Daniele Gottardo is an Italian guitarist and composer known for his dazzling technique, innovative use of tapping, and sophisticated approach to composition. Born in 1983 in Rovigo, Italy, he began his musical journey at a young age, first inspired by classical and jazz traditions before immersing himself in rock and fusion. His unique style blends virtuosic guitar playing with orchestral sensibilities, making him stand out in the modern guitar community as more than just a shred player—he's also a forward-thinking composer.Gottardo first rose to international recognition in 2009 when he won the prestigious Guitar Idol competition in London, a contest that helped launch the careers of several modern guitar virtuosos. This win showcased not only his technical abilities but also his originality, as he presented music that leaned heavily into compositional depth rather than just flash. Following this achievement, he released his debut album Frenzy of Ecstasy (2010), a record that immediately drew attention for its complex arrangements and innovative use of extended guitar techniques. In 2016, he followed up with his second album, Invent Your Future, which further cemented his reputation as a guitarist with a unique voice. Unlike many instrumental rock guitar albums that focus primarily on soloing, Gottardo's work incorporates orchestral textures, cinematic arrangements, and advanced harmonic concepts. His pieces often sound as though they could be scored for film, balancing technical fireworks with strong melodic sensibilities. This compositional focus sets him apart from many of his contemporaries in the shred and progressive guitar scenes.Beyond his solo work, Gottardo has been active as a composer and educator. He has written concert pieces that blend electric guitar with orchestra, underscoring his passion for uniting rock guitar with classical traditions. He also contributes to guitar education through masterclasses, instructional material, and collaborations with music schools worldwide. His lessons often emphasize not only technique but also harmony, counterpoint, and creativity, encouraging players to see the guitar as a vehicle for broader musical expression.Today, Daniele Gottardo is considered one of the most forward-thinking guitarists of his generation. He is admired not only by fans of technical guitar playing but also by musicians who appreciate his commitment to composition and artistry. His career bridges the worlds of rock virtuosity and classical sophistication, making him a modern pioneer in instrumental music. As both a performer and composer, he continues to inspire a new generation of guitarists to look beyond speed and technique and embrace the broader possibilities of musical storytelling.https://officialdanielegottardo.com/

Approximately ten years ago, both dragons signed their first publishing contracts. Since then it's been a riotous series of highs and lows and new adventures - including the creation of this podcast. This week, Jules and Madeleine look back over the last decade. Would they have written their first books the same way if they'd been writing them now? What is the relationship between writing and creativity and where does creative inspiration come from? Where do they see themselves going in their writing from here? And just what is good etiquette around reviews? Join them for a semi- biographical episode about the ups and downs of being a writer. (Please note this is the last episode of this season - the Dragons will be back in October for spooky season) Title music: Ecstasy by Smiling Cynic

In this episode of Poducer, we sit down with Chicago-based house producer, DJ, and attorney Arum — a rising voice in the underground scene known for his soulful, groove-forward productions, community organizing, and fiercely human-centered approach to music. He shares how early influences like Crystal Castles and Death from Above shaped his love for experimental rhythms, and why he now champions house music with emotion, texture, and intention. Arum breaks down his creative process, his views on algorithm-driven promotion, and how he uses marketing tools like Meta ads with intention — all while avoiding the industry's pressure to chase empty numbers. We also dive into his legal background, discussing music contracts, AI concerns, and why empowering artists with knowledge is at the core of his mission. Plus, we talk about Beyond Ecstasy Vol. 2, the multi-genre event he's curating at Book Club Chicago on August 2, featuring names like Backpack, Dante Drives, Yannaa Lynette, and more — a night that blends house, hip-hop, experimental electronics, and rave history into one vibrant community gathering.
