Hey all! And welcome to another episode of The Neurodivergent Polyamorist Podcast! Now, some of you may recall (from our social media posts and prior episode mentions) that this weekend was supposed to mark our appearance at the Midnight at Dawn Kink Convention in Sudbury, Ontario. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled. But Becca and I decided - hey now, why let that stop us? So we wrangled in friend of the podcast and fellow con exhibitor Laura from Alex Deviant Creations and decided to try to simulate the kind of shit-shooting conversations we would have likely had as booth neighbours at the actual convention. What followed was a robust chat where we discussed everything from the importance of community building, to when to give grace when people mess up on our queer identities, vs when to tell them where to go. (Spoiler: it comes down to whether or not they're genuinely trying in good faith and if they're open to learning better/doing better, though of course your mileage may vary). So if that sounds like your cup of tea (or coffee...hell, even energy drinks for those of you among us who are feral gremlins), then put those headphones on, sit back, relax, and join us! Disney is in deep trouble. They've had to settle a case where they were accused of 'self-dealing' and 'Hollywood accounting.' And as they continue to bleed out cash movie after movie, pundits are wondering aloud if Dopey is actually running Disney... ➡️ Tip Jar and Fan Support: http://ClownfishSupport.com ➡️ Official Merch Store: http://ShopClownfish.com ➡️ Official Website: http://ClownfishTV.com Additional Context: Disney and its subsidiary 20th Century Studios recently settled a lawsuit with film financing partner TSG Entertainment. TSG had sued Disney, accusing them of "rampant self-dealing" and breach of their revenue participation contract. The lawsuit alleged that Disney/Fox used various tactics in "Hollywood accounting" to reduce TSG's share of defined gross receipts, which negatively impacted TSG's ability to generate liquidity for future productions. The lawsuit also highlighted Disney's strategy of releasing films on Disney+ to grow subscriptions, which reduced theatrical revenue for TSG. These actions were characterized as part of a broader pattern of Hollywood accounting practices, including the use of "accounting tricks" and "self-dealing" to avoid paying financiers their due share of profits. The case was settled with both parties agreeing to a resolution, though the specific terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The settlement of this lawsuit marks a significant resolution in the ongoing legal battles within the entertainment industry, particularly concerning financial agreements and revenue sharing. This case has shed light on the complexities of revenue participation contracts in film production and distribution. Hosts Janice Min, Richard Rushfield and Tatiana Siegel are joined by Ankler contributing editor Peter Kiefer to discuss the fallout and what it means for Chapek, who once again finds himself stepping into a PR minefield. Rushfield brings the juice, talking about the ‘gang fight' within Disney and how Dana Walden's contract renegotiation underway may have played a part in the timing. However, “the town is outraged at the treatment of Peter Rice after 30 years of service to the Disney-Fox companies, that he's told to hit the bricks after a seven-minute conversation, where he is told that after 30 years, he's not a ‘cultural fit,'” he says. “There's no door prize that he gets with this.” Siegel notes that the Rice case breaks with Hollywood's soft-landing tradition for other top executives like Warner Bros.' Toby Emmerich, who was allowed a dignified exit with a production deal. In other topics: Kiefer joins to discuss a new lawsuit rocking L.A.'s elite school community over a “woke” curriculum accused of discriminating against Jews; the team talks Johnny Depp and his post-defamation suit victory lap (he's got 12.1 million TikTok followers after his first two days on the platform); and finally, they applaud the effective and emotional plea for stricter gun laws in Mr. McConaughey Goes to Washington. 0:20 Woo S! KimWhat do you believe is the most significant benefit that Marvel Studios will gain by having Marvel's First Family and The Mutants back other than the most obvious gain, having most of their characters back under their roof.  I just find it ironic that feige was discussing and or hinting at the Marvel Cinematic Universe going for Cosmic elements than they did previously even before the Disney/FOX desl, now it is an even better situation than before.3:56 Woo S! KimWe haven't seen them in Marvel Studios' films and please correct me if I am wrong, but are there such things as naturally born heroic Kree?  I just ask this because of how "Captain Marvel" showed us a different side of The Skrulls.5:55 Alexander WilliamsLove the show! One of my biggest Marvel (Fox) pet peeves is “the reboot.” Retelling an origin story is unnecessary and a 20 min waste of movie time. The most egregious rebooter is the Fantastic Four, which had to condense its own movie to make space for yet another poorly constructed origin story.  Given the complexity of FF's real origin story (and the fact that it couldn't get worse) would't the franchise be served introducing characters in onesies/foursies? I'd prefer to see a Dr. Doom solo movie or one where he's a foil for Dr. Strange. This could then be followed by a FF movie. I know you guys are FF super fans. Have you heard anything about what's going on with the franchise? Is there any hope for the FF? Any chance you guys could serve as comic consultants to spare us all from another steaming pile of FF? Thanks for a great show!10:07 Alex WardHi Sean! Hope you and the patrons are all doing well! So I'm sure you've seen the latest IMAX poster for Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the jokes that followed. I do think it's pretty funny, especially knowing there are other good FFH posters out there, but I have some questions: How much does a movie's poster quality affect its box office success? Are there any instances in which a bad poster hurt a good movie, or maybe a bad movie that had a good poster? Venom maybe?17:44 Alex WardForgive me if you've already discussed the Avengers video game that's coming out, but I am wondering what your general impressions are. I like that the approach they're taking but I'm not that excited about the playable characters. Don't get me wrong, I love these characters, but I don't necessarily think the film Avengers lineup are the most fun to play as. What Avengers are you excited to play as, and which additional characters would you like to play as in a video game? Are you planning on getting Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for Switch? I don't have a Switch but I'm thinking of getting one just for that game.22:46 Alex WardGiven Far From Home's unique release date during a very busy week (you, me, and Tom Cruise's birthday, plus the Fourth of July), what are your plans to sneak in showings of this film, or multiple? Okay, thank you so much Sean and have an awesome week everyone!25:33 Mike GarrisonHey Sean and everyone, hope you're doing well. I did an X-Men re-watch before forcing myself to see Dark Pheonix and every time I re-watch these movies my love for Magneto is reinforced.  My question is: I really like Magneto's origins in the movies and comics - but if/when he is introduced to the MCU;  being a Holocaust survivor wouldn't make much sense anymore as it could be anywhere from 2025-2030 (?) in the MCU timeline. How do you think Marvel Studios, or how would you address this?  Could they have Magneto be a survivor of genocide of a fictional country, or maybe change Magneto's race and have him be a survivor of more recent events that happened in the real world? Thanks for doing this, look forward to your answer.29:29 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean, about the fox X-Men movies, are you upset that Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender never interacted onscreen??30:16 Alex WardDo you have any morbid curiosity in seeing the supposed "Kinberg cut" of Dark Phoenix that includes Skrulls and a Civil War-esque ending?30:26 Lincwhat rumoured property do you put the least and most stock in? And why?36:08 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean and fellow Patrons, hope you're all having a good start to the weekend. My question for you Sean is not really related to Marvel, but it would have some effect on them I think. What is your take, if you have one on DC Universe currently and the official cancellation of Swamp Thing after only its first episode being aired? Does this give Marvel any kind of advantage on newer content they will make in the future?45:04 David RosenDo you make anything of the fact that the new comic book version of Reed Richards in "War of the Realms" is being made to look like a bearded John Krasinski? It seems like the last time we got a comic book character who was modeled after a real life person, we got Samuel L Jackson in the MCU. Not to wear my tin foil hat too tight, but you think Kevin Feige already has his Reed Richards in mind with Krasinski and wants that to be reflected in the books too?47:54 David RosenLike many of us I'm sure, one of my favorite parts of bringing home a new MCU movie are the special features and learning about what actually went into the creation of a particular movie. To be honest, though, I've started to get bored with getting the same kinds of bonus features. It's made me start to think about what new kinds of features i would be interested in seeing, and one thing that came to mind would be a totally stripped down version of the movie made up entirely of dailies and first draft storyboards or animatics for all-CGI scenes where there is no set footage. No visual effects, no sound effects, no music, no nothing. Just the bare minimum. personally, I would love to see what these effects-heavy movies look like before any post work happens. I already appreciate what goes into making these kinds of movies, but I think I would appreciate them even more to see them in their raw form. Would something like this interest you and what other types of new special features would you be interested in seeing? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Also, when shooting at Maria Hill,  I don't think he hit her or anyone around her. I personally prefer what they did in the movie, but a Fury death would have given Maria Hill more to do from that point forward.8:16 Michael ChavezHey Sean! It's so cool to hear everyone doing their own Endgame prep by rewatching all the MCU movies and I am no different. I was watching Age of Ultron and like some, I've come to appreciate it a little more with each viewing given the grand scope of the Infinity Saga. Watching the Vision scene brought up a question I wanted to ask. When Wanda says that she looked inside Vision and saw Annihilation, it was assumed it was Vision if Ultron transferred himself fully. What if she wasn't sure what she saw? What if the destruction she saw was as a result of Thanos getting the mind stone? Vision's stone was the last one Thanos took, which directly led to the snap. This could be interpreted as Wanda being correct in that Vision would ultimately lead to annihilation, but not from Ultron. Thoughts or am I just reaching?11:15 AlexSean, arguably the biggest cinematic event in history will  be out in theaters  but I want to ask you would you be personally disappointed if no one ends up dying?17:09 Alex KleinI know we are all waiting with bated breath for the reunion of Cap and Steve, but are there any other scenes are you are hoping will be in the movie that may tie up loose threads from prior movies?20:03 Tim CallahanHey Sean .... Probably can't answer this question this week, but I wanted it in your head. My wife is very pregnant. Not going to the bathroom for 3 hours is a tall order. Hoping for next weeks Q&A (I will ask again) you can think of a non-spoilery way to say this is a good time to go. Something like "when Cap & Black Widow go to Starbucks" or "Iron Man reunites with Pepper".  I'm sure those without pregnant wives would also appreciate the answer.22:53 brentacPrimeDo you think that Endgame will set up any of the Disney plus shows we have now been officially told about?24:40 Jeremy WatsonHey Sean and fellow Patrons. There is plenty of speculation that this is the endgame for Cap. Do you think we will finally hear him say those two words he was so close to saying at the end of Age of Ultron....”Avengers A...”? Thanks and enjoy these last few days!26:54 AlexDo you think Reed and Sue should  already have children when the first MCU FF film comes out or would you prefer that to be a gradual thing that's built up to? 28:21 AlexDo you think it's possible  Feige will retool the Doom film the Fox has been developing into a 8-episode Disney Plus series and have Noah Hawley be the showrunner? And would you prefer either a tv show or a movie?30:13 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean and fellow Patrons. If you could choose one infinity stone to guard as your own, the way Vision does, or Doctor Strange does, which one would you choose to guard, if you had the option to choose?33:40 Garrett AtwellSimple question; who do you think is the strongest avenger? Personally, I think with Stormbreaker Thor is, but without probably captain marvel.34:20 AlexSean, what're your thoughts on the new Hellboy's failure? I'm sure you know already that the movie has a 15% Rotten Tomatoes score, and a ‘C' on Cinemascore and had a really abysmal opening weekend of only 12 million- opening third behind Shazam and a comedy.  And if you have seen it, what's your thoughts on the movie itself?40:47 Derek BeebeHey Sean, why are the ratings for Agents of SHIELD so abysmal?  The pilot did amazing numbers and everything dropped precipitously from there.  Why aren't more MCU fans wanting a weekly installment of their favorite franchise?  I've never missed an episode, though I will admit the show did not turn out to be what I had originally hoped for with costumed superheroes and villains guest-starring every week.50:45 Woo S! KimSean, do you consider Stan Lee's photos showing up in the Marvel Netflix's shows as cameos or Easter Eggs, I am more inclined to call them Easter Eggs, along this subject now that Mr. Lieber is dead would you like after “Avengers: Endgame” Mr. Lieber's photo to pop up in all Marvel media going forward not just in Marvel Television and or MCU related properties but in video games and comics as well, why or why not?54:40 Woo S! KimYou touched on this subject about two weeks ago on “The Daily Bugle” has your opening weekend viewing schedule been set or are you still attempting to work out the kinks in your schedule Sean?  Related to this, what format are you going to see first IMAX, IMAX 3-D, Dolby and how many times?57:00 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean you might have answered this already at one point but how different would the MCU be right now if Edward Norton and Terrance Howard were never recast?? I know one side effect is Norton would not have done as much indie movies as he does now, maybe Terrance Howard would not be in Empire as well. Thoughts??1:01:14 Jak SherlockHey Sean, I was watching Age of Ultron and realised Thor, Steve, Natasha and Tony all see their fears realised or memories that haunt them when they are manipulated by Scarlett Witch. However, we never get to see what Banner was seeing during his rampage. What do you think he was seeing or do you think Scarlett Witch only tapped into his rage? Thanks as always!1:03:38 Jeremy WatsonDo you think Scott Lang survived the snap because he was in the Quantum Realm or that he was just part of the half that survived? Maybe the Quantum Realm isn't affected by stones? Thanks1:04:58 AdamHey Sean. New to being a patreon and first time writing in. I have a couple of questions. First I don't know if you have already talked about this or thought about it but what are the chances of ultron showing up in endgame? Personally I would love it and think it would be really shocking if he did. We never did see what happened with him. Maybe he is in the mind stone. Second question do you know if it has been announced how many post credit scenes we are getting? Thanks for all your doing and cannot wait for the next episode and endgame #whateverittakes1:10:18 Chris CascioHi y'all. I was wanting to a simple behind the scenes question about how to review new upcoming movies and the planning process of from notes(how do you even take notes while watching) to podcast and about how much time that normally takes.1:23:59 Zachary KleinsasserHey Sean!! Hope all is well in your world! I was so happy to hear that the Marvel Disney+ Series will probably release one episode a week rather then a binge format! Between my wife, who has no interest in anything Marvel, and my 2 young children, I never have time to sit and watch an entire series all at once.  By the time I am able to finish a binge series season and discuss it, everyone has moved on.  I am very excited that I can, potentially, be in the conversations as they are happening.  Do you think you and Paul will do podcasts dedicated to each episode every week? I know you guys have pretty full schedules, but I would love to watch an episode and then hear your guy's thoughts the next day.  Thanks for everything you do!1:27:59 Alex WardHi Sean! This is just a meta question about spoiler culture in general--I have NOT seen the spoilers from Monday night. In light of the massive apparent leak from Endgame, do you believe in "controlled leaks", meaning Disney/Marvel Studios purposely leak stuff to the press or the internet-at-large to gauge audience interest or to build hype? If so, what are some examples of studios doing this in the past?1:31:00 AlexWhat do you make of Feige's comments regarding the Disney-Fox deal from that recent Variety article saying: "Imagine if Donald Duck was at another studio. Imagine if Goofy or Moana were someplace else and you didn't have access to them even though they are yours.”  