Comenta aqui!

“Definitely, this will be part of a new world of how motorsport will be seen and done in the future. I don't think all motorsports is going to go this way. But again, sports are changing - fan experience, TV, the way you stream, what people are interested in, what brands are actually looking to sponsor. So all of this is evolving very fast. So definitely I think there is a very big opportunity for Extreme E and Formula E to grow within this new experience” The face of motorsports is changing. Sustainability initiatives and increasing calls to protect the environment have seen the introduction of electric vehicles into motorsports alongside new championships like Formula E and Extreme E. So what does this mean for the sport's future and the drivers who compete in motorsports racing? In this episode, Ed Bernardon interviews Lucas Di Grassi, Formula E champion and former Formula 1 driver. Lucas and Ed discuss what it's like racing in Formula E, how motorsports have integrated sustainability into the sport, what effects championships like Formula E have had on sustainable technological advancements in the real world, how sustainability and environmentalism are shaping the sport, and so much more! (1:46) What would you say were the top three memorable moments from your career (6:05) What does [the ESkootr Championship] provide that other racing championships don't provide? (29:34) What would you say are the biggest contributions that Formula E has made to commercial automotive? (45:55) What are your thoughts on what the crossover point is, in terms of number of miles, you have to drive an electric vehicle, more or less, when it finally becomes truly an advantage from a sustainability standpoint? Formula E is back. Gen3 is alive. All is good in the world. Well, sort of, could have been a better race, could have had a bit more action. But that won't take away from some excellent drives from Jake Dennis, Pascal Wehrlein and Lucas Di Grassi. All three of them deserved that podium. The odds of that result were long too. We can finally say, it's Stoffel Season again. And the man doesn't even like waffles. The Season Finale of Year 8 in Formula E hit us this past weekend in Seoul, South Korea and its first major Motorsport event in almost a decade. Anyone else remember Yeognam? Anyway, we catch up a little bit on London, as Stoffel Vandoorne was in control of the Championship, and Mitch Evans and Edo Mortara were the only two men who could realistically stop him. So of course, Mitch takes Race 1 just to make it an absolute final race showdown. But not before a 7-car wreck on a wet track. Yikes. But with Mitch qualifying badly in Race 2, it left the path to success clear for Stoffel to become Formula E's third World Champion. We discuss the path to the title for Stoffel, and his main contenders in Mitch, who Mitched Dre's last brah. And Edo Mortara. Remember when he had an 11-point lead in the Championship after Berlin?! We also talk Seoul's track, and the Olympic Stadium it was racing around. We'll get over Ben Johnson's infamous 100m and the involvement of "Balanced Breakfasts". Was it conducive for good racing? Did it come off well on TV? Well... And we look forward to the Gen 3 era of Formula E. This was the series 99th and 100th races in its history and we show some cautious optimism about where the series is heading, even with some concerns. There's some silly season in there too with Lucas Di Grassi heading to Mahindra, and some rumours about the future of Nyck De Vries, Sergio Sette Camara and more. All that and more on Motorsport101!
Hey now, it's been a while, but welcome back to Formula E! And we had some surprises in store when the series returned to New York City! It was a double header weekend, and in Race 1, the story was Nick Cassidy! He won the pole position final duel against Stoffel Vandoorne by 8 thousandths of a second and would then go onto control the race from the front... until rain came down with 10 minutes to go! A torrential downpour had Cassidy, Vandoorne and Mortara all hit a puddle and go flying off into the escape road, red flagging the race, and because the race was called, Cassidy got to keep the win on countback! Should we have had a restart? Jaguar were pissed they didn't, we discuss it! We also had a crazy end to Race 2 with a pileup at the end with Lucas Di Grassi, a spun around Jean-Eric Vergne and Oliver Askew's car in the wall. Race Director Scot Elkins though... didn't call for a Full Course Yellow as Antonio Felix Da Costa held on for his first win of the season from Stoffel Vandoorne second. All this after Nick Cassidy qualified on pole AGAIN, but was sent to the back live on TV for a battery change we all saw coming after yesterday's wreck. Again, we break it all down on the show. And finally, Season 9's calendar was released for 2023, and we got some interesting changes. Provisionally, the series largest ever calendar at 18 races, new rounds in Hyderabad in India, with rumours of Cape Town and a return to China also on the bill. We discuss all the changes and whether we like the direction the series is going in. All that and more on Motorsport101!
Professional sport is a world where individuals can earn as much as a decent-sized business, and teams have evolved to become multi-national corporations. And where there's money, technology follows. In this episode, we'll be meeting with amazing people at the cutting edge of sports technology to look at how data has become a key part of the field - and looking at what organisations around the world can learn from the performance analysis revolution. We're speaking to Professor Steve Haake of Sheffield Hallam University about the revolution in data capture and analytics that came about with mobile computing and wearable tech, and how the data revolution has augmented the materials revolution in sports for everything from training routine optimisation to predictive injury prevention. That's something Hawk-Eye Innovations are also exploring, alongside their better known video capture and virtual refereeing systems. Global Commercial Director Peter Irwin talks us through how mass video capture from hundreds of data points and generating real-time virtual skeletons for every person on a pitch is not only helping enforce the rules, it's predicting injuries and giving strategic insights in real time.Hewlett Packard Enterprise Chief Technologist Matt Armstong-Barnes talks us through in more detail how AI and humans are interacting to create better athletes and sportsmen, and how the future of sports technology is athletes whose skills are allowed to flourish by having compute take over some of their workload. He argues AIs are getting better, but the optimum performance still comes from humans and AIs working together, especially in motorsport. No-one understands that better than Lucas Di Grassi, driver for Formula E team ROKit Venturi Racing. He's used to taking to the track in one of the most technically advanced cars in the world, but believes that human rules are holding the sport back. He's keen to see AI take on more of a role in the field, and to that end, is leading the charge with self-driving racecars, in his 'robo race' project. We also talk about how businesses can take advantage of a revolution in insights - getting the best data from a set to the right end users, in such a way as they can get the best advantage out of it.

