El responsable de la zapatería, tras conocer las intenciones del policía, se ofreció a ayudar con su descuento de empleado de la tienda. Cuando pasaba por la calle y vio a DePrimo acuclillado frente al vagabundo, sacó su teléfono y tomó la foto porque le trajo a la memoria el vivo recuerdo de su padre, quien también había sido oficial de la policía. Foster recordó cómo su padre entró a una tienda, compró alimentos, se acuclilló frente a un mendigo y se los dio.Lamentablemente, hay mucho recelo respecto a los guardadores del orden público; hasta se dudó que la imagen de DePrimo fuera auténtica.