What does that particular quote tell you about  Feige's feelings on  not having access to all the Marvel characters? I must admit I was a bit stunned that he phrased it that way. Particularly when he said when the character licensed  by other characters are truly his.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!6:25 AlexSean, does the restrictions on any spoiler questions extend to any upcoming non-MCU  Marvel movies like Dark Phoenix and New Mutants?7:56 David RosenHey Sean and Fellow Patrons, With only less than a month to go, it's feels good to know that now WE are finally in our end game. Sean, what future do characters who star in their own Disney+ series have in the movies? When we used to talk about why it was unlikely Coulson would appear again the MCU (at least in the present day), one of the reasons was that it would be too hard or take too long  to explain in a movie everything that had happened to him in Agents of Shield. Assuming that the characters who get Disney+ series end up going through some kind of arc in their shows so that they end up as different people by the time it's over, how would you explain that change or history to audiences who don't end up watching the Disney+ shows? Do you think we'll see much of the Disney+ characters in the future of the MCU, assuming they survive end game and/or their shows don't take place in the past, or is Disney+ going to end up as a “retirement home” of sorts for characters that had major roles up till now, but won't necessarily be integral to the future of the MCU, especially with all the new fox characters now in the mix? Do you see this being any similar to the Coulson issue, or is it not really an issue in your eyes?11:33 David RosenI want to follow up about an idea that was sparked listening to your discussion with Paul about Bucky being in the End Game. IF Cap is going to die in End Game and pass on the shield to someone else, I think/feel it should be Bucky (for a number of reasons I won't go into), but I also agree that it wouldn't make sense, especially with Captain Marvel filling the “captain” role, to establish a new Captain America right away. However, if Cap hands his shield off to Bucky right before he dies and Bucky reluctantly accepts it at the insistence of Cap, I feel like one of the main themes of the Disney+ show could then be Bucky wrestling with the decision of whether or not to take up the mantle of Captain America. Do you think something like this could work for carrying on Bucky's arc?14:07 AlexWould you be disappointed if there is no post-credit sequence  in Endgame?  I for one would be all for it since it would interesting subvert expectations by having this movie be the very first MCU movie ever to not feature a  post-credit sequence. Granted, you don't need to have omit a post-credit to send home that this is basically the series finale to one era of the MCU but I feel it would refreshing  to finally not have one post-credit sequence in these movies that hint at more installments to come. 17:29 David RosenI believe it was in answering one of the Alex's questions on the midweek Q&A that you talked about how Kevin Feige went to “superhero film school” in the way that his career ended up unfolding. Do you think there is something inherently different about making a good superhero film, as opposed to any old, regular action/adventure film and if so, what are some of those differences? Considering its length, complexity, and the amount of work it took to build to it, would you consider Avengers End Game Kevin Feige's “doctoral thesis” of superhero film school? Would you consider mastering superhero television his next “academic goal”, so to speak?24:54 Mookie JohnsonWhat MCU movie had you the most excited for it at the time it was announced? Which MCU movie have you enjoyed the journey to release day the most?30:08 Mookie JohnsonAre there any particular snap-reaction moments you want to see in Avengers Endgame? I personally really want see how Wakanda, but especially Angela Bassett's character Ramonda, reacts to the news that they just lost both of Royal Children to the snap.32:28 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean I was just wondering who else do you think could have played Thanos??33:56 Woo S! KimAnyone who knows me, knows that I am a big fan of Alex Ross' artwork and one of my favourite Marvel Comics is “Marvels” which of course Alex Ross did the artwork for, Sean what are your thoughts on “Marvels?”  Related to “Marvels” I would love to see that done in live action but since Marvel Studios has expressed interest and are planning the “What If” animated series, I believe what is more likely to happen is a two part “Marvels”  animated episode featuring MCU performers providing the voices, of their respective characters what say you, Sean?34:48 Woo S! KimThis is a non-issue for me because I intend to purchase all of the Marvel Studios films on physical disc once they are released Sean but I was just pondering something since the deal to give Marvel Studios access to Spider-Man says Marvel Studios handles almost if not all of the creative aspects of Tom Holland's Spider-Man films and Sony Pictures is in charge of the distribution does this mean we True Believers will not see any of Tom Holland's solo Spider-Man films on Disney Plus, why or why not?  Related to this, let's say for argument sake Apple did purchase Sony Pictures within the next two years and Disney were able to retain the rights to Spider-Man, does this mean every Sony Pictures produced Spider-Man project from 2002 to now will be owned by Disney or does Sony still retain the rights to those films since Sony produced those?39:27 Woo S! KimWhat do you think of the idea Sean, of Disney/Marvel Studios doing a type of “Saving Mr. Banks” involving the creation and rise of the “Marvel Age of Comics” would that be something you'd be interested in, why or why not?40:04 David RosenCould a long runtime of 3+ hours affect End Game's box office due to theaters not being able to have as many shows in a day, or do you think theaters will adjust their schedules to have as many screenings as possible due to the insane amount of hype and desire to see this movie? Also do you happen to know  if a movie's runtime includes the closing credits, as those can be anywhere from 5-10 minutes long, depending on the movie?43:16 AlexWhat do you expect Feige to say on the Endgame press tour when asked by journalists about the Disney-Fox deal now that the deal has closed?44:17 brentacPrimeTalking about characters who have appeared in at least three MCU movies (counting Endgame)... if I set the line at 3 people will die, would you take the over or the under?46:14 AlexSince Dark Phoenix takes place approximately a decade after Apocalypse do Mutants like Jean Grey don't look like they aged a day since  1983? Maybe all  Mutants(besides Wolverine of course) just age slower in the soon-to-be-defunct Fox X-verse?  I'm trying to make the best sense of this as I can here.  Why do you think the filmmakers would have such a huge time-skip happen between the end of Apocalypse and the start of  Dark Phoenix without bothering to try to put on some makeup or prosthetic  to make the actors look older?47:32 AlexDid you always feel that the MCU felt incomplete without the Fantastic Four? Do you think Feige understands the importance of the property therefore he will see to it its serviced properly on screen?50:26 Robert KlauserHope everyone is having a great weekend. There's the OP scenario that a lot of people have problems with in superhero films where the protagonist can be difficult for an audience to relate to because there's no huge risk or real sense of danger for characters that are basically invincible.  (Or they just say that because they're Carol Danvers haters) Seeing as how the Eternals are immortal, do you think the MCU versions of these characters will have their powers scaled back a bit or maybe in this new era of the MCU the Eternals are introduced with all of the same abilities as in the comics and used sparingly throughout other films?54:36 Alex WardSorry if you've answered this one, but what do you think Agent Sitwell meant when he warned Steve about Stephen Strange? I know Feige said it was just because Strange was a competent surgeon who could potentially be a threat one day, but I don't really buy it. Hydra is scared of... a surgeon? Anyway, do you think this is just a harmless Easter egg that doesn't warrant too much analysis?59:03 Alex WardDo you think the success of sub-franchises like Doctor Strange and Ant-Man have worked out to Marvel Studios' expectations? For example, it just doesn't feel like people are chomping at the bit for a Doctor Strange sequels. It makes me wonder how characters like the Eternals and Shang-Chi will fare in terms of developing audience anticipation for follow-up films. While I know Doctor Strange does appear to be getting a sequel, do you think that in this increasingly crowded universe, with a slate of only maybe 2-4 films per year, that some sub-franchises just won't get sequels, and that's okay?1:08:21 Alex WardMCU Cosmic reported a rumor that Hercules could be the male protagonist of the Eternals. That being said, I have a couple questions:1) How do you feel about the Greek mythology pantheon entering the fray? What are some ways the Marvel Greek gods/goddesses differ from the lore established in Aquaman and Wonder Woman for DC?2) Do you think Eternals and/or this potential Greek aspect would set up Marvel's Atlantis? 3) I know you like Angelina Jolie for Athena, but do you have any favorites for the casting of Hercules? I have heard the name Luke Evans, and I think he'd be perfect. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:34 Alex WardHey Sean! Happy Fox acquisition day! I may be remembering wrong, but did Disney immediately announce more films when they purchased Lucasfilm? If so, do you think that may be why so many fans are expecting an announcement from Marvel about an X-Men or FF movie's sooner than it'll actually happen? Also, if they did immediately announce new Star Wars films, how was that situation different from this one? Just that Star Wars films were a given? Thanks Sean!7:25 Robert KlauserMaybe the Gunn “leave of absence” could be a silver lining considering James Gunn had interest in characters previously owned by Fox in the past. What are your thoughts that there could be some rewrites for the GotG Vol 3 script to include said characters?10:03 Tom DeMicheleHey Sean and Patrons! I've been re-listening to all the Empire Spoiler Podcasts with MCU directors and creators. In the Civil War episode, the Russo's said they explored many options for the turning point of the airport fight before deciding on Giant-Man. What do you think were their previous options for swinging the fight in Team Cap's favor?12:12 Nick DiTotaHey Sean, I've been a part of the Patreon for about 3 months now and I just want to say that I think it's awesome! I love being able to listen every day while I'm at work. Over the past couple years I've gotten big into reading comics. I've never read any comics about the Eternals and with Marvel making an Eternals movie I'd like to read some to get to know the characters a little more. Do you have any recommendations as to a particular series to read? I figured to get to know them best go right to the source with Kirby's original series but I wanted your opinion. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for everything you do!14:00 Jeremy WatsonAt the end of Iron Man, when Fury is telling Stark that he's become part of a bigger world, we now know that he was referring to Captain Marvel. At that time (2008), do you think that Kevin Feige was referring to her or just the Marvel Universe in general? Thanks15:41 Derek BeebeHey Sean, I know you've talked about them doing Hickman's Secret War as an Avengers movie, but what I really want to see is what leads up to that story, Time Runs Out.  Our heroes struggling in vain against an impossible, universe ending threat, driven to increasingly immoral desperation.  I think this would make a great trilogy of Avengers movies, but how dark do you think our heroes could get in a major blockbuster?  And if they did Secret War, how much time do you think they'll spend with Battleworld?  Personally I thought that was the least interesting aspect of the series by far.  And of course, this entire story requires Doom to be in the MCU.19:37 Derek BeebeDo you regret we didn't get a "Secret Avengers" movie between Civil War and Infinity War, showing what life was like for Cap's team living in exile in Wakanda?  I think that would have been a great story.  And if we did have that movie, do you think they should have avoided putting Tony and Steve together?22:10 Derek BeebeDo you think we need a Captain Marvel 2 taking place before Miss Marvel in order to properly establish Carol as a modern day hero for Kamala Kahn to look up to?23:50 Derek BeebeWhat do you think the line up for Avengers 5 will be?  I'm assuming that none of the original team will be around, though I hope that's not true.  Captain Marvel will be team leader of course.   I'm thinking Black Panther, Ant-Man, Wasp, Doctor Strange... maybe Shang Chi and Sersi?  And do you think a line up like that would be as popular as the original?29:00 Chris FHey Sean! Happy merger day! Was really great to break the news on the discord about the trailer release. I actually had a moment where I was like I wonder if this is what Sean feels like when he's breaking marvel news for us!Also thanks for sharing your idea of a “meditation period” before marvel films. I finally had a chance to try it with captain marvel and it worked great. So my question for the week is since time travel seems to be a factor in endgame is their any particular scene from any past films you would like to see them go back to and change a bit?I for one would love to see the scene of Thor and Loki on the rocks in Germany where Thor knows Loki is dead in the future and it's a bit more emotional. Thanks again for creating this great community!30:50 AlexHappy Closing day Sean! May I ask do you forsee the MCU X-Men and Fantastic Four films having the 20th Centuary Fox logo are does that become null and void once Marvel is making the movies and not Fox?32:10 AlexDo you think anything will in the world of Marvel superheroes world will be as historic as the X-Men and Fantastic Four coming back home back to Marvel Studios or is it as good as it gets? I have a hard time imagining even Marvel eventually gaining the full rights to Spider-Man will be as huge as this considering Marvel already has used Spidey in the MCU before now.33:54 AlexYou've lamented before on the quality of Entertainment journalism in regards to reporting things that are Marvel related but do you worry it can be greatly exacerbated after the deal closes? I see a future of a lot of unsubstantiated rumors about Mutants and Fantastic Four emerging more than ever before.35:03 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean its amazing to realize that now the MCU  can be fully complete. I was wondering do you think we will have Masters of Evil sometime in the MCU as the next Avengers villains?? Do you think Doctor Doom could be the leader?? What other members would you add??37:18 AlexDo you think Marvel gets the rights to Fantastic Four might soften your stance on Fan4stic once you re-watch the movie again at some point(assuming you ever do?)39:14 AlexSean, have you seen Bumblebee yet?  What do you think about it? And if you have seen it and liked it then  do you now agree that Travis Knight would be a  suitable choice to helm FF? I know you have Dee Rees as your top choice to direct Fantastic Four but I think Knight would a fantastic job( dumb  pun intended) with the First Family. 39:54 Brett HeierHey Sean, did you like the all female ghostbusters movie? I loved it and I am very sad there won't be a sequel. Also, did you like Captain Phasma as a character? Do you think we will see her again in the Star Wars Universe? Sorry these questions weren't very centered around the MCU.41:13 Brett HeierHow many more years do you think Scarlet Witch will be in the MCU?41:58 AlexSean, do you think  the Deadpool moves become retroactively canon in the MCU when Wade Wilson enters the MCU or do you think its unlikely? Would you rather  keep Deadpool in his own universe separate form the MCU or are you  of the mindset that he can be integrated into the MCU with little problems.44:54 AlexDo you have any   strong picks for Doctor   Doom?45:37 Jeremy WatsonSean, in the spirit of March Madness, who would your top 4 seeds be out of the major MCU players? Thanks!47:59 Jessica LoutfiHey Sean. Given that the Russo brothers are famous for adding things into their trailers that aren't in the movies...what do you think they added to the new trailer that may not be in Avengers Endgame? Thanks!49:30 Woo S! KimI happen to think Inhumans and Daredevil are the most underrated creations of Stan Lee's iconic career, do you concur, if you don't what do you think is his most underrated creation or creations, Sean?51:14 Woo S! KimIronically enough Sean, there is going to be a lot of What If Questions involving the “What If” Disney Plus animated series so please forgive the puns.  Now let's say for argument sake Disney wanted to do a “What If” episode or episodes that involve Tom Holland's Spider-Man can Marvel Studios/Disney do this or is Tom Holland's Spider-Man technically with Sony Pictures?  