UNH and Health Stocks - DOWN 20% today - The administration's proposal (via the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or CMS) for Medicare Advantage reimbursement rates to rise by only 0.09% in 2027. This was far below Wall Street expectations of 4-6% (or higher), following a more generous ~5% increase for 2026. - The near-flat rate aims to improve payment accuracy, curb overbilling practices, and protect taxpayers, according to CMS statements, but it sparked widespread concerns about squeezed insurer margins, potential benefit cuts for seniors, reduced plan offerings, or market exits. - UnitedHealth has significant exposure to Medicare Advantage (roughly 30% of national enrollment), making it particularly vulnerable. The proposal, announced late Monday (January 26), led to a broader sell-off in health insurers: - - Humana (HUM) plunged over 20-21%. - - CVS Health (CVS) and Elevance Health (ELV) each dropped around 13-14%. Tech Earnings Microsoft (MSFT) Reports: Wednesday, January 28 (After Market Close) - Wall Street Expectations:  Earnings per share (EPS): about $3.86 and Revenue: about $80 billion - Growth: high teens year over year revenue growth - Investors are focused on Azure and broader cloud growth, particularly how much of that growth is coming from AI related demand. Microsoft has built a reputation for consistent execution, which also means expectations are high. The critical issues will be cloud growth sustainability, margin stability, and how aggressively management plans to keep spending on AI infrastructure. Meta Platforms (META) Reports: Wednesday, January 28 (After Market Close) - Wall Street Expectations:  EPS: about $8.15–$8.20 and Revenue: about $58–$59 billion - Growth: roughly 20–21% year over year revenue growth - Advertising remains the core driver, with AI driven ad targeting continuing to improve returns for advertisers. While topline growth expectations remain strong, investors are closely watching expense growth. The biggest question is whether rising AI and infrastructure spending can be managed without eroding margins or spooking investors, as Meta works through the next phase of its AI strategy. Tesla (TSLA) Reports: Wednesday, January 28 (After Market Close) - Wall Street Expectations:  EPS (non GAAP): about $0.40–$0.45 and Revenue: about $24.5–$25 billion - Trend: earnings expected to be sharply lower than a year ago - Tesla enters earnings with the weakest expectations among the major tech names this week. Vehicle deliveries declined year over year, and automotive margins remain under pressure. While the energy and services segments continue to grow, they are not yet large enough to offset slowing EV demand. - Investors will be far more focused on forward guidance than on the quarter itself—particularly updates on Full Self Driving, robotaxis, and the broader AI roadmap. Apple (AAPL) Reports: Thursday, January 29 (After Market Close) Wall Street Expectations -  EPS: about $2.65–$2.67 and Revenue: about $138 billion Growth: approximately 11–12% year over year revenue growth - This is Apple's most important quarter of the year. Expectations call for record revenue driven by the iPhone 17 cycle and continued Services growth. The focus will be on margins, China demand, and forward guidance—particularly how higher costs (memory prices and tariffs) may impact profitability. Apple typically beats expectations, but the stock reaction will hinge on what management says about growth beyond this quarter. Company Ticker Report Date Est. The natural gas market is evolving faster than the pipes can keep up, creating a high-stakes environment where infrastructure is king. Jay Bhatty, founder of NatGasHub.com and author of Nat Gas Million$: Insider Secrets To Striking It Rich, joins NGI's Chris Lenton and senior editor Andrew Baker to pull back the curtain on the world of energy trading and the "unsung heroes" of gas scheduling. Bhatty breaks down how the disconnect between surging demand, driven by LNG exports and the data center boom, as well as how limited pipeline capacity is creating massive opportunities for those who control firm transport and storage. The discussion dives into the current winter outlook, encompassing how early-season volatility and potential "fireworks" in pipeline-constrained regions like the Northeast could trigger major price dislocations. Bhatty also shares strategic insights from his career on the trading floor, explaining the shift from traditional market drivers to a new era defined by high-flexibility storage and structural demand growth. As the market braces for the next major cold snap, Bhatty provides a roadmap for navigating a volatile commodity landscape where physical delivery is becoming the ultimate competitive advantage.