Part Two of a Two Part Episode Continuing on from last week's examination of how depictions of the work place in fiction have transitioned over the decades from daily grinds where hard work will reward the worthy to places where you can find fun and family (if you're a team player) to recent depictions of bleak office hellscapes where baffled, exploited employees are required to perform a series of increasingly bizarre and senseless tasks (Severence - we're looking at you), this week Jules and Madeleine delve into the archetypes of this genre. Why might you want to write an anarchist or a saboteur? Why is sci-fi such good fit for telling workplace stories and why might you want to write one? And just what can we learn from these stories? Under the microscope this week: Severence, Fight Club, Squid Game and many more. Title music: Ecstasy by Smiling Cynic
Ivy Pochoda is the author of the critically-acclaimed novels Visitation Street, These Women, Sing Her Down, and the just-published Ecstasy, a reimagined contemporary feminist horror story hailed by the Washington Post as a “stiletto-sharp remake of Euripides.” She is also the co-author of The New York Times best-selling middle-grade Epoca fantasy series, created by the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant and written under the name Ivy Claire. Her books have been awarded the L.A. Times Book Prize, the 2018 Strand Critics Award for Best Novel and the Prix Page America in France, and she has been a finalist for the prestigious Edgar Award. A former collegiate and professional squash player, Ivy has led a creative writing workshop in Skid Row, Los Angeles, and is currently a professor of creative writing at the University of California Riverside-Palm Desert low-residency MFA program. Send us a textIn this provocative and deeply spiritual exploration, Hope Johnson shatters conventional perspectives on relationships, sexuality, and pleasure. What if our sexual experiences are merely substitutes for the true ecstasy we're designed to experience within ourselves? Hope reveals how our inner masculine and feminine energies, when properly aligned, create a sustainable joy that makes external pursuits pale in comparison. She explains that bodies can never truly join—the pleasure we think we experience is merely projected by our minds. This understanding transforms sex from a sacred act to simply another illusion in our dream state, no different in essence from eating a sandwich. The conversation delves into how relationships often function as distractions from awakening. When we enter deep, entangled connections with expectations of fulfillment, we're setting ourselves up for inevitable suffering. Hope suggests that the "happy dream" may not include sexual relationships at all, but rather light, joyful connections without the burden of expectation.Drawing from A Course in Miracles, Hope explains that sexual impulses are misguided miracle impulses—attempts to join what cannot join. This doesn't mean condemning sexuality, but recognizing its true purpose in our spiritual journey. When brought to the Holy Spirit, any experience becomes a means for undoing the dream rather than reinforcing it.This wisdom challenges our core beliefs about what makes life worth living. Are we willing to question these deeply-held attachments to pleasure? Can we recognize that underneath our desires for bodily connection lies a profound yearning for the divine union that's always available within?Visit HopeJohnson.org to engage more deeply with these teachings. Your donations support this work and are now tax-deductible through Hope's religious nonprofit status. Join the conversation about awakening from the dream and discovering the true ecstasy that lies beyond all bodily pleasures.Support the show

Part one of a two part episode Sci-fi and fantasy have portrayed many workplace settings over the decades - engineers and pilots on space craft, for example, or fairy smiths and kitchen witches in fantasy. However while fantasy has been leaning into the idea of leaving unfulfilling work and finding a perfect cosy profession, sci-fi has been delving into the nightmare of the bad workplace. This week, Jules and Madeleine take a look at the common criticisms and fallacies of the workplace highlighted by fiction, and just why this is finding an avid audience now. When you hear the word "shaman," I'm guessing a web of associations starts to form in your mind. Perhaps you imagine strange ceremonies and strong substances; maybe you think of an earlier time when magic and superstition reined. But shamanism is not just some relic of the past, or a curio from exotic lands. It's part of our present, and it will almost certainly be part of our future. This is because the roots of shamanism lie within us all. My guest today is Dr. Manvir Singh. Manvir is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Davis and a regular contributor to The New Yorker. He's also the author of a new book—Shamanism: The Timeless Religion. Here, Manvir and I talk about his fieldwork with Mentawai shamans in Indonesia. We discuss what makes a shaman a shaman, and consider the cognitive building blocks that make shamanism so widespread and so appealing. We discuss the shamanic origins of Abrahamic religions. We consider how, over the course of history, shamanism has repeatedly resurged, despite attempts to snuff it out. And we also talk about the various forms and flavors that shamanism takes in contemporary Western societies. Along the way, Manvir and I touch on: drumming, fasting, and the “dark tent”; Jesus; experimental Edens; witches, prophets, and messiahs; glossolalia; disenchantment and re-enchantment; the rise of