Today we’re speaking with Air Force Veteran Dana Forester, President and COO of JDog Carpet Cleaning. Dana speaks about her time in the Air Force and her transition to the civilian world. She talks about how JDog recognized the struggle many Veterans faced when acclimating back to civilian life and how they decided to do something to help the other Military families as this new stage of life begins. That’s when they committed themselves to create entrepreneurship opportunities exclusive for Veterans and their families. Are you a Veteran who is transitioning to Entrepreneurship? Then check out this FREE download for the Top 29 Entrepreneurship Programs for Veterans & their families! Download Here ---> https://bit.ly/31xfz8S About Our Guest Prior to becoming the President of JDog Carpet Cleaning in 2019, Forester served as the Director of Operations and Ramp Up Coach of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, the first service offering under the JDog Brands portfolio. Before joining JDog in 2016, she worked as an Emergency Services Dispatcher. JDog Brands is committed to hiring Veterans and Military family members, including among its own leadership team. Forester fits both criteria. She served in the Air Force for four years and belongs to a very small community of women who have served as a Munitions Systems Specialist -- a predominantly male field. It recently occurred to me I haven’t shared with our listeners what else I do in addition to Franchise Interviews.  I am a full-time professor and course leader for several marketing courses at Purdue University Global.  I am excited to share some exciting news.  For the last several years, I have been working on a paper that was published in The Qualitative Report Journal.  The Qualitative Report is a Q1 ranked journal on Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR). Q1 to Q4 refer to journal ranking quartiles within a subdiscipline using the SJR citation index. Thus, a first quartile journal (i.e., Q1) has an SJR in the top 25% of journals for at least one of its classified subdisciplines.  The name of the study is called A Qualitative Study: Military Veterans and Franchise Ownership.  This study focuses on the military experience and motivation to become a franchise business owner. You can download a copy of the study on the following link: https://nsuworks.nova.edu/tqr/vol25/iss3/14/ I would love to hear your thoughts on the study.  I thought a great interview to play for today’s show is with JDog Junk Removal franchise.  JDog Junk Removal, a full-service junk removal franchise, which is taking veteran employment assistance to new heights with the creation of a franchise opportunity, offered exclusively to veterans and active-duty members of the United States Military. The concept was created by an Army veteran in response to the excessively high unemployment rate for returning service members.

We arre meeting with Jerry Flanagan, of J Dog Junk Removal.  J Dog Junk Removal is a full-service junk removal company that removes almost anything. We offer junk removal services for your home or business including offices, retail locations, storage units, churches, apartments, warehouses and more. Junk Removal, a full-service junk removal franchise, which is taking veteran employment assistance to new heights with the creation of a low-cost franchise opportunity, offered exclusively to veterans and active-duty members of the United States Military. The newly-launched concept was created by an Army veteran in response to the disproportionately high unemployment rate for returning service members.   In an effort to ease the transition from military to civilian life, JDog Junk Removal offers veterans and active-duty Military members the hands-on training, business support systems and assistance programs needed to effectively get their business off the ground quickly. The concept has a rapid launch capability of less than 90 days. In addition, owners have the ability to gain extra income with multiple revenue stream opportunities.  No other franchise has ever been developed by a veteran solely for veterans.
