In this episode of the Your Next Mission® video podcast, SMA Tilley engages in a discussion with Tim Jensen, Chief Brand Officer of Grunt Style and President of the Grunt Style Foundation, as well as a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. They havean insightful conversation about Grunt Style, the largest patriotic lifestyle apparel company in the country, Tim's transition from military service, and the mission of the Grunt Style Foundation to support Veterans, Servicemembers, andtheir Families.
Tim Jensen, a Marine Corps combat veteran, is on a mission to stop veteran suicide. The powerful veteran activist and head of Grunt Style Foundation (advocacy arm of America's patriotic T-Shirt brand Grunt Style) talked with us about the current state of suicide prevention. Jensen shared a surprising connection between suicide and psychotropic drugs, and others for anxiety, depression and even meds used to help vets quit smoking. He also illustrated how alternative medical treatments, widely known to improve the lives of vets with head injuries and PTSD, are being underutilized or even ignored. We discussed the political games unfolding as DOGE cuts continue to slice the federal workforce. And we examine the path forward; including upcoming meetings with House Veterans Affairs committee members, a GSF-VFW partnership, and a proposal currently being reviewed by officials in the Trump administration. Is the balance of power in the U.S. government shifting? Constitutional lawyer Steve Croskey joins us to dissect the recent Supreme Court ruling overturning the Chevron Doctrine, a pivotal decision reshaping the landscape of federal agency power. Discover how this landmark ruling aims to restore the separation of powers and reassert judicial oversight, challenging decades of regulatory overreach that has affected everything from gas can nozzles to firearms regulations.Through vivid real-world examples, we unravel the complex web of agency authority that has grown since the 1980s, spotlighting how entities like the EPA and OSHA have expanded their reach into our daily lives. From TSA regulations to OSHA's COVID-19 mandates, our discussion reveals the personal and practical implications of unchecked agency power, portraying a system where unelected officials wield disproportionate control. The Supreme Court's recent decision marks a monumental shift towards rebalancing this power, ensuring that individual liberties are safeguarded against bureaucratic micromanagement. This episode is sponsored by Grunt Style, a lifestyle brand whose mission is to bring patriotic apparel to every home in America. Today we're talking with Tim Jensen, Marine Corps combat vet and outspoken leader of “Grunt Style” apparel. Grunt Style T-shirts are loved by military vets and easy to spot with the infantry battle flag and crossed rifles on the sleeves. Jensen shared how this multi-million-dollar apparel company started with the founder selling shirts out of his car.More than just apparel with massive veteran appeal, Grunt Style often steps up and becomes a loud voice supporting important veteran causes. (Like investing several years fighting Congress to pass Toxic Exposure legislation.) Jensen shared more on their latest cause- calling out the city of Chicago (and Marine Corps) for closing a Marine Corps monument in front of a building that has become housing for immigrants. Jensen also shared strong feelings about VA managed veteran health care and a lack of transparency on the heavy amounts of prescription meds they still doll out to vets. We also hear how the Grunt Style Foundation is giving vets access to alternative treatments like Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), which the VA still refuses to utilize for treatment of TBI, PTSD, etc.We also discussed some of the hilarious shirt designs just released for Summer. Jensen, the "1st Sgt of Fashion" explains how GS shirts are more than just patriotic, but they actually help build a community among vets, patriots and anyone who loves whiskey, bacon and freedom! Our liberties hang in the balance as our government officials boldly ignore the limitations of their positions as it pertains to the powers provide in our Constitutional framework. In this episode I am joined by lawyer Steven Croskey so we dissect such examples such as the FISA Act's warrantless spying on Americans. As we delve into the historical bedrock laid down by our Founding Fathers, it's clear that understanding these principles is not just academic—it's a shield against the encroachment of an overpowering elite. This episode is a wake-up call, urging every citizen to become well-versed defenders of our freedoms and scrutineers of government actions that may threaten the sanctuaries of our rights. This is a controversial topic, but one that is necessary to address!Check out the previous episodes of the Full Spectrum Warriors Podcast with Steven Croskey on E33 & E38 This episode is sponsored by Grunt Style, a lifestyle brand whose mission is to bring patriotic apparel to every home in America. The foundations of our freedom are under siege, and on this episode of the Full Spectrum Warrior podcast, we're not just sounding the alarm—we're arming you with knowledge. Shannon Rush, fellow Navy SEAL veteran, joins me to rip the veil off the globalist agenda that's infiltrating every facet of our lives. Those with power and influence are shaping our world to fit into the United Nations programs, putting a global agenda above our national priorities and personal liberties. Our discussion is an urgent wake-up call to safeguard our sovereignty against a backdrop of demoralization and control. It's a clarion call for all patriots to stand united, reclaim