Formula E returned to the streets of Rome in emphatic fashion with two rather crazy races. Norman Nato was denied a maiden podium, Sebastien Buemi and Lucas Di Grassi reignited an old grudge match, and Andre Lotterer lost in the worst's most electrified game of "chicken". Oh, and Jaguar leads a World Championship for the first time since Dre was born. Seriously. We break it all down in Episode 297!

Tom Gaymor, Enaam Ahmed and Emma Walsh bring you all the reaction and key analysis from the 2018 CBMM Niobium Rome E-Prix presented by Mercedes EQ - the seventh instalment in the 2017/18 ABB FIA Formula E Championship. There was no shortage of drama on the streets of Rome, with Sam Bird claiming his second victory of the season after Felix Rosenqvist, who started the race on pole, failed to finish. Reigning champion Lucas Di Grassi battled hard to finish second, with Andre Lotterer taking his place on the podium in third. ALL RISE FOR A READING FROM THE WALL OF VERGNE In Episode 128, Dre, RJ, King and Zoe all review the Formula E race in Punta Del Este as Jean-Eric Vergne and Lucas Di Grassi went to war in something resembling Alonso vs Schumacher from Imola 2005. We also keep an eye on Bird, Mitch Evans stunning drive, and we managed to collar Hazel Southwell in an airport again... only this time, the airport fought back! We also discuss IndyCar's new TV deal with ABC and the new Women in Karting programme from the FIA! Stay tuned for Episode 129 later this week on the Australian Grand Prix!
You still have time to get your team created and join the league over at Fantasygp.com, league code 14831491.Over in Formula E there was some controversy in qualifying at the Punta Del Este E-Prix, and Lucas Di Grassi got a penalty for wearing the wrong underwear - no really...How is Formula E going to have races where the drivers don't need to switch cars - make the races shorter.ESPN's broadcast schedule has been announced, and as we feared, we're loosing pre and post race coverage in the US.The FIA is watching for teams using engine modes to gain an aerodynamic advantage, and oil burning apparently it's still a thing.Jean Todt says that the drivers shouldn't complain about the halo because the FIA was just doing what they wanted, and he thinks that Ferrari should loose their rules veto.Toto Wolff says it would be bad to make Sergio Marchionne angry.Toro Rosso is realizing that it's pretty cool to be a works team.McLaren got a flip flop maker to sponsor their halo for a race. And Fernando Alonso said that he considered leaving F1 at the end of last season and we're not at all surprised.
Jean-Eric Vergne claimed his second victory of the season, leading from start to finish at the 2018 Punta del Este E-Prix in Uruguay. The Frenchman pipped last season's champion, Lucas Di Grassi, to the chequered flag, with Englishman Sam Bird finishing in third. We'll hear from all three drivers, as well as Sebastian Buemi, who until today had a 100% winning record on this track but was unable to complete the race.
This might be the least Motorsport Motorsport101 ever covers! Go us! In this edition, we talk at length about WrestleMania! As well as the infamous drama Dre got into on social media this past week! There's also talk on Formula E's Mexico City Round as Lucas Di Grassi survived the chaos as Championship leader Sebastien Buemi bottled it, as well as Jerome's desperate defending and all the other carnage! We also cover all the news (Including a lengthy rant from King on Hall of Fames as the FIA is considering one), Pascal Wehrlein being replaced again, and the mailbag is back to answer your questions! Enjoy!
Safe to say, this was a pretty hectic weekend in Motorsport. We recorded this episode the same day it all unfolded, so our feelings were pretty raw. Hope it comes off well. In the episode, we mainly focus around the Austrian Grand Prix, and the Formula E Season 2 Finale in London. There's lengthy discussions about the Hamilton/Rosberg crash, the nature of F1 fandom in general, Ferrari's frustrating strategy calls as Vettel's rear goes pop, and the rest of the race in general, as Wehrlein scored a precious point for Manor, Jenson Button finished 7th for McLaren too, as seven different teams got into the points. We'll also talk the Formula E Season 2 Finale as Lucas Di Grassi took himself and Sebastian Buemi out of contention on the opening lap, turning the 2nd race into a Time Attack session, in spectacular fashion. We also talk about the state of the sport going forward, and the season at large as big changes are planned for Season 3. That and some more of your questions, in a bumper edition of the show! Enjoy!