Related to Spider-Man do you feel that this “What If” Animated Series is Marvel Studios way of metaphorically dipping their toe into the pool of animation if they get the rights back to Spider-Man in the next two years or perhaps Marvel Studios wanting to release other Marvel characters in animated films released in cinemas that have nothing to so with Spider-Man, could this be the case why or why not?54:29 Woo S! KimIf you ever had the chance to interview Stan Lee did you have any questions you always wanted to ask him, me personally I would just spent the time thanking him for creating Daredevil.55:36 Matt MillerDo you think with the merger closing today thay Marvel studios will rearrange some of their plans and get the FF and X-men movies out before ones currently being planned/ones that are rumored?59:26 David RosenWith all the new properties coming over, and all the likely reboots that are going to happen, how do you foresee Marvel Studios adhering to their “no more origin stories” rule? While we will need some explanation, what do you think the amount of origin we'll get for the characters coming over from Fox? With the Fantastic Four and their fairly well-known origin specifically in mind, do you think it's possible to do something similar like they did with Spiderman, or will they need the classic origin story treatment to get them started? As the MCU continues to grow beyond End Game, and with all the new characters that will be introduced, what is the correct balance the MCU needs to strike in telling new characters' origins so that audiences don't start to get bored and look past the first films for all the upcoming characters?1:01:54 David RosenI know I thought this after the End Game super bowl spot, and I honestly cant remember if I, or some else asking about it then, but considering that the most recent trailer included flashbacks in black and white with the red highlights again, do you think there is more going on here than it just being a stylistic choice?1:03:27 David RosenOne of the reasons that I felt Captain Marvel was so different and refreshing from the rest of the MCU was the lack of an obvious love interest. Why is it that having a love interest has become such a staple of storytelling in the superhero genre? Was it a product of the times that these stories were being written in that the male hero had to have a woman to save and/or fall in love with? Do you think moving forward, Marvel should leave the obligatory, one-off love story behind in favor of other ways of developing characters or will it always be one of those story aspects that we'll just need to deal with sometimes because love is just a part of life?1:08:27 David RosenIn the discussion about whether Captain Marvel is too powerful in the MCU, regardless of whether or not we actually get to see this tested in a movie, if you consider that Wanda is able to use her energy to destroy the Mind Stone, do you think Captain Marvel could be defeated by a Hydra weapon, as they both draw their power from the Tesseract?1:10:38 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and everyone, hope you're all having a good week so far. Sean, pop quiz time! A quick question following your Captain Marvel conversations about the use of Nirvana when Carol went up against the Supreme intelligence (although I agree totally with you that it gets a pass because it's a terrific song!). Because I'm a weird completist about these things (!) I'm interested to know what alternative song you'd use, that fits with the ‘pre-1989 Carol leaving Earth' chronology and therefore not necessarily being aware of that song!In the grand scheme of things, this of course didn't ruin my enjoyment of the movie in any way, but I love to dot the i's and cross the t's..!Thanks as always, and enjoy the rest of your week.1:13:47 Jeremy WatsonSean, with the Fox/Disney acquisition complete, do you foresee any changes to some of Fox's tv content, such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc?1:17:11 Robert ReinekeHi Sean. There's some speculation that the latest Endgame trailer includes fake scenes and images that were deliberately altered from what will appear in the actual movie, ala Hulk in Wakanda. Now, I realize that no trailer is the actual movie, with trailers often featuring temp music, scenes and line readings that may end up on the editing floor, incomplete special effects, etc. Not to mention the fact that editing a 2 to 3 hour movie into a 2 minute spot is a deliberate act of distortion, all sizzle, all the time, albeit usually not on the level of trying to make The Shining look like a feel good family film or Christopher Robin look like a horror film. But, I feel that most trailers aren't trying to deliberately lie to me. Is a line being crossed here? I know Jean Luc Godard said that "Cinema is truth at 24 frames per second." and Brian DePalma retorted "Cinema is lies at 24 frames per second." and I'm much more in the DePalma camp, but I feel that I never like to be deliberately lied to. Yeah, I expect it won't ruin my enjoyment of the film any, but we have to hold the creators we like to the same  standards we hold those we don't like.  Did showing the Hulk in Wakanda ad one cent to the box office? I don't think so. Plus, I also feel that it's unnecessary in a film where you have 3 hours of footage and over 20 films to draw footage from, and a few seconds can't be that important. And I feel that this is a trend that ought to be nipped in the bud before it gets out of control, like digitally inserting Avengers into trailers for Eternals. Do you devalue the trailer by making them wholly unreliable? What do you think of the ethics of lying in trailers beyond "caveat emptor"?1:23:49 Angel L AshbyHey there Sean! Do you think that Disney/MCU set the timeline for the Disney/Fox deal so that it would be finalized before Endgame came out and do you believe that there will be a teaser for FF or Xmen in Endgame? Or do you think that Endgame will.. end.. in such a way that it sets up for X-men to be a new introduction in to the universe? (I hope that made sense.) Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:51 AdineAny thoughts on similarities between the memory examining technology that the Skrulls used on Carol, to Tony's BARF technology?2:02 AlexSean,  this is the last Q &A before  the Fox deal closes! On to my question, do you think Lance Reddick would make for a good Silver Surfer?  He's a great actor who've adored in shows like the Wire and Lost and I feel he would be a good fit for the Herald Of Galactus.3:02 Xavier ArquerosHello Sean and all the patrons, I was blown away by the last Avengers Endgame trailer. I can't believe we are so close to this movie. I have a theory on what's the first hour or hour and a half of the movie, but I have no clue about what comes next: I think the Avengers assemble with Tony, Nebula and Carol and they go together to find and defeat/kill Thanos, in the battle they succeed but some or almost all of the infinity stones are destroyed. That's when the time elapses comes and we flash forward a few weeks when Natasha finds Clint, when Scott gets out of the Quantum Real, and they get together and start working on a plan to use the Quantum Tunnel to travel Through time. That's all I've got. Clearly Thor and Carol are off Earth with their galaxy business. Do you think this a reasonable way of begin the movie or am I way off? And you have some idea about what enemies or circumstances they would face and what will be Thor and Carol doing off world? I just can't wait for this movie, I need to try and speculate...  Thanks and Cheers everyone!7:34 Xavier ArquerosAh, an other question about the Dr. Doom movie, wouldn't it be could that Von Doom just take control over Sokovia and rename it Latveria? That would be a great connection with Wanda and the avengers, and that way you don't have to make up an other easter european country. Would be cool if he was a brilliant scientist that also went to Kamartaj and learned from the Ancient one, that way you can connect him to Dr. Strange too. But I want this movie, I hope Kevin Feige takes a good look on that Noah script and if it's good bring him on board on the MCU! Thanks again!10:13 Alex WardHey Sean! Hope you had a great week! I just have a couple for this weekend: 1) Do you think Carol is immortal? What is your current theory for how she stayed young through Endgame? 11:38 Alex Ward2) Do you think Carol may have returned to Earth before Endgame, or has she really been in space all this time?12:15 Alex Ward3) Do you think Endgame will adapt any more elements of Infinity Gauntlet, or will it mostly be telling its own story at this point?13:30 AlexSean,  do you mind if I  ask a DC question that relates to Marvel? Captain Marvel has  surpassed Wonder Woman's domestic opening weekend and overall worldwide  opening and it looks like it will be inevitable  that Vers first solo will outgross  Diana's first solo   movie overall so can I ask what's your theory as to why its the case?  Do you think BvS was one of the reasons WW wasn't more successful  and if BvS was a better movie  and well liked by audiences do you think Wonder Woman would've done better numbers?17:26 AdineOn my way to the theater last Thursday for Captain Marvel opening night I was catching up on some day Daily Bugles and the most recent Black Widow news got me thinking... Especially after watching CM, I realize I haven't been too excited for BW, because as a prequel, I didn't imagine that it would advance the greater MCU storyline much. Obviously I was wrong, and I realize now I wasn't expecting the ways in which CM advanced the story either, like with the Tesseract, and “launching” the Avengers Initiative. I'm wondering now, how do you think Black Widow might add to what we know about the MCU timeline? Do you think it's likely to delve back into something like an Infinity Stone connection post Endgame? Or do you think it might plant a seed for next phase of the MCU?19:18 Woo S! KimIf you are betting man and I trust your judgement always have really, after "The Eternals" now that the Disney FOX deal is nearing an official close is an Fantastic Four and or X-Men film to follow "The Eternals" or  do you think Doctor Strange 2, "Shang Chi," and the sequel to "Black Panther come out well before Mutants and Marvel's First Family?21:07 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean thanks for all the episodes lately, I have so much to listen to now lol. Anyways my question is how angry do you think Thanos will be when the Avengers undo The Decimation?? Like say everyone comes back and all is well and there is a final battle, its just Thanos without the Gauntlet, I imagine he wont be happy, and its a chance to see Thanos truly angry. Thoughts??22:10 Woo S! KimThis is just a general question, Sean do you dislike the redesign of the Patreon website it looks so Meh now?23:24 Woo S! KimIf you had 45 minutes to an hour to interview Kevin Feige post Disney/FOX merger what five questions would you ask him? (they don't have to be about The Disney/FOX merger.)26:12 Woo S! KimI try to be, one of those fans that isn't screaming out to the top of my lungs for networks/studios to resurrect TV Shows Sean.  But I really think/want “Agent Carter” to be resurrected on Disney Plus mainly because the show ended on a cliffhanger also being that the show is a period piece one could pick up the show anywhere from where the show ended off in the second season up to the mid to late 1970's unless one wants to show an older Peggy Carter, like we True Believers saw in the prologue of “Ant-Man” what is the likelihood in your mind in let's say two to three years Marvel TV/Marvel Studios could bring back “Agent Carter” on Disney Plus or  on Hulu, thanks Sean.28:25 AlexWhy do you think Marvel is the bigger international brand than DC? Marvel movies especially in China tend to out-gross DC films. Aquaman made a big splash there(pun not intended) but as a whole DC films don't overall don't do good as their Marvel counterparts. Do you think DC can be a strong brand like Marvel is internationally or is it too late?32:23 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and everyone, hope you're all recovering from the MCU explosion of greatness we've had this week!  I've had a quick scroll through the questions here (some crackers, as always folks - good work!) and Captain Marvel and Endgame seem well covered, so a quick question about James Gunn being rehired for GOtG3 if I may. This is excellent news, it shows common sense and some new perspective from Disney, and I'm very happy with this. Kevin Feige has potentially played the long game here, keeping a dignified and professional approach when asked publicly about this, but perhaps working quietly behind the scenes within Disney to champion and secure James Gunn return?  What do you think his role in this return may have been? Thanks for your time in advance, looking forward to listening in to the Q&A and enjoy your weekend.40:06 AlexSean, what are the chances of Feige tweeting  something to the effect of hashtag "Welcome Back Home First Family and Merry Mutants  to confirm he has the rights either on the date of closure or after that day?41:39 Robert KlauserWhat's up fellow patrons and Sean? It's been an awesome week for MCU fans. With Gunn being reinstated, do you think it was for the purpose of just finishing up the Guardians trilogy or will he be around to help with the cosmic aspects of the MCU like what was stated before?43:50 AlexIs James Gunn being rehired to do Guardians Vol. 3 the most shocking  Entertainment news of 2019? Do you think Feige was still vouching for him to direct and played a role in convincing Alan Horn to reverse his decision?45:15 AlexWhen James Gunn returns to direct Guardians Vol. 3 the Fox-Deal will have long since been  complete and Gunn will have access to all  Mutant and Fantastic Four related  characters so do you think  he'll be open to tweaking   his initial script in order to include those characters whether it be Silver Surfer or Galactus if it fits his overall story or do you think Gunn will stick to his guns(bad pun intended) and adhere mostly to his original story that he would've done if the Fox-deal never happened?47:13 Danyon RamsayAnother of my favourite content creators, Mr Sunday Movies, mentioned in his video about the new trailer that he had heard a rumour (and he emphasises that it was only a rumour) that the Russos had only made 8 mins of footage of Avengers Endgame available for the trailer. Do you think that this is likely to be true, and, if so, is this sort of control over marketing common for directors to have?49:24 Woo S! KimIn your point of view, Sean do you believe because of James Gunn's future with Marvel Studios having ended at the time production wrapped on "Avengers: End Game," do you think there will be story issues concerning The Guardians of The Galaxy now that James Gunn has been rehired?  Or do you think Markus, Mcfeely, The Russos, and Feige had the story for "Infinity War" and "End Game" on lock before all this nonsense occurred with James Gunn so the story of "End Game" wouldn't have been effected at all no matter James Gunn status with Marvel Studios?51:29 AlexSean, what's your thoughts about Fox executuives saying the Disney/Fox merger is hurting the Dark Phoenix film and what do you specifically think about this quote specifically from a frustrated marketing executive for Dark Phoenix: "Nobody has come around and said, 'This is what's going on.' Why can't they just tell us that there is no place for us? Why can't they let anyone know?" "We are not leaving because we didn't make money for the company or we did a bad job. We are leaving because of pure capitalism." See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!4:37 Alex WardHey Sean! I have a couple Fox X-Men questions before that iteration of the franchise is gone forever. 1) Is there any part of you that's excited to see Dark Phoenix just knowing it's the last time we'll see this version of the characters? While the marketing has been lackluster, they truly have the freedom to do anything with these characters, knowing this is the last time they'll be working with these characters. Does the "nothing left to lose" idea excite you about this movie at all? Also, do you think there will be anything in this film that will sort of indirectly nod toward a "goodbye" message or something, sort of how TLJ had a lot of meta-messages to the audiences? I.e. "Let the past die; kill it if you have to."9:40 Alex WardDid you see the interview with Sophie Turner where she (bravely) admits that she won a recent role over a better actress simply due to the fact that she had more followers on social media? Do you think this was Dark Phoenix? What do you think about this concept of casting, and do you think star power is something studios like Fox, as opposed to Disney, are overly concerned with, and maybe that contributes to their wavering success?13:43 Woo S! KimI have been doing some research Sean on some of the more cosmic beings in Marvel Comics do you think in “The Eternals,” “Fantastic Four,” “Guardians of The Galaxy,” or if Mr. McKay does get to his Silver Surfer film will there ever be references and will we ever see The Fulcrum or The One Above All in the MCU? My biggest issue with either of these is people that aren't hardcore geeks will obviously think and or say “Where were these two when Thanos turned half the universe to ash?”15:24 Woo S! KimThinking back to 2012-2013 what did you think was more likely to happen as a result of the success of Marvel Studios, Spider-Man coming home first like most people did and in a way that's how that went down or X-Men and Fantastic Four? Did you ever think back in the day what is happening now, was going to happen potentially this quickly?17:40 Woo S! KimWhat I have seen from people on the internet and this is not a spoiler that Phil Coulson's appearance in “Captain Marvel” was well received, how likely of a possibility do you believe that Coulson will be brought back into the MCU films and if he does, the character may not even hint at Agents of SHIELD, my feeling is Kevin Feige really likes the character of Phil Coulson and the performer Clark Gregg because there is no real story reason to bring Coulson into “Captain Marvel,” what are your thoughts?21:13 AlexSean, what do you make of Kinberg's lastest comments about the Disney-Fox deal and its possible implications on the future of the franchise? Kinberg pointed out he's pals with Feige so I wonder if Feige would bring him on board the MCU X-Men as a producer or do you think there's no chance in hell Mr. Kinberg is touching the property  in anyway again  after Dark Phoenix? 