On today's Friday edition, we chat with Kristian Stanfill of Passion Music! From its start in 1995 Passion has been rooted in the truth of Isaiah 26:8 – “Yes Lord, walking in the way of Your truth we wait eagerly for You, for Your name and Your renown are the desire of our hearts” - existing to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation. Passion believes that worship and justice go hand in hand, so students arrive ready to give. They give toward the END IT Movement, fighting against modern day slavery and this year Passion also called students to give toward Share Light – a campaign to see the Bible translated into the 6,000 known languages of the world during this generation's lifetime. Passion has encountered millions of students and 18-25 year-olds, young people whose lives have been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. One of the most impactful and stirring aspects of the movement founded by Louie and Shelley Giglio has been the sea of voices uniting together to lift up the name of Jesus. Passion, currently helmed by Kristian Stanfill, Brett Younker and Melodie Malone, has ushered in the writing, recording and leading of some of the most recognizable and unforgettable worship anthems of this generation. Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Crowder, Christy Nockels and more have also lent their voices alongside Passion throughout the years. With more than 2 million units sold and a multitude of chart-topping singles such as “Glorious Day,” “Build My Life,” “God, You're So Good,” “How Great Is Our God,” “God Of This City,” “One Thing Remains,” “Even So Come,” and “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord),” listeners across the world continue to be impacted by the music of Passion. Passion's latest album, 'Call on Heaven', is out now! passionmusic.com @passionmusic christianmusicguys.com @christianmusicguys.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/christianmusicguys/message

On the podcast today I’m chatting with award winning and much beloved author Lynette Eason. Lynette has written over 50 books and her most recent book Collateral Damage is a heart stopping suspense story set in the war in Afghanistan as well as the aftermath of coming home. Lynette portrays real Gospel truths within the pages of entertaining stories. She opens a pathway for great conversation about topics that are difficult to discuss whether you believe in God or not: PTSD, trauma, and the need for help when life is hard. Life is hard in varying degrees to every hear,t everywhere, and it matters and it is good and healthy and God honoring to seek help. No matter how firm your faith, there are things in this world that are hard and broken, and stories like what Lynette writes, display characters that battle things just like us. In that same vein, she crafts characters that display how God uses our strengths as women uniquely and intentionally, whether that is in demanding roles like those in the military, and law enforcement, or in the trenches of walking out your writing calling and Motherhood. Lynette also shares with me her story of how she got started, pressing through rejected manuscripts and I think that’s so important for those of us who are working in the economy of obedience. If it’s what the Lord has called you to, He will make it known. He makes a way where it feels like there is no way. If you want to check out how to connect with Lynette, find ways to purchase her books, or to treasure hunt for a topic that that we allude to in our conversation that’s a huge part of Collateral Damage check out the links below: Resources: Lynn Blackburn Dee Henderson Nancy Drew Hardy Boys Alfred Hitchcock Agatha Christie Knight Agency Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference Love Inspired from Harlequin Lynette’s “Elite Guardian” series Collateral Damage PTSD Bomb Dog Handlers Lynette’s Code of Valor The hidden crime in CD in real life // End It Movement Lynette’s Blue Justice Series Romantic Suspense A-Team **The next book in “Danger Never Sleeps” series that Collateral Damage begins is already available for pre-order! This month of January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. So today on the podcast I'm joined by Jalyn Fawbush of Zera House, a non-profit organization that is on a mission to provide safe haven for women who have been victims of human trafficking. Human Trafficking is defined as the illegal practice of procuring or trading in human beings for the purpose of prostitution, forced labor, or other forms of exploitation. Simply put... it is modern-day slavery. And as of now there are millions of slaves being trafficked around the world, many of whom are women and young children. Now Jalyn, along with Zera House, look to provide a safe home for women who have been victims of this awful crime. Helping them to find healing through counseling, building life skills, job training, and much more. In this episode Jalyn and I take a deeper dive into human trafficking. We talk about how she became active with this issue, and why human trafficking is such a wide-spread criminal enterprise. We also discuss ways that you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe, both at home and while traveling. As well as how you can support victims of human trafficking so that they can find healing. I hope you enjoy this episode and find it insightful. And I ask that you join us in spreading awareness by sharing this episode with your friends and family, so that they can get all of this information too. Thank you! What do we do when we’re pursuing our passions and life suddenly knocks us off our course? This week, we’re going to continue with Troy and Casie from onestepinfaith.org. Troy and Casie found themselves at a screeching halt when their daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and the frequent travels to Ghana suddenly, but temporarily, ceased; however, this did not stop them from pursuing their passions and continuing their journey, it just looks a little different now. If you haven’t yet listened to last week’s conversation, we encourage you to go back and listen to Part 1.
