Promo Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw7m8RIesnc About Chef Garvin Restaurateur, Culinary and Hospitality Consulting Specialist, and Chief Culinary Advisor for SodexoMAGIC. Chef Garvin started his culinary career at the age of 13 in his hometown, Atlanta, Ga. Within 3 years, he was working at the Ritz Carlton-Downtown as the youngest line cook working with German Chef Vulker Shupp. He would later move to Palm Springs, California working under Chef Jean Pierre Dubray at the Ritz Carlton-Rancho Mirage. As his culinary career continued to show promise, Garvin relocated to Los Angeles, California, where his career evolved from Sous Chef to Executive Chef, to eventually opening his own catering & events company and signature restaurant. He continued to make a name for himself, and within a short span of time, make the leap to TV with his Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin show. After 7 seasons, 3 books, and numerous accolades, his increasing popularity would lead to shows on the Cooking Channel, the Travel Channel, and his first James Beard Award nomination. Garvin can now be seen as a special guest on Good Morning America, or on Food Network alongside hosts such as Guy Fieri. He has also opened numerous restaurants in Atlanta through his “LowCountry Restaurants” brand and is actively working to educate and inspire the next generation of culinary professionals with his “G Garvin Culinary and Hospitality Foundation”. Through Garvin's efforts, he hopes to aid in breaking down the diversity barriers within not only the cooking industry but in society as a whole where chefs of color are often categorized more often by race than a profession. The Minimum Required S2E35 In this week's episode, we all get into a frenzy with our guests Sean McConville and Stéphanie Joalland, as we get into the nitty-gritty of raising funds, how to make films in Ireland, a discussion on whether it is Garvin or George that is the freak or the sci-fi geek, and much more. For George, it felt more link he was the referee in a wrestling match, with Garvin complaining he was fouled four times by the umpire, certainly not cricket. The theme of the match was indie micro-budget feature film productions which are now where the realise creative arts are in performance, physical effects and the craft of filmmaking. This is certainly our cup-of-tea, as we also explore genre-based films and their role in developing up-and-coming new talent that the film industry is eager to find.
South Carolina Representative Kambrell Garvin of District 77 joins Heather and Darra to discuss Legislative initiatives helping the Palmetto State recover and thrive post-pandemic. Representative Garvin also provides insights on the health care issues impacting his District, challenges in the education system, and vaccinations in SC. Tune in to epsiode 61 now!
A Place In Your Mind S2E34 This week our guest is Donna Phillips who runs the International Film Producers Network with over 20,000 members. Garvin wonders if rain falls mainly on the plain or planes, picturing a few jets amidst some showers, but Donna is in Spain where it was 24˚C, which is normally quite hot for us in Ireland. However, with a blistering sun here and weather warning due to temperatures of 31˚C Spain could definitely be cooler at the moment. Our conversation certainly raises the bar as we discuss how such a Network can benefit all those who are self-motivated and willing to push beyond the edge to find their dreams come true. Donna shares some of her tips for keeping focused and puts Garvin into a tailspin but he soon levels off and reaches new altitudes as the conversation powers on. We hope you enjoy this episode and will join us every Friday as we begin to explore 'The Story of You' as others carve out a career in filmmaking.

Butterflies & Hurricanes S2E32 It's time to re-baseline ourselves, to make friends and influence people in the pub, without telling us anything about what you do. Instead, we want to talk about who you are and not the job. We even talk about the importance of taking breaks for coffee as these are the times when you can really solve problems by talking them through with others. Garvin wants to dance like a butterfly and fly like a hurricane. Or is that fly like a butterfly and dance like a hurricane. The thing is are we the ones making so much volume with our flipping around that we are causing all kinds of storms on the other side of the planet? Well, it's worth dipping in and seeing what we have to say, to make your own mind up. Go on. You know you want to. We don't bite. Well, I don't at least. If you can work out who that is?

She served as deputy whip and vice chair of the Republican Caucus. Lisa is an extremely family-oriented person and has raised her family with a rich knowledge of the Chickasaw heritage.
This week on “The Prepping Academy” Forrest and Kyle talk crypto. What the heck is it and why would you invest? First and foremost, do you have food, water, and supplies for an emergency? No? Then stop. Crypto isn't going to save your life. Neither will gold, or silver in a grid down, or WROL society. One of the most common misconceptions revolving around silver and gold is that they will be the currency in a grid down, or major event. That fact is completely false. If you're a Christian making the argument for gold and silver let me redirect your attention to Ezekiel 7:19. If you're not religious and you're just investing let me explain. No nation which has deviated from a gold and silver standard has ever returned to one. If there is a full-scale market crash you'd be waiting on the devaluation of the dollar for your precious metals to be worth anything. By the time that happens violence will be the norm, supplies and goods won't be circulating, and no one is going to give you a fair market for an ounce of silver because the actual value will be all speculation. And if there's a grid down, what cash register or bank is going to accept it? None. So why crypto? Crypto is the wave of the future. It's the direct intent being spoken of across the globe by the powers that be; not just behind closed doors. The content of this podcast is not to be considered financial advice. We recommend everyone do their own research. Find crypto's with vital utility and make the decision that is best for you! If you're interested in obtained free crypto, there is an app you can use to mine daily called “Pi.” If you're interested you may use the referral code, Kyle81283, https://minepi.com/Kyle81283 to join Kyle's team, or referral code, Garvin, https://minepi.com/garvin to join Forrest. In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we caught up with Diane Dickel from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to talk about her work on ultraconserved enhancers and enhancer redundancy. Diane Dickel and her co-workers study non-coding regions of the genome that harbor distant-acting transcriptional regulatory regions, called enhancers. Enhancers have been shown to be critical for normal embryonic development, implying evolutional conservation. Diane Dickel and her team try to identify and characterize enhancers at a genomic scale. Their efforts include the use of CRISPR/CAS9 to mutate enhancer sequences in order to understand sequence dependent functional relevance. In this episode we discuss the function of ultraconserved enhancers, what ultraconservation actually means, how enhancer redundancy works and how Diane Dickel dealt with a failed PhD project.
