today Christians—Catholic and Orthodox alike—are themselves joining, often quite unaware of the fact, often with the best possible intentions, in the building of this new Babel....” “When I feed my hungry brother, this is a Christian act and a preaching of the Kingdom that needs no words; it is done for the personal reason that my brother—he who stands before me at this moment—is hungry, and it is a Christian act because my brother is, in some sense, Christ. But if I generalize from this case and embark on a political crusade to abolish the "evil of hunger," that is something entirely different; though individuals who participate in such a crusade may act in a perfectly Christian way, the whole project—and precisely because it is a "project," a thing of human planning—has become wrapped in a kind of cloak of “idealism.”" Orthodox Wisdom is now on your favorite podcast platform! Comparing Natural and Supernatural Things: The Eternal Heavenly Kingdom and Temporary Earthly Kingdom Things including the heavens, the earth (the worlds) and all that is in them. The natural [seen] things originated from the supernatural [unseen] ... [Hebrews 11]. Just as there are natural things, there are also supernatural (spiritual) things. All these things [natural i.e. visible and supernatural i.e. invisible] are in God's creation. The Natural things or realm is linked to the Supernatural/Spiritual realm by FAITH. • The seen natural things are made from the unseen spiritual • The natural things have their origin or come from their spiritual (supernatural) component • The seen things are temporary while the unseen things are REAL and eternal. Many Teachings and Resources are already available at the Bible Learners Ministries Youtube Channel: Discussions on "understanding the supernatural" already published... and more are coming up shortly. What will it be like before Jesus returns to set up His earthly kingdom? The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). Many false prophets will arise and mislead many (Matthew 24:6). Most people's love will grow cold. Lawlessness will increase (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, 6-8). The spirit of lawlessness is at work now, but is restrained by God. As lawlessness increases, love decreases. The hallmark of a Christian is to trust and obey (2 Thessalonians 3:1-16). A life of submission starts with Jesus becoming your Lord and Master. This is how you know you love Him, if you keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome (1 John 2:3-4, 3:22,24; 5:3). Are you saved? Are you ready? Jesus became the sacrificial Lamb of God to save you from eternity without Him. Brother Glenn Graham | Sunday Morning Sermons | November 21, 2021

The Coming Earthly Kingdom Pt 4 Revelation 20 8-10 by Rev. Carl Stokes
Daniel is a great book to study for many reasons. It is expansive in its reach; it is one of the few books written outside of Israel; it is mostly written in Aramaic, the language of the Babylonians. We also have parallel writings of Jeremiah at this time and make this profound. There is imagery and time expanse that goes from 600 plus years before Christ to the future Kingdom set up in the end times, and includes many things in between. We can certainly get insight on how to live in our Babylon - not just survive, but thrive in our Babylon. There is a responsibility that was given to Daniel and to us to be ambassadors, testifying of the Cross and Christ's Kingdom (2 Corinthians 5:20), so that many would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Hostile environments often create emotional reactions or responses from people who are facing them. Daniel faced continuous hostility throughout his time in Babylon. He spent his life enslaved to a culture and laws that could not have been more contrary to what he believed. Yet, we do not see him reacting wildly or negatively. He again and again responded to whatever fiery darts came his way. He was purposeful, humble and confident of His God. He had his priorities aligned and he knew what to pursue, and his life shows his devotion to and worship of the One True God. There is nothing mysterious about Daniel. His is a life bathed in prayer, commitment, and discipline. He expected to hear God, and God spoke powerfully in His life and through His life. Do you think you are living in a hostile culture? Do you think that you are being persecuted for your beliefs? Do you feel hopeless? Lost? Overwhelmed? Are you reacting or are you responding? Allow the Lord to speak into your life today through this amazing book and see what you can look forward to in the future.
Pastor Geoff preaches 8 glorious features of the coming, earthly, millennial Kingdom from Isaiah 35.
Christ, in his ministry, announces the coming of the kingdom of God and in his death and resurrection becomes the King who reigns over his people and establishes his kingdom through Peace.