23:38 AlexKevin Feige has said that Captain Marvel is the strongest person in the MCU. But do you ever see that changing thanks to the Fox-deal and the numerous other powerful characters that Marvel will be getting back after it closes like Silver Surfer &  Galactus?25:10 AlexWhat aspect of the Fantastic Four and X-Men comics that you never loved  and hope the MCU either avoids or improves on?26:39 AlexSean, would you say the marketing for Dark Phoenix has been the strangest and worst you've seen in superhero movies(or does that honor still go to Fan4stic) and do you think the Disney-Fox deal has played a factor in how Fox has chosen to market the film? It really feels to me that this movie is never going to come out. I mean can you think from the top of your head an example of a director confirming a death that people already suspected immediately after the trailer comes out. It's really quite baffling.30:59 David RosenHi Sean, I've been thinking about the Oscars and Black Panther's no win for Best Picture. As you talked about in the lead up to the Oscars, the fact that BP won a number of other awards which were voted on by people who also happened to be voting members of the Academy, like the SAG award for Best Ensemble for example, led you to believe that BP had a very good chance of winning Best Picture. Do you think it's possible that either 1) those voters voted for BP for those awards because maybe they had a feeling that as good as it was, in other Academy voters' minds, it's still a comic book movie and therefore didn't really stand a good chance to win, and so they wanted to make sure that it got recognized somehow and/or 2) in terms of awards, The Oscars are still considered a step above all other awards in prestige, so even though it may have been “acceptable” for a comic book movie to win other awards, the mere fact that it's a comic book movie made it undeserving of Hollywood's biggest honor? Just to be clear, I don't subscribe to any of these ideas myself. A great movie should be recognized as such, regardless of its genre. I'm just trying to get inside some of these people's heads.39:23 BenHey Sean! It seems like Marvel is truly embracing diversity for the new era. It's extremely exciting to me how fast they may go from being a really straight white male centric franchise, to possibly the most diverse franchise in Hollywood. I do think that Marvel is going to pay a price for this though. I think many of people will drop off, either because they are racist/sexist/homophobic, or they are only interested in the traditional old school characters. But I also think that a new, more diverse, fanbase will rise to replace them. What are your thoughts on the coming changes at Marvel, and the possible changes in the Marvel fanbase?43:53 BenDo you think the gay character in Eternals could be Hercules? He was known to have male lovers in Greek mythology.45:00 AdineOn the Midweek Q&A, someone asked about the possibility of a Collector/GrandMaster limited series. I just wanted to share that there is an Infinity War tie-in novel that features the two with the sort of brotherly rivalry type story you were describing. The series is called AIW: Cosmic Quest. I'm about half way through the audio book, and the reader does a great job of imitating the characters' on screen performances. I know this isn't nearly as great as a limited series would be, but it might still scratch that itch for someone who just wants to spend more time with these two45:46 AlexSean, what do you think is the secret to the Marvel's success? Why are they more consistent than other studios  like Warners, Sony, and Fox  who also make superhero films? And do you think Warner Bros and Sony will be able to achieve Marvel's good quality streak going forward?50:22 AlexDo you think Marvel could pull off either an X-Men and Fantastic Four trilogy without use of the archemeies of their respective franchises like Magneto and Doctor Doom. Would you personally be disappointed if Marvel refrains from using them in the trilogies. Opting instead to introduce those character in other movies outside FF and X-Men films.53:07 Alex WardSo I finally got my girlfriend to agree to see Captain Marvel and Endgame with me. We obviously can't get through all the MCU before then, and I know Captain Marvel will at least be pretty standalone, but what movies do you think are the most important to watch before each? Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:24 brentacPrimeGreetings. Now that you've seen Captain Marvel are you ready to give a box office projection?2:25 brentacPrimeAs I rewatch the MCU (just finished Ragnarok) I wonder, are there any previous MCU directors you'd like to see come back for future MCU movies?6:25 Xavier ArquerosHello Sean and fellow Patrons! You have inspired me for many years to try and create my own podcast, but I was waiting for a co-host and some collaborators, and the time has finally come. In a few weeks (I hope) to begin podcasting and I'm very excited about it (and terrified). Don't worry it's going to be in Spanish so even in the extremely rare case that we succeed we won't be fighting for the same audience. So I'm going to do the cliché of asking for some advice. I'm not a big fan of doing this but your insight is more valuable to me than every guide on YouTube/internet. Just two main concerns: How much content and how often to make it do you think is the best way to start a podcast (it's going  to be about movie news and reviews mainly) and finally what hosting service do you recommend to use if our intention is to make the podcast and all its episodes available all over the globe? Thanks very much Sean and If I ever get to be half of what you are as a host I'm going to be very proud!!! Cheers.13:07 David RosenHey Sean, Hope you enjoyed the hell out of Captain Marvel! My anticipation for this movie is through the roof right now after seeing all the glowing reactions on Twitter. I know you can't (and won't) tell us anything specific, but would you say that the movie answered all of the questions you had going in? Are you satisfied with how the movie fits into what the MCU has already established?14:20 BenHey Sean! Most of the people who have seen Captain Marvel are praising the 90's soundtrack, but how was the Pinar Toprak score? What score, Marvel or otherwise, would you compare it to?15:20 BenSpeaking of scores, what is the MCU's most underrated score? I have to go with Doctor Strange.18:52 AlexSean, without giving too many details,  would you say that Captain Marvel is one of the more emotional Marvel films? Did  you ever come close to choking up at the film?19:59 AlexWhat prior Marvel movie do you think Captain Marvel is most similar to in terms of tone?20:25 Alex WardDo you think if Tony survives Endgame and presumably retires, that he will go into hiding with his family? It's hard to imagine he'd be very safe (both from villains and his heroic urges) if he remains in the public eye.25:16 MayaHey Sean, one of my favorite YouTube channels that discuss marvel theories is E-man's Movie Reviews. Eman recently dropped a video entitled “The Infinity Stones are controlling Thanos in Avengers Endgame” and he makes a lot of interesting points about how the stones have proven to be sentient. He had a theory about how Thanos could have been influenced by the stones, starting with the mind stone, which lead to his destructive ways, much like how Loki was influenced negatively by the mind stone in the first Avengers. What I find confusing about the MCU's use of the infinity stones is there are no overarching or consistent cans/can't dos. Like someone asked in the last midweek q&a question, if one was destroyed what would that mean for the universe? Does destroyed reality stone mean no reality since it is an “elemental crystal”? We saw that there were no visible changes to the universe when the mind stone was destroyed temporarily. Also, are they controlled by whoever has them in their possession or are they truly sentient. Even the fact that the soul stone banishes Red Skull for seeking the stones, but allows Thanos to control it them seems inconsistent. Maybe I'm just very detailed oriented, but I can think of so many ways the stones have had conflicting abilities and limitations. Even though I love concept of stones and the build up to bringing them all together, I feel like Marvel describes them as being able to do everything, but places random abilities and limitations that create a confusing and inconsistent understanding of the stones. In other words, I have a hard time figuring out what they can/can't do. Do you feel the same way? Do you think we will see a more unified explanation of the stones in Endgame?37:52 Woo S! KimFor argument sake let's say Sony does sell the rights to Spider-Man to Disney within the next two years, Jeph Loeb and Marvel Entertainment are the ones that worked with the creative team on “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse,” what are the chances a Spider-Verse sequel goes directly to Hulu as a Hulu exclusive or do you think that sequel will go to the cinemas first?   Do you also think the rumblings on the internet of these spin off films such as Spider-Gwen may go to Hulu? If Sony sells Spidey back to Disney, Spider-Verse will not hurt the chances in your view of Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen potentially coming to the MCU, correct?41:52 Woo S! KimI found something very interesting Sean, when you discussed in your “Iron Man is in the Endgame now” episode that you did with Paul.  You spoke of Iron Man's regression in that episode throughout his time in the MCU, I am ninety percent sure the reason why Iron Man takes Spidey's Stark Industries suit is in “Spider-Man Homecoming” is because when Peter Parker says to Tony Stark, “I just want to be like you” and Tony replies with and “I wanted you to be better.”  This goes along with what you were saying about regression, Spider-Man taking things into his own hands and putting people in danger on that ferry is what Iron Man did in Malibu when he told The Mandarin and his henchmen his home address and put Ms. Potts in danger. Related to Iron Man's regression do you think that one of the reasons why Howard doesn't get along with his son is because much how Spider-Man is a reflection to Iron Man and his past mistakes and arrogant attitude, Tony is Howard's reflection and a reminder of Howard's mistakes and flaws because it's no accident that Dominic Cooper's Howard acts very much like how Tony behaves in the MCU?  45:28 Woo S! KimMarvel Studios is known for their comedy, but there are some lines that I know just looking at the screenplay were not meant to be as funny as they were what are some of these lines for you, Sean?  Me personally Black Panther yelling Erik Stevens Wankadian name and him just replying “What's up?” Also, Eitri telling Thor in “Avengers: Infinity War” the heat from the star will kim and Thor saying “Only if I die.”  Eitri's reply of “Yes, that's what killing you means...” and the look of confusion on his face as he says that line just cracks me up. Do you have some favourite lines like these, Sean?47:09 Alex WardBelieve it or not, I have scraped the bottom of the barrell and I actually have another Reed Richards question! This time it's about his powers. There's no question his intellect has outweighed his elasticity powers in the comics. Do you think Marvel Studios will come up with some cool ideas on how to make his power set more prominent in the films? Do you think they'll take any cues from the way Elastigirl was handled in the Incredibles films? Or do you think they might adapt the Ultimates route, which tied in Reed's elasticity to his brain, giving his mind the ability to expand far beyond a typical human?48:37 Alex WardAs a huge MCU fan, what's the press screening process like? Is it just like seeing a movie with fans? Do you people still react the same, like cheering or laughing at big moments? And are there snacks? I've just always wondered!52:01 Moonie HassanHey Sean, I loved your reaction to Captain Marvel and I can't wait to see Carol kick ass on the big screen, one thing I've been thinking about is do you feel like Marvel are going to pull a "Superman in Justice League" moment? Where she comes in and saves the day in Endgame, and if she does how would you feel about it? I personally wouldn't want to see that as we've been watching the OG Avengers for pretty much 10 years now and I feel like it would be cheap to have Carol just come in and fix everything but I still want her to have a pivotal movement/roll, how do you think they'll go about her roll without being too much of a deus ex machina/mary sue like Vision in Age Of Ultron which I wasn't a big fan of. Thank you :)53:40 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean I was just wondering what are your thoughts on Avengers 5?? Do you think it will be called New Avengers and a new franchise or just keep calling the Avengers?? What do you think the roster will be?? What kind of villains should they face?? And do you think sometime down the line we will get a big Avengers/Fantastic Four/X-Men crossover???56:07 Alex WardI know you've said in the past that Disney can't start planning for Fox properties until the deal is done, but can't they have come up with stuff on a contingency-type basis, maybe even before the deal even became possible? Or are any ideas likely to remain strictly in Kevin Feige's head? It's hard for me to imagine that he doesn't have any vague outlines typed out, but I also understand that the legality of this stuff can be very serious.58:26 David RosenSomeone on the mid-week Q and A asked that great question about whether each infinity stone actually controls its respective element in the universe, and I apologize to that person for forgetting who it was, but it got me thinking. Of all the possible fundamental elements of the universe, matter seems like a pretty big one. How come we don't have a "Matter Stone" (aside from the fact that the writes didn't make one)? Is there another stone, or combination or stones, that you think could be used to control matter? Whatever happens to the stones in Avengers Endgame, what do you think about one day getting a story about an elusive, undiscovered seventh stone that is somewhere out there in the universe. As the number seven holds special meaning in a lot of different cultures and creation myths, wouldn't having a seventh stone out there somehow make sense on a grand, universal scale? Do you think doing another story about an infinity stone would have too much of a “been there, done that” aspect? Thoughts?1:01:27 David RosenIf/When the MCU actually decides to do a complete and total reboot YEARS, or perhaps even a decade or two down the line, what do you think some of the struggles might be with coming up with new story ideas? It seems like a lot of the major, most popular stories from the comics have been mined in one way or another for story content, and it would seem foolish and boring to try and redo any of that. Additionally, I feel like an attempt at retelling any of the origin stories would result in some of the same criticism that Amazing Spiderman got for doing that. It seems like one option might be to just begin a new MCU right in the middle of its history, but then we're looking at what the DCEU tried to do. Between all these potential issues, what do you think a rebooted MCU could do that would be original and wouldn't retread on anything that the current version is doing. Is a rebooted universe even possible, or when this current version's time has run out, should Marvel wait a little bit and instead do some one-off standalone movies before deciding to build back up a new universe. What are your thoughts?1:08:07 AlexSean, I would like to apologize  for annoying the hell out of you with with constant paranoia about China/Brazil so allow me to indulge in more of it one last time with this question: It seems you were right once again  and it seems like Disney will indeed be divesting the Fox sports assets that have been a cause of concern for both of the Brazilian and Mexican regulators in order to win approval. Prior to this news, it was announced that the Brazilian regulators will finally reach a decision  on the Disney/Fox deal so it seems like it's on its way to conditional approval from Mexico and Brazil. Do you think after those hurdles are cleared the deal is pretty much closed or are there more hurdles on the way?1:09:23 David RosenDo you think that the Inhumans failure ruined the chances for any future TV series from Marvel TV or Studios to premiere in IMAX theaters before jumping to the small screen? It seems like this idea would have been perfect for the upcoming Disney+ limited series as audiences are already familiar with those characters and used to seeing them on the big screen. It also sells audiences on Disney+ (if they aren't already sold) if they showed a great first episode in theaters and then the only way to watch the rest would be to get the service. Do you think it's possible we could see that experiment tried again with a series that has a better chance of being successful?1:12:07 Vincent GomezHey Sean! This is a little off topic of Marvel but I was curious. Your podcast sounds extremely professional. Can you tell us what equipment and software you use? How long does it take you to produce the show? Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:23 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean I was just barely listening to your Shanlian on Batman guest appearance episode in which y'all discuss the 10 year anniversary of TDK. First of all that episode was great! TDK has a special place in my heart because it's the film that made me fall in love with “geek”/pop culture! After that film and in anticipation of TDKR is where I found MMM and you, amongst other podcast about similar topics. So I wasn't around for the build up to TDK and wasn't a part of the ARG for that film. So that episode was a great chronicle of events leading up to that film, thank you! My questions are:1. Why do you think no other Superhero/Comic book film has not done an ARG similar to TDK? I know TDKR did one but it doesn't sound like it was on the level it was for TDK. 06:51 Hector Giovanni Navarrete2. I know you mention in that episode that no other ARG was as big or as detailed as TDK's. While I agree it's one of the most popular ones out there, the only one that, to me, can truly rival that one is the 1st Cloverfield movies' ARG. I wasn't really following this stuff at that time, but it seems like that one was also as big and detailed. It seems that this film's ARG wasn't as popular/well known as TDK's. I know that the Cloverfield fan group is a “cult” fandom (not in a bad way, just in regards to size). I love the Cloverfield franchise, was let down by Cloverfield Paradox but the first 2 were great! What's your opinion on them? I think you've mentioned before that you liked the 1st one directed by Matt Reeves.08:03 Hector Giovanni Navarrete3. Lastly I feel like Nolan was also starting a type of trend in superhero cinema of having a villain prologue before jumping into the crux of the stories (examples: TDK & TDKR). I know some superhero films have done a sort of prologue of sorts, although not necessarily of villains per say more like about main characters/parents (examples Ant-Man & The Wasp, ASM 1). Although Civil War did have a good short one about Winter Soldier and Tony's parents. Do you like when there are prologues to movies, more specifically to superhero movies, and why do you think they can be effective? Also do you like when they are integral to the story or just sort of add some context to the bigger story? Would you like more films in the genre to do more prologues?10:30 Derek BeebeWhat do you think was the best year of multiple Marvel movie releases?  