He also talks about peak shale and how the US can maintain 13.5 mbd with relative ease.  He discusses the role of higher oil prices, the efficiency of the industry, and the ability to increase output in the US and Canada for both oil and natural gas.  Andrew Novotny talks about AI power demand, hyperscalers, and the actual amount of natural gas demand for power from AI.  He talks about grid connected power and the abundance of electricity, most of the time, but the problems when there is scarcity and lack of power availability in the specific window of hours where cost is incredibly high.  "We have a ton of power outside of 200 hours."  He also talks about power companies being behind and unable to connect folks in the oil and gas field to the grid.  He speaks to the lack of energy density in wind and solar power and wind and solar requiring greater transmission which drives the cost of this intermittent power up.  Sheldon Burleson discusses the excitement around natural gas and investment in natural gas, especially in private equity.  He talks about the areas with the lowest breakevens and the shift in thinking about drilling and completion costs.  Companies are rethinking DUCs and are now building drilled and completed wells (DACs) and then waiting to bring these wells online and into production.  Sheldon talks about the change from growth to capital discipline in the context of "peak shale." The audience asks fantastic questions ranging from power in the field from flares and changes in the fuel powering frac fleets.  The panelsist knocked Trisha's questions and the audience's questions out of the park.  PetroNerds cannot thank these gentlemen enough for their intel, insight, and candid remarks.  This is an incredible PetroNerds podcast you are going to want to listen to and watch, more than once, and share with your colleagues and friends.

Sean Brodrick – Portfolio Strategies In Gold, Silver, Copper, Oil, Nat Gas, Rare Earths, Antimony, Tech Stocks, AI Stocks, and The Robot Revolution

Sean Brodrick, Editor of Wealth Megatrends, Supercycle Investor, Resource Trader, and contributing analyst to Weiss Ratings Daily, joins us to outline strategies for portfolio management in lieu of the underlying trends in gold, silver, copper, oil, nat gas, rare earths, antimony, tech stocks, AI stocks, and robotics stocks. He also highlights some of the trades in individual resource stocks in his portfolio.   We start off noting the strong V-shaped recovery in gold and silver and the precious metals equities since our last conversation in late October.  After the sector corrected down sharply from mid-October into early November, it then rallied strongly back up through present in mid-December.   Silver breaking up decisively through the October highs in late November had Sean communicating with his subscribers to get positioned into even more silver stocks over the last couple weeks. In the larger silver stocks Sean got repositioned in both Pan American Silver and Hecla Mining again in 2 of his respective publications and portfolios. He is more animated by the recent outperformance of some of his junior mining stocks, flagging the outperformance in Heliostar Metals, Vizsla Silver, and Avino Silver and Gold.   Sean makes the case for both gold and silver running much higher in the year to come. His medium-term target for gold is at $4,500 and then a run over $5,000 is quite doable. Longer-term he still has an upside target for gold around $6,930. With silver he sees an eventual run to $100 as quite possible next year, and longer-term even a move to $200 would simply bring the metal up to it's inflation-adjusted highs. “I don't think most generalist investors are going to wake up until silver gets to $100, and then they may say ‘Oh, I should add some to my portfolio.' ” “It's not too late really to buy any of the silver miners. Heck, look at our Avino Silver and Gold… it's up 58% already and we didn't add it that long ago.”   From there we broaden out the discussion to the whole commodity complex, which Sean believes will stay in momentum overall. He points to the strength in copper and copper stocks, and advises looking for domestic opportunities to participate in that megatrend as it continues to develop. He feels many of the metals are moving higher in sympathy with the breakout in the precious metals. Sean believes this commodities super-cycle will even begin to drag the lagging traditional energy sector higher once again next year, pointing to the recent strength in natural gas, and the eventual catch-up trade in oil and oil stocks.   