So much for a break in January eh? Welcome back to Formula E on the Motorsport101 Channel, and for our 2024 Season Preview, we brought in Motion Podcast host Sascha Garlick back to chinwag over the Season 10 that starts this Saturday in Mexico City! In this 2-hour preview, we talk about the big issues for the series off the track - Such as their pre-season testing fire in Valencia and the knock-on effect it'll have on Mahindra. We talk about the upcoming Attack Charge pitstops being added that have been pushed back to Misano in April. There's also a big culture clash incoming as more conventional road courses in Misano and Shanghai are being added to the calendar, with Hyderabad pushed out due to a change of governance. Does the series know what it wants to be? Even more so now it's off free-to-air television in the UK? Then we break down all the runners and riders for 2024. Can the Mahindra teams get off the bottom? Can McLaren find some form with Sam Bird now in the ranks? What about Nissan and the return of Oli Rowland alongside Sasha Fenestraz's proven speed? Can Stellantis make their mark after midfield drama last season? And then the big hitters - Can Porsche's two teams co-exist? And can Envision compete with Jaguar's factory Superteam of Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy now Envision's drivers are focusing on Le Mans? All that and more on Motorsport101!
That's right, the gang is back together! We're joined by Katy Fairman ahead of the new Formula E season which kicks off this week. Why should you watch it? Which new tracks are on the calendar? And how did Tommy nearly crash the new Gen3 car? We've got all the answers. You can sign up to our Patreon here! The Motion E Podcast: https://t.co/okEdrD3rvH We're back for the new year and we're kicking things off with a Gen3, Season 9 Preview of Formula E! And we got a special guest, and that was Mx S Garlick of the Motion E Podcast. Check them out at the link up above! In this 105-minute special, we break down some of the issues that have plagued the series in their Gen3 crossover, from admin issues and a Eurovision reboot, to the format changes and braking issues that could plague the opening round in Mexico this weekend. We also break down the field team-by-team. It's a very different field from before, down from 12 teams to 11, and some exciting new names. McLaren take over where Mercedes left off with Rene Rast returning. Maserati's first single-seater Motorsport adventure in 60 years, and DS and Penske combining their forces into a superteam with Stoffel Vandoorne and Jean-Eric Vergne becoming quite possibly the strongest driver pairing in series history. Only Jaguar are actually keeping their line-up the same, but can Mitch Evans push for a title for the 3rd year running. Are Porsche leaving soon, and can Antonio Felix Da Costa get them into title contention? And just how many struggles is Jake Dennis due? (Outside of that Twitter account) All that and more on the first M101 of 2023! Oh, and don't worry, Dre does discuss that elephant in the room...

(Yes, we know it's a little late, come laugh at our picks at the end instead!) We're about to get into the meat and potatoes of the 2022 Motorsport season, and to bring us up to speed, we're getting into Formula E's 8th season, and 2nd as a World Championship. We discuss the new qualifying format, and how the Groups and Super Bowl format got thrown out for a new, “Duel” system that involves a knockout tournament. We also talk about the newly revamped calendar with some double headers to chuck in there like Diriyah and Seoul! We also go through the teams and preview their chances going into the new season. New debutants such as Antonio Giovinazzi, Dan Ticktum and Oliver Askew. We talk about some of the reshuffles that teams have had, such as Avalanche in life after BMW, or DS Techeetah after a year of relative turmoil. Or Porsche, with renewed focus in their management. And we even make picks as to who we think wins the Championships. Do we go with Mercs as they enter their Last Dance with Nyck and Stoffel? Or maybe Jaguar with Evans and newly extended Bird? Could it be Porsche with Wehrlein or Lotterer? Or even the Venturi team with Mortara or Lucas Di Grassi? Find out in our Season Preview for Formula E, Season 8!

Safe to say, this was a pretty hectic weekend in Motorsport. We recorded this episode the same day it all unfolded, so our feelings were pretty raw. Hope it comes off well. In the episode, we mainly focus around the Austrian Grand Prix, and the Formula E Season 2 Finale in London. There's lengthy discussions about the Hamilton/Rosberg crash, the nature of F1 fandom in general, Ferrari's frustrating strategy calls as Vettel's rear goes pop, and the rest of the race in general, as Wehrlein scored a precious point for Manor, Jenson Button finished 7th for McLaren too, as seven different teams got into the points. We'll also talk the Formula E Season 2 Finale as Lucas Di Grassi took himself and Sebastian Buemi out of contention on the opening lap, turning the 2nd race into a Time Attack session, in spectacular fashion. We also talk about the state of the sport going forward, and the season at large as big changes are planned for Season 3. That and some more of your questions, in a bumper edition of the show! Enjoy!
