China is going through its third batch of strategic reserves selling, commencing on September 1. This sale will include 150,000 tons of metal, including 70,000 tons of aluminum, 50,000 tons of zinc, and 30,000 tons of copper. Due to this selling, copper has fallen from its highs in May. Gianni Kovacevic, CEO of CopperBank discussed with David Lin, anchor of Kitco News, China's goals and what the downside target of copper may be, as well as the long-term upside potential.
Gianni Kovacevic believes that managed money will soon be sending the copper junior mining stocks flying he shares in this interview. Tom welcomes Gianni Kovacevic back to the show. Gianni discusses the copper mining business in depth. Copper has reached $4.00, and he anticipates that much higher prices will be necessary to encourage development. This bull market may become larger than the last China Supercycle, and he points out that many investors missed out on that cycle by selling too early. The March 2020 crash briefly reduced demand, but it also caused many mines to shut down, constraining supply. Many copper-related industries are adding to their stockpiles because they forecast an improving market. Very little copper is stored as reserves, unlike other commodities like oil. Major copper producers and manufacturers of electrical products will see remarkable growth. He explains the two different types of copper mining and the amounts of global production. Copper supply will be constrained for several key reasons, including declining grades. He says, "We're past the low-hanging fruit phase of copper mining; everything is more difficult from here." He believes the major producers are now going to have to pay to find the resources. The number one jurisdiction in North America is Arizona and Nevada. However, it takes nearly twenty years from initial drilling to completion of a copper mine. Therefore the large producers will have to go after juniors with good properties with proven reserves. He discusses CopperBank Resources and why they offer diverse exposure to the copper trend. He explains the grades and overhead involved in the copper mining industry. Financiers are going to want better margins before they approve new projects. We're close to the all-time high for copper, and once through it, we may see a mania phase. Copper is a massive opportunity for retail investors as an M&A phase can't be that far off. He discusses the rare earth markets, including scandium. Some of these rare earth metals are expecting growth by several multiples in the coming years. Lastly, he discusses the helium market, its uses, and how Desert Mountain discovered a high-grade helium deposit in Arizona. He says, "If you're not following the commodity markets closely, your likely going to miss out on some opportunities." The last time copper and base metals sustained a multi-year bull rally was in the early 2000s during a period of rapid Chinese industrialization. China is still the world's top consumer of copper and base metals, and the country is about to experience a boom similar to what they had in the early 2000s, only with the "electrification" movement, said Gianni Kovacevic, CEO of CopperBank.
There are roughly 2 ounces of silver and more than 100 kg of copper in an electric vehicle like Tesla, said Gianni Kovacevic, CEO of CopperBank. Kovacevic said that it is unlikely automobile manufacturers have been trying to suppress the prices of silver and copper. “As for electric vehicle manufacturers having some sort of a cabal to suppress the price of silver, I don't buy into that. It's a commodity, it does have some monetary features, which is unique to itself, but there's going to be a lot of demand for silver,” he said, adding that silver is going to be more scarce. “I would say that you're not going to be betting against it.” According to the Silver Institute, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) consume 0.8-1.6oz (25-50g) of silver.
