Converting a FWD Honda to a RWD platform is not easy task, but it does come with some solid benefits as we will discuss looking at this F20c powered space framed Honda Prelude [TECH TOUR].Use ‘PODCAST75' for $75 off your first HPA course here: https://hpcdmy.co/hpa-tuned-inWith an Ethanol fed, 24-26 PSI boosted, 9,000 RPM 750hp Dandy Engines F20c boasting Eagle Rods, factory crank and camshafts (because they're that good), aftermarket pistons, SuperTech valves and a new Garrett G35-900, this Fastr sponsored RWD converted Honda Prelude is no slouch in its regular appearances in the ACL Race Series.Professional driver Brett Dickie took a few moments while at the World Time Attack Challenge to discuss his build (with the help of his skilled father) discussing the some of the advantages the rear wheel drive (RWD) conversion gives a driver behind the wheel along with his thoughts in passing on EMtrons torque management system. As you might have guessed, the car runs an ProWire Performance Wiring fitted EMtron KV8 ECU along with a MoTeC CDL dash for some extra logging bandwidth and driver display duties which Brett felt was the best combination he could get for performance and his requirements without blowing out the budget too far. We caught up with Brett just before his first run with the new Garrett G35-900 turbocharger which is replacing a 3076 and we look forward to getting his thoughts on a comparison next time we chat along with some of the data this system can and will provide him with as he and his team gets it all dialed in with the help of a Turbosmart E-Gate (electronic wastegate), DBW blow off valve, MAP sensors pre and post the throttle body and an exhaust pressure sensor. With no bolt-on solution available, the dry sump setup is a mix of BDG dry sump components and a custom sump, with Brett sharing some thoughts on what he has learnt and would do differently second time around. Tucked behind the F series engine is a 6 speed TTi GTO sequential gearbox and Motorsport Services strain gauge lever which feeds a GJ Drivelines driveshaft and R200 LSD diff center nicked from a Nissan Skylines rear end. The Nissan parts list also includes the uprights, with 300ZX ones used to help try and reign in custom work and give more bolt in part options, and of course being something that physically worked with the package. Also touched on are some of the boost control strategies employed, but Brett is pretty straight up that his knowledge is more focused on being behind the wheel than behind the laptop, and with 20+ years of it his no doubt his feedback goes a long way to help dial things in for race day.You can catch Brett and this build racing in the ACL Race Series, and you can catch Brett racing other cars like the previous title winning Elusive Racing DC2 Integra at the World Time Attack Challenge as well as other cars in Global Time Attack and Pikes Peak Hill Climb events.

For episode 89 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, Jon, Ryan, and Tasso catch up on all the racing that the guys have been doing lately. Tasso is just back from running in the Lands End Hill Climb, the second event of the CHCA Season. Dussex was running with Global Time Attack at the Ridge a couple of weeks ago, and now he is just back from racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park on the opposite side of the country just a couple of days ago. There is a lot to discuss and this episode ran a bit long so the full video will be up on our Patreon here shortly. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
For episode 80 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, Scotty, Dussex, and Jon talk with Amir from RS Future. Amir has been running his 1991 NSX in Time Attack for a few years now, and he has now refined his car to the point where he is now dominating the Street class in Global Time Attack. This year he took first in Street class at Super Lap Battle at Circuit of the Americas while setting a new class record as well. After all the success that Amir has had in Street class, he is now set on going through his NSX to build it for a higher class, and is working on finding ways to make his car even faster than it already is. And although Amir has been driving for a long time, he has branched out into doing a lot of driver instruction and data analysis for the drivers that he coaches as well. We talk with Amir about all of the driving that he is doing, as well as everything going on at RS Future where they specialize in building race cars and fabricating motorsports carbon fiber parts. Thanks for listening and Stay Tuned!
For Episode 75 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, our guest is Jamie Moreno, The Racing Chica! A few weeks ago when Viet and Jon went to Utah to drive the new 2022 WRX and 2022 BRZ, it turned out that one of our friends, Jamie Moreno, was one of the instructors for the event and has been driving the 2022 WRX on track at the Utah Motorsports Park for a bit now. Because of all that time spent with the new WRX at speed, we had to bring Jamie on the podcast to talk about that experience. Jamie has a heavily modified WRX that she has started out racing in NASA, and then moved on to competing in Global Time Attack, and Grid Life with it as well. We talk to her about how she got started driving on track, and how that lead to her to where she is now. Thanks very much for listening and we hope you enjoy the conversation. Stay Tuned!
Tony Szirka joins Dan, Mike, and Hayden to talk about we compare how much better of a person Tony is than Mike. Tony has some rules that he doesn't agree with the boys about that make for great conversation. Someone admits they're wrong, someone admits they are slow, and in the end, we all agree on one thing. We talk about the Global Time Attack presence at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Then we talk about the best approach to dealing with a handling problem. What do you do if your car understeers? Or has a handling problem in general? Most of the time, the place that we start is by adding a part like a sway-bar, etc., and/or to adjust the setting of the suspension that you have (if there is any). This will usually allow you to dial in the handling of the car the way that you want it, but is this the best approach? One of the other aspects that has a large effect on how your car handles, and one that is rarely considered, is the driver. How you drive the car also has a significant impact on how the car handles, but it seems to be something that isn't discussed as often. Until now. Thanks for listening and Stay Tuned!