I think it's 2018; Black Panther, Infinity War, and Ant-Man Wasp were all excellent!  11:47 Derek BeebeWhat year do you think had the biggest quality gap between movies?  My pick is 2016.  I really loved Civil War, but I thought Doctor Strange was merely good.12:32 Derek BeebeWhat are the best Marvel movies to get in 4K?13:45 Derek BeebeI've been reading the Abnett/Lanning run of cosmic comics from Annihilation to Conquest to War of Kings to the Thanos Imperative.  What was your favorite storyline of these?15:12 Phillip CastroHey Sean, great job on the content as always! I apologize if this has already been touched on but I wanted to ask your thoughts on whether or not you can see Ghost possibly playing a significant role in Endgame beyond rescuing Scott from the Quantum Realm?16:23 AlexWhy do you think Video game related movies don't work as movies as well as comic book/novel adaptations? And can you ever see a good and successful  video game movie ever being made? 20:17 Woo S! KimI used to purchase the Marvel Collector Corps from Funko for my little sisters and they love them.  Although, I feel since Funko partnered with Amazon starting with the Deadpool 2 Collector Corps box the quality of the exclusive items has gone down, this is the main reason I don't purchase them any longer, I believe in giving the people I love great gifts.  Do you still get the Marvel Collector Corps boxes and if you have, what are your thoughts on the boxes in the last six months or so?22:35 Woo S! KimSean is it true in one version of the Six-One-Six Marvel Universe that The Eternals were responsible for the creation of Mutants and would you like to be the explanation of how Mutants are in the MCU, why or why not?24:17 Woo S! KimThis is going to be a tough question, but I wanted your point of view, Sean.  Of the three MCU characters that have had trilogies Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man who do you think have had the most compelling transformative arcs that you have enjoyed the most and why, this includes things we've seen in team-ups.25:27 Alex WardDo you think Black Widow will have a male or female villain? While I want the villain to be a woman so we can have more representation in the MCU, I also think she deserves to go up against a prestige mainstream villain like Taskmaster. What are some female villains you'd like to see in the Black Widow movie, or possibly gender-bent male villains?27:10 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean how do you think they will do Deadpool 3?? Ryan Reynolds said it would be very different, do you think they will incorporate the previous two into the MCU as is or make it a pocket universe? I know it might confuse the audience but we will see. Also when do you think they will release it?29:45 Jordan BentleyHey Sean! Assuming that we lose certain Avengers in Endgame, be it to retirement or deaths, do you think we will get characters like Riri who will pick up the mantle, or will they just let those characters rest for a while?33:03 AlexWho's  your top choices for Johnny Storm? I like the idea of Lucas Hedges(who's the same age as Tom Holland) or  Dacre Montgomery who I liked a lot in Stranger Things season 2. And out of these two suggestions that I have given  which actor out of these two do you think would suit the role more over the other?34:39 AlexI know he's recently been rumored for the Caped Crusader but do you think Richard Madden would be a good fit for everybody's favorite Elastic genius Dr. Reed Richards?  I think Madden is a good actor based off what I've seen of him in the Netflix The Bodyguard and I feel Mr. Madden has a strong resemblance to the original Jack Kirby rendition of Reed from the comics.35:44 AlexSean,  you are quite familiar with my paranoia/worry about certain markets like China blocking the deal but now I have a  big  concern that Brazil might potentially be the roadblock that might prevent the deal from becoming a reality. Apparently Iger recently  had a meeting with Brazilian regulators in order to explain the value of the deal and it ended without any agreement being reached. How do you see this playing out, Sean?  The fact that Iger has to go over to Brazil to meet with regulators tells me that Brazil might be the hardest market to acquire approval in.39:23 AlexDo you think the X-Men  coming into the MCU could potentially impede the creativity of the MCU? What  I mean creativity is I'm talking about Marvel's willingness to make big brands out of properties that were previously considered obscure or not bankable. It's obvious that if Marvel had X-Men from the start then stuff like Guardians Of The Galaxy would not happen.  Sean, can you eventually see a point in which Marvel will eventually stop making movies about lesser known characters and be strictly be in the Mutant-business or do you still foresee Marvel still making movies around more obscure properties like Eternals and Guardians Of The Galaxy.  I must admit as much as I like the idea of the merry Mutants coming home I still have a worry that Marvel could end up relying on them too much like Warners relied on Batman and Superman until now. 43:02 Alex WardWe have not seen many villains make major comebacks in the MCU aside from Loki, Thanos, and maybe one or two more that I'm totally blanking on for some reason. That being said, what existing villains would you like to see come back in a big way? I think Red Skull would be a great character to make a full comeback (yes he cameo'd in Infinity War but that doesn't count), maybe in the Falcon/Bucky series or if the Cap movies continue.Similarly, when villains do return, there has to be a twist of some sort, or maybe just some kind of change from their first appearance. For example, Loki had the backing of the Chitauri. What do you think will be different about the Avengers' rematch with Thanos? Do you think maybe there's another villain?49:24 Alex WardDo you think the WB streaming service will absorb the DCU service?54:43 Jerry KowalskiI managed to get my Disney/Marvel Studios 1st 10yrs AIW hat, and just received the Iron Man one, do u know if there will be others? Also if & when Marvel does do their version of The X-Men, why don't they sit on Wolverine a bit, and focus on the core/og members such as Jean,Iceman, maybe Beast, Prof.X and of course Scott, and finally give scott his due and perhaps push him to the forefront of the new X series?57:49 Mookie JohnsonIs it plausible the Infinity war shot with the heros running to the camera that wasn't in the movie was actually footage from Avengers: Endgame or was it just shot for the trailer?59:24 Mookie JohnsonI love the Red Skull's appearance in Infinity War, but it makes no sense to me. Ever since I first saw it, it has felt forced. Why would it send him to the soul stone?  Even if I accept the explanation at face value, it means the Space stone  decided he was unworthy and then sent him to the Soul Stone as punishment.... So I guess the Space stone was thinking if he spends time with the soul stone he'd grow past his greed and lust for power. What are your thoughts on this?1:04:25 AlexJeph Loeb recently commented on the pending Disney/Fox acquisition  and expressed enthusiasm  over the prospects of Marvel having the Merry Mutants and The First Family all under one roof and it got me thinking what effects can you see the Disney merger having on the the future seasons of the  remaining non-netflix,  Marvel shows  produced by the television division like  Agents Of Shield and the Runaways. Could we possibly see mutants in those shows and all future non-Netflix Marvel shows eventually or do you think the mutants will only be relegated to only Marvel Studio's productions like the movies and the Disney Streaming Service shows?1:08:56 Alex WardAvengers: Endgame Spoiler question See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:30 Brett HeierWhat are your top three favorite marvel cinematic universe characters? What are your top three marvel comics characters? Also, have you seen sorry for your loss? It's Elisabeth Olsen's show and it's really good.3:03 Woo S! KimNo matter what the results are and what the fallout of “Avengers: End Game” the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be very different regardless of who lives and who dies.  Even without Fantastic Four and X-Men potentially coming home the MCU by the end of this year hopefully; the MCU isn't going to look the same nor is it going to feel the same as the universe that began in 2008. Lastly, I think coincidentally this is the best time for Marvel's First Family and Mutants to be introduced to further the point that the MCU that hardcore geeks and casual audiences knew after Thanos won't entirely remain, what say you, Sean?6:54 Woo S! KimI mentioned on an earlier Q&A a few weeks back how Marvel is reintroducing the Fantastic Four in a comics standpoint, could Marvel Television and or FOX quietly ending/wrapping up “The Gifted” and “Legion” just be both companies readying themselves for the merger because to be fair much like the Netflix series and the Hulu, they take place in the MCU but adjacently and from what I hear these FOX Marvel shows are kind the same when it comes to X-Men so whether the merger goes through or not creatively these FOX Marvel shows could conceivably go a couple more seasons, what are your thoughts Sean?9:20 Woo S! KimSean may you please take a moment and explain what the differences are between IMAX with laser and IMAX without laser?12:45 Mookie JohnsonIn your opinion, did the Avengers Superbowl trailer end with Cap grabbing his old shield, the new shield referenced in Homecoming, or a new shield forged in Wakanda since they have plenty of vibranium to remake his shield?14:40 Derek BeebeDid you see Glass, and if so, what did you think of it?  Particularly the third act.    (He said vaguely, to avoid spoiling anyone).14:48 Derek BeebeWhen the Disney/Fox deal is finally a done deal, will you and Paul grace us with an episode about Fant-Four-Stick?16:53 Derek BeebeWhat did you think the FOX TV movies of Generation X (1996) and Nick Fury (1998)? 17:27 Derek BeebeAre you watching The Gifted?  I'm afraid it never grabbed me and I dropped it after the first season.18:05 Robert ReinekeSean, would you care to play Vegas oddsmaker? Please provide a percentage chance of winning for the following Oscar contenders. Avengers: Infinity War to win Best Visual Effects. Black Panther to win Best Production Design. Black Panther to win Best Sound Editing. Black Panther to win Best Sound Mixing. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to win Best Animated Feature. Black Panther to win Best Original Score. All the Stars from Black Panther to win Best Original Score. Black Panther to win Best Costume Design. And, Black Panther to win Best Picture.32:07 Alex WardThis is a tricky one, but aside from what we've already seen, what are five moments you think are most likely to happen in Endgame? Professor Hulk, Cap dying, etc. (And feel free to tiptoe around things you're more knowledgeable about due to leaks)38:54 Alex WardAre you a fan of Yorgos Lanthimos at all? If so, do you think there's any place for him in the MCU? Maybe a super awkward Fantastic Four movie?39:22 AlexWhat do you think of  the recent casting of Harry Lloyd as Charles Xavier for the last season of Legion? Do  you think its kind of strange to have two  live-action versions of the same iconic  character for television and film existing concurrently with each  other? Last time  I can recall this being a thing was the case with Smallvile and Superman Returns where Brandon Routh was playing the Last Son Of Krypton on film at the same time Tom Welling was playing a different version on television.  Its kind of odd to  me. especially considering both the third season of Legion and Dark Phoenix come out this year in June. prior to this news, I was under the  impression there was an X -embargo(similar to the Bat-embargo) which prohibited the use of A-list X-men characters like Wolverine for the television show but now with the casting of the third live-action Professor X before even the MCU has had the chance to  touch the character I wonder what happened behind-the-scenes.41:12 Nolan WildeHi Sean. I'd been considering this and the TV spot may have confirmed it but I'm not sure the World knows the whole story of the snap. The events of Infinity War happened very quickly and it didn't seem the Avengers informed anyone what was happening.Do you think there will be consequences as this is partly why the Sokovia accords were brought in and if the World finds out that the Avengers chose to act alone maybe it's possible they have been outcast?44:22 Mookie JohnsonIf the Doctor Strange movie with Nightmare does well, do you think that creates an opportunity for Blade to return to the big screen?45:11 David RosenHey Sean and Friends, hope all is well! Do you think that End Game will set up any of the Disney+ limited series? Do you think the movie will make it clear that some of the characters' stories will continue on? Also on the subject of the limited series, I believe I read just today (Tuesday) that Chris Evans might be getting a chance to sit in the director's chair for one or several limited series episodes. My first guess was that it would most likely be for the Sam and Bucky series. Perhaps maybe this is what was meant by one of the Russo bros when he “We haven't seen the last of Chris Evans.” What do you think about this news/rumor and what do you director Chris Evans could bring to an episode of the “Sam and Bucky Show” that maybe other directors couldn't?48:23 David RosenHey Sean, You did a great job with the shot by shot breakdown of the End Game superbowl spot! You talked a lot about the imagine, but didn't really say anything about the voiceover from Cap. What does his line, “Some people move on. But not us.” tell you about his/the team's mentality in this movie? What do you think “moving on” is referring to? The fact that hat they lost the battle with Thanos? That their loved ones are gone? That they're in a “new world”? Something else? Do you see this line as proof that the Avengers are likely going to be the aggressors in this movie?50:48 David RosenI think I had a little bit of a different interpretation about the shot of Liberty Island and all the boats around it, than I think you did. What I gathered was that with half the population (and perhaps more from collateral damage) gone, society in New York likely broke down and is in a state of anarchy and chaos and a number of people decided to “move” to Liberty Island and take refuge there, away from some of the chaos that might be occurring in the city. What do you think about this? Is that shot meant to suggest more than just what we are shown, that perhaps society is in a state of complete disarray, or just that a large number of boats, without captains, managed to float and get stuck at the island?53:02 Jeremy EdenA couple Christmases ago, my brother got me a copy of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which I really enjoyed.  It was a fun mashup of two universes I've always loved.  We've seen some other strange universe crossovers in comic books before (JLA/Power Rangers, X-Men/Star Trek, DC/Looney Tunes, etc.)  Apart from a straight up MCU/DC crossover, which bizarre universe mashup (either real or one you make up) would you like to see make its way into the MCU, keeping in mind that nobody is REALLY asking for these to happen?54:38 David RosenSo I realized after rewatching the first End Game trailer that the Avengers compound seems to be lying right flush on a large body of water. As far as I know, aside from maybe a few lakes and the Hudson River, upstate New York doesn't really have any large bodies of water. I went back to watch the “training” scene in Antman, where they show the overhead exterior shot of the compound, and it didn't seem like the compound was sitting on any large body of water, and actually also looked entirely different from the one in the End Game trailer. I know that sometimes designs change between movies, but this seemed like a pretty big change. Ever since the first trailer premiered, one of the thoughts I had regarding Scott was that after getting out of the quantum realm, being in San Francisco, he would have had to then make a cross country drive in his van to the Avengers compound, perhaps even knot fully knowing where it is. But a west coast compound that is public knowledge might alleviate this problem. Do you think this might actually be a different Avengers compound that we're being shown in the trailer, perhaps one on the West Coast, setting up a West Coast Avengers?57:33 Seth GoslinSean, with the upcoming Black Widow film taking place before Avengers, would you like it to take place before she joined SHIELD or after? Would you prefer it to expand on an event previously referenced like Budapest or when Clint spared her or her encounter with the Winter Soldier, or would you like it to be outside of any previous references?59:37 David RosenHey Sean, I just saw the article you posted about the failed pilot order for a Marvel Television all female TV series.   