CEO Gianni Kovacevic founded CopperBank Resources Corp. (sponsor) after the 2011 euphoria ended. Gianni is a true visionary and he foresaw the eventual shift from hydrocarbon based energy to electrification. But unlike many visionaries, Gianni was determined to act and profit from his vision. He built CopperBank to maximize shareholder value in the inevitable future copper bull market. He’s been waiting a while, but now it certainly appears that everything is coming up copper. He has put together a world-class portfolio of copper properties in Nevada and Arizona. He was only interested in safe jurisdictions where mining could continue unimpeded. Gianni besides being a doer is also a major investor in Copperbank. He and his team have been at the forefront of every capital raise. Placements have been at or near the market price. He never issues warrants; he’s determined to minimize shareholder dilution. This is an enlightened view towards shareholder value that more CEO’s should follow. A couple of key facts about Gianni, he’s a renowned expert on incumbent energy systems and a sought-after strategist in the divestment movement, investing 10’s of thousands of hours of research and experience in the analysis of the natural resource sector. His copper markets expertise has found him on the world-wide lecture circuit and a frequent media guest. His book, My Electrician Drives a Porsche? has sold many copies and is available in multiple languages all over. And not surprisingly, Gianni is a graduate of electrical studies from The British Columbia Institute of Technology. Recently, the stock has appreciated, along with the price of copper, which is now approaching $4 per pound. Once it breaks that resistance point, there’s no telling where it will end up. Which is why we are shareholders of this an amazing opportunity. And if Gianni’s vision of selling off projects and retaining significant royalty interests plays out according to plan, Copperbank could well see outsized future gains. https://www.copperbankcorp.com/ Tickers - CSE:CBK -- FWB:9CM -- OTCQX:CPPKF Register for the upcoming live webcast (Thurs Feb 11th at 2pm ET) where Gianni Kovacevic will present on the macro fundamentals of the global copper market as well as take specific questions about CopperBank: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7729160336440286991

CopperBank Resources Corp. founder and CEO Gianni Kovacevic and his team strategically built CopperBank to maximize shareholder value in a copper bull market. CopperBank has consolidated world-class copper properties and offer a unique “pounds in the ground” copper investment vehicle. The company’s strategy is to accretively advance its portfolio while managing the core business like owner operators and vehemently protecting the value offering on a per share basis. Due to CopperBank’s low overhead model and established suite of projects, it has one of the lowest G&A operating budgets of any publicly listed company in Canada. Management of CopperBank have demonstrated intensive insider buying distinguishing its brand as one of the most insider-supported companies in North America. The "future" is already happening now, and copper stands to benefit the most from the electrification of our economy, said Gianni Kovacevic, CEO of CopperBank.
We wrap the US Thanksgiving Week with a long-form discussion with Gianni Kovacevic, CEO of CopperBank, Author and Speaker. Gianni talks about the current copper market as it approaches this multi-year resistance and how the demand for green and new energy can eventually drive that price to higher-highs. But through the price movement, there continues to be opportunities for arbitrage hidden within the political climate.
Tom welcomes Gianni Kovacevic back to the show. He discusses his educational and entertaining novel, "My Electrician Drives a Porsche?", and why there is a coming energy pivot. Gianni outlines the changing oil markets compared with copper and gold. Most copper production comes from just two Latin American countries, and there are few good alternatives. Copper appears to be diverging from its historic patterns, and the number of electric vehicles on the road will only increase regardless of consumer demand. The world will continue to use more copper, and he discusses a recent 60-page report on copper from Bernstein Research. That report makes a compelling case for the metal. He says, "Running out of a commodity does not matter until it matters, and then it matters a lot." Gianni discusses the uses for helium and why its increasingly finding uses in the technology sector. However, US strategic reserves are now depleted, and prices have gone up massively. Lastly, he gives us his thoughts on lithium and why he expects to see a thousand percent demand increase over the coming years. He talks about a couple of interesting plays in both helium and lithium. Interview with Gianni Kovacevic, CEO of CopperBank Resources Corp. (CSE:CBK)CopperBank is a copper optionality player. What's that mean? They are not miners. If copper price goes up, they expect buyers for their assets to acquire them. Simple plan.It was founded in 2014 by a group of entrepreneurs, geologists and engineers. The business model is to consolidate high-potential, established copper properties and offer investors 'maximum optionality' to higher copper prices