neoshamanism; Paleolithic rock art; hedge wizards and tech CEOs; Western exceptionalism; and the routinization of charisma. If you enjoy this episode, I highly recommend that you check out Manvir's book—it's a captivating blend of narrative and ideas and it goes far beyond what we were able to talk about here. I'll also flag that this Manvir's second time on Many Minds. Back in July of 2020 we had another conversation—broader in scope—where we talked about shamanism but also Manvir's work on witches, stories, and music. So you might check that one out as well. Alright friends, on to my conversation with Dr. Manvir Singh. Enjoy! A transcript of this episode will be available soon. Clayton Howard, a male escort who alleges he was trafficked by Sean "Diddy" Combs and his former partner Cassie Ventura, has filed a civil lawsuit against the pair. Howard claims that from 2009 to 2014, he was coerced into participating in "freak-offs," drug-fueled sex sessions organized by Combs and Ventura. He alleges that Ventura infected him with a sexually transmitted disease and terminated a pregnancy without his consent. Additionally, Howard accuses Ventura of manipulating him into taking ecstasy and engaging in unprotected sex, leading to physical and psychological harm, including lost wages, medical expenses, and emotional distress.Despite not testifying in the federal trial against Combs, Howard's experiences were referenced during the proceedings. The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of exploitation and abuse, with Howard seeking damages for the trauma he endured. This legal action adds to the growing number of allegations against Combs, who was recently convicted on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution, though he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Diddy hit by explosive new sex scandal hours after being cleared of most serious charges he faced | Daily Mail Online

This legal action adds to the growing number of allegations against Combs, who was recently convicted on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution, though he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Diddy hit by explosive new sex scandal hours after being cleared of most serious charges he faced | Daily Mail OnlineBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Today's poem is Flesh (“You in your ecstasy of coffee”) by Deborah Landau. The Slowdown is currently taking a break. We'll be back soon with new episodes from a new host. This week, we're revisiting some favorites from Major Jackson's time as host. Today's episode was originally released on May 5 2023. The Slowdown is your daily poetry ritual. In this episode, Major writes… “When summer arrives, I run as fast as I can into its lushness. I am making new memories with family and friends that involve nights of alfresco dining, remote beaches, mountain ranges, and sun-drenched cocktail parties. Summer is the season that beckons most my senses; all that fruit bursting its wild colors: strawberries, apricots, and peaches. Whereas winter feels interminable, I am most aware summer's bounty is numbered, finite.” Celebrate the power of poems with a gift to The Slowdown today. Past incidents with unleashed dogs have led to plant damage, injuries, and confrontations, highlighting the importance of this rule. Leashing also protects dogs from dangers like snakes, coyotes, and unsafe water. To promote responsible pet ownership, CRNRA offers the B.A.R.K. Sheriff David J. Davis stressed the need to combat such activities, while AG Chris Carr vowed accountability for violent offenders. Federal agencies, including the FBI and DEA, played key roles in the investigation's success. STORY 7: Georgia Power completes hydrogen fuel test Georgia Power and Mitsubishi Power completed a groundbreaking test using a 50% hydrogen and natural gas blend at Plant McDonough-Atkinson in Smyrna, cutting carbon emissions by 22%. This world-first trial follows a 2022 test with a 20% blend. Natural gas, accounting for 40% of Georgia Power’s energy, remains crucial for flexibility and baseload power. The company’s 2025 Integrated Resource Plan proposes hydrogen-capable turbines at Plant Yates to further reduce emissions. While this innovation marks progress, environmental groups remain critical of Georgia Power’s reliance on natural gas and coal. The plan awaits a PSC vote on July 15. On May 30, 2025, the FDA sent a letter of approval to the pharmaceutical company Moderna to manufacture and sell its new COVID-19 vaccine.1 But even more dismaying, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the world's most prominent advocate for vaccine safety, has now gone out on a political limb and committed himself to promoting Moderna's latest version of the mRNA Covid jab.2 In doing so, Kennedy is supporting the continuation of the world's most lethal medical or wartime assault on humanity, one that many see as a bioweapons attack on America by the globalists, including Communist China. There are more than 38,000 reports of death to date to the CDC and FDA from the COVID-19 vaccines. Nothing like this catastrophe has ever before happened in medicine or public health. In addition, there is a deluge of reports and independent studies verifying the almost infinite harms caused by these mRNA vaccines. These harms include infertility, a declining birth rate, multiple harms to infants and mothers, cardiovascular disorders, including myocarditis in children and strokes in adults, tumors, a wide range of neurological and psychiatric disorders, and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), which results in greater susceptibility to infections and cancer. But for every reported