Mientras transcurría el primer episodio de “Titans”, me imaginaba la instrucción que se había dado desde las oficinas de Warner Bros: “Queremos nuestra Daredevil”. El problema es que a Daredevil, y a Jessica Jones y a Luke Cage y a The Punisher, el tono les va. No así al micro-universo de los Teen Titans. Se necesita algo más que un “Fuck Batman” pronunciado por Robin, o sangre salpicando a la menor provocación para sobresalir de entre la variada y múltiple oferta de contenido que tenemos hoy en día. Afortunadamente, todo mejora. Y de que manera. El episodio número 2 cambió completamente mi percepción y jamás me imaginé que me emocionaría tanto ver una versión en vivo de Hawk and Dove. Y no porque pudiera declararme fan de los personajes, porque, seamos sinceros, es difícil ser fan de un equipo que, de las cinco series de cómic que ha tenido, sólo una ha superado los 10 números. Más bien es la manera en la cual se detuvieron para presentarlos y contar su origen, sin que esto se sienta como un episodio aparte. Y entonces entendí a quién le debíamos dar las gracias y confiar más en sus nombres. Akiva Goldsman, quien afortunadamente se ha alejado de su trabajo para las películas Batman Forever y Batman and Robin, para ganar el Oscar y Globo de Oro por Mejor Guión Adaptado por A beatiful mind. El nombre de Greg Berlanti tampoco es desconocido, sobre todo en los últimos años, pues es una figura involucrada no sólo en el Arrowverse, sino también en las adaptaciones televisivas de Riverdale y Sabrina. Y por último, pero no menos importante, Geof Johhns. He aquí una de las razones por las cuales renunció a ser Chief Creative Officer de DC Entertainment, para volver al campo de batalla. Y encargarse, por ejemplo, del guión de por lo menos tres episodios de Titans. Y así como hemos aprendido a ser pacientes y no juzgar por sólo un episodio, la historia también nos ha enseñando, bueno no a todos... bueno, a pocos, a que esperemos al resultado final antes de llorar por nuestra infancia por las fotografías del producto, tanto las oficiales como las filtradas. Pronto en Titans se nos olvida el aspecto físico de Starfire puesto que el personaje es lo suficientemente fuerte como para interesarnos por ella. Y lo mismo con el resto del elenco... excepto Dick Grayson. Es muy interesante el momento de su vida en el cual lo conocemos. En la transición entre el sidekick y el superhéroe independiente. El no saber si cortar completamente con su pasado, pero reconociendo que tiene una gran deuda con Bruce Wayne. Tiene líneas muy interesantes pero desafortunadamente el actor Brenton Thwaites se queda corto, muy corto, en el que debería ser el personaje con mayor personalidad del grupo entero. Esperemos, que una vez que ya lo conoce y sabe para dónde va, mejore en la segunda temporada. Me hace pensar que estamos en 2019, y es increíble que no tengamos una buena versión de Robin en live action. Tuvimos una, y nadie quiere recordarla, y en la trilogía de Nolan, solamente quedó insinuado. Mención aparte hay que darle al soundtrack de la serie, pues la selección de las canciones que aparecen se sienten cuidadas y le dan color a las escenas. Lo mismo podemos escuchar a Nathaniel Rateliff como los Foo Fighters, MGMT, LCD Soundsystem y hasta a los Beach Boys para ilustrar la vida falsa y linda que tiene Dick Grayson en el último episodio. En lo único en lo que fallaron fue en meter a AC/DC. Y aprovecho para enviar un mensaje: a partir de este momento, queda prohibidísimo usar cualquier canción de dicha banda para serie o película de superhéroes o de acción. Basta. Echenle más ganitas. Hay vida fuera de AC/DC. En resumen, este nuevo micro-universo de las series del servicio de stream DC Universe, comienza bien, es atrevido y como en todo, una sólida base hace toda la diferencia para tener un futuro prometedor. Eigentlich sollte es nur eine kurze Folge werden, doch dann ist alles (wiedermal) eskaliert. Wir sprechen über M. Kramer die nog geen club heeft, Nelom die met het buitenland flirt en de gewonnen strijd van Jones, ten koste van Vermeer. Maar waar het écht om draait, is 21 januari. Cruciaal en allesbepalend, maar eigenlijk ook geen peil op te trekken hoe wij (en zij) ervoor staan. Zouden we eindelijk met drie punten de hoofdstad verlaten? Grote smet: de laatste training is besloten, een doodzonde.