For episode 43 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, the topic is Time Attack. And we have 3 very special guests join us for a fantastic discussion of the origin of Time Attack in Not only the United States, but Australia as well. Our guests for this episode are Ian Baker who is the organizer for World Time Attack in Australia, and Jason Dienhart and Kiet Le who organize Global Time Attack and Super Lap Battle. We talk with Ian, Jason, and Kiet about what drew them to the sport of Time Attack initially, and how they started organizing events. The sport of Time Attack, and especially the cars that are running the event, have changed a lot since its origin in Japan in the mid to late 90's. As technology has improved, everything from the power that the engines can make, the tires, the weight of the cars, and especially the amount of aero added to the cars has changed significantly. And because of the mostly open rules sets in the unlimited class for these races, some of these cars are pushing the absolute edge of performance, and are setting times close to that of open-wheel formula cars. This is a great conversation about how Time Attack became established, about the iconic cars that helped these events make their mark, and the new cars that rolled onto the track and changed the game. Thanks for listening and Stay Tuned!

For Episode 25 of the Flatirons Syndicate Motorsports Podcast, we start off talking with Ryan from DSX Motorsports and Jeanette from Red Queen Racing about driving in the Global Time Attack event at The Ridge in Washington State. From there we open up a topic that has come up around the shop here a few times. Do you have to be humble as a driver to improve and get faster? Getting faster and being a better driver are pretty much the goals for all of us, but we have taken different paths to get there. One thing that we have been wondering is: Does your mindset have a big role to play in how you develop? We decided to discuss this and we hope you enjoy the conversation, and that it is helpful. Thanks for listening and Stay Tuned!
For Episode 6 of the Flatirons Syndicate Podcast, we sit down with Ryan from DSX Motorsports and Tasso from OTC Racing to talk about Hill Climbs and Time Attack. Since those are the Motorsports that each of them are involved in, we wanted to take a deeper look at each of them from both a spectator and competitor point of view. Tasso competes primarily in the Colorado Hill Climb Association series. Ryan competes primarily in the SCCA Time Trials, and the Global Time Attack and Grid Life Time Attack series. In both cases, we wanted to get a better idea of the strategy and development involved and it turns out that there are a lot of similarities between the two. Thanks very much for listening, and Stay Tuned with Flatirons Tuning!
About a year ago now, we sat down with Ryan from DSX Motorsports, Jeanette from Red Queen Racing, and Scotty from the shop here to talk about their experiences competing in a variety of forms of Motorsports such as the NASA Time Trials Series, SCCA Autocross, Pikes Peak Time Attack series, Global Time Attack, and Grid Life. We had a really good discussion about what it was like to participate in these different events, and they were able to discuss what they felt were the benefits of each type of event, and what they liked about them as well. It was a great conversation, so I wanted to include it with our podcasts here. Thanks for your support, and thanks for listening!

Jason grew up in Orange County, CA and has always enjoyed going fast and being involved with fast cars. He was particularly fond of the late 80’s and early 90’s import tuners cars. In 1995, Jason purchased a brand new Honda Civic hatchback SI and began installing parts before he even brought it home! Things got extreme pretty fast and before he knew it, Jason was swapping motors in his Honda and in his friends’ cars. Jason became a crew chief for one of his friends and found a skill in organization and planning events. He used this skill to get a job at Super Street Magazine to produce the events they held. In 2004, Jason and the guys at Super Street had the grand idea to hold a Time Attack style event like the ones they saw in Japan. The plan was to hold it after SEMA in hopes that a lot of the professional Japanese teams would stay longer and participate. A lot of the rules were created around what Jason knew best, and that was drag racing. That is why the event has no power limitations, but instead uses tire width and tread wear to break up the classes. They held several events but Jason later left Super Street to pursue jobs at other automotive enthusiast companies. Fast forward to 2010 and Jason is once again excited about hosting his own Time Attack race series. He teams up with a partner and holds a press conference at the SEMA show to announce Global Time Attack. They team up with NASA (National Auto Sport Association) to bring some legitimacy to their program. He has since broken out to run the series by himself. There are 3 main events: Road Atlanta, NOLA Motorsports, and GTA Super Lap Battle. Jason also organizes some Pro-Am events local for the California people throughout the year. GTA Super Lap Battle is still the largest and most publicized event. It is held the Thursday & Friday after SEMA and draws a huge collection of cars, spectators, and media!