This was the first I heard about this, but did you hear about this previously? Do you think this was the attempt at doing something with an all female cast that we've kept hearing and speculating about? If not, what do you think this non-order means, if anything, for future prospects of getting any kind of all female production?1:03:24 AlexIn addition to confirming once again that subsequent Deadpool films will retain the R-rating Bob Iger pointed out that other Disney  films may potentially  carry the R-rating in the future.  This tidbit of information got my little noggin thinking: do you think Marvel will eventually do a R-rated film besides The-Merc-With-The-Mouth or do you think they'll only strictly do PG-13 films with Deadpool being the lone exception to the rule? And keep up the good work,  man. You're doing a darn fine job.1:09:19 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean I was just wondering who do you think will be the villain for Spiderman 3? And when do you think it will be released?1:12:18 AlexWe know that Star Wars exists in the MCU as a fictional property within the universe but how does nobody ever point out Nick Fury's uncanny resemblance to Mace Windu— who like Fury is played by Samuel motherf'ing Jackson? Does that mean only the original trilogy and sequel trilogy exist and the prequels never got made in the MCU  or do you think like our world the Star Wars prequels do in fact exist and maybe Mace Windu is just played by a different actor in the MCU?  Forgive me if you've received this type of question before but it just dawned on me.1:14:03 Daniel DavilaHey Sean I know I'm right on the deadline for this so I'll keep it short and sweet.  Do you think the living tribunal, eternity, galactus, etc. can be major players in the mcu?  Do you think they translate well to the big screen?  Love your show thanks again!1:15:53 Brian WhiteHi Sean. I would like you to expand your thoughts and comments on the idea of a Young Avengers or Champions movie. As any of us long time comic readers know, the movies have taken their liberties even while giving homage to the original material and this has mostly been successful. But so far we've seen titles and characters that came from the comics even if they were presented uniquely. Your comments about how MCU Peter Parker and Shuri can form the Young Avengers or Champions , both being characters that have never been part of either suggests to me that the MCU can create original characters and teams. In Iron Man 3, Tony gifted his sidekick Harley Keener with a lot of tech. He could show up in his own version of Iron Man armor and join up too - maybe he's the Sam Alexander you've been foreseeing. Do you foresee the MCU originating characters? No doubt the comics will copy them if it does. Thanks!1:18:39 ChristofferCan you recommend some books about Marvel – the MCU in particular – and comic book history in general?1:20:18 AlexAvengers: Endgame spoiler question See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!00:36 Alex WardIt has been occurring to me recently that this past year or so is one of those rare time in pop culture where we're in between a major cliffhanger (the snap) and its resolution (Endgame). The only comparable time I can think of is 1980-1983, when Luke found out Vader was his father but Return of the Jedi hadn't come out yet. Do you ever lament the fact that this time will soon be over, knowing that these periods of not-knowing are so few and far between in fandom? What do you think is the best way to savor this time?6:06 Alex WardDo you think the recent additional accusations against Bryan Singer are even more reason to put Dark Phoenix to bed early and leave the Fox X-Men universe behind for good? Do you think these accusations might play into any decision Disney or Fox might end up making?8:46 Spencer ToycenHey there, Sean I hope all is well! Recently, I picked Immortal Hulk and that series became my go to Marvel book right now. I've always loved the Hulk especially the Bixby/Ferrigno show, so with this new ongoing bringing back the traveling aspect is a welcomed return. With that being said, I feel that's something missing from Banner in the MCU. Does Universal seem likely to move on the Hulk rights soon? I just don't know how the Fox deal would effect that, if at all. Thanks, Sean!13:43 Woo S! KimNow that it is set, that we are going to have a Los Angeles Rams versus New England Patriots Superbowl, I am assuming being a born and raised Los Angeles guy, you will have a Superbowl party, you have one almost every year correct?  On the more Marvel side of things, how likely and would you rather Marvel Studios have a “Captain Marvel” Superbowl ad over an “Avengers: End Game” Superbowl ad because correct me if I'm wrong aren't Superbowl ads for movies a minimum thirty and a maximum sixty seconds and since “Captain Marvel” is coming out sooner wouldn't it make more sense for Marvel Studios to put more money into Captain Marvel's Superbowl ad, rather than “Avengers: End Game?”  The reason I say is because Kevin Feige did say on the Golden Globes Red Carpet that in the marketing Marvel Studios isn't going to show past the first fifteen to twenty minutes of the film.  How can one show pretty much the same clips over and over without making it look like Marvel Studios is recycling footage, I guess changing the music in ads, helps.  Feige could be lying about the fifteen to twenty minutes, but do you see my point am I off base on this one, Sean?20:43 Woo S! KimIn my mind, something that would happen in the aftermath of “Avengers: Endgame”  is The Avengers taking control of “The Raft” and making it theirs and the prison under either T'Chalia's control or Captain Danvers or The Avengers as a collective, what are your thoughts, Sean?22:26 Woo S! KimThis is something I have thought about after watching the roundtables for “Black Panther” and for “Avengers: Infinity War” which are both superb. If and or when Fantastic Four and X-Men get films made by Marvel Studios and for that matter whenever Marvel Studios produces and releases an A-Force film.  I would really like some of the creative forces behind X-Men Comics like Chris Claremont, Joss Whedon to sit down with the directors/writers of Marvel Studios X-Men film to discuss the characters similar to how Ryan Coogler and his production staff were able to talk some of Black Panther's comic book writers.  In that same vein when an A-Force film is released I would really like Sana Amant and Kelly Sue Deconnick a chance to sit down with filmmakers and talk about their experiences re-launching Ms. and Captain Marvel to audiences young and old alike, what are your thoughts, Sean?24:20 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean how is your weekend going I hope its going well. Let me just say real quick that since becoming a patron I have been overloaded with stuff to listen to thanks to your show. Anyways I was wondering if Blade were to become a movie in the MCU how would you do it?? Would you have any other Characters cameo?? Who would you cast as Blade?? And finally who should be the villain? Also do you think they will make a "Marvel Knights" brand for R rated movies?? Thoughts??28:45 BenHey Sean! I remember you saying that Nate Moore would be a worthy successor to Kevin Feige, and I agree. But it doesn't seem like Feige is going anywhere anytime soon and Moore should be a hot commodity to anyone with an upstart cinematic universe. For instance, if I was Toby Emmerich I would snatch him up to run a Milestone Media line of movies. Do you think Nate Moore will be poached by another studio in the near future?33:20 MayaMy #1 favorite marvel scene of all time is the "She's not alone" scene when Okoye and Black Widow come to Wanda's rescue when she is fighting Proxima Midnight. I really respect and agree with your comment about how an all woman marvel team up shouldn't require a reason as to why the men are absent. I think an all woman team up would be DOPE and I'm hoping we can see it within the next 3 years. Which character do you think would make a great villain if it was also a woman?38:20 AlexHey Sean, As I recall, I once asked you if whether the recent  Singer allegations would make you reconsider ever watching his films especially his comic book movies now I have to ask do you think that the allegations against Mr. Singer could potentially taint the legacy of the X-Men films for majority of people?  and what do you think  of Millennium Pictures keeping  Singer as the director of Red Sonja   despite  the new allegations  says about Hollywood?43:01 AlexAny comment on the Brazilian delay on approving the Disney/Fox merger past the expected  January 30th date? Why do you think its taking so long for Brazil to approve the merger and do you still have confidence the deal will close pretty early?44:18 AlexNow that Millennium  Pictures for whatever bizarre reason decided to keep Singer as the director of the Red Sonja film despite these new flood of allegations against him it got me thinking how would you feel if Marvel did the same and hired Singer or someone like him on a project and once credible sexual misconduct allegations start coming out about them  Kevin Feige and Alan Horn stood their ground and still keeps them as director on the project  then in that scenario could you in  good conscience ever  bring yourself to support the film?45:42 Alex WardIs it at all possible that a deal has been reached between Marvel Studios and Sony and we just haven't heard about it yet? Say, for example, Sony sold the rights for Spider-Man back to Marvel Studios--we'd have to hear about that, right? Also, what would it take from Sony to let Marvel Studios make Norman Osborn a major crossover villain in the MCU?54:23 David RosenHey Sean and Friends! Hope everyone has had a good week! We got some exciting news today about Dr. Strange's sequel and it got me thinking: we know that directors talk to each other when they go to make the team-up films, such as the Russos talking to Ryan Coogler, Taiki Waititi, and so on when they were making Infinity War to make sure they were continuing on what each director established in their solo film.. However, do you think it also works the other way around, in that some of the individual directors will talk to the writers and directors of the team up films where those versions of a character seem to work better than in their solo films? For example, while I'm personally a fan of him in both movies, I'd say there is more or less a general consensus that Dr. Strange was written better and more enjoyable in Infinity War than in his solo movie. Do you think when they go to write Dr. Strange 2, Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill might talk with the Russo's and Markus and McFeely about how they approached and wrote that character that made him one of the highlights of Infinity War?As the MCU continues to grow, it seems like there is the potential for more and more characters to be handled by different directors, and I wonder if all the creatives at Marvel Studios might look at which movie or movies each character's characterization was the most successful/enjoyed by audiences and try to continue applying those thought processes that for all future films that a character will appear in. 59:37 Mookie JohnsonPotential Avengers: Endgame spoiler question See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:52 Jim ScroggsSince Peter has officially met Nick Fury in the FFH trailer, do you think that at some point we'll see Peters Parents as SHIELD agents in a flashback or to make it even more comic book-y, they were never dead to begin with3:19 Jessica LoutfiHi Sean. Hope all is well with yourself and the patrons. It has been fun to be a part of the discord community. I am wondering if you had ever given any thought to the origins of the Marvel comics in regards to their mythological equals. For example, Thor and the Norse Myths. I wonder if you have a take on the Greek mythological figure Thanatos, whom has many similarities to Thanos and how myths play into the stories we enjoy. Thanks for everything you do!6:28 Brian WhiteHi Sean. I'm about a week behind on podcasts so this might have been answered by the time I catch up but I'm curious and confused about all the fan theories assuming Secret Invasion is an obvious next step. As you've commented, that kind of story requires years of setup. It was much more intuitive to me to assume that the next Avengers movie or Captain Marvel 2 would be Kree/Skrull War. Surely, Carol is not going to wrap that whole thing up in the first Captain Marvel movie. She's going to need her new Avengers team mates to help her no matter how powerful she is. This event could accomplish again what Infinity War did, bringing the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America together in the backdrop of a space adventure. What do you think? Thanks!10:45 Woo S! KimIf I am just a casual cinema goer and I just heard from friends the storylines of the comics: “House of M” “Avengers v. X-Men” and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” don't all those storylines sound about the same, myself being a geek, I know they are different.  Do you think it would be the correct move since cinema goers and hardcore geeks have seen one live action version of The Dark Phoenix that did not go over so well and one that hasn't even debuted in cinemas that is all ready getting artistic mud thrown at it, wouldn't it make sense when Feige has creative control over the X-Men to do a “House of M” film first since a lot of people have gotten to know Scarlet Witch and perhaps will have more emotional investment because of her Disney Plus series storyline and then in let's say for argument sake five years just lump “The Dark Phoenix” and “Avengers v. X-Men” storylines together adapt both stories into an “Avengers v. X-Men” film, what say you, Sean?  15:23 Woo S! KimYou Sean are one of the few people I have heard give Nicole Pearlman credit for what she contributed to the first “Guardians of The Galaxy” film now this could be a non-issue especially if Marvel Studios and or whomever directs the third Guardians of The Galaxy film decides to use James Gunn script and makes miniscule changes to it.  For argument sake, let's say Marvel Studios doesn't like James Gunn's script for whatever reason, would Nicole Pearlman in your point of view be a good person to bring into write a new draft of “Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3” because of her work on the first film or would it be too much of a challenge because her initial interpretation of the Guardians is perhaps too far and away from what James Gunn has established?17:35 Woo S! KimThis is just speculation on my part, but I have seen on a lot of Marvel Comics social media, a lot of advertising with the Fantastic Four. My question is with the Disney/FOX deal potentially closing very soon,  is this just Marvel Comics slowly reintroducing Marvel's first family and X-Men characters into the comics because they just want to be in the words of Lion King's Scar to be prepared when Fantastic Four and X-Men come back into the fold or could there be something more there we fans aren't seeing, to be fair and no pun intended with the not seeing when Daredevil's rights came back to Marvel in 2012, Marvel slowly starting reintroducing him to the comics proper, same with Ghost Rider, what are your thoughts, Sean?19:40 brentacPrimeDo you think any characters that were snapped will come back only to die again in Endgame? If so, any guesses?22:07 Tom DeMicheleDo you think the next person to play Matt Murdock should be a blind actor? I think casting actors with disabilities is the next step in representation, and discussion on this topic is ongoing. Actors like Bryan Cranston and Tessa Thompson have been met with criticism for portraying characters with disabilities. Perhaps for logistical and safety reasons, a non-blind stunt person can do the more complicated action scenes, with a blind actor portraying Matt for everything else. Your thoughts, Sean?24:17 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!Have you seen every MCU film's special features? And if so (or from the ones you have seen) which film's special features are your personal favorite(s) and why?27:01 AlexSean with “Glass” already have come out I thought I should ask you a question regarding the director dubbed the King of  The Twist(for better or worse)  and was once dubbed(prematurely) as “the next Spielberg” himself M. Night Shyamalan(forgive me if I misspelled his name) M. Night Shyamalan is one of the most polarizing directors working today but I still like most of Shymalan's films(yes even The Village) and Unbreakable I think is masterpiece and kind of shows he has in him for a superhero flick.  So first of all, what do you think of him as a filmmaker and what Marvel property do you think he'd be the best fit for?28:39 AlexIf ‘Into The Spiderverse' was a live-action film do you think Tobey McGuire would be able  to pull off an older, jaded, scluby Peter mentoring Miles Morales or do you think they'd be better off going with someone else or just casting Jake Johnson(the voice actor who played Peter in the movie)? Personally I'd be curious to see Tobey McGuire play a Peter Parker who's at a different stage of his life than the one he played Peter in the Riami  trilogy. It'd almost be like asking Micheal Keaton(Keaton's is a much better actor than McGuire IMO)  to come back to play  the older version of Bruce Wayne mentoring Terry McGinnis.29:57 AlexI recently happened upon an interview with Dan Slott with SY FY Wire  in which he blatantly confirms what we all suspected - The Disney/Fox deal is the primary reason Marvel revived the FF comics. Granted we all knew  months before the Disney/Fox deal  that FF was cancelled because of the film rights situation because Jonathan Hickman basically confirmed  that the comics were canceled over the  film rights still being at Fox(they canceled the comic the same year Fan4stic was released), and not because of the Marvel PR story about the comic having “low sales” but it just irks me that Marvel can be so petty  but  how do you feel about it? Do you think Marvel was in the right to cancel the comic because they don't own the film rights and they don't want to support a potentially bad movie like Fan4stic(which actually did turn out bad by the way) by not giving  it any promotion whatsoever?  