in the future.CopperBank's 100% controlled projects act as the asset base in its 'low-overhead' “pounds in the ground” strategy. CopperBank controls 2 advanced projects, located in the United States: Contact Copper, at the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) stage in Elko County, Nevada, and Copper Creek located in Pinal County, Arizona. CopperBank states it would cost more than US$120M to replicate the work already done at these projects.CopperBank aims to strategically advance each of its projects via 'accretive exploration' and development, or JVs. Let's dig a little deeper. Does the market understand the strategy? The share price has been on a sharp downward trajectory. Why? Kovacevic claims that when he launched the strategy, the company put together C$1.6M at C$0.10 per share. "At the last minute," the people who were buying the projects wanted a warrant. The warrant price was set "way out of the money" a C$0.50. The next, CopperBank issued shares, and the next day it went to C$0.03. He claims the company bought back c. 70% of the shares issued it issued after it traded sideways for 16-months. Kovacevic claims he acquired his first 15M shares from the open market. He went on the road for over a year telling the CopperBank story with an "explosive upside," and the share price started tracking up. He claims there have been several periods since where, in 2-weeks, CopperBank's share price doubles. This appears to be a case of a confused market and a lack of effective, consistent storytelling. It's clearly frustrating for Kovacevic who is heavily invested along with his team. He needs to find a way to articulate the value proposition more clearly if this is possible. What types of deals are being considered for monetising Copper Creek? US$85M has been spent in it, and it was taken through to PEA level by the previous owners in 2013. CopperBank is looking for a partner to come in and move things forward. The company treats it like a real estate holding and admits it is not qualified to build a copper mine. With a market cap like CopperBank's, any company coming in for a JV will likely feel like it is on the front foot. However, Kovacevic believes he can find maximum value on a per-share basis. The best possible exit strategy is clearly to be taken over, but Kovacenic and his team will always be on the lookout to do something new and progressive in the copper space.CopperBank has negligible overheads. How? Kovacevic claims he doesn't pay a single dollar in compensation to his technical group. They are all aligned with the shareholder. Kovacevic doesn't even pay rent, he just pays a few thousand dollars of property tax, and there is no company office in Vancouver. Kovacevic appears to have tight control of the pursestrings.Kovacevic claims the copper asset will have a significantly higher price in the future than it has today because it has lots of historical data and development. He believes it is a 10-bagger (did investors' ears just prick up?). He claims that the optionality on an NPV basis, once the copper price rises above US$3, for every additional C$0.25 the copper price goes higher, the NPV of the portfolio goes up by C$300M. These are exciting numbers. The interview is recorded live at The Northern Miner's Canadian Mining Symposium held in late April at Canada House at Trafalgar Square. Despite his many years involved with silver and copper projects, Ross reveals himself here to be keenest on gold's prospects, saying "I love gold right now ... I'm buying lots of gold ... I'm fired up about it ... it's my principal focus." He also touches on copper being the ultimate "energy metal" and has some choice words to say about what he perceives as hypocrisy shown by some environmentalists. The Eagles are world champions! As many of you know, I’m a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. I had an amazing time at the Super Bowl this year – it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To see a few video highlights from the event, check out our Facebook page here. But I’m back with two great interviews for you today… On this episode, I explain why prudent investors love corrections. The market has seen an intra-year correction (10% pullback from its highs) for 37 straight years. Over 75% of the time, the market ended the year higher. You’ll also hear from two amazing guests: First up… Mike Alkin, Editor of Moneyflow Trader. Mike tells us what he’s seeing in the markets (hint: we have different opinions!)... and explains how to profit from a further pullback in stocks. We also get a sneak peak into Mike’s new podcast… (details below). Then I chat with first-time guest, Gianni Kovacevic – author of My Electrician Drives A Porsche. Gianni is one of the leading authorities on electricity analysis. He drove a Tesla across the U.S. to prove the “technology of the future” is here now. You’ll learn why electricity demand is about to skyrocket all over the globe… and Gianni’s favorite way to profit from this global trend… Tune in to listen to these all-star analysts. Good investing, Frank Curzio P.S. Our own Mike Alkin is going to be hosting his own podcast, the "Mike Alkin Show: Talking Stocks Over a Beer." We'll be rolling it out soon, but Mike had something urgent to say… so he couldn't sit on it until then. Stay tuned for his timely pre-episode tomorrow.