Shifting over into some of the niche' elements of the critical minerals sector, we discuss the outsized move higher in rare earths, antimony, and tungsten stocks in the summer into the early fall, but then the harsh correction back lower again, with many equities down 50-70% off their recent highs. Sean reiterates the importance of pulling partial profits when people have outsized gains in their portfolios. He outlined that he advised subscribers to reduce down positions in some of his big winners in rare earths, like MP Materials, and antimony like United States Antimony a couple of months ago. He also trimmed back most of those positions over the last few weeks to still lock in 106% and 85% gains respectively in the remaining portions, highlighting the importance of getting into trends early on at low prices and buying when the trends were in motion but less obvious to the broader markets. While he acknowledged some of these critical minerals sectors may be one of the few areas experiencing tax-loss selling this season, he still thinks investors can pick their spots and get re-positioned as these trends are not over, and China is still back to increasing their export controls on these important commodities.   Wrapping up we looked back at 2025 more big picture, and summarized a great year overall for investors, but marked with extreme moves of volatility in both directions. Sean pointed back to mixed start to the year, the severe market dislocations in most sectors during the April tariff tantrum lows, the strength and rebound of the precious metals, general US equities, and in particular the tech stocks. Sean anticipates the tech stocks continuing to garner a bid in 2026, and highlighted companies that can utilize AI to reduce headcount and improve efficiencies as big future winners. He also flagged the integration of AI into robotics to spur a “robot revolution” in 2026 and moving forward, noting how it takes them from stupid to thinking machines with more utility. He also notes that if we want to build out future robotic workforces for utilization that it is going to take quite a bit more of many commodities including copper, silver, and select rare earths. On the geopolitical front, all the global conflict and rearming of nations militaries are going to keep a bid in defense metals like antimony and next generation defense stocks.   Click here to follow along with Sean's work at Weiss Ratings Daily and Wealth Megatrends   Click here to learn more about Resource Trader     For more market commentary & interview summaries, subscribe to our Substacks:   The KE Report: https://kereport.substack.com/ Shad's resource market commentary: https://excelsiorprosperity.substack.com/     Investment disclaimer: This content is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. In this KE Report daily editorial, we welcome back Dan Steffens, President of the Energy Prospectus Group, to break down the latest developments across the oil and natural gas markets. With crude prices recently dipping below $57/bbl and natural gas showing relative strength, Dan shares his insights on market fundamentals, storage levels, and the outlook for key producers and income plays. Key Discussion Points: Oil Market Outlook - Despite headlines of oversupply, U.S. crude and product inventories remain below seasonal averages, with Cushing storage levels near record lows. Dan believes strong support around $57 and possible SPR refilling could stabilize prices. Natural Gas Demand Drivers - U.S. LNG exports are expanding rapidly, projected to reach ~20 Bcf/day in Q1 2026. Rising AI data center power needs are emerging as a major new demand source, with multiple gas-fired plants being developed to support this growth. Top Natural Gas Producers - Companies positioned to benefit from rising demand include EQT Corp (EQT), Antero Resources (AR), and Range Resources (RRC). Balanced Oil-Gas Plays – For diversified exposure, Dan highlights Ovintiv (OVV), Devon Energy (DVN), and Coterra Energy (CTRA), each with substantial natural gas and NGL production alongside oil output. High-Yield Midstream & Income Ideas – The safest dividends lie in midstream operators such as Plains All American (PAA) (≈9% yield, tax-advantaged), Enbridge (ENB), and Oneok (OKE) - all benefiting from steady volume-based cash flows. Dan also notes Black Stone Minerals (BSM) and Kimbell Royalty Partners (KRP) as strong royalty-income opportunities. Hedging & Cash Flow Stability - Many of these firms are well-hedged, ensuring consistent dividends even amid commodity price swings. With gas futures near $4, Dan expects renewed investor rotation into gas-weighted producers through year-end. In this Daily Editorial, we are joined by Jim Tassoni, CEO of Armored Wealth Strategies, for his monthly trader's perspective. Jim is a momentum trader, and this month's discussion focuses on the broad commodity rally - from gold and silver's powerful uptrends to renewed strength in copper and uranium - as well as why energy markets remain laggards. We cover: Precious metals leadership - Gold, silver, and the miners (GDX, GDXJ, SIL) continue to trend higher across all timeframes. Jim discusses how he manages momentum trades through tactical trims and add-backs while staying aligned with the dominant