Why didn't they cancel  the X-Men comic over the same thing since back then those rights were also at Fox?36:37 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and patrons, hope everyone has had a great week so far. Having now seen the international trailer for Spider-Man Far From Home, we know that Peter has his original Homecoming costume with him when he's is Europe. And we have also now seen the red and black costume being worn in Europe- which from the early set photos last year made it look like he was just wearing it in New York (to me at least). So I'm curious who he gets this suit from, as I expect Nick Fury will provide the stealth suit he gets - but the red and black costume looks absolutely like a Tony Stark design. We know Happy Hogan is in the movie and we also see Happy talking to Peter in what looks - possibly- like the cabin of a private jet (when he says to Peter ‘you're alone').So, could Happy provide Peter with the red and black costume, and would that therefore indicate Tony created it, and was still alive after Endgame (although I guess he could just as easily have made it prior to any possible death in Endgame). As always, would welcome your thoughts on this Sean, and hope you and all the patrons enjoy the rest of your weekend.39:39 Hector Giovanni NavarreteOk, so the topic and question I'm about to bring up is in no way meant to be insensitive or to cause any sort of controversy, at all. It's more to just get a different perspective on the matter as well as to share a little bit of my own opinion. What is your opinion of the recent Hollywood trend to link directors to movies with the same race/sex as the leads in those films? Mostly it's become/becoming a trend in the superhero genre. Examples: Black Panther, Wonder Woman, and others that haven't been released or announced yet like Black Widow and Shang Chi.Now, I am not saying it's a bad trend, in fact I have enjoyed immensely the diversity in front of and behind the cameras for these films recently.I guess I also feel, though, that just like for years movies in general, as well as superhero ones, have been helmed by Caucasian males; is it not seen as “right” in today's society for films with a Caucasian lead to be directed by a director of different race/sex? For example can't there be like a Captain America or Iron Man movie directed by say a Ryan Coogler? And just like for many years women led films have also been helmed by male directors. How about a woman directing a male led film? I loved the idea that was thrown around a while ago for Patty Jenkins to direct a Superman movie. Those are just some superficial examples. I hope I made sense and didn't cause a stir. I honestly would just like to talk about this topic in a respectful and sensitive way.   See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions!01:32 Woo S! KimAfter seeing what has happened on Marvel Television series' this past year and I didn't believe you fully for years, Sean.  Whether it be on Superhero News, on this podcast when it was called “Making Mine Marvel” or when you rebranded the podcast to its current name that the Marvel TV universe wasn't fully connected with the MCU proper universe, I concede your point, you were correct and I was incorrect perhaps this may change after the Disney/FOX perhaps it will, possibly it may not.  My question is there are so many names for humans with powers in Marvel right now and there will be a famous name that Disney will be able to use in the very near future, I am currently starting Season Two of “The Runawayz” what would you call the characters that have powers on that series?  Going back to my earlier statement could one call them Mutants because my geek mind is remembering that there are some Mutants  that get their powers not through natural genetic mutation, would you be alright with Marvel TV using the name Mutants, even though certain characters will never reference the or team up with the X-Men? Or would you prefer Marvel TV using the term that Captain Rogers used in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”  “Enhanced.”  Me personally there are so many different types of humans with powers in Marvel, and there is going to be even more in two years in the MCU, unless they are identified as an Inhuman etc. I just call a human with powers, a “Hybrid Human.” I may have gotten that name from a Marvel comic, I can't recall.   What are your thoughts, Sean?5:38 Woo S! KimI remember before “Avengers Infinity War” you did not like the idea of the Iron Spider armour from the source material being brought over into the MCU reason being because you said the color scheme from the comics Iron Spider looked too similar from Iron Man's Red and Gold armour, being that Feige and his team differentiated the MCU version from the comics, do you like the Iron Spider Armor in “Avengers: Infinity War?” Also, do you think the Iron Spider armor is a nanotech attachment I just say that because of how the armor connected with Spidey above Earth's atmosphere and how Spidey's armor looks almost exactly like Iron Man's Nanotech Armor, especially how their helmets come on and off in “Avengers: Infinity War”    Lastly, I would prefer in future Avengers films, if Tom Holland's Spidey is going to stick around for the long haul, that he use some version of The Iron Spider armor, what say you, Sean?08:28 Woo S! KimSelfishly after seeing the “Captain Marvel” Special Look on January 7th, after seeing Captain Danvers in the tavern with Nick Fury, I want Thor to survive the Battle with Thanos so we can see a drinking contest between Captain Danvers v. Thor in a future Avengers film, I think Captain Danvers has a good chance of out drinking Thor, what are your thoughts Sean?09:22 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and patrons hope you're all well this week. So, Spider-Man Far From Home trailer - wow! I won't post spoilers in case people haven't seen it yet, but I loved it. The stand out question for me, of course, is - pre or post snap?Im sure you'll be covering the whole trailer (this would be very weird if you didn't!) and I'm looking forward to catching your video reaction later on (one bit in particular at the end I'm sure will be really fun to watch your reaction!).Thanks for your time Sean, and enjoy the rest of your week everyone!13:43 Zachary KleinsasserHey Sean and fellow patrons! Hope everyone is having a great week. I had a thought during your Spider-Man rant on the January 11th Daily Bugle. If Marvel is in talks to purchase Spider-Man and bring him back home, what happens to the ‘Into the Spiderverse' Franchise. I loved that movie and it propelled Miles's and Peter's Spidermen to the top of my favorite lists. I would hate to see the potential for what that universe could be go away. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks for all that you do!17:22 Alex WardHi Sean and patrons! Great talking with many of you in Discord yet again this week! I was wondering, do you think Marvel Studios will treat X-Men like the Guardians in terms of having their own team-movie series from the get-go, or will they more likely set them up as their own sub-franchise like the Avengers, where we see separate movies first (maybe, in this case, Wolverine, Storm, Brotherhood of Mutants, etc.) come together for an event "X-Men" movie? Or are the characters too interdependent on each other to standalone, at least through Marvel Studios' perspective? I can't help but think Marvel Studios has bigger plans for X-Men than many of us expect!21:11 Spencer ToycenHey there, Sean! Just a quick question regarding the Kree-Skrull War and possible MCU storylines. Is there any room for Rick Jones in the MCU? He's been a sidekick to everyone, most notably sharing atoms with Mar-Vell, but there's zero chance he'll show up in couple months. Thanks for the podcast and all the hard work!23:42 Alex WardWhat do you think is implied by the construction scene in the Far From Home trailer, and what do you hope it means? https://twitter.com/CharlesMurphTHS/status/1085244708094382084?s=1927:46 AlexSo Sean, it just dawned on me  that there could be some problems with bringing the X-Men and Fantastic Four instead the same world. Particularly since the X-Men are traditionally hated and disliked while the FF are traditionally beloved. I get that there is difference between being a mutant like Charles Xavier and a mutate like Reed Richards but  would people in real life really even care to make that distinction?  Why would the public fear and detest Mutants like Scott Summers and Jean Grey while at the same time revere Mutates who are arguably freakier than a lot of Mutants like Mr. Fantastic — who can stretch? And especially The Thing who's literally the most freakish of them all? Why are the FF not even commonly mistaken for Mutants when there's already an overlap between them and the Mutants? These are serious logic questions that Feige and his team have to address in order to make the integration of these characters they're getting from Fox believable. 32:40 Alexif Peyton Reed were to be offered a choice between directing the first ever MCU Fantastic Four or directing the third installment of Ant-Man which do you imagine  he'd choose over the other? I'm sure you know as well I do  that Peyton has always expressed interest in directing FF and he was even tapped to direct the movie as far as the earl 2000's before  he left over creative differences. Reed in a recent Colider Q&A for Ant-Man & The Wasp pointed out that Feige was there as an assistant developing the movie so Feige is aware of Reed's interest in the property therefore making him a very strong candidate to direct FF.  It would be interesting for things to come full circle and he ends up directing the film but my problem is I'm no fan of Reed(the director, not the stretchy guy)  and would much rather have an independent new director who brings something new to the table like Ryan Coogler, Jon Watts,  Chloé Zhao and Cate Shortland. Sure the Russo's started out making Captain America films before helming  two big Avengers films but that should be the exception to the rule and I'd still much prefer a different director take over director duties for  the FF.37:42 David RosenHey Sean and Friends! Another week, another MCU trailer. It looks like Sony/Marvel tried to do their best in terms of not giving away when this movie takes place, including photo-shopping Peter's passport to remove all the years,  including when it was issued as it seems Peter is picking up it up from a Passport office and that would give it away (although I wonder if he didn't need one to go Germany in Civil War). However, I was wondering if Nick Fury's clothes might also give away something, as he's back in his black outfit, which we haven't seen him wear since CA: Winter Soldier. Since he was still wearing street clothes in the Infinity Way post-credits scene, is the fact that he's back in black a clue that this takes place after Avengers, End Game?40:47 Alex WardOne major Avenger we haven't seen onscreen yet is She-Hulk, but I suspect this partially has to do with the Universal deal, and partially to do with her somewhat-sexist superhero name. Do you think it's possible that if Bruce dies in Endgame or gets "cured," that the next Hulk will be Jennifer Walters (perhaps dropping the "She-")?42:07 Brett HeierHey Sean! I just watched the Spiderman Far From Home trailer, I thought it looked amazing. In one scene Nick Fury and someone else are shooting at the Earth elemental. The other person looked similar to Maria Hill. Do you agree or think that is someone else. Another thing, when Mysterio shows up his powers seem very real, I know he's a special effects master but his powers looked similar to Dr. Strange's. Also, do you think maybe the elementals are just projections by Mysterio so he can look like a hero? Finally, there has been a lot of talk about there being a Sif show. Personally, I would love to see that. I know you would rather have her in a Valkerye show, but what are your thoughts about sif's possible show and her absence from Thor Ragnarok. As always, thanks for having an awesome podcast!47:24 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean I how is your week going?? I hope it is well. So I just watched the Spiderman Far From Home Trailer I loved seeing Mysterio for that brief second and the action looks cool as well. One think I am wondering about tho is what is Vultures role in it?? We know Michael Keaton is in the movie but do you think he has a brief cameo or maybe just a bit part? Thoughts??49:12 AlexWhat are the chances of Nick Fury actually be the Chameleon in disguise who's in cahoots with Mysterio?51:01 Xavier ArquerosHi Sean and fellow Patrons. So I'm going to L.A. in early May and I want to see Avengers Endgame in the best movie theatre possible. I would love a Dolby Cinema or a great IMAX screen. Thanks Sean, keep the good work.53:51 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean and fellow Patrons! So with Nick Fury appearing at the end of IW and potentially coming back in AE, starring in CM, as well as being in SM FFH, and that rumor that said he was either going to be in a D+ series or lead one; do you believe he is going to have an important role in the MCU moving forward past AE and into Phase 4 (if that's what it's called)? If so, how do you think he will be used? I'm glad that he is coming back after a long absence after AoU!55:58 Derek BeebeHi Sean, this is my first time Qing for your A, so I apologize if this has already been done. What do you think of the current Marvel cartoons?  (Avengers, Spider-Man, GOTG)  Are you watching them on the reg? I just read an article rumoring they're about to cancel all the series for the Disney Plus switch.  Do you know anything about that?57:25 Derek BeebeWhat did you think of the last generation of Marvel cartoons?  (Avengers EMH, Spectacular Spiderman, Wolverine and X-Men, Iron Man Armored Adventures)  I was particularly enamored with AEMH and SSPM!57:29 Derek BeebeWhat's your opinion of the 90s Spider-Man and X-Men series?  Those were my introduction to the comics and they hold a special place in my heart, though both had terrible final seasons.58:46 Derek BeebeWhy would Peter know who Nick Fury is in Far From Home?  Isn't he a secret spy?  (you answered this in Discord but I figure it makes for good radio)1:00:17 Derek BeebeWhat's your opinion on when Far From Home takes place?1:00:30 Derek BeebeIf Mysterio is an American character, what's his excuse for showing up when these monsters attack in Europe?1:00:57 AlexWhat do you think about my idea  of when the MCU X-Men happens  the they have the X-Men  get in the colorful comic-accurate costumes and MCU Wolverine laments the fact that they wear such flashy costumes only for MCU Scott to respond with,"What would you prefer black1 leather spandex?" See what I did there?1:01:29 AlexHow would you handle the FF's celebrity status in the MCU if they might potentially will appearing in the MCU as modern day heroes  after the Avengers and Spider-Man have shown to be big superhero celebrities already?1:03:25 AlexWhen discussing the prospect of ending the era of the MCU that started in 2008 with ''Iron Man" Feige cited The Star Trek Next Generation series finale ''All Good Things..'' as a reference for how to wrap up a series.  Though obviously the MCU will continue past Endgame have you for curiosity's sake checked out that episode of Trek and I realize I'm asking you this question not knowing whether or not you're a Star Trek fan.  When Feige  mentioned that episode he pointed out that episode wasn't about death  but about the finality it brought to the characters --namely Picard in which he pointed out that character started playing poker with the rest of crew which should've done earlier.  While obviously that doesn't mean nobody will die  since Fiege was merely using that as  an example to illustrate his point but I gotta say it makes me wonder can Marvel get away with not really killing anybody in Endgame?1:10:16 Moonie HassanHey Sean, so I was having a discussion about what the FFH indicates to the end of Endgame, if what Feige said was true about FFH picking up minutes right after Endgame, then doesn't the tone from the FFH trailer seem a bit off? You would think it would be a bit more somber or down, unless the hero's that were dusted return without any memory of what happened in Infinity War, thoughts?1:15:11 Hector Giovanni NavarreteIn regards to the D+ series, would the actor reprising their roles to play these characters have had to have signed new deals/contracts in order to do so? I am assuming they did have to. If so, is that a good sign that these actors/actresses like playing these characters in the MCU? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Sean answers your Marvel questions! 