our American identity, and stride boldly towards a future where transparency, liberty, and unity triumph over darkness and deceit. This episode is sponsored by Grunt Style, a lifestyle brand whose mission is to bring patriotic apparel to every home in America. Welcome to Game Changers with Jeff Newkirk, where we speak with people who have done something to make this world a better place. It's simple: inspire, educate and let's go change this world! On today's episode, Jeff welcomes guest Tim Jensen of Grunt Style. Tim is a Marine Corps veteran and leader in the business and advocacy veteran community. Born in Chicago, he is currently the Co-Owner and Chief Brand Officer for Grunt Style and lives in San Antonio. Grunt Style is one of the fastest growing retail and e-commerce brands in the country. In the Marine Corps, Tim served as an amtracker gone infantry man and was deployed to Iraq in September of 2004. To begin, Tim explains his transition from amtracs to infantry, which most officers actually do the other way around. He participated in over 200 combat patrols in the extremely violent Northern Iraq, for which he was awarded Combat Action Ribbon and Navy Achievement Medal. He finds it immensely important that we celebrate the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our country from danger. By working alongside Grunt Style's CEO to align the brand's vision with its values, Tim's goal is to help grow the brand and ensure that their products meet the highest expectation of demand. Although the brand doesn't directly take any political side, they do recognize that the United States Constitution is something that should be known, celebrated and defended. Grunt Style also strives to be a leader in pride of the self, our military and our country. Then, Tim shares about his journey from the military to Grunt Style. After returning to Chicago from the military, Tim found his life in a state that he was not proud of. Understanding that he was in need of making a major change, he quit his job and enrolled in college thanks to the GI Bill. He graduated in 3 years at the top of his class with a degree in video game design. He interviewed with Grunt Style and accepted a position working with the company's inventory. 11 years later, he is Co-Owner and Chief Executive of the business. He is also the Chairman of the Grunt Style Foundation, a nonprofit committed to serving veterans and their families. What Tim enjoyed most about his time in Iraq, he shares, is that he was able to see a group of people get the ability to vote for their own government for the first time in their lives. He als sheds light on the freedoms we have as Americans that we often take for granted. Finally, he shares that Grunt Style's goal is to continue sharing their love of freedom, our country and the self with people every day. They also plan to help people understand that patriotism is not a bad word. Learn more about Jeff Newkirk. Do you have any game-changers in your life? I'm wearing Grunt Style for my SUPERHERO Tee! :) It's appropriate for this episode! There was an event this past weekend in San Diego American Legion District 22. SAN DIEGO AMERICAN LEGION 'BE THE ONE' WEEKEND was a high-profile, suicide prevention awareness, membership, and community resource event. We need more of these across the country! The American Legion National Commander, Daniel Seehafer was there and challenged all of us to live up to the idea that we are here to Change Lives and Save Lives. You can hear him and then hear my takeaways in this episode. Event organizer Vic Martin also spoke of how no organization can do it alone, so this episode also features one of the resource organizations, Workshops for Warriors. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dalydose/message
Siyamak sits down with Michael Bornman, a retired captain from the LA County Sheriff's Department who had served for over 30 years. He shares his perspective on the issues the Department is currently facing. We also talked with Cece Woods, who has been reporting on the LA Sheriff's Department for many years. She provides her insight based on conversations she has had with people in the department. "They're getting pre-scheduled, managed, forced overtime. And on top of that, if they don't have enough people, if you're getting out the door to go home, they'll draft you into another overtime spot. So 16-hour days every day" Mr. Bornman said. "Folks are dropping like flies because they're frustrated, they're angry. They get mixed messages from the top. You don't ever hear about a great cop did something or how they've saved a kid or how they saved the day for somebody. All we're hearing nowadays is anti-cop, anti-law enforcement rhetoric. I'm sure you've seen it in the news." -------------------- This episode is sponsored by:
My guest is Mark E. Sackett, owner of The Box SF, a San Francisco business that he has owned for over 20 years. He'll discuss the issues small businesses are facing in San Francisco and his perspective on problems in the city. Mark is not just a small business owner—he's a pillar in the San Francisco community. “I've been in San Francisco 32 years ... I built my career there. I became who I am as a creative person there,” Mr. Sackett said. "So if you think of good business, good businessman, almost a legacy business in San Francisco ... Think about all the people who have less resources than me, and there's a lot of them out there … I'm trying to secure my error mask right now so that I can be here to help others. Because if I'm gone, if I tumble over this cliff and I lose my building and I lose my business, I'm not going to be any value to anybody. I want us all to work together to get the city back." ____ This episode is sponsored by:

Find out why this vet pod is a one of the best podcasts 2023. In today's podcast episode, I am joined by Army veteran, Ami Ritter. As two board members of Hope 4 Veterans we had a lot to chat about that organization later in the episode. But first, Ami shares her experience in the Army. We discuss gender roles and the male and female differences during active duty. We discussed the patriot missile and her work with the patriots. I learn all about her training what exactly her job with the missile entailed. Ami shares with me her experience being stationed in Korea, and we discuss how important serving was for us. Ami shares her belief that Americans should spend more time serving in their communities even if not being in the military and why it would benefit American society. Ami explains how the entire family is impacted by deployment. She explains to me her reason for leaving active duty, changing her M.O.S. and becoming a reservist - spoiler alert- the reason is common for women. She tells me all about her experience in Iraq and is honest about facing mental health issues. She explains what caused her to get out of the military. She details the traumatic experience that happened to her due to her deployment. We dive deep into the challenges she faced and how hard she advocates for veterans and mental health. This one gets raw and emotional. You don't want to miss it. She gives some awesome advice, too. This is one of the podcasts best. Thank you to the sponsor of this episode Grunt Style! In today's episode I sit down for a deep, gritty, inspiring talk with fitness professional, model, and author Linda Steele. In her new book, Nerves of Steele, Linda outlines her traumatic childhood, which morphed into a traumatic adulthood until she decided to take control of her own body, which then led to control of her life.We dig deep into the long-lasting effects of childhood trauma, how that moves so many women into a life of depression and covering up, and how little changes, like taking control of what you put into your body and how you use your body, can change everything. It's what helped both of us!***Note that if you find talk of physical and emotional abuse, childhood neglect, addiction, and mental illness triggering, you may want to skip this one.***Linda's Bio:Linda Steele is creative, passionate, dedicated, and determined to improve the lives of others through safe, efficient fitness. Esaia shares the repercussions of going to rehab on her reputation and what she did to survive it. Warning*** this episode touches on sensitive subject matter. Please keep an open mind. The state of Tennessee is known for its rich outdoors heritage. For generations, outdoor enthusiasts from around the world have been enjoying Tennessee's great outdoors by hunting, fishing, and trapping. However, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) has been making changes to the regulations governing these activities that have been leaving outdoorsmen disappointed. For years, feral hogs have been causing problems for farmers and landowners in the United States. They reproduce so quickly that their population has exploded, causing serious damage to crops, livestock, and even wildlife. In an attempt to control their population, some states have allowed hunters to take them down. In today's episode of the Back to the Lodge, Patrick talks about why feral hogs are being hunted, what changed his perspective about hunting hogs, and when is the best time of year to hunt wild boars. Also in the show will be the founder of Perfect Pattern Sportcoats, Tim and his wife Austyn Swisher. They will share what people are saying about their products, their future plans for women's apparel, and how to get great discounts and free shipping at Perfect Pattern Sportcoats. Perfect Pattern Sportcoats is a high-end menswear company that was born when an avid South Carolina waterfowler identified a problem and decided to create a solution. As avid duck hunters, they wanted a finely tailored sportcoat that was designed with the highest attention to detail while making a bold but tasteful statement. This was accomplished by teaming up with Mossy Oak as Official Licensees and incorporating the absolute best camo patterns into every sportcoat that they make. In This Episode01:04 - Patrick's hog-extermination adventure06:55 - Getting acquainted with Jason Irish, host and owner of Dirt Road Outdoors TV08:24 - What changed Patrick's perspective about hog hunting12:05 - The best time of year to hunt feral hogs17:57 - A brief overview of the Perfect Pattern Sportcoats26:52 - What people are saying about Perfect Pattern Sportcoats28:53 - Future plans for Perfect Pattern Sportcoats for women30:17 - How to get great discounts at Perfect Pattern SportcoatsFavorite Quotes10:09 - "So here's the problem in Texas, if you're a farmer, let's say you have a hundred thousand acres, you're making your living off of crops and cattle but you can't free-feed your cattle. The hogs will go in there and eat all the food and starve the cattle. The hogs also attract the coyotes, and the coyotes eat the calves. Wild boar will dig three feet in the ground, so the tractors don't like that either and the cattle don't like that because they can break a leg. There are so many problems. Theresa grew up in a military environment. She knew from a very young age that her future was in the Navy. But what she didn't foresee was that she would be a finalist in Ms. Veteran America! Theresa and I chat about her experiences in the Navy, including her dream of being stationed at the former NAS Miramar. We talk about what is was like serving in 1980, and how she believed (what was then) the recent