trend. Trading through volatility - With the VIX crossing above 19–20, Jim is reducing position sizes, banking partial gains, and waiting for pullbacks to re-enter. He emphasizes risk management and trend discipline as volatility returns. Actionable levels in gold and copper - Jim outlines his current playbook: trimming gold near $4,160, reloading around $3,895, and maintaining a bullish bias above $3,510. He's also long copper from ~$4.94, with a risk line near $4.81 and upside target around $5.26. Uranium momentum trade - Long since early May, Jim continues to trail stops higher while trimming into strength as uranium equities remain one of the best-performing segments in the commodity space. Energy divergence - While metals rally, oil and natural gas remain weak. Jim stays short crude oil and explains why the lack of catalysts and capital rotation into metals and uranium have left traditional energy behind. Market psychology & capital flows - How investor focus and “hot money” rotation are driving performance across sectors, and why discipline and clear exit levels are essential in volatile markets. Stock & ETF Symbols Mentioned: GDX, GDXJ, SIL, COPX, GLD, SLV, VIX, WTI, URA   Click here to visit the Armor Wealth Strategies website to keep up to date with Jim and what he's trading.   ----------------- For more market commentary & interview summaries, subscribe to our Substacks: The KE Report: https://kereport.substack.com/_ Shad's resource market commentary: https://excelsiorprosperity.substack.com/_ Investment disclaimer: This content is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. Natural Gas Supply Association President and CEO Dena Wiggins joined NGI”s Carolyn Davis, managing editor of news, to discuss the outlook this winter season for supply, demand and prices. Based on its deep assessment of the U.S. market, NGSA expects prices to be relatively flat compared with last winter. Market pressure is being offset by record production, even on the back of strong LNG exports and rising demand from artificial intelligence-powered data centers. Of course, there are wild cards, with weather the biggest one for the natural gas markets. Wiggins breaks down the outlook for storage and potential price volatility. A big issue on the table for the natural gas market is permit reform, which has been on the table in Congress in some form or fashion for a few years. The legislation, Wiggins said, is essential  to ensure there is enough infrastructure as demand rises. The NGSA chief says the fuel is no longer a bridge, but “foundational” to energy supplies domestically and abroad. Wiggins expects Congress will pass legislation to remove impediments to expanding the reach of U.S. natural gas, both to serve domestic and overseas markets.

Then we shift gears with Josef Schachter of the Schachter Energy Report, who outlines why oil and natural gas remain sluggish today but could be setting up for a major multi-year rebound. Segment 1 & 2 - Kicking off the show is Brian Leni, founder and editor of Junior Stock Review, who recaps the Metals Investor Forum and makes the contrarian case for rotating some profits from the hot precious-metals trade into undervalued copper and nickel. Focused on copper stock analysis he stresses bottom-up analysis over EV/lb shortcuts, the primacy of infrastructure/jurisdiction and major-partner backing for capex-heavy projects, cautioning against small early-stage hype. Click here to visit the Junior Stock Review website to keep up to date on what Brian is investing in   Segment 3 & 4 - Josef Schachter, founder and editor of the Schachter Energy Report (and author of Eye on Energy on Substack), also hosting the Catch the Energy conference in Calgary on Oct 18. He outlines why oil and gas are soft near-term (seasonality, rising OPEC/Kurdistan supply, resilient U.S. output), expects WTI to test $57–59 before recovering toward the $70s next year and potentially $80+ in 2026, sees nat gas improving with winter and LNG Canada, and favors dividend-paying names, selective small caps, and M&A opportunities after a further washout. President-elect Donald Trump responded that “It's ridiculous.I'll un-ban it immediately. I have the right to un-ban it immediately.” It will likely be more difficult than a simple “un-ban” order. Environmental groups will likely push a “sue, baby, sue” campaign to counter Trump's “drill, baby, drill.” In his statement, Biden justified the move to counter the “climate crisis.” So, there are grounds to assert this authority of reversal, but it will take years in court. The alternative and preferred route would be Congress. This is an issue that should ultimately rest with Congress. Here's how this would work:   Criteria for Using IEEPA:   The President must declare a national emergency based on an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States that has its source in whole or substantial part outside the United States.