0:43 Kerry VanderbergHi Sean, I hope you are doing well. What are some of your “must-haves” in the new era of X-Men films which you want to see once they are introduced into the MCU? A few for me are: a more drawn out fight between Wolverine and Sabretooth where they actually get to slash each other up (which they had the perfect opportunity to do in LOGAN, but missed out by not bringing back Leiv Schreiber); Rogue somehow getting her flight and super-strength powers; and for them to plant the seeds of the larger mythology with Cyclops and Jean, where their offspring (Cable) would become the one who can truly defeat Apocalypse in the future. This involves a lot of players including Mr. Sinister, Stryfe, Apocalypse, and should be a long-game plan. Personally, I would hope to see them build up to an adaptation of the X-Cutioner's Song Saga, and play up the mystery that Stryfe is a clone of Cable. Although most important I supposed would to see the X-Men working together as a TEAM. What are your thoughts?8:58 Kerry VanderbergWhat do you think are the missed opportunities for Spider-man from the Amazing Spider-Man films? Personally I didn't like either film, and the only thing that I was excited for before ASM 2 came out was Shailene Woodley's casting as Mary Jane. Personally I thought she was pitch-perfect casting, as I would see her in interviews (particularly one with Conan O'Brien), and I thought her natural personality in that interview matched MJ perfectly. So I was bummed when she was cut out, but I doubt her appearance would have made much of a difference for that film anyways. In any case, that is one where if there was a way to de-age Shailene Woodley to match Tom Holland's age, I would prefer to see her cast as Mary Jane in current era of Spider-man, but I doubt that will happen either. What did you think about Shailene Woodley's casting at the time, and what do you think were the missed opportunities with that version of Spider-man (other than ASM 2 simply not being a good movie)?15:19 Kerry VanderbergWhat types of movies do you go to when you have finished an MCU/superhero movie marathon or re-watch? Do you have a “palette cleanser” of sorts? Some of my favorite non-superhero genres are crime dramas, spy thrillers, and sci-fi films. While obviously the MCU has done a great job in intermixing multiple genres in their films, sometimes it's great to go to a stand-alone film like LA Confidential or Interstellar for a change of pace. Any recent ones you've discovered or revisited?18:20 Mookie JohnsonGiven your report on the Daily Bugle yesterday, I kept waiting for you to say that "the Oscars want the Avengers to come save the day" or something like that... maybe i'm the only one who hears these bad jokes in my head.Anywho, Do you think there's any chance  that comes with any promotional reveals like a costume, trailer, behind-the-scenes, etc.?Also do you think the actors would be themselves for the segments or would they be in character? For example,  would the title card say Robert Downey jr. And he is being himself, or might he come out in an Iron Man suit and be acting as Tony Stark/Iron Man?If it is the latter, would they not have dusted characters present?21:33 Woo S! KimNow that we are closer to the launch of Disney Plus and the FOX/Disney merger coming to a close, where do you think the place of Marvel TV within Disney will be especially since sites like The Wrap and The Hollywood Reporter which I know can be cold and hot on these stories sometimes especially when there is not a lot of information,  but they have reported over the last month or so that Marvel Studios is going to do quite a bit of live action content on Disney Plus, do you think that Marvel Animation that is under the Marvel TV umbrella will do a lot more exclusive animated films, for Disney Plus? Also, I have been thinking this for a couple of days now, and you have touched on this in the past, has your mode of thinking altered in that Marvel Studios series will stay primarily on Disney Plus which will be a big selling point to the casual non geek audiences to get Disney Plus subscriptions and Marvel TV will primarily produce shows for Freeform and FXX as well as “Agents of Shield” on ABC?29:94 AlexHey Sean can I ask how you'd prefer MCU  Sue Storm be portrayed in comparison to the Fox-versions played previously by Kate Mara and Jessica Alba respectively? In my mind, Sue should be confident and assertive, while also being a complete badass.   And also I would like for the MCU to have Sue Storm be among the strongest and most  dangerous characters in the universe. Sue is already the most powerful member of the FF30:05 AlexForgive me if you've been asked this question before  but for  the MCU do you think the best approach for realizing the Thing in live-action  is putting the actor in a Mo-Cap suit like we've seen done for Hulk and Fan4stic or would  would you prefer old-school practical thing like makeup/prosthetics  like we've seen done  before with the Tim Story movies and most recently with the Skrulls?31:56 David RosenHey Sean, I've been holding onto this question for a while now, mainly because it has more to do with Disney-Fox than the MCU, but with the launch of your new Star Wars podcast, I figured this is the right time to ask. Once the deal goes through, can you see, and/or would you prefer, Disney putting the Fox fanfare back in front of Star Wars movies and/or new tv shows? That fanfare is so iconic, that whenever I hear it, my mind automatically jumps to the opening Star Wars theme right after hearing it. Plus, like the MCU fanfare, I've become conditioned to get excited for whatever is about to come after it. When I saw Force Awakens and Last Jedi, I couldn't help but feel like something was missing at the beginning of those movies and it just didn't feel right hearing the opening Star Wars theme without the Fox fanfare in front of it.34:34 David RosenOn a separate note, between all you do for this podcast, writing for the MSN website, the new Fandalorians podcast, your twitter activity, reading for the Marvel unlimited bookclub, and keeping up with everyone on the Discord, I seriously have no idea how you have the time to do all of it. You're not secretly in possession of a time stone that gives you more hours in a day, are you? If so, quit holding out on the rest of us. Not cool. Seriously though, I'm super impressed with and thankful for all you do for your fans and creating this little community of ours that we have going. I'm also really looking forward to the podcast's leadup to Avengers End Game, so thanks as always and keep it up!39:30 David RosenAnother Marvel/Star Wars question: As they are both coming our this year, and will both be serving as conclusions of sorts to their respective franchises, which movie do you think has more riding on it, Avengers Endgame or Star Wars Ep. 9? Also, which movie do you think has more pressure to succeed?46:20 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean hope you and all my fellow Patrons have a great weekend! So I have heard great things of Jonathan Hickman's FF comic series! What is your take on it? Why would you recommend this series for someone to read?48:06 Hector Giovanni NavarreteFavorite MCU costume? Don't know if this has been asked before.49:30 Hector Giovanni NavarreteYour personal favorite funniest moment/joke in the MCU?51:04 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean hope your weekend is going good, my question is about the X-Men in the MCU, first off who do you think should be the villain in the first X-Men MCU film?? Who would you cast as that character?? What would be the lineup you would pick? And finally who would you cast as them?? Thanks for all that you do and I hope you have a nice weekend.54:16 AlexOut of all the Fox movies that was currently in development before the Disney deal was announced  that we know of like the Doctor Doom film, Kitty Pyrde film, or the  Gambit film which movie would you most want to be saved and be  re-purposed to fit in the MCU and which project would you most like to see Marvel abandon?56:20 AlexIf Spider-Man was to leave the MCU after ‘Far From Home' what do you think will be the biggest missed opportunity  that comes with Spider-Man's MCU tenure coming to an end? For myself it would be Spider-Man not being in the MCU long enough to be able to meet/interact with Fox characters like Wolverine and Johnny Storm. I want Spider-Man to meet the Fantastic Four on screen before I die. I want that  so badly.58:48 AlexJeremy Conrad and Christopher Marc(former Editor-In-Chief of a scoop site called Omega Underground) have been insistent that both Dark Phoenix & New Mutants will see a theatrical release even when Disney takes over and I have to wonder what you you think if both Dark Phoenix & New Mutants gets delayed again? Would you still be somewhat confident Disney would release those movies despite the mutiple delays based soley on that report by the Wall Street Journal that Disney will release those movies no matter what? I can't shake this sneaking feeling that something is going to happen with these movies soon.1:04:42 Liam HeslinHi Sean and fellow Patrons, hope everyone is having a nice start to their weekend. I saw a tweet on Friday from Daniel Richtman saying any Fox movie not already in production (like Dark Phoenix and New Mutants) will likely be scrapped when the Disney-Fox deal finally closes. My question is what do you think this means for a potential X-Force movie? I was under the impression that Fox has Josh Brolin and Zazi Beetz locked up for more movies and even if X-Force is delayed will those contracts get handed over to Disney after the deal? Thanks as always for answering our questions and creating such an awesome community for Marvel fans.1:08:37 Alex WardDo you think Marvel Studios would consider doing reshoots of New Mutants to make it their own? I think the casting was perfect so I would hate to see it go to "waste". The only downside to that idea I can think of is that it would probably interfere with their overall X-plans. Also, what do you think of the casting and roster of New Mutants?1:10:37 Alex WardAlso, we've talked before about how the timing of the Fox deal will likely prevent certain characters from ever being able to interact. For example, if Cap dies in Endgame, he'll never meet Wolverine, and so on. What character interactions between current MCU characters and FF/X-Men characters are you most hoping to see? I just have one: Spidey and Human Torch, maybe with them both going to the same high school!1:13:08 Alex Ward]In-universe, are the MCU heroes having adventures between the movies, maybe even against other villains, or are we seeing all of their heroics onscreen? I know it's implied that characters like Loki and Thor were up to something before Ragnarok, but for other characters it's not so clear. For example, it's hard for me to infer whether Cap, Natasha, Falcon and the gang were doing any missions while in hiding.1:14:49 Alex WardThis sort of has to do with the previous question: how would you feel about an MCU "canon" similar to what Star Wars does, in which all the books, comics, video games, and other supplemental materials are now canonical? I know we have the tie-in comics, and that these characters *came* from comics, but I think they're such significant pop culture characters that they now transcend any specific media format. I know we have books like Thanos: Titan Consumed, but while it takes place within the MCU, it's been clearly described as non-canonical.1:20:42 Woo S! KimWhat do you think of the possibilities that the post credit scene in "Avengers: Infinity War" where Hill and Fury are driving take place after the events of "Spider-Man: Far From Home?" also I wou be shocked if I am the only one that's thought of that. Sean answers your Marvel questions!00:36 Brian WhiteHi Sean. New Patron here. I am very curious in Avengers: Infinity War what became of half of the Asgardians. Thor pretty clearly states that Thanos and his Children murdered half of the Asgardians but they were all on that ship that Loki and Korg brought to Asgard from Sakaar. I've watched the movie several times and all I see is the ship being destroyed. Thanos did not have the Space Stone yet so do we assume that the Asgardians conceded to being transported somewhere on a ship that Thanos provides for them?02:34 Tom DeMicheleHey Sean and Patrons! First just wanna say I'm loving Discord and it's been fun connecting with you all. Thanks for cultivating this awesome community Sean!As was said on the Mid-week, we're looking forward to a Tony-and-Cap reunion as well as encounters between many other characters. If/when the Snapped characters return, do you foresee a Tony-and-Bucky encounter? How might the next interaction between these two play out? I assume they're both going to make it out of Endgame alive, so I do foresee their dynamic being resolved or at least revisited in some way.05:45 Woo S! KimIt's hilarious to me, how many of my questions have come out of the “Avengers: Infinity War” Roundtable discussion.  Something that everyone of the directors has talked about is the willing of the general audience and the geek audience and it took a bit of time, for the non geek audience, but not much to realize for example Doctor Strange is very different from Spider-Man, which is very different from Guardians of The Galaxy, but they all of them took time place in a larger universe as we True Believers know.  I, myself when I was young child didn't have a comic book shop near me, my point and my question to you Sean, is do you think that one of the keys to success of Marvel Studios for the last decade and going forward is that going to a Regal or a Cinemark watching all these films is the modern equivalent of going to your local comic book shop and getting sucked into what's going on with Ant-Man and The Wasp or Daredevil this week and wondering with great anticipation of what's going to happen with the next issue in three weeks?  Is this apt comparison?09:32 Woo S! KimI recently heard on my buddy's YouTube channel that when Adam McKay met with Kevin Fiege, I don't know if it was McKay, but in my view, this had to be him because I don't think Feige would bring up this I.P. knowing the issues Feige had with this I.P. with Ike Perlmutter, Adam McKay said that in his meeting with Feige; The Inhumans was brought up in conversation, I have a lot of respect for Adam McKay, I thought he was a great writer on “Saturday Night Live,” I am not saying tomorrow or even in twelve months and I know this would not be your first choice for Mr. McKay, but do you think “Inhumans” on Disney Plus and Adam McKay as an executive producer and or Show-runner would be a good back door intro to Marvel's First Family or a good companion series when Fantastic Four makes their Marvel Cinematic Universe film debut why or why not?12:10 AlexDo you think the way to differentiate the  MCU Charles Xavier from the Fox versions is to make the character a little less sagacious and a little more  morally ambiguous? I like the Patrick Stewart version a lot but he kind of made Xavier a lot more likable and preachy than the controlling, strict, and demanding figure from the comics. You may disagree with my assessment of the comics character Sean, but I've read multiple X-Men comics and Xavier has always come across a bit of a jerk.  Which I kind of like since it makes him more flawed than the all-knowing, warm, self-righteous character that tends to give long-winded morality speeches  that both Stewart and McaVoy  have portrayed in the past.     14:21 AlexDo you think 2018 was the best year ever  for Spider-Man? Spider-Man was in  Infinity War which was a hit, Spider-Man had a ultra successful videogame as well as an extremely well-received movie which is now considered another game-changer for animation as well as the rest of the superhero genre.  I think 2002(the year the very first live-action Spider-Man movie was released in theaters) has been surpassed by a pretty large margin as the most important and best  year for the character.16:04 Brandon ColemanFirst off, Happy New Year Sean and all others members! What Marvel comics are you currently reading? I've recently got deep into the current Fantastic Four and Captain America runs by Dan Slott and Ta-Nehisi Coates. I also really like the 1st issue of Miles Morales: Spider-Man. I recently started buying the comic issues and using the digital codes to read them on my phone. I was wondering what you would recommend to add to my current reading? Thank you and I look forward to your answer.17:54 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHi Sean and all my fellow Patrons!Do you think we will ever get a Black Cat in a Spider-Man film? I remember for ASM2 it was rumored that Felicity Jones was apparently supposed to play her but idk. Would you like to see that and if so who would you like to see play her?19:23 Hector Giovanni NavarreteDo you think Thor will feel "emasculated" when Carol shows up to AE or will he be welcoming/glad since he says, "There's nothing wrong with women, of course, I like women. Sometimes a little too much. Not in a creepy way, just more like a respectful appreciation."? Would you like to see any fun banter between these 2?20:58 AlexThe president recently said that he's willing to let the government shutdown go on for months, if not years.  If the shutdown  does indeed go on for that along then  can see you see this preventing the ability for the  Disney/Fox deal to close in anyway?22:03 Alex WardHey Sean! First of all, I'm loving the Discord so far. It's awesome to be able to engage with everyone about the shows and geek out about Marvel! I was just wondering if you thought it worth speculating that Marvel Games is working on a Fantastic Four game; they recently updated their logo to use a "4" for the "G" in "Games", but it doesn't look especially like a Fantastic Four logo.24:31 Alex WardI also wanted to ask about being proud of your fandom. You mention wearing Marvel shirts and hats, showing your marvel room when you have company over, watching Iron Man 3 as a yearly tree decorating tradition, etc., but maybe it's my friends just having no "nerdy" interests, but I always feel ashamed (maybe that's not the right word) about showing my Marvel pride or even getting nerdy stuff for Christmas, and the idea of getting my girlfriend to watch a Marvel movie unless it's in theaters is almost impossible. Not to make this a Dear Abby question, but did you ever have similar struggles embracing your fandom, and if so, how'd you learn to embrace it? Was it making connections through podcasts and social media? It's been a little helpful me to think about the fact that my friends nerd out about sports and music all the time just like I do for Marvel, but for some reason that's more socially acceptable. Again, it could just be my friends, so maybe being in the Discord community will help me embrace all this!33:43 Alex WardOh, and one more thing: are we getting close to, or are we already at, the point where interests in superheroes isn't nerdy anymore, but instead, dare I say it, cool?37:05 Michael bradleyHello Sean. In a previous Q &  A You talked about your favorite seasons of superhero  TV. I was wondering what are some of the ones you consider  bad. Everyone can say Inhumans and Iron Fist season 1, but do you have any others?  The season 4 of Arrow almost made me stop watching the show. And Arrow is my favorite CW show.38:38 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean how is your weekend going?? My question is, how would you do a venom sequel with Tom Hollands Spiderman in the mix. I know you hate Venom but I heard Marvel might have to let Holland appear in the sequel for the Sony/Marvel deal to keep working. Thoughts? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