women's rights movement made changes to the treatment of women but in the military, it had little impact. We discuss how that affected Theresa's military experience. She tells me about her transition out and how she made it go smoothly. Theresa had a long successful career working with real estate mortgages. Now, she is helping interested veterans with transitioning into this career in order to improve their quality of life. In addition to volunteering her services with not for profit veterans groups she tells me all about her experiences with M.s Veteran America and I get all the details on the behind the scenes! It's easy to get caught up in the gear race when it comes to enjoying the outdoors. We are constantly inundated with images and stories of adventurers using the latest and greatest equipment, when in reality, this is not the case at all. Some of the most memorable outdoor experiences were without the fanciest equipment. So, whether you're a seasoned outdoorsman or just getting started, sometimes all you really need is a sense of adventure, willingness to explore, a good attitude and a positive outlook. In today's episode of the Back to the Lodge Podcast, Patrick, Nick, and Will talk about Nick's first effort at unloading trucks, Will's involvement in philanthropic events, and why enjoying the outdoors doesn't have to be expensive. Be sure to check out the Back to the Lodge Website for some cool and exciting updates. Enjoy! And when you could buy something once and just keep it, that's great. But don't just buy something just for a name or just for a commercial, infomercial, or whatever it is." - Will Easley 19:14 - "When you're there (philanthropic events), you can have that experience, the emotional tie, and the emotional connection to people that are speaking. You can't get everything online. So hopefully that 2022 will be better for everybody." - Will Easley 22:58 - "There's so much negativity. There's so much division. It's time to put the people at the top, at the front of the line, in front of the screen, or on social media that are making a difference, a positive impact." - Patrick Mudge 27:55 - "I've hunted in great blinds and pits and everything else. But what I go back to for my peace of mind and my enjoyment is we sit at the edge of a cornfield, the edge of a cut field, and I hunt with a 69 rifle. We just sit there, you cut up, and you enjoy yourself." - Will Easley 28:26 - "Hunting doesn't have to be this overcomplicated high-speed thing that everybody tries to make. Some of the social media things that you see, you don't have to look at all the big, sparkly, and cool stuff. Some stuff just works. And it just worked for decades. And if it still works, you make it better. You adapt overtime. The world changes, but you don't have to keep buying the biggest and the best and most expensive just to keep up with the Joneses." - Will Easley How to get involvedFrio HydrationWar HippiesCarl Perkins Center PartnershipGrunt StyleGrunt Style Foundation Listen To More Episodes of BACK TO THE LODGE PODCASTSpotifyApple PodcastYouTube Engage with Back To The LodgeInstagramWebsiteFacebookIcey-Tek USA
Military people are the backbone of any nation. They put their lives on the line every day to protect the country and its people. Military life can be difficult, both for the service members themselves and for their families. The men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us deserve the best training, the best equipment, and the best opportunity to be able to react to things. In today's episode of the Back to the Lodge Podcast, the team talks about their partnership with Grunt Style Foundation, their favorite parts and products at the SHOT Show 2022 as well as what some exhibitors fail to do during the show. Grunt Style Foundation is a national nonprofit organization committed to providing life changing resources and experiences in which veterans, service members, and their families thrive. It is funded by Grunt Style, a patriotic and veteran-operated apparel brand, to further Grunt Style's commitment to recognize and celebrate those who bravely served our country. The Grunt Style Foundation focuses on mental health and wellness, military transition and sustainment, while alleviating food insecurities, and ending homelessness for military and veteran communities. Grunt Style Foundation is one of those that is legitimate. There's a lot of alignment of values, good people doing good things, and I'm super stoked for it." - Justin Szerletich 28:49 - "When you go into any situation whether it be combat or just in the street, the more prepared you are the less traumatic that experience is." - Will Easley PartnershipGrunt StyleGrunt Style Foundation Listen To More Episodes of BACK TO THE LODGE PODCASTSpotifyApple PodcastYouTube Engage with Back To The LodgeInstagramWebsiteFacebookIcey-Tek USA
Caroline is the author of "Fairly Smooth Operator, My Life Occasionally At The Tip Of A Spear" and her story is an interesting one. As a Coast Guard veteran she shares her experience of being a female in a branch that is still almost entirely male. We share and contrast our experiences serving in the two branches of the military that dominate the water. She speaks of the difficulties of having orders to a small base with poor leadership. She shares how she overcame harassment and her transition out of the military into the CIA. She shares (what she she can) about her time working with the CIA, her transition out of government service, writing her book and getting into comedy. We learn all about how she gives back to the veteran community by teaching comedy through the Armed Services Art Partnership. Special thanks to the sponsor of this episode Grunt Style!
