Martin Keller, the Swiss climbing phenom joins us on the pod this week. Martin has achieved a huge amount in his long climbing career (we end up in the weeds talking about his football career for a while but we get there eventually) he's climbed some very big grades and taken down some very long term projects but he's perhaps best known for having done all of his hardest climbing in his 40s. It was great to hear all about it. CANCERThose six letters….that single syllable….that one word….. Cancer might be the scariest sound our ears can register, especially when you've heard it before and hoped to never hear it again. But this story isn't just about cancer. This story is about a man named David Johnson. A husband. A father. A fighter…..A 29029 alumni who knows what it means to KEEP CLIMBING. There are deep lessons taught through suffering; both the suffering we choose and the suffering we'd never in our right minds sign up for. David's story is going to unfold over the course of seven 29029 seasons. What begins in 2018 with David will lead us to a story about Joshua, David's son at Jackson Hole just minutes before 6:00pm on a Saturday in 2024. It's going to be hard to leave this episode without feeling more grateful, more focused and more committed. Grab a tissue and let's go. This episode - Keep Climbing Higher = is regardingd our goals our dreams. I don't believe we ever reached the highest rung on the ladder, we reach a plateau for a while and get comfortable with that and then there's a restlessness, a motivation to advance ourselves a little more. As long as we are living we can keep striving to be better, more knowledgeable and continue living your best life. This episode talks about when we reach an area where we think we're at the top it's OK to relax and live in that plateau for a while but then there comes a restlessness knowing that there's more, there's more we can do, there's more we can learn and it's taking our next step. We all walk our own path and have our own goals and dreams but there is always room for advancement for betterment. The satisfaction and the well-being you get from learning, taking steps forward, reaching your goals, just knowing that you're doing something to better your life is invaluable. And if you're not sure what the next step will be if you trust God the doors will be open. Remember there is always another rung on the ladder! If you are living your calling you will always enjoy the climb, you will be living your best life and it will be easy. #Goals #Motivation.#Confidence. #BestLife. #Selfesteem. #Growth.Support the show

Ted is joined by Angela Montoya, whose debut novel, Sinner's Isle, received starred reviews from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly and trade reviews from Booklist and The Bulletin. Her second novel, A Cruel Thirst, was published last month and has been chosen as a Junior Library Guild Gold Selection and an Editor's Pick: Best YA of December by Amazon Books. Angela also co-hosts the podcast Of the Publishing Persuasion, which is where she and Ted first talked. He had so much fun that he asked her to come on Working Drafts to celebrate the release of A Cruel Thirst—which she describes as “Zorro meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer”—and dive into what she's working on now. Titled Carnival Fantástico, that third novel, scheduled for release in spring 2026, is a second-chance romance set amidst a traveling carnival, with a dose of secrets and magic. Here, Angela describes the process of writing a book while you're actively seeing readers respond to your previous one and how she finds ways to draw on that feedback to make the next novel even better, a skill Ted freely admits to envying. In addition, they discuss the genesis of Angela's idea for Carnival Fantástico, the collaborative process that has shaped the book into its current form, and the struggle that comes with knowing you have to cut your word count—along with realizing everyone isn't going to think your first draft is brilliant as is. This is prob simultaneously the most deranged, idiotic... & inspired ep yet in this last year of podcasting. Speaking of which, PPM just turned 1 yr old: pls make sure to rate & review it on Spotify in celebration & get the word out as yr able! We sure do appreciate it. Sub to the Patreon b4 Sermon #2 drops: patreon.com/ParaPowerMapping In which yr faithful ParaPower Mapper assumes an inverted Baby Billy Freeman from The Righteous Gemstones persona, donning an anti-Prosperity Gospel & anti-Z****st preacher mask, in order to deliver a lengthy sermon decrying the exploitive televangelist ministry of the Osteen dynasty & an alt history of the House of Usury known as Lakewood Church, culminating in an examination of the sus interlocks & inconsistencies that shed a diabolical light on the highly publicized "shooting" that took place at said repurposed Houston Rockets arena some weeks ago. We call upon the Holy Spirit to guide us as we humbly seek to speak in sus-olalia (not glossolalia), setting the possible contours of this false flag conspiracy alight... Fill us w/ sus tongues of Holy Fire, Lord, as we consider whether this "domestic terrorist attack" was an op to shitcoat the popular pro-Palestinian movement as antisemitic & Hamas-affiliated, providing further genocidal justification for the hasbara-artistes. We're talking: Prosperity Gospel; Charismatic Movement; televangelism; Azusa St. Revival; William J. Seymour; Charles Parham; John Osteen's conversion story & early ministry; his son Joel Osteen; Lakewood Church attack; Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship Int'l; Demos Shakarian (capitalist evangelist & Kardashian clan relative); the faith healer & fraudster William Branham, one of John Osteen's primary mentors; the Branhamite cultic tree & various sects that have branched from it; Jim Jones & the People's Temple; Colonia Dignidad & Paul Schafer; recent spate of (Israeli lobby-organized?) bomb hoaxes on college campuses; Christian Z****sm; Joel Osteen's friendship w/ Bi*bi Netan*yahu; an earlier parcel bombing at the Lakewood Church that may serve as a skeleton key to understanding this false flag; Houston shooter Genesse Moreno's diagnoses of dissociation, schizophrenia, & PTSD; her schizo "antisemitic" screeds on social media; her repeated telegraphing of the attack; the possibility her M*I*L is either her programmer or else played a precipitating role in her psych breakdown by attempting to sic CPS on Moreno & steal custody of her son Samuel; the fact Moreno's husband is imprisoned over failing to register as a sex offender in FL; Genesse's apparent connections to Lakewood via her bio mother, which make her decision to target the Church all the more curious, as the primary motivation she professed online for the attack in the lead up was her desire to exact revenge on her mom-in-law, who, curiously enough, happens to be a Rabbi & whose connection to Lakewood Church is unclear... Genesse's incoherent political statements, her obsession w/ "Ham_s", & her repeated intimations that her MIL in driving her mad. All meaning her actions & self-professed rationale behind the attack appear incongruent. Her allegations that her Mom-in-Law has the F*B*I surveilling her & certain paranoiac behaviors & pathologies highly reminiscent of James Yoo (not to mention her stimmed-out writing style verging on illegible, which is also comparable). Finally, Moreno's MIL assertion her son was the victim of repeated CSA as a child. And much more.