death and other serious adverse event, we know that there are more than 100 actual deaths or harms. These “vaccines” are killing and maiming millions in America and millions more around the world.3 Here is Kennedy's entire defense of his atrocious actions: Actually, there is nothing “limited” about the approval letter. The letter specifically empowers Moderna to manufacture and distribute the drug. They will go ahead with this before completing any additional studies supposedly promised to Kennedy, which would take years more. Besides, once a drug company has spent multi-millions getting a drug approved, as they have already done, I've never seen a company actually complete additional studies that could invalidate their drug. Moderna's survival is at stake, and drug companies don't commit economic suicide. And this one has the backing of Bill Gates! Kennedy has broken many recent promises to get himself into this bizarre situation of betraying his previously voiced ideals. He is approving the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine without so much as a placebo-controlled clinical trial or even a review by the FDA Vaccine Committee. On top of that, pregnant women are not protected as he promised to do. But worst of all, he has never even promised to stop the heavily documented murder of the elderly who are killed by the mRNA covid vaccines at a rate of eight times more than the rest of the population.4 Many of us will remain eternally grateful for RFK, Jr's support for Donald Trump's election campaign. But now he must resign or be removed. Kennedy's acceptance of the FDA's approval of Moderna's Covid vaccine is more than sufficient reason to fire him. But in addition, he is also grossly undermining the Trump administration and literally threatening the well-being of all our citizens by advocating the use of extremely dangerous neurotoxins, including methylene blue, MDMA or Ecstasy, and psychedelics. Trump's choice for Surgeon General, based on Kennedy's recommendation, is devoted to psychedelics! It's as if RFK, Jr. has become a toxic mole within the America First movement. For an in-depth scientific analysis and presentation about everything in this synopsis, please read the full article: RFK, Jr. blatantly supports the mRNA COVID shots and must be forced to resign - Full Article End Notes: 1 May 30, 2025 Approval Letter – MNEXSPIKE 2 Secretary Kennedy on X: “I want to address those of you who have anxieties about @US_FDA's limited approval of a new mRNA COVID vaccine for high-risk populations. Moderna has agreed to a true placebo-controlled trial of the new vaccine, which is similar to the existing mRNA vaccine but uses a smaller” / X. Actually, there is nothing “limited” about the approval letter. Besides, once a drug has spent multi-millions getting a drug approved, I've never seen one fulfill a promise to do studies that could invalidate their drug. Besides, if a study of safety is still needed, it's ridiculous to put off until after it's been approved, by which time many could be harmed. 3 New FDA Plans for the Covid Vaccines Will Kill Millions More 4 New FDA Plans for the Covid Vaccines Will Kill Millions More ______ Learn more about Dr. Peter Breggin's work: https://breggin.com/ See more from Dr. Breggin's long history of being a reformer in psychiatry: https://breggin.com/Psychiatry-as-an-Instrument-of-Social-and-Political-Control Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal, the how-to manual @ https://breggin.com/a-guide-for-prescribers-therapists-patients-and-their-families/ Get a copy of Dr. Breggin's latest book: WHO ARE THE “THEY” - THESE GLOBAL PREDATORS? On the afternoon of June 6, 2025, during Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal sex trafficking trial, a woman testifying under the pseudonym "Jane" provided detailed and emotional testimony about her experiences with Combs. She described being coerced into prolonged, drug-fueled sexual encounters, referred to as "hotel nights," which often involved male escorts and could last up to three and a half days. Jane testified that Combs supplied her with Ecstasy to endure these sessions and pressured her to continue despite her exhaustion, using phrases like "Let's finish strong." She recounted that Combs directed the activities, instructing her on how to interact with the escorts and herself, and that he would watch and masturbate during these encounters. Jane also detailed the physical toll these events took on her, including chronic back pain and frequent urinary tract infections. She stated that despite expressing her discomfort, Combs dismissed her concerns, and she felt compelled to comply due to her financial dependence on him, as he was paying her rent and providing other support. In addition to the physical and emotional abuse, Jane testified about the psychological manipulation she endured. She shared text messages and personal notes with the jury, revealing her feelings of being used and dismissed by Combs. One note read, "You lie straight to my face...all you want is another hotel night like you've been doing for two years." Jane recounted an instance where she was promised a vacation without any "hotel nights," but upon arrival, she was subjected to another coerced sexual encounter. She described feeling betrayed and manipulated, stating that she would not have gone on the trip had she known what was planned. Jane's testimony also highlighted the ongoing financial control Combs had over her, as she revealed that he continued to pay her rent even after their relationship endedto contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:June 6, 2025 - Day 18 of testimony in the Sean ‘Diddy' Combs trial | CNN
