The 1993 AMA Supercross series saw Jeremey McGrath being the first rookie to win the premier class title. In '24, Jett Lawrence became only the third rookie to achieve that feat. Jamie Guida wanted to write a story discussing who the 'Greatest Rookie of All Time' is, and in doing so interviewed six of the riders from the '93 season to get their thoughts on MC's first year. He felt like that audio was interesting enough to be shared in podcast form. Part one of two featured Jeremy McGrath, Damon Bradshaw, and Jeff Emig. Part two features Mike Kiedrowski, Steve Lamson, and Jeff Stanton.

Great race between Jeff Stanton and Rick Johnson on this day and tons of subplots for Matthes and Weege to break down. Johnson himself jumps on the line to take us through what was going on with him at this time, his relationship with Stanton, the drama around him and more.
In part two Damon Bradshaw discusses some individual races from his career, including a heated discussion with Jeremy McGrath and taking out Jeff "Chicken" Matiasevich. Then he answers Forum member's questions
The Beast from the East, Damon Bradshaw on his career, Chicken, and a lot of more.
When Jeff Stanton wants to talk, we listen, because few people in this world are more straightforward and no-nonsense than the six-time AMA National Champion. On a cold December Monday morning in Michigan, we caught him working (of course) but also looking to do some bench-racing. Stanton has had a relationship with Triumph for several years now as part of his Jeff Stanton Adventures bike riding tours, but now that brand is planning to race supercross and motocross. We talk to Stanton about that, 2023 Anaheim, Chase Sexton, Eli Tomac, and more, plus get some tips on how a man's man lives his life. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura and Leatt.

Motocross racer Jason Valento got his start with a KDX80. The catch? He purchased it without his parents' permission. Luckily, they weren't too upset, as he continued to ride and joined D23 ARMCA in 1998. He began racing motocross, and now competes in the 35+ B and 40+ B classes. Though he has enjoyed racing over the years and has had success on the track, his greatest accomplishment is passing on his love for the sport to his son, Seth. The high quality racing and events in D23 ARMCA are what keep him coming back, and he plans to as long as his body allows. In the future, Jason strives to continue having fun on the track, cheer on young D23 ARMCA racers, and even try other disciplines of motorcycle racing. In his early racing days, Jason was inspired by Jeff Stanton, and our local motocross hero, Donny Schmit. However, now, he's inspired by the younger racers that share high-fives before and after their time on the track. Motorcycling has become a part of Jason's identity, and the friendships and memories he's made through the sport outweigh the strain on his pocketbook.Jason starts his race day with a hearty breakfast and quiet time, but he also enjoys a few laughs on the line before the gate drops. In addition to riding and racing, Jason enjoys playing guitar, mountain biking, and snowboarding in the wintertime. He also spends time fending off the paparazzi for his dog, Toby, who he claims is “the famous one” of the pair. Once encouraged to “enjoy the moment,” Jason encourages other D23 ARMCA members to be grateful for the community we have here in D23 ARMCA. He explains, “we have a district with wonderful volunteers who work hard to give us something we should be proud of. We have promoters who are amazing. Say thank you. Be grateful. Help out if you can. Don't take it for granted.” This article was prepared by an independent contractor and may not be the views of the board of directors of District 23 ARMCA or any of their sponsors or affiliates.

In episode 28 we chat with former pro motocross racer Marty Clark. After qualifying for the 1991 Pro Motocross National in Millville, MN, he hit the road to test his luck in Washougal, WA. Though he didn't qualify for the National, he spent a week day at a local practice track with Jeff Stanton and Jeff Ward, a highlight in his racing career. Marty has long been involved with Kato Cycle Club in Mankato, MN and encourages others to become involved with the sport at the club level. Finally, motorcycling has come full circle for Marty, as his youngest daughter is now a motocross racer herself!
